After Transmigrating Into a Book, I Became That Omega - Chapter 2
Thanks to the powerful reach of the information network, Sang Yuan had found pheromone suppression patches to hide his identity as an Omega.
These patches could suppress pheromones so effectively that one wouldn’t be easily detected. As long as he perfectly avoided everyone when this body entered its heat cycle, he could spend his university years in peace. He wouldn’t have to suffer a tragic fate on campus like the original host of this body.
In his eyes, being an Omega was synonymous with “trouble.” If he weren’t an Omega, he wouldn’t have encountered that scumbag Lu Tian, nor would he attract the attention of other Alphas. Even if he were good-looking, he would undoubtedly be safe as long as he wasn’t an “O.”
In this godforsaken world, Sang Yuan just wanted to play it safe and keep his life. As for “marking” and all that—it was way too terrifying.
Sang Yuan reached Building B without a hitch, effortlessly carrying his suitcase up to the fourth floor.
Although this body was an Omega, ever since Sang Yuan took over, he had picked up his old martial arts routines. It had only been two months, but his training was already yielding significant results. A small suitcase was nothing to him.
Room 403.
Sang Yuan checked the room number. It sounded like someone was inside, so he gave the door a light tap. The voices inside paused, and the room went quiet.
The door opened quickly. Both men were momentarily stunned.
Sang Yuan originally thought he was quite tall, but the person who opened the door was an entire head taller than him. Standing in front of this man, Sang Yuan only came up to his shoulder.
A smile spread across Sang Yuan’s face. “Hello, I’m Sang Yuan. I’m staying in 403.”
The man nodded and stepped aside to let him in. “Ji Tang.”
There were two other people in the room. It was a quad dorm. Seeing Sang Yuan enter, the other two stood up. One of them gave Sang Yuan a gentle smile, his voice soft. “Hello, I’m Luo Xinghe.”
“I’m Liu Tiancheng,” the other person added quickly.
“Sang Yuan.” Although he was wearing the suppression patch, the collective scent of three Alphas made Sang Yuan feel a bit uneasy.
He calmly pulled his suitcase toward the only empty bunk. “I’m a Literature student assigned to this dorm. Are you all in the same major?”
“Not exactly. Ji Tang and I are in Astronomy, and Liu Tiancheng is in History,” Luo Xinghe explained warmly.
Liu Tiancheng rubbed his head and chuckled. “I was also assigned here randomly.”
As he spoke, he stole a glance at Sang Yuan. This guy is really good-looking, like a milky-white porcelain doll. He wondered if the guy had come to the wrong dorm—Omegas had their own dedicated buildings.
The natural suppression Alphas held over Omegas often made the latter feel insecure, so every school designated a specific building for the delicate Omegas. The main reason was to prevent chaos should an Omega’s heat cycle be handled improperly.
Noticing Liu Tiancheng’s scrutinizing gaze, Sang Yuan leaped down from the upper bunk. A beautiful mermaid line (obliques) flashed briefly from beneath his shirt as he gave a hearty laugh. “I’m a Beta.”
Liu Tiancheng had a moment of realization. Ah, that explains it. It was his first time seeing such a beautiful Beta.
A Beta? Ji Tang thoughtfully rubbed his fingers together. When they had brushed past each other earlier, he thought he smelled a hint of orange. The scent was very faint and vanished instantly.
Perhaps it was perfume? An orange-scented perfume was certainly unique.
They were all young students, though Sang Yuan felt a bit like he was “pretending to be young.” In the real world, he had already graduated university and was a trainee police officer about to enter the force.
However, that didn’t stop him from enjoying a second, different college experience. Sang Yuan was naturally optimistic; since he didn’t know if he could ever go back, he might as well focus on his current situation.
After he finished unpacking, his phone chimed.
[Class meeting tonight at 7:00 PM in Room 301, Liberal Arts Building. All students must attend.]
It was the class group chat he had joined via QR code at registration. A string of “Received” messages flooded the chat. Sang Yuan followed suit, sent a “Received,” and muted the notifications.
“I have a class meeting tonight. Do you guys have one too?” Sang Yuan locked his phone and looked at the other three.
“We have one too,” Luo Xinghe smiled. Liu Tiancheng nodded as well.
Freshmen usually had meetings on the night of registration regardless of their major.
“I heard tonight is mostly about picking up military training uniforms. Tomorrow, we’ll be hauled off to a closed base for training,” Liu Tiancheng said, looking mysterious. “Supposedly, our instructors this time are from the Special Forces.”
“How special?” Sang Yuan’s ears perked up instantly. He had been obsessed with martial arts in his past life, and hearing “Special Forces” made his radar ping.
Ji Tang looked at Sang Yuan. The “pretty” boy’s face was full of restless excitement.
“Like, the top-tier units of the country. No one knows why they were sent to be instructors this year,” Liu Tiancheng shook his head. “I bet our training is going to be brutal.”
Sang Yuan’s eyes sparkled with excitement. The blood in his veins was practically screaming. The top-tier units? I wonder if their combat prowess is also top-tier. I really want to spar with them.
“It’s about time for dinner. Want to go together?” Luo Xinghe checked the time.
“Sure! We can go straight to the meeting after eating,” Sang Yuan agreed readily. The others had no objections.
In the freshman packet, along with school info, there was a campus “All-in-One” card. It served as a pass for everything: eating, checking into class, and entertainment.
The four of them grabbed their cards and headed for the cafeteria. On the way, they turned a lot of heads.
Not only was Sang Yuan’s appearance deceptive—being incredibly soft and “moe”—but the other three were equally striking. Ji Tang was exceptionally handsome, and though his cold aura made him seem unapproachable, his scent as a top-tier Alpha commanded attention. Luo Xinghe served to soften the group’s icy edges with his gentle, scholarly smile. Even the most “ordinary” one, Liu Tiancheng, was handsome enough to stand out in a crowd, though his overly energetic eyes often distracted people from his looks.
The four of them walking together became a literal highlight of the campus.
“Mmm, let’s go to the Second Cafeteria.” Sang Yuan saw many recommendations for it on the school forum, and his cravings were already kicking in.
Aside from martial arts, his greatest love was food. Tirelessly exploring the delicacies of this world was one of his simple pleasures. Since the others didn’t have any specific preferences, Sang Yuan made the executive decision to head for the Second Cafeteria.
