Chapter 7 – Trending
In the end, Chi Zhaoying failed to maintain her facade of calm composure.
She couldn’t bear to demand anything more from the heiress. Her brows tightly furrowed, she immersed herself completely in the pleasure and thrust increasingly quickly into Yu Li.
“Sister, mmh… A-Chi, slow down…”
“I’m about to… I can’t take it…”
Yu Li clutched the blanket beneath her, moaning either softly or loudly with every impact from Chi Zhaoying.
Gentle, slightly hoarse, and seductive.
The little cake had already melted throughout Chi Zhaoying’s embrace.
Cream overflowed as its sweet fragrance spread freely.
Unable to resist, Chi Zhaoying lowered her head and kissed Yu Li’s neck again. She extended her tongue and licked the young woman’s skin with blatant eroticism.
She tasted the sweat glistening like stars upon it.
“Mmh… A-Chi.”
Yu Li raised her head slightly, left at a loss by such an intimate gesture.
Maintaining that position, Chi Zhaoying reached around and caressed Yu Li’s chest. The young Alpha was rather thin, and her breasts felt somewhat small within Chi Zhaoying’s palm, making her unable to resist squeezing them several more times.
She played with Yu Li’s nipple while accelerating her thrusts, pounding into her pussy and battering the tender flesh until juices dripped freely from between her folds.
The phone nearby vibrated once before automatically shutting down as its battery died. As the screen flickered, Chi Zhaoying’s arm trembled, sending her panting breath across Yu Li’s ear.
She thrust forcefully twice, driving Yu Li into orgasm.
Soft, gauze-like gasps overlapped in layers, revealing the unbearable wave of desire consuming the Alpha. Yu Li sobbed softly as tears and vaginal fluids flowed without restraint.
What followed was the prolonged mingling of their disordered breaths.
“Young Miss.”
Chi Zhaoying broke the post-sex silence.
“Call me by my name.” Yu Li was still panting heavily, her breathing uneven. After a pause, she spoke again.
“Yu… Young Miss.”
Chi Zhaoying opened her mouth but still failed to do as Yu Li wished.
Yu Li’s name rolled through her heart like a little cake covered in cream, tumbling around again and again before finally falling into its depths.
Yet Chi Zhaoying could only watch helplessly, not daring to reach out and retrieve it.
“…”
Yu Li rubbed her chin against the sheets and said nothing more.
“What time are you leaving tomorrow?” Chi Zhaoying licked her dry lips and asked.
“Eleven in the morning.”
A trace of reluctance flowed through Chi Zhaoying’s heart like clear water carried through bamboo.
Her lashes trembled. As always, she concealed the emotions Yu Li had stirred within her.
“Don’t exhaust yourself with work,” Chi Zhaoying said stiffly, unable to offer anything more.
“Mm.”
After their lovemaking, distance had returned to Yu Li’s voice, mingling with fragments of ice.
Chi Zhaoying couldn’t tell whether the heiress was merely tired or angry with her.
So she simply stopped thinking about it.
After all… only two years remained on their contract.
Two years from now, Yu Li would still be the lofty heiress of the Yu Corporation, someone who belonged to an entirely different world from Chi Zhaoying.
They would no longer have anything to do with each other.
“Remember to see a doctor. Continuing like this isn’t good for your health.”
Chi Zhaoying spoke while slowly withdrawing from Yu Li’s body.
“All right,” Yu Li answered softly, pulling the plush blanket around herself.
The little cake had been saturated with the Omega’s pheromones, allowing her rut to pass.
She once again became the cold moon among the clouds—the unattainable heiress standing high above everyone else.
Yu Li leaned against the headboard. The cold light from her phone screen fell across her face, making her skin appear even more jade-like and her features even more distant.
Her peach-blossom eyes no longer shimmered with desire. They had regained their clear, cool appearance.
The heiress lowered her lashes. Several traces of melancholy wandered between her brows, making her resemble a cold gemstone displayed behind layer upon layer of glass.
As Chi Zhaoying looked at her, her heart contracted with an indescribable ache.
When Chi Zhaoying woke, Yu Li had already left.
The room was empty. The space within her arms had long since grown cold, and even the cake’s creamy fragrance had faded until it was almost undetectable.
The milk tea beside the bed remained untouched. Not even the creases in its packaging had changed.
Only its warmth had silently disappeared.
Chi Zhaoying slowly opened her eyes.
Unexpectedly, she had overslept and even lingered in bed.
In a daze, she recalled the first time she met Yu Li.
Back then, she had been playing a role barely better than an extra. Her identity as an Omega had brought her no benefits whatsoever—
What benefits could being an Omega possibly bring?
After refusing all those invitations, she could only play physically demanding, nearly menial roles.
Later, she found a cat.
Then she met Yu Li.
At the time, Chi Zhaoying didn’t know why Yu Li had appeared on the set. However, as the heiress of the Yu Corporation, Yu Li naturally had countless people eager to ingratiate themselves with her and possessed an extensive circle of acquaintances.
Only later did Chi Zhaoying learn that the little princess of the music world possessed more than musical talent. She was also interested in screenwriting.
Coincidentally, the production Chi Zhaoying was filming and the production involving Yu Li’s mentor were shooting in the same area.
On that particular day, Yu Li hadn’t resembled the lofty heiress she was now, surrounded and adored by countless people.
As Chi Zhaoying left the set carrying the cat, she saw Yu Li sitting alone in a corner.
The young woman was breathtakingly beautiful. A single glance at her was like watching stars fall into the sea and dissolve into an aurora stretching thousands of feet.
Chi Zhaoying stared, momentarily entranced.
Then she saw the porcelain-like young woman smile at her.
“The kitten is so adorable.”
Her smile was faint, yet it illuminated the entire world around her, melting even the glaciers.
The cat brought Chi Zhaoying and Yu Li closer together.
Through it, Chi Zhaoying gained a friend who softened her heart whenever she thought of her.
Back then, she had genuinely considered Yu Li a trusted friend with whom she could share anything.
That situation didn’t last long.
A few days later, Yu Li proposed that arrangement to her.
The terms were tempting enough.
Yet they left Chi Zhaoying stunned for a long time.
She distinctly heard something shatter.
She had regarded Yu Li as a friend. She told Yu Li about her dreams, her past, and the future she envisioned.
Yu Li always tilted her head and listened, a faint smile resting on her lips.
But from the moment Yu Li proposed their transaction, everything changed.
So this person had harbored other intentions toward her all along.
She hadn’t simply wanted to become friends.
Children from wealthy families never took feelings seriously.
Chi Zhaoying pulled her lips into a vivid smile, but her heart grew cold.
From that moment onward, she continued addressing Yu Li as “Young Miss.”
Only Chi Zhaoying knew that the words no longer carried their former intimacy.
She dutifully placed herself in the position of one party in a transaction.
…
Chi Zhaoying pushed herself upright and sat against the headboard for a while. At that moment, her fully charged phone lit up.
Discarding those memories, she picked it up and opened her notifications.
Because Yu Li had been there, Chi Zhaoying hadn’t yet replied to the conversation following the birthday wishes her parents and younger brother had sent yesterday. Their messages now appeared in her notifications again.
After replying, Chi Zhaoying opened her conversation with Yu Li.
[Once you wake up, message this number. They’ll arrange for lunch to be delivered.]
A number was attached afterward.
Without hesitation, Chi Zhaoying added the number and informed the person that she was awake.
Just as she was about to shower, an incoming call appeared. Chi Zhaoying glanced at the caller’s name and answered.
“Xiao Yan.”
“Sister Zhaoying, you’re trending!” Xiao Yan’s anxious voice came through the receiver.
Her tone immediately confirmed that this wasn’t a positive trending topic.
Chi Zhaoying’s heart fell into disarray, and she unconsciously held her breath—
The only thing involving her that could be connected to negative news was her relationship with Yu Li.
“What’s trending?” Chi Zhaoying revealed nothing on her face. Her voice remained calm, merely becoming slower and softer as she asked.
“Well…” Xiao Yan paused, apparently checking the screen. “Your previous drama started airing a few days ago, remember? People are now shipping you and Ms. Pei!”
Chi Zhaoying’s fingertips loosened around her knuckles.
“The topic was suddenly pushed onto the trending list last night. The number of active fans shipping you two has already exceeded one hundred thousand…” Xiao Yan continued. “But we discussed this with them beforehand. The publicity team wasn’t supposed to promote you as a couple at all!”
“We just contacted the production team, and they confirmed that they weren’t behind it.”
“Could Pei Jing’s team have done it?” Upon learning that the matter had nothing to do with Yu Li, Chi Zhaoying immediately relaxed and casually asked another question.
“It doesn’t seem likely…” Xiao Yan answered slowly, clearly unsure how to handle the situation. “Ms. Pei has no reason to promote a pairing right now. It would do her more harm than good…”
That was true.
Chi Zhaoying’s career had risen steadily over the past two years. Her opportunities and fame were rapidly approaching those of an A-list celebrity. Her previous project had been a crime drama in which she and Pei Jing shared the leading roles.
Pei Jing was an award-winning television actress and the nation’s favorite female Alpha. Her popularity remained consistently high, so she naturally had no need to manufacture a pairing with Chi Zhaoying merely to generate attention.
While continuing the call, Chi Zhaoying picked up her tablet and opened the platform.
There, on the trending list, her name and Pei Jing’s appeared directly beside each other, followed by a fiery-red BOILING label.
Her thumb rubbed against the edge of the tablet.
Chi Zhaoying couldn’t help wondering…
Had Yu Li seen it?
