Best Actress Turns Into A Cat [Semi-Transmigration] - Chapter 2
Yin Liang did not get to feel smug for long before she was picked up.
“For the sake of us being fellow sufferers, I’ll adopt you…” Gui Nuo’s voice was as cool and clear as ever. Listening to it was like feeling a stream of clean water flow past one’s ears.
But to Yin Liang, there was only one feeling: “Who’s a fellow sufferer with you? You still haven’t said who that Lei Feng was who carried out justice on Heaven’s behalf!”
Unfortunately, what Gui Nuo heard was only the kitten’s weak little meows. She looked at the tiny bundle in her palm, and unexpectedly, her heart softened quite a bit.
Originally, Yin Liang was unwilling to be picked up by someone she hated. But the moment she came into contact with the warmth of that person’s palm, her body shamelessly rubbed against it. Then she obediently stayed in her hand. A wise woman did not fight when the odds were against her! Besides, it was only a rather realistic dream. What was there to be afraid of?
Yin Liang was even more convinced now that this was a dream. Although she did not know why she would have such a bizarre dream, once she was certain it was a dream, she felt relieved. The Gui Nuo in real life absolutely could not possibly know where she lived. There was no need for her to investigate it, either. Although their relationship was not good, it had not reached that point.
Besides, in real life, Gui Nuo would never come to a place like this.
Gui Nuo did not speak again. She simply sat there. Outside, the rain grew heavier and heavier, and Yin Liang felt colder and colder.
Seriously, it was only a dream. Why did she still have to feel so wronged? As Yin Liang thought this, her gaze shifted to Gui Nuo’s fluffy coat. This coat looked so familiar?!
Fluffy and soft. It must be very warm, right? Yin Liang felt that since this was all in her dream anyway, why should she mistreat herself?
Using the last bit of her strength, Yin Liang pounced into Gui Nuo’s coat, then curled up into a tiny ball. A wave of warmth rushed over her, carrying a familiar fragrance.
Yin Liang used her hand—no, her little paw—to touch her own nose. Hmph. Even her perfume was the same kind Yin Liang used!
Thinking of this, Yin Liang suddenly realized why she found this coat so familiar. It was because she had one too. But not now—before. Yin Liang found it a little strange. This was her dream, so why was she dreaming that Gui Nuo was wearing the same coat as her? Had Gui Nuo already left such a deep shadow in her heart? Even in a dream, she still had to steal things from her!
Gui Nuo looked at the kitten touching its own nose, then curling into a little ball, and suddenly thought of someone’s habitual gesture. The hand that had originally been about to toss out the little thing burrowing into her clothes stopped.
“Beep, beep, beep…” The sound of a car rang out. Yin Liang, who had been drifting in and out of sleep, barely opened her eyes. When she felt the fluffy texture around her, she thought, Why am I still in this dream?
“Why didn’t you bring your keys?” A deep male voice came over.
The moment Yin Liang heard a man’s voice, she instantly perked up. She had to see who exactly the Lei Feng in her dream was, the one who had carried out justice on Heaven’s behalf and abandoned Gui Nuo!
Yin Liang poked out her head and saw Gui Nuo’s manager holding up an umbrella. “I knew you definitely didn’t bring an umbrella. If the boss finds out, I’m definitely going to get scolded again.”
The man nagged for a couple more lines, only to realize Gui Nuo was not listening to him at all. She was merely looking expressionlessly at a lit window across the street. He could only shake his head.
Yin Liang lowered her head in disappointment. She had thought there would be gossip. She had not expected it to be this sharp-tongued manager. She had not forgotten how this poisonous-tongued manager had once scolded her!
When Gui Nuo stood up, she took Yin Cat out of her coat. Only then did the manager see the cat. “Where did this stray cat come from? Be careful, it might have something wrong with it.”
Hearing this, Yin Liang narrowed her eyes and looked at the manager. She wanted to rake a claw across that hateful face. Saying something like that to a cat—was he bullying cats specifically because cats could not resort to violence?
Gui Nuo looked at the man coldly. “The reason I keep you around is not so you can interfere in my private life.”
Her icy tone immediately shut the man up when he had still wanted to speak. Yin Liang stretched lazily in Gui Nuo’s hand. That was how it should have been from the start!
“…” The man glared fiercely at Yin Meow Meow, then held the umbrella and followed Gui Nuo out of the phone booth.
Yin Liang nestled in Gui Nuo’s hand and closed her eyes. She wanted to sleep for a while. She was too sleepy.
……
The reason Yin Liang woke up again was the aroma of food.
When Yin Liang opened her eyes, what she saw was a purple mountain. Dazed and still not fully awake, she was startled. Then, when she heard the sound she made out of fear, she finally remembered that she had turned into a cat.
Yin Liang’s meow drew Gui Nuo over, who had just carried the food out.
Gui Nuo glanced at the little cat on the sofa with all its fur puffed up. What was this? Had it been frightened by the sofa?
Yin Liang had already come back to her senses. When she turned around, she saw a scene that shocked her. Because just now, she had been facing the sofa, so she could not see the whole living room and could only see the sofa. Now, the moment she turned her head, she saw the entire living room—and expressed that her heart had suffered a blow!
“Sister Song! Sister Song! Why did you let this damn woman into the house!” Yin Liang reflexively called for Sister Song. Mainly, the familiar home and the unfamiliar sight of Gui Nuo wearing an apron formed a massive shock. Yin Liang expressed that she could not accept this!
But all she heard was meowing. Only then did Yin Liang remember that she was merely dreaming. Having a nightmare. According to this woman Gui Nuo’s habit of being one step above her in everything, it was perfectly normal for Yin Liang to dream that she had stolen her home too.
Gui Nuo walked over. “All right, I almost forgot about you, little thing.”
Although this was a dream, the hunger was real enough that Yin Meow Meow, who had originally been prepared to swipe a claw at Gui Nuo, became especially docile. Claw-swinging was physical labor. How could she do it without eating her fill first?
Although Gui Nuo looked cold and indifferent, she still gently and carefully picked up Yin Liang’s tiny body. “Let’s eat together. There’s no cat food at home, so you can eat with me.”
That was exactly the line Yin Liang had been waiting for. She did not want to eat cat food!
Yin Liang was placed on a chair. Looking at the bowl and chopsticks set on the other side of Gui Nuo, she felt a little puzzled. Was someone else coming? Why had Gui Nuo set out an extra bowl and pair of chopsticks?
Gui Nuo picked up a piece of meat for Yin Liang, then said, “Yin Liang, hurry and eat. Look how thin you are.”
Although her tone was icy, Yin Liang had no time to care about why that icy tone seemed to carry a trace of indulgence. Instead, she looked at Gui Nuo in terror.
How do you know I’m Yin Liang?!
In the end, she discovered that Gui Nuo was not looking at her at all. Instead, her gaze was gentle as she looked at that! Empty! Seat!
Yin Liang felt that the direction of this dream was truly becoming more and more bizarre!
She looked at the empty seat. She had indeed not seen wrong. There was nothing there. Then she looked at the indulgent-faced Gui Nuo again and instantly felt a ghostly chill.
Damn it! Are you practicing your acting skills or what?!
