Every Day I’m Reforming My Disciple [Transmigration into a Book] - Chapter 3
Han Le stood rooted in place, unmoved.
“Little Fatty!”
A woman’s voice rang out from inside the medicine hall. She wore gray cotton-linen clothes, and most of her hair was pinned up with a simple wooden hairpin.
With the little fox’s support, Chen Ju slowly got to her feet.
“Are any of you hurt?” The woman had originally wanted to chase after someone, but when she saw them, she immediately asked with concern.
Not far away, a chubby boy subdued someone in a few moves. He pulled an oil lamp out from the person’s robes. It glowed faintly, and inside it floated a severed fox tail.
“Youge, here.” Little Fatty tossed the oil lamp to the woman. The person he had caught suddenly struggled free and ran away. Little Fatty wanted to chase after him, but the woman stopped him.
“Little Fatty, forget it.”
The woman infused spiritual energy into the oil lamp. The lamp floated above Chen Ju and the little fox, releasing a green light that enveloped the two of them.
Xue Youge. Her mother had been a two-tailed fox. In order to reincarnate together with her husband, she gave up her chance at revival, severed her tail, and made it into this oil lamp, granting it the power of protection and healing. Xue Youge often used it to help the villagers, but because of that, others frequently tried to steal it.
After the light disappeared, the little fox said excitedly, “That’s amazing! Lili doesn’t hurt anymore! Thank you, Big Sister!”
Although the oil lamp had protective and healing abilities, its effect was only slight. Chen Ju’s body eased somewhat, but her wounds were still bleeding.
Xue Youge immediately supported her. “This young lady is seriously injured and needs to be bandaged at once. If you do not mind, you may come to my humble home and let Youge stop her bleeding.”
Han Le’s scrutinizing gaze remained on Chen Ju. She wanted to find some flaw on Chen Ju’s face, but gained nothing.
Xue Youge’s home was tucked away in a corner of the village. Little Fatty brought her many medicinal herbs.
“I’ll put all these on the table for you.”
“All right. Thank you, Little Fatty.”
“What are you thanking me for? If there’s nothing else, I’ll go back to work first.” As he spoke, he glanced at Han Le and the other two, then walked to Xue Youge’s side and whispered, “I think those three are pretty strange. Be careful by yourself at home. If anything happens, call me. I’ll be nearby.”
Xue Youge smiled. “Don’t worry, I’ll be careful.”
Chen Ju’s wounds were sword wounds. There were two of them: one on her arm and one on her chest.
To treat them, her clothes would have to be removed.
“I wonder if this young lady minds Youge treating your wounds?”
The little fox blinked and lay across the table. Before Chen Ju could speak, she rushed to answer, “Everyone here is a girl. Sister Ju won’t mind.”
Chen Ju’s eyes were as black as the night. She spat out two words. “Get out.”
The little fox failed to receive the signal properly. “Sister Ju, if you’re shy, Lili can cover her eyes~”
Xue Youge did not know what to do. She looked toward Han Le, who had been standing coldly to the side without saying a word.
“Youge is an outsider, so this is indeed a little rash. May I ask if this young lady can treat your companion’s wounds?”
“……”
Han Le met Chen Ju’s gaze and saw that the other woman was watching her with a faint smile, looking quite interested.
Han Le’s pupils shrank slightly. She let out a breath. “All right.”
Xue Youge told her the order for applying the medicine.
The little fox stared at the bottles and jars on the table, her large eyes full of curiosity. She wanted to watch how the medicine was applied, but Chen Ju glared at her angrily. The little fox touched her head, not understanding why Chen Ju was glaring at her, until Xue Youge pulled her out of the room.
So Sister Ju really was shy and did not want them to see. But they were all girls~
The little fox pouted unhappily.
After Han Le saw Xue Youge take the little fox out and close the door, she looked at the medicine jars on the table. After hesitating for a moment, she picked up the scissors placed beside them.
Chen Ju narrowed her dangerous eyes.
Was she finally unable to resist exposing her true nature?
“I still don’t know what Senior’s name is.”
Han Le turned around and raised the scissors in her hand. The blade was sharp. Chen Ju shifted backward, hiding one hand in her sleeve as the corners of her lips curved.
The instant the scissors pointed at her, a cold gleam flashed through her eyes—then she froze.
Snip.
It was the sound of fabric being cut open.
“Han Qu.”
Chen Ju’s body stiffened.
Han Le raised her head and met her eyes seriously. “My name.”
“……”
The air fell silent for a moment. Then Chen Ju’s body suddenly began to tremble uncontrollably, and a strange, muffled laugh rang out.
“You don’t believe me?” Han Le asked.
With laughter in the corners of her eyes, Chen Ju said, “I never expected it to be the famous Lady Spirit Maiden. Chen Ju has truly been disrespectful.”
Han Le threw the scissors onto the floor with a smack and directly used her hands to tear open Chen Ju’s clothes. The fabric stuck to her wounds was instantly ripped away by Han Le. Chen Ju hissed.
“Lady Spirit Maiden is rather violent. You seem a little different from the rumors.”
After receiving no answer for a long while, Chen Ju lowered her head, only to see the other woman staring at her chest with a blatantly direct gaze. At last, Han Le lifted her head.
“You’re quite fair.”
Chen Ju’s face instantly darkened. Fortunately, Han Le dodged quickly, or else Chen Ju’s kick would have landed on her.
“Cough, cough, cough.” Because her anger pulled at her wounds, Chen Ju began coughing violently. She glared at Han Le furiously. “Aren’t you going to come over and apply the medicine!”
Han Le picked up the medicine jars on the table and sprinkled them onto Chen Ju’s wounds one after another according to the order Xue Youge had explained. Her movements were rough and violent. Chen Ju bit her lip and nearly made a move.
When Han Le wrapped the bandages around her, she leaned very close. Strands of black hair brushed across Chen Ju’s cheek, making it itch a little.
Chen Ju lowered her eyes. Her gaze landed on Han Le’s heart. The hand that had been hanging at her side lifted silently, but suddenly, her chest tightened and her wound was violently tugged.
“Tch. Would it kill you to be gentler?”
Han Le wrapped the bandage around Chen Ju’s chest a few times. Afraid it would be too loose, she gripped both ends and pulled hard before tying it into a bow.
“Yes.” Han Le raised her head and said seriously, “I would die.”
Chen Ju immediately grew vigilant. Had she discovered something?
After bandaging Chen Ju, Han Le prepared to go out and pour herself a cup of tea. Remembering that Chen Ju had said she was thirsty earlier, her steps stopped at the doorway.
“Want water?”
Chen Ju was still thinking about whether she had exposed herself. Hearing Han Le’s words, she froze.
Was this person talking to her?
Asking whether she wanted water?
That face remained expressionless as Han Le stood at the door, waiting for her answer. She was indeed a little different from before.
……
Was she an idiot? She had definitely seen through something and wanted to poison the water. Drink water? Drink her ass.
“No,” Chen Ju said impatiently.
Lunatic. Han Le had kindly asked whether she wanted water. What kind of attitude was that? Han Le decided to ignore her.
After going outside, she happened to see Xue Youge rushing out in a hurry.
“What happened?” Han Le asked the little fox, who was standing by the threshold and looking into the distance.
“Ah, Senior, you came out. Sister Youge said the clan sent the Right Guardian here to investigate the villagers’ poisoning. Lili has grown this big and still has never seen an important figure from the clan before~” The little fox’s eyes were full of anticipation.
It seemed that because of the female lead’s unexpected rebirth, the person sent to the village this time had become the Right Guardian, Shi Yingying.
This woman was the only character in the original novel who liked women. A tiny glimmer appeared in Han Le’s eyes.
“Let’s go take a look.”
The little fox immediately cheered.
At the village entrance, not only the village chief, but almost all the poisoned villagers who could still move had gathered.
Xue Youge stood beside the village chief. Opposite them were five people in total.
The village chief was an elderly fox. Leaning on his cane, he carefully asked, “Guardian, only five people came?”
Shi Yingying wore red robes and had the standard fox-like eyes that could enchant all living beings.
“With this Guardian here, who else is needed? Bringing four more people is already giving you lowly foxes enough face.”
“Yes, yes, yes.” The village chief immediately lowered his head.
The villagers behind him did not dare breathe loudly. Shi Yingying’s aura was too sharp. Her cultivation was completely unconcealed, exposed with reckless arrogance as it pressed down on them.
Sweat appeared on Xue Youge’s forehead. Clearly, she could not withstand the pressure Shi Yingying was releasing.
“Right Guardian, our cultivation is shallow and our vision narrow. Your cultivation is profound and unfathomable. Please do not lower yourself to our level.”
Shi Yingying’s eyes instantly lit up. She withdrew the pressure she had released, and everyone immediately breathed a sigh of relief.
“You have a pretty little face. It rather suits this Guardian’s taste.”
Shi Yingying twisted her slender waist and walked forward gracefully. She reached out, wanting to lift Xue Youge’s chin. Xue Youge immediately stepped back, letting the touch brush her chin only for an instant.
“Please do not joke with Youge, Guardian.”
Shi Yingying was not angry. Her pink tongue stretched out and licked the finger that had touched Xue Youge’s chin.
“What a charming little treasure.”
Xue Youge furrowed her brows and suppressed her temper. Just as she was about to speak, an innocent voice came from behind her.
“Sister Youge~”
When the little fox saw Xue Youge, she immediately ran forward. Upon seeing Shi Yingying in front of her, she promptly hid behind Xue Youge, a little frightened.
“Is… is this the Guardian? She’s so beautiful.”
Although Shi Yingying was cruel, bloodthirsty, and killed without blinking, when she heard others praise her beauty, she would still soften for a moment and extend the other person’s life by a few seconds.
Seeing that Shi Yingying did not become angry at the little fox’s rudeness, Xue Youge immediately shielded the little fox behind her and signaled for her not to speak. The little fox obediently covered her mouth at once.
“All right. This Guardian is tired. Why don’t—”
The village chief immediately answered, “This humble one has already prepared a room for the Guardian. It is absolutely clean and comfortable.”
“Did this Guardian allow you to speak?”
Shi Yingying suddenly released a burst of power toward the village chief. The village chief spat out a large mouthful of blood. Xue Youge supported him in time, so he did not fall.
Shi Yingying walked up to her.
“Treasure, how about this Guardian sleeps in your bed tonight?”
Xue Youge’s eyes turned cold. “I may have to disappoint you, Guardian. There is no extra space on the bed in my home for you to rest.”
“Is that so? No one is willing to give up their spot?” A trace of venom appeared in Shi Yingying’s eyes.
“No! Sister Ju and Senior won’t give up their beds for you!” The little fox could tell that this Guardian was not a good person, so she immediately gathered her courage and shouted.
Shi Yingying instantly grabbed her.
“A lowly fox who can’t even retract her ears and tail dares to shout at this Guardian? You truly don’t know your place.”
“Bad woman, let me go! Let me go!” The little fox kept hitting Shi Yingying’s hand and cursing her.
“Guardian, Lili is still young and doesn’t—”
“Lili, come here.”
Just as Xue Youge anxiously opened her mouth, Shi Yingying’s chest was suddenly attacked. She staggered back sharply and released her hand.
“Who was it? Who dared sneak attack this Guardian from behind!”
The little fox, Lili, immediately ran backward.
“Senior!”
Han Le walked to the front of the crowd.
“You dare sneak attack me? Are you tired of liv—”
Once Shi Yingying saw Han Le’s appearance clearly, the final word got stuck in her throat.
One of the underlings behind her thought this was a good chance to perform and immediately shouted, “Ignorant rat! You dared sneak attack the Right Guardian! You simply don’t know death. Watch me teach you—”
“Shut up.” Shi Yingying’s expression was strange. “Did this Guardian allow you to speak? Get aside.”
With a dark expression, she walked over to the village chief, who was leaning on his cane and looking half-dead.
“Take me to my lodging.”
Xue Youge looked thoughtfully at Han Le, who stood nearby with an expressionless face.
The instant Han Le turned her head, her tense body immediately relaxed.
That scared me to death.
