Chapter 19

A black shadow swept through the night sky like a ghost.

The two people walking beneath the night sky immediately restrained their auras and exchanged a glance. Wen Wuning said, “You go back first.”

After saying that, she flew after the black shadow.

When she landed lightly on a rooftop, another figure silently landed beside her. Wen Wuning turned her head and glanced over. In the darkness, Junior Sister’s eyes were especially bright.

She suddenly remembered how, in the mustard-seed space, Junior Sister had hidden with her alone for two days. Only a few months had passed, yet she had nearly forgotten that this junior sister possessed decisiveness and experience that did not match her age.

Wen Wuning said nothing more and tacitly allowed Lan Fei’er to stay.

Under the cover of night, the two followed the black shadow from a distance.

After leaving the Wen family, the black shadow headed south. They realized that it seemed to be heading toward the Lin family.

The ruined Lin residence was just ahead. Just when they thought the black shadow was about to enter, it suddenly turned and changed direction. The two were startled, thinking they had been discovered, and stopped. Lan Fei’er already had thoughts of retreating, but Wen Wuning did not.

In truth, Lan Fei’er was also unwilling to give up. So she discussed it with Wen Wuning and continued following, only this time keeping an even more conservative distance. If anything unexpected happened, they would flee immediately and absolutely avoid a direct confrontation.

What a joke. That was the protagonist. If they clashed directly, the female lead could still take him head-on, but she, a passerby extra, would only have the fate of cannon fodder.

In the end, the black shadow entered an ordinary residence.

The two prepared to wait outside until the black shadow left before going in to see if there was anything special inside.

But they waited and waited for nearly half an hour, yet still did not see the black shadow come out.

They quietly climbed over the wall into the courtyard. There was only one room in the courtyard with light inside.

The thin paper window could not block the heavy, rough sounds of sex coming from the room. The two people who had just reached the window froze.

Lan Fei’er clicked her tongue inwardly. In truth, she and Wen Wuning had already guessed that the black shadow was Sheng Baihe.

It was the middle of the night. She had guessed that Sheng Baihe might have come out to meet a bed partner, but she had not expected that this unreliable guess would actually be true.

They were both untouched maidens who had never experienced such things, but Lan Fei’er had seen her share of storms, so she could still remain calm. She just did not know how Wen Wuning would react.

She turned her head and looked at Wen Wuning. Under the light leaking out from the window, Wen Wuning’s face had indeed turned red. For an instant, her expression was stunned, but then she returned to normal. She merely looked a little uncomfortable and had no other reaction, such as the anger of catching an adulterer in the act.

Wen Wuning was already uncomfortable to begin with, and Junior Sister kept staring at her nonstop. She raised a hand and turned Lan Fei’er’s face away, while she herself stood up as if to conceal her discomfort and looked inside the room.

This movement had been instinctive. By the time Wen Wuning reacted, she was already riding a tiger and could not get down. She could only brace herself and lean forward to peek at the scene inside.

Her reaction made Lan Fei’er find it amusing. After all, in Lan Fei’er’s world, even elementary school students were not as pure as Wen Wuning.

Wen Wuning looked inside the room and suddenly showed a surprised expression. Lan Fei’er did not know what she had seen, so she lifted her head and leaned over as well.

When she saw the situation inside the room, she could not help falling silent.

They had thought wrongly. Hearing the sounds inside, they had preconceived that the male lead inside was Sheng Baihe.

At a glance, there were actually five or six naked, burly men inside the room. They were having deep, heated exchanges with a woman on the bed, busy in full swing. Sheng Baihe was also in the room, but he was not among that group.

Sheng Baihe sat at a distance, admiring the erotic scene on the bed.

Tsk, tsk! She had not expected Sheng Baihe to have this kind of fetish too.

If she kept watching, she would get a stye. Lan Fei’er gently tugged Wen Wuning, signaling for her to leave, but Wen Wuning grabbed her hand instead and signaled for her to look carefully. Seeing Wen Wuning suddenly become serious, Lan Fei’er leaned over again.

Aside from the woman on the bed seeming not quite enthusiastic enough, she did not notice anything.

“Listen.”

The tip of Lan Fei’er’s ear heated faintly. She turned to look at Wen Wuning, only to see that Wen Wuning’s face was completely serious. She did not seem to feel there was anything wrong with speaking in a breathy whisper beside someone’s ear.

Under Wen Wuning’s gaze, Lan Fei’er focused on the sound this time. The sight was more impactful than the sound, but the sound was more ambiguous and erotic than the sight.

Lan Fei’er touched her slightly hot ear. If she did not understand Wen Wuning’s character, she would almost think this was some kind of hint.

The woman inside was Lin Niaoniao.

Wen Wuning suddenly remembered that Junior Sister had not met Lin Niaoniao many times and might not remember her voice at all. She took Junior Sister’s hand and wrote the character “Lin” on her palm.

From what Father Wen and Elder Brother had said, everyone in the Lin family had already been executed that night. Why was Lin Niaoniao still here? And appearing in such a strange way?

The activity on the bed ended with one burly man’s final passionate thrust. The five or six men each picked up their clothes with satisfied expressions and left the room. Lin Niaoniao was left naked on the bed in a twisted, undignified posture, lying on bedding covered in traces of sex.

“Have you been fed enough?” [bailiantales.com]Sheng Baihe, who was sitting on the chair, finally spoke. He asked with a smile.

When the person on the bed heard his voice, her breathing became chaotic, her chest rising and falling violently.

“Didn’t you want men?” Sheng Baihe stood and walked over, his eyes filled with darkness. “I’ll let you taste your fill before you die.”

Lin Niaoniao took a heavy breath, then suddenly expelled a murky breath from her chest. She stared at the man standing by the head of the bed and screamed with a madman’s resentment, “Sheng Baihe, I was blind! You’re nothing but a beast in human clothes!”

“You climbed into the bed of a beast in human clothes of your own accord. Then what are you? A lowly thing?”

“You! Sheng Baihe, you’ll die a terrible death!”

“I’m afraid that wish of yours will fall through.” Sheng Baihe smiled wickedly. A small round pot appeared in his hand. He tilted the opening downward, and a round object fell onto Lin Niaoniao’s belly. As soon as it landed, its body unfolded, becoming a fat, plump, long strip that was thick in the middle and thin at both ends.

Feeling something cool wriggling on her belly, Lin Niaoniao screamed in terror, “What is that?!”

“I prepared it specially for you. Finding this thing took me quite a bit of effort.” Sheng Baihe casually tossed the round pot onto the bed, then flicked his finger and struck two of Lin Niaoniao’s acupoints from afar. Lin Niaoniao’s eyes widened in horror. Her limbs, whose meridians had already been destroyed, twisted weakly.

“I’ve sealed your seven orifices and your Shenque acupoint. This little treasure will find an entrance on its own and burrow into your body, then build a nest and lay eggs inside you. Tell me, which place do you think it will crawl into?” Sheng Baihe smiled sinisterly.

“In less than two hours, your body will nurture more than a hundred worms. They will crawl into every corner of your body and eat you until not even your bones remain, and you won’t be able to die until the very last moment.” Lin Niaoniao’s terrified appearance made Sheng Baihe laugh joyfully.

“This is the consequence of scheming against me. Enjoy the process properly.” Seeing that the fat worm had already found an entrance and was crawling inside, Sheng Baihe threw his head back and laughed loudly, then pushed open the door and left.

After Sheng Baihe left, Wen Wuning immediately broke through the window and entered. Lan Fei’er followed close behind.

The expression on Lin Niaoniao’s face was savage, but because her seven orifices had been sealed, she could not make any sound at all.

Seeing the two people suddenly appear by the bed, her eyes filled with hatred and madness, yet she could not utter a single word.

Wen Wuning’s gaze swept over her body. She raised her hand and flicked a finger, unsealing Lin Niaoniao’s seven orifices.

“Wen Wuning, I hate you!!”

Lan Fei’er turned to look at Wen Wuning and found that there was no extra emotion on her face. No pity, no gloating, and no anger.

“I told you before. Sheng Baihe is not the upright gentleman he appears to be on the surface.”

Wen Wuning’s tone was calm, but it successfully made Lin Niaoniao fall silent. Perhaps she had remembered the slap she had given Wen Wuning back then.

But then Lin Niaoniao immediately seemed to think of something and said hatefully, “So what! He likes you! He would never treat you like this! Why? How am I inferior to you? Why do I have to suffer like this…”

Lin Niaoniao had been spoiled and pampered all her life. She had never suffered hardship and had rarely been wronged. If she had died together with everyone else in the Lin family back then, that would have been better. At least she would have died with dignity and would not have had to suffer this kind of torment.

A delicate flower in full bloom had been plucked, thrown to the ground, and trampled.

When a person was about to die, even the vilest words carried a hint of sorrow, making others unwilling to argue with her anymore.

Seeing that Wen Wuning had no reaction, Lin Niaoniao suddenly began crying as she spoke. The always arrogant and willful Lin Niaoniao was now sobbing with tears and snot running down her face, crying like a child in front of two outsiders.

“I’m so stupid. I was the one who led the wolf into the house and harmed Grandfather… I don’t want to die, sob, sob… I’m afraid of pain, sob, sob… Why me…”

Only Lin Niaoniao’s unrestrained crying filled the room. This might be the last time she could cry so freely.

Lan Fei’er turned her head and looked at Wen Wuning, only to see her eyes lowered slightly and her face expressionless, making it impossible to guess what she was thinking.

“Ah—” Lin Niaoniao suddenly let out a scream.

A bulge had appeared on her belly, as if something was moving inside.

“It hurts. It hurts—”

“Senior Sister, let’s go.” Lan Fei’er knew that Wen Wuning staying here now was definitely not because she wanted to admire Lin Niaoniao’s painful expression. She wanted to save Lin Niaoniao. The moment Sheng Baihe left just now, Wen Wuning had rushed in because she had wanted to save her before the worm entered Lin Niaoniao’s body. But it was too late. Even if they stayed here now, it would be useless.

At this moment, Lin Niaoniao’s reaction was what someone her age should have when faced with everything that had happened. She was afraid, helpless, and crying loudly. Compared to her previous arrogant and unreasonable appearance, this made her much easier to pity.

“You go out first.”

Wen Wuning finally spoke, but Lan Fei’er had not expected her to say this. She opened her mouth, wanting to say something to persuade Wen Wuning, but saw that Wen Wuning’s eyes were deep and dark. No matter how good a relationship between people was, there were still boundaries. Just like with Wen Wuning right now, Lan Fei’er knew she should not say anything more.

She turned and left the room, closing the door behind her. Holding her sword, she leaned half against the doorframe and watched as the moon in the sky gradually hid behind the clouds.

“Ah—”

When the moon was completely hidden, a cry of pain a hundred times more miserable than before came from inside the room.

The crying and screaming lasted for around ten minutes before gradually stopping. But Wen Wuning did not come out until half an hour later.

The door opened, and a thick smell of blood surged out from inside. Lan Fei’er turned her head slightly in discomfort. Wen Wuning stood in the doorway, covered in half-dried blood. Both her hands had lost their original skin color entirely, and blood seemed to still be dripping from them.

Wen Wuning stood blankly in the doorway for two seconds before turning her head [Read on BaiLianTales]to look at Lan Fei’er. She said to her,

“You don’t need to go with me on the trip to Lingyun Mountain. Stay in the Wen family. I will have Father look after you. I will set off tomorrow. Help me deal with what’s inside.”

“Senior Sister.” Lan Fei’er called out to Wen Wuning, who was striding away. Looking at the blood covering her body, Lan Fei’er said, “Go back and clean yourself properly. Her blood may not be clean.”

Wen Wuning nodded and strode away.

Watching her departing back, Lan Fei’er stood there for a long time before finally turning and entering the room.

The bed looked like the scene of a murder. The bedding was soaked through, and blood on the floor was still spreading in every direction. The person on the bed was covered with an outer robe. The clothes were also completely soaked and stuck to her body, and the pits and hollows beneath them could be seen.

Why bother?

Knowing clearly that she could not be saved, yet still dirtying her own hands.
