OO Romance—The Yuri Of All Yuri! - Chapter 7
Cen Qingke opened the door with a hangover. Judging by her sleepy, bleary-eyed appearance, she had clearly just gone back to sleep after waking earlier.
Su Yi was not very familiar with Cen Qingke. Her understanding of Cen Qingke was limited to rumors in the circle and the few conversations they had exchanged at public events.
To be fair, the Cen Qingke she had seen before did not quite match the rumored image of a person steeped in every vice.
The Cen Qingke she had met was dignified, capable, and extremely well-mannered. She did not deliberately try to get close to Su Yi, nor did she rudely pry. She handled distance very well, at least well enough not to annoy Su Yi.
But one could not judge a person by appearances. The surface alone could not prove anything.
Likewise, rumors were not necessarily trustworthy either.
Originally, whether it was rumors about Bian Lu, rumors about Cen Qingke, or rumors about anyone else, Su Yi had always taken an attitude of indifference. Believe them or not—it had nothing to do with her.
Because none of those people were important enough for her to bother judging.
That had been true before, and it was naturally still true now. Temporarily being in Bian Lu’s body did not change that.
However, even if she did not bother judging, the truth kept smashing itself in front of her eyes.
For example, right now.
Cen Qingke was glaring at her with an unfriendly expression. That gaze was like someone looking at a watchdog they kept at home. There was no affection in it, only disgust, along with the condescension of an owner looking down from above.
The dignified, capable, well-mannered Second Miss Cen?
Heh.
Su Yi disliked the look in Cen Qingke’s eyes very much.
She frowned slightly, then heard Cen Qingke question her the moment she opened her mouth.
“Who touched your phone today?”
“No one.”
“Impossible! That message couldn’t have been sent by you!”
Impossible?
What made it impossible? Who did she think she was? Could Bian Lu not curse at her?
Su Yi deliberately asked, “What message?”
Cen Qingke’s expression stiffened. Clearly, she did not want to repeat words that had insulted her in front of an omega she looked down on.
“Why are you asking so much? Just remember this. From now on, no one is allowed to touch your phone. If it happens again, I won’t be this easy to talk to.”
Cen Qingke let go of the door handle and turned back to sit on the sofa. Hugging a cushion, she leaned against the sofa back, crossed her legs, closed her eyes, and rubbed her temples with a frown. The hem of her skirt fell over her jade-white calves.
“I’m hungry. Hurry up and cook. I have a meeting this afternoon. I can’t be late.”
Su Yi looked at that alpha sitting high above and issuing orders, and found it ridiculous.
So she really thought that morning’s message telling her to go eat dog food from a dog bowl had been sent by someone else?
It seemed that Bian Lu usually treated Cen Qingke like an ancestor to be worshiped. Even after receiving a message insulting her, Cen Qingke’s instinctive reaction was to assume it could not have been sent by Bian Lu herself.
Although it truly had not been, that was only subjectively speaking. Objectively, it had still been sent by Bian Lu’s body.
Putting that aside, was the matter just over like this?
Although it was not some major incident, according to Cen Qingke’s logic, since she believed the message had not been sent by Bian Lu, then someone else must have touched Bian Lu’s phone—and done so secretly behind Bian Lu’s back.
Someone had casually messed with her little lover’s phone and deliberately tried to drive a wedge between them. Shouldn’t she investigate?
Was she comfortable leaving such a person by her little lover’s side?
Although keeping lovers was nothing unusual in the circle, and very few people truly cared about those lovers, no one could tolerate sand in their eyes. When a trick was played right in front of them, they would usually still interfere, at least to stop the person from continuing to stir up trouble.
Cen Qingke did not care at all.
It seemed that, in Cen Qingke’s heart, Bian Lu’s status was not even that of a lover. Just as Cen Qingke’s gaze suggested, she did not regard Bian Lu as a person at all.
At the thought that the shell Su Yi was currently inhabiting was a dog others could toy with at will, the disgust she had barely suppressed after bathing surged up again.
That sticky, nauseating feeling made her not want to remain in this body for even one more minute. She wanted to peel off this layer of skin. She wanted to vomit.
Her mind was filled with images from those little films: an omega in heat kneeling before an alpha, shamelessly posing and wagging her tail without a shred of dignity.
Disgusting.
How many alphas had Bian Lu had?
Cen Qingke was one. That bald man might have been another. There were also the rumored alpha junior, the beta security guard…
Su Yi could not remember how many there were.
Stomach acid churned inside her. She pressed her lips tightly together and forced herself not to throw up.
Why exactly was she standing here?
Why was she meeting this disgusting woman’s patron on her behalf?
What had that woman said on the way here just now?
No matter what Cen Qingke asked her to do, she should just do it?
Then what if Cen Qingke asked her to do that kind of thing? Did Bian Lu think everyone was as shameless as she was?!
Even if this was not Su Yi’s own body, she would never abandon her dignity and submit beneath any alpha!
Su Yi had always kept her word. She had promised to come see Cen Qingke, and she had come.
As for the rest, she had not agreed to anything, and she had no need to do it.
Suppressing the discomfort that made her want to vomit, Su Yi did not even step through the door. She turned and left.
Seeing her inexplicably walk away, Cen Qingke chased after her in confusion. She reached out, wanting to grab Su Yi’s arm, but Su Yi dodged smoothly.
When had Bian Lu developed such quick reflexes?
Cen Qingke paused for a moment, then relied on the natural height and long legs of an alpha to take two quick steps and block her path.
“I told you to cook. Didn’t you hear me?”
Su Yi sneered. “Didn’t I tell you this morning? If you want food, go find it in the dog bowl. Don’t tell me you need me to personally pour it into your mouth too. That isn’t impossible, but that would be a separate fee. After all, professional feeders work very hard these days. Who would feed you for free?”
Cen Qingke’s eyes widened slightly in disbelief. Reflected in her pupils was Bian Lu’s face—a face that looked pitiful even when heartless.
“You sent that message?!”
“Who else?”
Cen Qingke stared at her through gritted teeth. Her pupils held the unique darkness of an alpha, so black it seemed as if all the evil in the world had melted into them, without the slightest trace of kindness.
“I don’t believe it. Did he threaten you again?”
“No one threatened me. I just think you’re disgusting, and I don’t want to continue this relationship anymore.”
“You think I’m disgusting? Heh. Heh-heh. Back then, you were the one who begged me!”
Cen Qingke forcibly suppressed her anger and glared at Su Yi in frustration.
One had to admit that Cen Qingke really was good-looking. Her eyes were deep, her nose bridge high, her lips thin and red. Her bob was neat and capable, flattering the shape of her face, making her features look even more refined and her neck even longer. Even with such an angry expression, she was still pleasing to the eye.
Those features matched the preferences of most omegas, including betas. No wonder Bian Lu had followed Cen Qingke so devotedly for more than two years. It probably had not only been for money. That face must have played a part too.
Cen Qingke took a deep breath and suddenly let out a derisive laugh, as if she did not believe Su Yi was sincere at all.
Mockingly, she said, “Whether you’re playing hard to get or you truly want to end things, we’re over now. Remember what you just said. If you still have even the slightest bit of shame, don’t ever come begging me again!”
With that, Cen Qingke turned back into her apartment without the slightest hesitation and slammed the door shut with a bang.
Su Yi stepped into the elevator amid the sound of the slammed door, went all the way down, left the apartment building, and walked along the fairly well-built shaded path out of the residential compound.
When she returned to the car and fastened her seat belt, Bian Lu was sitting in the passenger seat, carefully trying to read her expression.
Su Yi stared straight ahead as she turned the key, released the handbrake, shifted gears, and stepped on the clutch.
“Stop looking. I met her.”
“And then?”
“She told me to cook for her. I refused.”
“Oh.” To Su Yi’s surprise, Bian Lu’s voice was very calm. “You don’t know how to cook. Refusing is refusing.”
“How do you know I don’t know how to cook?”
Su Yi never discussed her private affairs with others. The number of people who knew she could not cook could be counted on one hand. Even if those people were loose-lipped, the information should not have reached Bian Lu, who had nothing to do with her.
“I guessed.”
Bian Lu answered quickly and even added an explanation.
“A young lady like you probably wouldn’t deliberately learn how to cook unless you were especially interested in it.”
Someone else might have believed that.
Su Yi absolutely would not.
“She doesn’t know how to cook, so she refused.” This cause-and-effect relationship had the cause first and the result second. Only if Bian Lu had known the “cause” in advance would she be unsurprised by Su Yi’s refusal.
If it were only a guess, Bian Lu would not have used such a certain tone, nor would she have been so calm. After all, Su Yi had refused the patron Bian Lu valued so much.
Conclusion: Bian Lu had already known Su Yi could not cook.
It was only a tiny, insignificant matter. So what if she knew? So what if she did not? At most, it meant Bian Lu had told a harmless little lie.
But often, one could see the bigger picture from the smallest detail. What appeared to be an insignificant matter might be the key.
Bian Lu said she knew nothing about the body swap. Did she truly know nothing?
For something like swapping bodies, any normal person would feel at least somewhat uncomfortable. Even Su Yi, who usually managed her emotions fairly well, could not help feeling irritable. So why could Bian Lu stay so calm? And why did she even seem rather happy?
Even if Bian Lu truly knew nothing about the body swap itself, what about after the swap?
Su Yi did not like casually speculating about other people, but under the current circumstances, she had no choice but to speculate first.
Based on what she currently knew, Bian Lu was someone who could easily sell herself for money. Faced with all the assets of the Su family, would Bian Lu not be tempted?
“If people do not offend me, I do not offend them”—that was the conduct of a gentleman. Su Yi had never been a gentleman. She only knew that strangling every possible threat to herself in the cradle was the best way to remain undefeated.
Even putting aside those deeper issues, the fact that she hated Bian Lu was already established. Since she hated her, there was no reason to let someone she hated have an easy time.
The enemy’s anguished wails were the most beautiful music, weren’t they?
Su Yi turned the steering wheel and slowly drove onto the road. Calmly, she said, “Not only did I refuse her, I also told her that if she wanted to eat, she should eat from the dog bowl. I’m not responsible for pouring dog food into her mouth.”
As soon as those words came out, Bian Lu’s expression visibly changed.
“What did you say?!”
This was already unbearable for her?
Su Yi had not even dropped the real bomb yet.
Without a shred of pity, she continued, “I’ve already severed your relationship with her for you. From now on, you won’t need to beg me to see her on your behalf anymore. You’re completely free. No need to thank me too much.”
“You!”
How was that?
Was she furious?
The angrier Bian Lu became, the more satisfied Su Yi felt. Get angrier. Someone like her, who could even sell her own body, was not worthy of the slightest sympathy.
And this was only the beginning.
Before, Su Yi had been too shocked and her mind had been muddled. But now she was clear-headed. She would never show Bian Lu the slightest bit of softheartedness again.
Su Yi quietly waited for Bian Lu to be unable to accept it. Waited for Bian Lu to question why she had done such a thing, so that she could smoothly mock Bian Lu a few more times.
But after waiting for quite a while, Bian Lu only looked her up and down without saying a single word.
“What are you looking at? Who stares at themselves like that? Are you a narcissist?”
Her tone was unfriendly, but Bian Lu seemed not to hear it. Her gaze swept over Su Yi several more times before she finally spoke.
“Are you all right? Did anything happen?”
What could possibly happen to her?
“I was fine originally. But if you keep distracting me while I’m driving, that might change!”
Bian Lu let out a breath of relief and leaned back properly against the seat.
“It’s good that you’re fine. Her temper isn’t very good. I was afraid she might lose control and hurt you.”
What?
Su Yi instinctively tightened her grip on the steering wheel.
She was afraid Cen Qingke would hurt her?
She was not worried about losing her patron, but worried about… Su Yi?
Calm down, Su Yi!
Do not waver just because of one casual sentence. Who knew if she was like a weasel paying respects to a chicken, harboring no good intentions?
Su Yi shifted her attention and asked, “Has she hit you before?”
“It doesn’t really count as hitting. She just likes throwing things at people when she loses her temper.”
“Throwing things at people?” Su Yi laughed from anger. “Isn’t that hitting? It isn’t only hitting if it lands. It isn’t only hitting if a fist falls on your body. As long as the harm comes from her hand, that’s hitting!”
“Oh. Then she has hit me.”
Bian Lu admitted it so readily, without hiding anything or stubbornly resisting, that Su Yi choked for a moment. Suddenly, she did not know whether she should gloat over it or be angry that Bian Lu had no backbone.
“She treats you like that, and you still obey her every word. Just how badly do you need money?”
“It has nothing to do with money.”
Nothing to do with money?
A whore still wanted to set up a chastity arch. If she had honestly admitted it, Su Yi might have thought a little better of her.
Mockingly, Su Yi said, “Aren’t lovers all in it for money? Don’t tell me it’s for love.”
As if she could not hear the mockery, Bian Lu answered seriously, “If you say it was for love… that works too.”
Su Yi’s face went completely cold.
“What a pity, then. I’ve already broken things off for you and the patron you ‘love.’”
Bian Lu pressed her temples, seemingly rather troubled by this result.
“It’s not what you think. Actually, it was for my mom.”
For… her mother?
Heh.
Su Yi stepped on the brake and waited for the red light not far ahead. She turned to look at Bian Lu. Even with Bian Lu’s wet, deer-like eyes, that icy gaze was still like cold stars in a dark night, utterly devoid of warmth.
“Don’t tell me you’re about to tell me some story about your mother being seriously ill and urgently needing money, so you had no choice but to sign a contract selling yourself to some domineering CEO, or some childbirth agreement? Even melodramatic novels don’t write things that way anymore. I advise you to be careful.”
“Of course not. Actually, I…”
Knock, knock!
The car window was suddenly tapped.
Outside the window, a traffic officer stood there with a businesslike expression. Watching as Su Yi slowly rolled down the window, he gave a professional smile.
“Please show me your driver’s license.”
