Returning to the Villain Omega's High School Days - Chapter 12
Xie Ning looked through the car window.
Her heart suddenly sped up, and a whirlwind of emotions swirled in her eyes.
Their gazes met, and she forgot what to say, what she was supposed to say.
Uncle Ling stopped the car and switched the high beams to low beams.
The light shone on the girl, making her look so lonely and pitiful.
She thought it was just a normal car passing by and couldn’t help but look it over.
When the lights changed, Su Wan clearly saw the two people in the car.
One of them was the Su family’s housekeeper, Aunt Zhang.
She nervously stood up, clapped her hands, and a cloud of dust flew up.
She coughed, held on to the things she had bought, and looked at the person getting out of the car with a reserved expression.
Aunt Zhang pushed the car door open and shone her phone’s flashlight on Su Wan.
The middle-aged woman’s plump face opened and closed as she pointed at her and said, “You little rascal, I knew it! Why did it take you two hours to buy flour? It turns out you were hiding here playing with flour? You had me and Madam worried for so long. Tell me, did you do this on purpose?!”
Su Wan’s face was somber.
She stood straight and tall, with her head down, looking up at Aunt Zhang.
She didn’t say a word.
She was less than 5’3″ now, and her frame was very slender.
The pants looked baggy on her.
Aunt Zhang walked over and patted her a couple of times, and she swayed a little.
“Look at all this dust on you, this dust!” Aunt Zhang used a lot of force.
Each pat raised a thick cloud of dust.
As she patted, she said, “This is flour, isn’t it?! Isn’t it?! Look, how am I supposed to wash this off? Am I supposed to scrub it by hand? This is your school uniform for tomorrow! How can I wash this?!”
The 160-pound middle-aged woman was twice Su Wan’s weight.
With every slap, it was as if she was trying to grind Su Wan’s bones to dust.
It made Su Wan curl up, hunching her shoulders.
She blinked and her eyelashes trembled, just like a kitten.
She looked terrified.
She had only been in the Su family for a few days, and she had no one she was close to.
Some people were polite to her on the surface, but secretly, they looked for ways to make things difficult for her.
Aunt Zhang always liked to hit her this way.
She would hit her more lightly when others were watching, but because of all the beatings, Su Wan already had bruises on her shoulders.
She actually wanted to leave, but she didn’t know the way.
She had walked along the road from the community for almost an hour, but when it got dark, the road still looked the same, so she had to turn back.
The Su family wasn’t kind to her; she could tell.
The man who brought her back was her biological father, but she had only met him once.
Her mother seemed nice and gentle, but she wouldn’t even look at her.
Her attention was always on the other two people.
They told her to call Su Xingheng “brother” and Su Jin “sister.”
She couldn’t bring herself to do it, and her mother treated her even worse because of it.
Her mother was a very gentle person.
If only she would give her a little attention.
Aunt Zhang raised her hand to continue hitting her hard.
Just as she was about to deliver the third blow, Su Wan trembled and squinted, seeing a figure rushing over from the corner of her eye.
Like a wolf, she quickly yanked Aunt Zhang away from her!
Xie Ning ran forward, using her momentum.
She grabbed Aunt Zhang’s clothes on her back and pulled her to the side.
“Thump!”
The plump woman was pushed away.
Her body tilted to one side like a roly-poly toy.
She stumbled a few steps, her vision swimming, and she lost her balance, finally toppling over headfirst into a bush.
She let out a miserable shriek.
Everyone was stunned by Xie Ning’s action.
Aunt Zhang was a strong woman and didn’t look like someone who could be pushed over so easily.
And Xie Ning’s body was so slender… she should have differentiated into a frail Omega!
Uncle Ling became nervous.
He got out of the car, walked around the front, and came over, but Xie Ning waved her hand, telling him not to come and help.
All her attention was on Su Wan.
She wondered how to approach her.
Would she remember what happened in their past lives?
Xie Ning licked her tongue, wanting to speak but hesitating.
Su Wan didn’t seem to have any emotion.
She kept her eyes down, only looking at the half-inch of ground in front of her shoes, and didn’t meet Xie Ning’s gaze.
The woman on the side was still wailing.
Half of her body was stuck in the bush.
The thin branches had scratched her skin.
She was stuck and couldn’t move, so she cried out, “Help! Liu Wan, come over here and help me!”
Xie Ning was annoyed by the noise.
She saw Aunt Zhang’s butt facing her, so she lifted her foot and gave that very bouncy area a playful kick, letting out a mocking laugh.
Su Wan was about to go and pull Aunt Zhang up.
When she saw Xie Ning kick her butt, she was completely shocked, and her eyes widened.
Aunt Zhang cried out in pain.
She kept kicking her legs on the ground, but she was too fat, and her feet kept slipping.
It looked ridiculous.
Su Wan couldn’t help but smile a little.
When Xie Ning heard the laugh, she immediately turned her head.
When she looked at Su Wan, Su Wan had already hidden her smile, but there was still a hint of amusement in her eyes.
So, her Wanwan used to be someone who loved to laugh.
Xie Ning stared at Su Wan, and the girl became flustered, as if she had done something wrong.
She put on a straight face and lowered her head again.
Uncle Ling, seeing that Xie Ning was taking things too far, cleared his throat and called her name, “Xie Ning.”
As soon as those two words were spoken, Xie Ning noticed a subtle change in Wanwan’s expression.
She was slightly startled and secretly glanced at Xie Ning again.
Their eyes met, and Su Wan’s heart couldn’t calm down.
She didn’t know why, but when she heard the name “Xie Ning,” it felt incredibly familiar.
It was as if she had thought about that name countless times in a dream, yet she couldn’t remember anything about it.
She also didn’t understand what was going on with Xie Ning’s gaze when she looked at her.
Upon closer inspection, it seemed as if she knew her.
Xie Ning seemed about to speak, but Ling Shen’an said with a stern face from behind, “Young lady, what you’re doing isn’t right.”
“You’re right, it’s not.”
How could she be wearing a short skirt and kick someone?
And in front of Wanwan, no less.
Xie Ning’s smile faded slightly.
She turned to face Su Wan and used her pinky finger to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear.
She looked at the girl in front of her, hesitant, and said, “It’s getting dark. I’m here to take you home.”
Su Wan hesitated, looked up at her, with more confusion than any other emotion.
She moved her lips but didn’t say a word.
She lowered her head again, avoiding Xie Ning’s gaze, and walked over to Aunt Zhang to help her up.
Xie Ning secretly sighed.
She had mustered up all her courage just to find a chance to talk to Wanwan, and the first thing she said was ignored.
But that was to be expected.
Her Wanwan… was always so cold and distant.
In the future, she might be ignored and neglected again, but if she got discouraged after one or two rejections, wouldn’t her previous life have been lived in vain?
At least this proved the system was right.
Su Wan didn’t remember their past life, or she wouldn’t have reacted this way.
She might have been furious, slapped Xie Ning, or even hugged her, but she wouldn’t look at her with completely unfamiliar eyes, secretly sizing her up.
Xie Ning followed behind Su Wan, trying to start a conversation several times, but Su Wan seemed to be deliberately avoiding her.
She and Uncle Ling worked together to help Aunt Zhang get out.
Aunt Zhang was unharmed, but her top was dirty, her hair was a mess, and her face had a few scratches.
She wiped her face and cried out, “Oh my God, my face is ruined! Xie Ning, you ruined my face!”
Xie Ning took a closer look at her and noticed that her face indeed had scratches, all from the tree branches.
A little medicine would fix it in a few days.
Even if she had a tendency to scar, it wouldn’t leave a mark.
Saying her face was ruined was a complete exaggeration!
Aunt Zhang wailed, “Xie Ning, it was you who pushed me from behind, right? Why would you hurt me for no reason?”
“Because you deserved it. You hit Wanwan,” Xie Ning said with a sharp gaze.
She crossed her arms in front of her, calm and composed, and said every word clearly, “You are the Su family’s housekeeper. I saw you hit the Su family’s young lady with my own eyes. Don’t you deserve this?”
“You’re saying I hit her?” Aunt Zhang cried out, her voice full of disbelief.
“I hit her? Was that hitting her just now?”
She patted her own arm and yelled, “Like this? Is this what you call hitting someone? Miss Xie, you can’t just say things like that!”
“You didn’t just use that much force a moment ago,” Xie Ning said, narrowing her eyes.
“Whether it was hitting her or not, we can go and talk to your aunt and uncle. If they also think that I was wrong to push you, I’ll apologize to you.”
“Of course you were wrong,” Aunt Zhang said, irritated.
“How can you push someone? Liu Wan, you saw clearly how she pushed me, didn’t you?”
Xie Ning’s gaze on Su Wan was tender and warm, with a smile.
Su Wan shook her head and didn’t say anything.
“You clearly saw it!” Aunt Zhang was so angry that she raised her hand to hit her, but then a flash of light went off.
Xie Ning had taken out her phone and was taking a photo.
Aunt Zhang’s face changed completely.
She immediately put her hand down and sighed, “Miss Xie, you’re trying to ruin me!”
Xie Ning didn’t want to show her fangs in front of Su Wan.
She looked at Uncle Ling, and her voice was gentle.
“Uncle Ling, can you help me take this sister back and get her things? I have a few words I want to say to Aunt Zhang.”
Su Wan was a little distrustful of them, but she really wanted to go back.
She also didn’t want to get in their car, so walking back was the best option, since the community was just ahead.
She followed Uncle Ling into the community.
Xie Ning watched them walk away and then turned back to Aunt Zhang with a fake smile.
“Aunt Zhang, do you still want to go to your aunt and uncle and have me apologize to you?”
Aunt Zhang’s face turned pale.
She stammered, “I was in the wrong. I get emotional, but I didn’t actually hit her just now. You saw that.”
“I only took a picture of you raising your hand to hit her. Anyone who sees this photo won’t have a second thought.”
Sweat beaded on Aunt Zhang’s forehead.
She said, “I’ve worked so hard for the Su family for over a decade. I’m practically family. Liu Wan… she’s just a wild child…”
“Do you really think of yourself as part of the Su family?” Xie Ning laughed.
“You’re just their employee. Just a housekeeper. You wash clothes, mop floors, do the dishes, and clean the house. Anyone can do these things.”
“No,” Aunt Zhang said, her chest heaving with emotion.
“I’ve lived with them for over a decade. They won’t have an issue with me because of a picture you have. Xie Ning, listen to me. I won’t hold what happened today against you. You’re engaged to our young master, so you’ll be family soon. If we get along, it’ll be good for both of us.”
“Oh?”
“We all know you like our young master,” Aunt Zhang licked her lips.
“Xie Ning, Miss Xie, it’s better not to make a big deal out of nothing. You wouldn’t want to leave a bad impression on our young master, would you?”
That was a good line.
The old Xie Ning might have fallen for it, but now, Xie Ning no longer cared about Su Xingheng.
Her eyes darkened, and she slowly said, “I can’t do that.”
Aunt Zhang was a little desperate.
She didn’t want to turn this into a full-blown fight with Xie Ning.
She regretted pushing her earlier.
Now, she was trapped.
“Xie Ning, Miss Xie…” Aunt Zhang pleaded.
“There’s no need to take this to Madam. I’ll be more careful from now on…”
“Is it really just because you hit her?” Xie Ning was aggressive.
“You just work for the Su family. You’re just a housekeeper. You treat the Su family’s young lady like a maid, hitting and scolding her. With something like this, no one would keep you.”
“I also recorded what you said in the car. A housekeeper gossiping about the family’s private matters… Who would tolerate that?”
Aunt Zhang was terrified.
She bowed her head repeatedly and said, “I was wrong. I was very, very wrong…”
“You know you’re wrong now?” Xie Ning sneered.
“If the Su family fires you tomorrow, I can guarantee you won’t be able to find another employer.”
Aunt Zhang’s face completely lost all color.
She believed Xie Ning’s words implicitly.
After hearing that, she was about to kneel and kowtow to her.
“I beg you, Miss,” Aunt Zhang said in a low voice, sobbing.
“I don’t want to lose my job…”
Xie Ning looked at her.
Her clear, black eyes were like two bright lamps that could see straight into a person’s heart.
Aunt Zhang no longer dared to underestimate her.
She had truly misjudged her before, thinking she could treat her like a child and trick her.
But she was as sharp as a tack and had Aunt Zhang completely in her grasp.
“Actually, what happened today isn’t a big deal,” Xie Ning said with a fake smile.
“I’m not a busybody, but I just want to remind you that the Su family only has one true daughter. A fake can never become real, and you are truly, truly confused.”
Aunt Zhang froze.
Xie Ning came closer, pulled at her collar, and straightened it out.
She said with a meaningful tone, “I hope you don’t make the same mistake from now on. That fake is going to leave the Su family.”
