Xie Ning looked over through the car window, and her heartbeat suddenly sped up. Emotions twisted and turned endlessly in her eyes. Their gazes met, and she forgot what she wanted to say, what she should say.

Uncle Ling stopped the car and switched the high beams to low beams. The light shone on the girl, making her look so lonely and pitiful.

Su Wan had thought it was just an ordinary passing car and could not help glancing at it. Once the lights changed, she saw clearly the two people sitting inside the car. One of them was the Su family’s nanny, Nanny Zhang.

She stood up nervously and patted her hands. Powder flew into the air. She coughed, picked up the things she had bought, and looked cautiously at the people getting out of the car.

Nanny Zhang pushed open the car door, turned on her phone flashlight, and shone it at Su Wan. Su Wan’s face darkened. She stood straight, lowering her head while lifting her eyelids to look at Nanny Zhang without saying a single word.

She was not yet one meter sixty, and her frame was very thin. The pants looked loose and empty on her. Nanny Zhang walked over and slapped her a couple of times, and Su Wan swayed a little.

“Look at all this dust on you! This dust!” Nanny Zhang used great force. Every slap sent up a heavy cloud of powder as she said, “This dust is all flour, isn’t it? Isn’t it!
