The Cold Alpha's Black Lotus O Strategy Plan (GL) - Chapter 20
Jin Sique lowered her head.
This was already the third time she had taken out her phone and stared blankly at her WeChat conversation with Lü Zhongcai.
“Jin Sique, are you listening?”
The academic adviser stood at the front of the bus, holding a megaphone.
Jin Sique raised her head, locked her phone, and put it away.
“Sorry.”
Under a clear blue sky, a bus swayed along the road toward an orphanage. Standing at the front, the adviser used the megaphone to explain the precautions for that day’s charity performance.
“Everyone else is using their phones too. Why didn’t she criticize anyone else? Why did she single you out?” Zhu Wanqing complained.
Jin Sique smiled and pushed Zhu Wanqing’s head back toward her own seat.
The bus came to a stop.
Jin Sique’s phone vibrated again. Zhang Zui had sent her a message.
I’ve sent everything to you. It should take around a week for all the materials to be reviewed. You can look through this again.
Jin Sique replied with a brief Received, put away her phone, and got off the bus with Zhu Wanqing.
The students poured into the orphanage.
Jin Sique opened the attendance list and began confirming the members of each group. The entire class had been divided according to their dormitories, and each group would draw lots to determine its specific task.
“Chen Gang, Du Mingyu, Guo Sheng—why are there only three of you?”
Jin Sique looked at the Alphas standing in front of her.
Chen Gang spat to one side and said impatiently, “None of your business.”
Jin Sique smiled, made a mark on the attendance list, and began checking the next dormitory group.
“What’s the point of participating in an activity like this?” Guo Sheng complained from the side.
Chen Gang turned and gave Jin Sique an inexplicable glance.
“Hey, didn’t she say she was going to sue you?”
Du Mingyu nudged Chen Gang with his elbow.
“It’s already been several days since that late-night meeting. Why hasn’t anything happened?”
Chen Gang sneered.
“She’s just a whore. She got scared. Did she really think finding some cripple would let her do anything to me?”
“Xiaohe, you should draw the lot for us,” Jin Sique said with a smile as she closed the attendance list. “You’re lucky. Get us an easy job.”
Fang Xiaohe pressed her lips together and glanced at Jin Sique before joining the crowd waiting to draw lots.
On the other side, the academic adviser was speaking with the director of the orphanage.
The children were all attending classes, so the playground was quiet. Only a few volunteers were cleaning the grounds.
The orphanage program had been organized by the university. Every month, one class would be assigned to perform volunteer work there.
The person in charge was also selected by lot from the class.
Before they departed, Jin Sique’s student number had happened to be drawn from among more than twenty students. She did not want to cause any trouble. She only hoped the day would pass peacefully.
“I got it. We’re responsible for teaching the children a reproductive health class.”
Fang Xiaohe returned and handed the slip of paper to Jin Sique. Her hand rested against the back of her neck as she uncomfortably adjusted her scent-blocking patch.
Zhu Wanqing jumped up with a cheer.
She high-fived Xiaobai, then Jin Sique. After hesitating for several seconds, she raised her palm toward Fang Xiaohe.
Fang Xiaohe froze.
She instinctively lifted her hand and pressed it against Zhu Wanqing’s. Before she could lower it, another hand quickly tapped her palm.
A faint numbness spread across Fang Xiaohe’s hand.
She stared blankly as Jin Sique withdrew her hand, rolled the attendance list into a tube, and lightly tapped Xiaobai on the forehead with it.
The Omegas from Dormitory 603 approached after drawing their own lot, their faces filled with envy.
“Why are all of you so excited? What did you get?”
Zhu Wanqing laughed and waved the slip in front of them.
“We get to teach the children!”
“Damn! Our dormitory got manual labor. Forget this—I’m going to find an Alpha dormitory and trade with them.”
The Omegas hurried away to negotiate with the Alpha students in their class.
Jin Sique and the others exchanged glances.
They held their hands behind their backs and remained silent for several seconds before suddenly extending their right hands at the same time.
“Rock, paper, scissors!”
Jin Sique withdrew her hand.
“You flatter me.”
Xiaobai and Zhu Wanqing hugged each other, jumping up and down.
“Yes!”
Fang Xiaohe smiled shyly.
“Understood. I’ll give the main lecture. The rest of you will interact with the children, guide them, and handle the troublesome little brats.”
“No problem,” Jin Sique answered immediately.
Fang Xiaohe quickly glanced at Jin Sique. Her smile looked slightly unnatural.
—
During the break between classes, the children rushed out of their classrooms.
Jin Sique had barely turned around when a little girl threw herself at her.
“Sister Magpie! You’re here!”
Then came a second child, a third, a fourth…
“Hahahaha!” Zhu Wanqing laughed.
“Sique, be careful!” Xiaobai shouted.
Jin Sique hurriedly stood.
She casually picked up one of the children, tucked her under one arm, and began sprinting.
She ran onto the playground and collapsed onto the grass.
The children crowded toward her one after another.
Brilliant sunlight poured down. Jin Sique resembled a blade of grass bursting with life as she laughed loudly and reached out to tickle the children pouncing upon her.
“…”
Someone nudged Chen Gang with an elbow.
He returned to his senses.
“What?”
Guo Sheng laughed.
“Why are you staring at that whore?”
Chen Gang froze, then snorted coldly.
“I’m going to replace the bucket of water.”
—
Beside a billiards table, Lü Zhongcai held a cube of chalk in one hand and a cue in the other, rotating the cue rhythmically.
She stood beside the window, her gaze resting casually on the scene below.
“That’s an orphanage,” Chen Han said with a smile from slightly behind her. “Would President Lü like to visit?”
“No,” Lü Zhongcai replied.
Chen Han laughed and nodded.
Following Lü Zhongcai’s gaze, he looked downstairs. His expression suddenly stiffened.
Chen Gang carried a bucket of water into a secluded corner and hurled both the bucket and its contents against the wall.
The bucket clattered loudly, splashing dirty water everywhere.
Lü Zhongcai watched the scene coldly.
“Haha.”
Chen Han laughed awkwardly.
“Young people these days…”
Lü Zhongcai did not respond.
She turned and handed the cue to Lu Baimei, who was sitting nearby with one leg crossed over the other as she scrolled through her phone.
Lu Baimei accepted the cue, turned toward the table, and struck quickly.
The black ball dropped into the pocket.
Chen Han immediately applauded.
“I still can’t compare with President Lü,” Lu Baimei said with a smile. “What’s wrong? Not in the mood to play?”
052 said, “That’s Chen Gang. We met him a few days ago.”
“Excuse me for a moment,” Lü Zhongcai said to Lu Baimei and Chen Han.
Chen Han immediately nodded and opened the billiards room door for her.
After asking whether she needed help pushing the wheelchair, he was dismissed with a wave of Lü Zhongcai’s hand.
Lü Zhongcai propelled herself toward the restroom.
She looked around several times before finally choosing the children’s sink and turning on the faucet to wash her hands.
052 muttered, “Chen Han must be thinking, ‘What the hell? She came to play billiards in the middle of the afternoon?’”
“What else could you do? The president’s time is worth a fortune. This was the only opening in your schedule.”
Lü Zhongcai pulled out a paper towel and dried her hands.
“You knew Jin Sique would be here today?”
052 refused to answer.
Two hours earlier, because of several special meetings, the executive assistant had been unable to arrange a two-hour dinner engagement for Lü Zhongcai.
She had therefore suggested moving the meeting to lunchtime.
Once the time had been changed, the executive assistant proposed selecting a location that was relaxing but not excessively casual.
052 had then suggested billiards.
The assistant booked a private billiards club relatively close to Fengyue Tower. After contacting the venue, everything Lü Zhongcai was currently witnessing had followed.
052 finally said, “From birth until the age of five, the black lotus lived at Angel Orphanage. This is her other home.”
“How did I do, President Lü? Know yourself and know your enemy, and you’ll win every battle!”
“The black lotus’s unforgettable first love also came from here. It’s time to infiltrate enemy territory!”
Lü Zhongcai felt her temple tighten.
“Her unforgettable first love?”
“Yes. Her surname was… and her name was… was…”
052 faltered.
“I forgot.”
Lü Zhongcai: “…”
She tossed the paper towel into the nearby trash can.
That radiant face, as bright as the blazing sun, appeared in her mind.
It was the first time she had ever seen Jin Sique smile that way—relaxed, delighted, without the slightest trace of vigilance or restraint, like an ordinary child.
The Jin Sique she had seen over the past three years had always stood before her with her hands folded together, tilting her head slightly and offering her an obedient smile.
