The Cold Alpha's Black Lotus O Strategy Plan (GL) - Chapter 22
“You bastard!”
Chen Han strode over and angrily kicked the back of Chen Gang’s knee.
“Apologize at once!”
“What are you doing here? Fuck! Have you lost your mind?”
Chen Gang sprang away after being kicked, but Chen Han chased after him and landed several more blows.
Chen Gang finally exploded and roared back at him.
“What the hell is wrong with you?”
“You useless piece of trash!” Chen Han shouted.
Chen Gang’s eyes nearly split with rage.
Lü Zhongcai and Jin Sique watched the father and son struggle as though enjoying a show. Not far away, Lu Baimei gave them a thumbs-up.
Chen Han laughed awkwardly twice, pressed down on the back of Chen Gang’s neck, and tried to force him to lower his head and apologize to Lü Zhongcai.
Chen Gang violently broke free.
Burning with anger, he vented his fury on the bucket of dirty water beside him. After kicking it over, he cursed loudly.
“Do you even know what they did? And you still want me to apologize? You senile old bastard, helping outsiders against your own family—”
A crisp slap rang out.
Chen Gang abruptly fell silent.
With the right side of his face bright red, he glared at Chen Han in extreme fury.
“Oh!”
052 cheered inside Lü Zhongcai’s mind.
“That wasn’t satisfying enough. Hit him again!”
The argument attracted several people’s attention.
Jin Sique pulled the wheelchair backward, taking Lü Zhongcai two meters away. She then bent down and asked, “Zhongcai, are you all right?”
Lü Zhongcai’s gaze once again swept over the glaring stain on her trouser leg.
She pressed her lips together and said nothing, clearly nearing the limit of her anger.
Jin Sique took out a wet wipe and bent down to clean Lü Zhongcai’s trouser cuff.
“There’s no need,” Lü Zhongcai said quietly.
Jin Sique froze, then put the wet wipe away.
Two meters from them, Chen Han had already dragged Chen Gang over by force and was demanding that he apologize to Lü Zhongcai on the spot.
Lu Baimei pointed at Chen Gang and deliberately asked Chen Han with a teasing expression, despite clearly knowing the answer.
“And this is…?”
Chen Han smiled awkwardly.
“My disappointing son, President Lü, President Lu…”
“The children are in class right now, so Director Mom’s office should be empty,” Jin Sique said with a smile. “Why don’t we go there and sit down while we talk?”
Chen Han wiped away his sweat and nodded repeatedly.
More and more people were gathering around them, and he did not want to embarrass himself further.
—
At the office, Jin Sique opened the door.
The corridor outside was empty, but several students and caregivers could be seen watching from a short distance away.
A middle-aged woman called to them from afar, apparently warning them not to enter the director’s office without permission.
Jin Sique stood in the doorway and waved to her.
The woman clearly froze when she recognized Jin Sique. She said nothing more and turned back to her work.
“President Lü, President Lu.”
Chen Han found disposable cups beside the water dispenser, filled two with water, and handed them to Lu Baimei and Lü Zhongcai.
“Please, sit down.”
Then he looked toward Jin Sique.
“You… You’re a caregiver from the hospital, aren’t you? Come and help me move a chair.”
Jin Sique smiled gently.
“All right.”
“Oh!”
Lu Baimei hurriedly stopped her.
“I’ll do it. I’ll do it. It’s fine—I can stand.”
“Ah… I wasn’t indirectly mocking you, President.”
“Don’t call me President,” Lü Zhongcai said with a frown.
Jin Sique smilingly joined in.
“All right, President Lü.”
Lü Zhongcai: “…”
“Why not?” 052 said. “I love the title ‘President.’ It would be even more appropriate with the word ‘domineering’ before it. Call her that as much as you like!”
“As for the black lotus, forget it,” 052 scoffed. “She clearly has ulterior motives.”
“You don’t need to call me President Lü,” Lü Zhongcai told Jin Sique with a serious expression.
Jin Sique burst into laughter beside her.
Chen Han was so embarrassed that he could only laugh dryly along with them.
They chatted briefly, seemingly sharing an unspoken agreement to ignore Chen Gang.
All his anger struck nothing but cotton, leaving him frustrated and powerless.
“Yes… I’ve heard about this orphanage for many years,” Chen Han said stiffly.
Finally finding an opportunity to bring the conversation back to Chen Gang, he continued, “Our Xiao Gang often comes here to volunteer too. Hahaha. He only has a stubborn temper, but he’s a good child…”
“President Lü…”
“Chen Gang, apologize!”
Chen Gang also began to realize that something was wrong.
His father’s submissive attitude and Lü Zhongcai’s imposing presence caused some of the reason that had fled in his anger to return.
“Apologize!” Chen Han shouted furiously.
Chen Gang clenched his teeth.
“We’ve already met,” Lü Zhongcai said.
She forced out a smile and handed her cup to Jin Sique.
“At Sique’s university.”
“Sique?”
Chen Han observed the interaction between them.
Jin Sique had been making tea nearby. She came over and replaced the plain water in Lü Zhongcai’s hand with a cup of tea.
Smiling casually, she said, “Uncle Chen, I’m Chen Gang’s classmate. My surname is Jin.”
Chen Han abruptly realized something.
He stood and looked toward Chen Gang, then glanced between Lü Zhongcai and Jin Sique.
Jin Sique’s phone vibrated.
“It’s Lawyer Zhang,” she said.
Chen Gang fell silent.
The moment Jin Sique answered, Zhang Zui’s loud voice came directly through the phone.
“Miss Jin, the review has been approved. Now we’re only waiting for the court date to be scheduled…”
“I can’t hear clearly,” Lü Zhongcai said.
Jin Sique glanced at her and switched on the speaker.
“Miss Jin, have you discussed this with your classmate yet?” Zhang Zui continued. “Are we meeting in court, or are you settling it privately?”
“That Chen fellow—if he’s willing to come and humbly apologize, we could reluctantly withdraw the case.”
“Ask him what he wants to do. Either way is fine. The main thing is what you want.”
Chen Han still seemed detached from the entire situation.
He stared at the phone in Jin Sique’s hand in disbelief.
052 shouted, “Enjoy being sued, you little bastard!”
“Go to court,” Lü Zhongcai said calmly.
When Zhang Zui heard her voice, he paused for several seconds before replying cheerfully.
“All right! President Lü has spoken. Court it is.”
Jin Sique thanked Zhang Zui.
After ending the call, she looked toward Lü Zhongcai.
Lu Baimei raised an eyebrow and rested one elbow on top of the water dispenser, leisurely watching the human comedy unfold before her.
Chen Gang’s face looked terrible, tinged with humiliation and rage.
Rust-scented pheromones poured from his body as he gritted his teeth and glared away.
Chen Han, meanwhile, appeared to have been struck by lightning.
He had met Lü Zhongcai that day intending to discuss a project.
Lü Zhongcai held absolute authority over LE Capital’s China branch.
Any investment—especially venture capital involving emerging technology—could hardly avoid LE Capital’s inspection and approval.
Even if a company did not seek LE Capital’s participation during its first or second financing rounds, when it eventually prepared to go public, other potential investors would still ask LE Capital to evaluate it.
Everyone in the country knew that Lü Zhongcai of Fengyue Tower was a capitalist whom no one could afford to provoke.
She controlled one-tenth of the liquid funds held by the Wall Street headquarters.
If she wished, a single movement of her finger could secure an entire project’s Series A, B, and C financing.
Likewise, if she was unwilling, she only needed to swipe the project proposal from her inbox into the trash.
That project could then forget about ever earning LE Capital’s favor.
It would mean that the Chen family would lose the trust of at least eighty to ninety percent of its investors.
“Are you insane?”
Chen Han roared at Chen Gang.
“Do you have any idea how difficult it is to meet her even once?”
“It was bad enough that you offended someone connected to her, but now you’re going to court against Lü Zhongcai!”
“Do you realize our entire family will be left with nothing to eat because of you?”
“I-I didn’t know…”
Chen Gang’s face flushed scarlet, and his voice became unstable.
“You knew! If you knew, why didn’t you tell me sooner?”
Chen Han was beside himself with rage.
He abandoned Chen Gang and hurried outside after the others.
—
Lü Zhongcai tapped one index finger against the wheelchair’s armrest.
“That Chen…”
“Chen Gang,” Jin Sique supplied.
“Has he caused you any trouble?” Lü Zhongcai asked.
Jin Sique smiled.
“No.”
Lu Baimei quickly walked ahead and opened the car door for Lü Zhongcai.
“President Lü—”
“Sique—”
Two voices came from behind them simultaneously.
Lü Zhongcai and Jin Sique turned around together and saw Chen Han and Director Lu running after them.
“Director Mom?” Jin Sique said.
Director Lu was out of breath.
She held Jin Sique’s arm.
“You… You’re leaving? I still haven’t asked you…”
“President Lü, the child is ignorant. Please be merciful!”
Chen Han bent halfway over as he stood on the downward slope beside the road. By lowering his head, he was almost level with Lü Zhongcai in her wheelchair.
“I’ll make him come and apologize properly. He will definitely apologize to Miss Jin…”
“And the PD project…”
Lü Zhongcai waved a hand.
Her gaze settled on Jin Sique as she replied casually, “Perhaps there will be another opportunity to cooperate with President Chen in the future.”
Chen Han froze in place, his face as pale as paper.
He understood that the project no longer had any chance.
“Have you heard anything from Mengzhen?” Director Lu asked worriedly as she held Jin Sique’s hand.
Jin Sique shook her head.
“Director Mom, I…”
“Mengzhen?”
Jin Sique turned around.
Only then did she realize that Lü Zhongcai had already come up behind her.
“Someone you know?” Lü Zhongcai asked.
052 roared inside her mind.
“Du Mengzhen! That’s the unforgettable first love’s name! The black lotus’s lover!”
At that moment, Jin Sique felt her heart miss a beat.
The connection between Alpha and Omega allowed her to sense it clearly.
Lü Zhongcai was angry.
