The Disabled Villain Omega Uses Her Riches to Get Close to People (GL) - Chapter 25.1
Back at the dorm, Jing Chaocao pushed the door open to find herself receiving rare attention from all three of her roommates at once.
“…”
She asked hesitantly, “Is this a welcoming committee?”
The array was quite significant, making her feel quite flattered.
At her words, Zhao Xiyin was the first to turn her head away, no longer looking at her. But the curiosity in the eyes of the other two was almost overflowing.
Song Li immediately pulled her chair over to Jing Chaocao’s desk. “Did you see the post on the school forum?”
Lu Nan also put down her book, her gaze fixed on Jing Chaocao, waiting for an answer.
Jing Chaocao realized she knew why they were acting this way. “You mean that ‘luxury car’ post?”
Because of the hundreds of comments uniformly “manifesting a rich lady,” it had instantly become the number one trending post on the forum. It was pinned at the top of the homepage; anyone who clicked in would see it. Those familiar with her could guess it was her just by looking at the blurry silhouette.
Lu Nan chimed in, “So you’ve seen it?”
Jing Chaocao nodded. “Just now.”
She didn’t usually browse the campus forum. If Xu Zhihuai hadn’t shown it to her, she really might not have known about it.
Song Li pulled her chair closer and asked curiously, “So what’s the deal? Did you win the lottery, or did you really meet a rich sugar mommy?”
She had intended it as a joke, but to her surprise, Jing Chaocao didn’t immediately deny it.
“???”
Song Li and Lu Nan exchanged a look, then turned their burning gazes back to Jing Chaocao. Could they really be about to get some firsthand “tea”?
Zhao Xiyin, sitting with her back to them, couldn’t help but prick up her ears.
Song Li glanced sideways and added, “If it’s inconvenient to talk here, we can go to the balcony.”
As long as the door was shut tight, not a sound would leak out. As for who it was “inconvenient” for, it was obviously Zhao Xiyin. Her voice was just loud enough for the other girl to hear clearly.
Even from her back, it was obvious Zhao Xiyin was fuming.
Jing Chaocao couldn’t help but smile; Song Li never missed an opportunity to annoy Zhao Xiyin.
“No, I just hitched a ride. It happened to be a luxury car; I didn’t know it was that expensive.”
She didn’t plan on revealing the truth about her and Chi Wanzhu yet. While the first part was a fabrication, Jing Chaocao wasn’t lying about the last part. If she had known the car was that expensive beforehand, she would have sat with barely any weight on the seat, terrified of breaking something.
Song Li was surprised. “Do luxury cars take ride-share orders now?”
Lu Nan nodded beside her. “I actually caught a ride in a luxury car once, though it wasn’t as expensive as yours. Right before I got out, I was frantically searching how to open the door.”
Who would have thought luxury cars had such different structures? For someone who had never been in one, the knowledge pool was pitifully shallow.
Song Li burst out laughing. “Then do I need to start studying up in advance? Just in case I run into one one day!”
After the explanation, she gave Jing Chaocao a reassuring pat on the shoulder. “Don’t worry, even if you really do win the lottery or meet a rich sugar mommy in the future, I’ll still be happy for you!”
Jing Chaocao narrowed her eyes, suspicious of her words. “Why do I feel like that’s not what you’re really thinking?”
Song Li blinked. “Really? You must be mistaken!”
She would never admit that her heart had been in her throat during Jing Chaocao’s second of hesitation. Only after the explanation did she secretly heave a sigh of relief.
Afraid the bestie will live in pain, but even more afraid she’ll drive a Range Rover.
With that topic over, Jing Chaocao placed her books and other items on the desk and told them, “I might move out to live this week.”
She could hide the thing with Chi Wanzhu, but moving out was impossible to keep secret.
Song Li was shocked first. “Ah, why?”
Even Zhao Xiyin’s chair moved, scraping against the floor. Lu Nan also looked toward her.
But before Jing Chaocao could answer, Song Li beat her to it. “I know!”
“Let’s hear it?” Jing Chaocao thought her own excuse was mediocre; she wanted to see if Song Li could come up with a better one.
Song Li said with certainty, “You’re moving out to live with your girlfriend, right?”
Young couples in new relationships inevitably want to kiss and hug. Alphas and Omegas are also influenced by pheromones; moving out would definitely be more convenient than staying at school.
Jing Chaocao: “…”
Her original excuse was that living outside was more convenient for her part-time job. But the one Song Li suggested seemed… slightly more plausible. So, she nodded and didn’t deny it.
Lu Nan was taken aback. “You’re in a relationship?”
Song Li pointed at Jing Chaocao’s clothes and said to Lu Nan, “Chaocao wasn’t wearing this outfit when she left this morning, was she?”
Lu Nan tried to remember. “I don’t think so.”
“See?” Song Li said earnestly. “Don’t just bury your head in books; remember to observe the people around you more.”
To her own surprise, she was actually the most observant person in this dorm. As for Zhao Xiyin, she wasn’t even in consideration.
Lu Nan uttered an “oh.” “Then I’ll try to read less.”
Jing Chaocao looked at her curiously. Unlike them, Lu Nan truly loved learning from the bottom of her heart. Could she really be swayed so easily?
Song Li smiled. “That’s the spirit!” She was about to tell Lu Nan to learn more from her.
But before she could finish, Lu Nan spoke again. “But if I read less, I don’t know if I’ll be able to produce the key study points during finals week.”
Every finals week, Song Li relied on Lu Nan’s notes. “…” The smile instantly vanished from her face.
She rushed over to Lu Nan and began massaging her shoulders. “What are you saying? Great Deity Lu, you should study and read as much as you want! No one is allowed to disturb you!”
The smile didn’t disappear; it just transferred to Jing Chaocao’s face.
On the other side, Zhao Xiyin found herself thinking again of that student girl Zhao Xihuai had mentioned. When she met Chi Wanzhu at the banquet, she thought she smelled an Alpha’s scent that felt somewhat familiar. But the scent was too faint, more like a trick of the imagination. After the banquet, she asked Zhao Xihuai, but her sister hadn’t sensed anything.
She forwarded the photo from the forum to Zhao Xihuai.
Zhao Xiyin: Sister, do you recognize this car?
Zhao Xihuai: Don’t we have one at home too? Why are you asking?
Zhao Xiyin: I saw it at our school gate. I don’t know whose it is.
Zhao Xihuai: Is there a license plate number? I might recognize it then.
There were quite a few people with this kind of car. It was hard to tell from a single photo. If the price had another zero at the end, she might have guessed. But with a license plate, if they were in their circle, she would naturally know.
The information on the forum was limited.
Zhao Xiyin: No. I was wondering if it was President Chi’s car. Didn’t you say the Alpha she found was from our school?
Zhao Xihuai: What are the odds? Maybe that Alpha just bought the backpack from somewhere else.
Z University was a prestigious school, after all. Many people liked to buy its merchandise; the backpack was a common item. Zhao Xiyin thought that made sense. What were the chances that Jing Chaocao was actually that Alpha?
For the next few days, Jing Chaocao attended classes as usual. In her spare time, she made a rare appearance in the school library, bringing along middle and high school biology textbooks. She sat up straight, pen in hand, and flipped to the first page.
A few minutes later, Jing Chaocao picked up her phone.
Learning without thinking leads to confusion; not learning and not thinking leads to bliss.
It definitely wasn’t because the knowledge was too hard. She had just thought of Chi Wanzhu; since she was on a business trip, she should show some concern.
She opened the contact information. The name she had saved was: [Kind, Generous, Beautiful CEO Chi]. She had set that name back when she thought they were about to part ways.
Thinking of this, Jing Chaocao deleted those words. She changed it back to the first one she had thought of: [Kind, Generous, Beautiful Sugar Mommy Chi].
After changing it, she sent a message.
Jing Chaocao: Is President Chi already on the business trip?
The moment she sent it, a new message popped up in the chat.
Chi Wanzhu: In Country K. Is something the matter?
