The Mad Beauty Professor Forced Me to Mark Her - Chapter 5
A medical student’s classes were packed almost the entire day, and by the time Qi Si rushed to the bar at night, it was always the busiest hour. On weekends, they often would not close until two or three in the morning. Qi Si did not have the nerve to knock on the dorm supervisor’s door in the middle of the night, so she simply waited until closing, left herself a light on at the bar, and studied there until dawn before riding a shared bicycle back to the dorm to catch up on sleep.
After keeping this up for a while, Qi Si’s energy was completely drained. Her biological clock was a mess, and during daytime classes, she could no longer control herself from dozing off. Unfortunately, medical theory classes were dry and dull, and the teachers all read straight from the textbook. The classroom atmosphere was terrible. Large groups either played on their phones or slept. The only part that could stir any interest among the students was roll call, and the name “Qi Si” contained uncommon characters, so it was usually deliberately skipped.
After a few rounds of this, Qi Si learned how to skip class. The first class she skipped was the one Su Moxiao substituted for on Wednesday afternoon.
Shen Yixuan was quite indignant about this. Several times in a row, she sent messages asking Qi Si the reason and even came to the dorm to knock on her door, but Qi Si was nowhere to be seen from morning to night. Her roommates also knew nothing when asked.
School had only been in session for half a month. The freshmen were still in their exploration period, all busy joining various clubs and making friends. Everyone kept a close eye on the group messages on their phones, and any piece of gossip spread through the groups at lightning speed.
That day, while Qi Si was working at the bar, she received several messages on her phone from high school classmates she had not contacted in over a year.
Lai Gaoyuan: Link from the University A forum. Title: [A few distinctions between Goddess Moxiao’s natural scent and pheromones. As her ex, I have more right to speak on this.]
Lai Gaoyuan: Is this person you? How can you be so low?
Lai Gaoyuan: Let Moxiao go, and let yourself go too. Why do you keep clinging to her?
Lai Gaoyuan: Delete the post and apologize immediately!!! Otherwise you’re dead!!!
Zhou Weihang: You’re fucking disgusting. Is your whole family dead, so no one’s around to discipline you? Doing something this immoral—if I’d known, I would’ve brought a knife that day and stabbed you to death, you disgusting thing!
…
Qi Si frowned and opened the forum. After roughly skimming the post, her brows furrowed tighter and tighter.
The poster claimed to be Su Moxiao’s ex. At first, they used a misleading title to talk about unrelated things. After the post gained attention and people began questioning it, the original poster finally revealed so-called “relevant evidence”: Su Moxiao’s high school, her class, and even a photo of Su Moxiao in the classroom.
The post grew hotter and hotter. The original poster kept deliberately whetting the curiosity of these busybodies, and so the thread turned into a venting post. People made dirty jokes and mocked the goddess. One moment, someone claimed they had seen her in heat; the next, someone claimed they knew her measurements. The scale became more and more outrageous, while the original poster vanished, watching the fire they had lit burn brighter and brighter.
Qi Si was dragged into trouble for no reason. She blocked those high school classmates. Then her phone began receiving countless anonymous insults, vibrating endlessly.
Zhou Danqing came to the liquor cabinet to get wine. Hearing the sound, she could not help laughing. “Xiao Qi, busier than me?”
Qi Si turned on airplane mode and put away her phone. “Sorry.”
“I was joking.” Zhou Danqing took a bottle of the most expensive Armand de Brignac Ace of Spades, picked out a polished crystal-clear stemmed glass, and pressed her red lips to the rim before placing it in front of Qi Si. “Private Room 101. Tell them it’s on me.”
The red lipstick mark on the glass was faintly visible. More eye-catching than the lip mark, however, was the boss’s sexy outfit.
Someone who could make her rich and beautiful boss willingly lower herself to please them… Qi Si could not help feeling curious.
Was it that Omega older sister from last time? She had not seen her in quite a while.
When Qi Si pushed open the door to Private Room 101, inside was a man around thirty years old, his body faintly giving off the distinct aura of an Alpha.
Qi Si bent down to pour the wine. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the man staring at the lipstick mark on the glass, his brows slightly furrowing.
The scent of a male Alpha made her instinctively repulsed. Qi Si did her part and showed none of the curiosity she should not have. She closed the door and left.
So the boss liked this type? But he did not look very easy to get along with.
Sure enough, when the man left the private room, the wine in his glass had not been touched at all. Zhou Danqing smoked at the entrance for a long while, then announced before eleven that they were closing.
Qi Si returned to the dorm and washed the smell of alcohol off herself. She had even brought fried chicken she bought on the way back for her two roommates.
Both roommates liked junk food. They waited for Qi Si to come out of the bathroom, then eagerly told her the gossip. “Do you know? The school forum exploded tonight.”
Qi Si borrowed her roommate’s hair dryer. The other girl generously pointed to where it was and said while gnawing on fried chicken, “It was hilarious. I bet lots of people were so angry tonight they couldn’t sleep!”
Qi Si asked, “What happened?”
“Someone on the forum made a post to start a fight. It had to do with one of the campus beauties from the medical school. The argument got so intense that a bunch of people reported and complained about it. But who knows what the admin was doing? The post stayed up for three hours. In the end, the people who reported it couldn’t take it anymore. Apparently, they hacked the forum website. The site still can’t be opened even now!”
Qi Si checked, and sure enough, the previous post had been 404’d.
…As expected, people who studied computer science were amazing. They could even hack the famous University A forum.
Her two roommates talked about the matter foolishly. One of them was from the School of Physical Education and had just started dating someone. The other was a gaming shut-in from the School of Science, and they had only ended up in the same dorm because of major transfers. They were usually detached from the group and treated the school’s gossip purely as entertainment.
Qi Si, who was at the center of public opinion, did not care much either. After drying her hair, she picked up the computer science textbook and began studying.
After finishing the theoretical section, Qi Si encountered a problem she currently had no way to solve.
She lacked the tool needed for practice: a computer.
How the hell was she supposed to study computer science without a computer? Program inside her brain?
But with her current debt situation, her salary had to go straight toward repayments. How could she possibly afford a computer?
To make matters worse, Shen Yixuan came to find her the next day and asked her to join the class group discussion to talk about the autumn outing. Clearly, this would be another expense.
Qi Si said, “I have to work this weekend, so I won’t join the autumn outing.”
“No way. You’ve been skipping class these past few days, and you’re not participating in class activities or club activities either. How can this go on? Don’t keep thinking about work, work, work. A student’s main duty should be studying. If you neglect what matters and waste your youth chasing the wrong thing, in the end, even graduating will become a problem!”
Qi Si felt as though an arrow had struck her knee. Over the past two years, her academic life had been a complete mess. Sometimes, she even dreamed of her old classmates rising to success and glory while she wiped bar counters in a dim bar, bowing and scraping as she served others.
“…What can I do?” Qi Si asked quietly.
Shen Yixuan said, “Your suggestion for the Teacher’s Day gift last time was very good. I heard Senior Moxiao was very happy after receiving it and placed the flower arrangement in the laboratory. This time, there’s a vote in the group for the autumn outing proposal. You haven’t voted yet, right? We’re still short a few key votes. Take a look and see where you want to go, then cast your vote. If you’re short on money, I can lend it to you first.”
Qi Si opened the group chat she had muted. It was now 23:50, yet the group messages were still refreshing in real time. The excited university students were arguing fiercely over the autumn outing destination.
Zhao Tao: Universal Studios! Universal Studios! Everyone vote Universal Studios!
Zhao Tao: My aunt is a shareholder at Universal Studios. She can get everyone channel tickets. Express passes with no lines are only 888. We’ll definitely have fun!
Li Qun: We’re already tired of Universal Studios. Look at the newly opened Yaoxue Ski Resort next door. All the equipment is brand new! [Image] [Image]
Zhang Lingchun: Hahaha, what if we want to go to all of them? Can we have another autumn outing next month and take turns?
Li Qun: I agree. [Heart] [Heart]
Qi Si: “…”
Most students who could get into University A came from fairly good families. Qi Si also often saw students carrying luxury bags and wearing designer shoes on the road. These rich kids acted flamboyantly in daily life and formed their own cliques. For example, these few rich kids who had turned the class group into a stage for a minority were showing off wealth with every word and action. The ski resort they recommended had recently become very popular online. Going through all the activities there would start at two thousand yuan, which was not something ordinary university students could afford at all.
Although they canvassed for votes everywhere, the final voting result did not go the way they wanted. Many silent lurkers still cast their votes for the inexpensive activity of “mountain climbing.”
Current data:
Universal Studios: 23 votes
Yaoxue Ski Resort: 19 votes
Mountain climbing: 23 votes
Zhao Tao: @All Has the vote count finished? Who still hasn’t voted?
Shen Yixuan typed a reply: Wait a moment. There’s still one key vote.
The group messages paused for a while. Soon, a voting notification appeared on the blank panel: Qi Si has completed the vote.
The silent party won. Qi Si had chosen mountain climbing. The rich kids were furious and complained a few times, but they soon quieted down and handed the main stage of the class group chat over.
Shen Yixuan: [Thumbs up] [Thumbs up] A very key vote.
Ouyang Xia: Yes, saved half a month of living expenses in anger. Thank you, @Qi Si.
At the same time, in an anonymous group with over a thousand members, a screenshot of “Qi Si’s” profile picture and name was sent out. The user ID Juyuan asked: “Who is this? The name looks familiar.”
Anonymous netizens quickly replied:
A: Her? I know her.
B: That person’s ex. Haven’t seen her in a long time. Wait, wasn’t yesterday’s post made by her?
A: A complete idiot. She’s the reason the forum still can’t be logged into. What happened to her?
C: Who? What are you all talking about?
D: Ex-jiejie? Is that her?
A: I’m dying laughing at the nickname Ex-jiejie.
E: Holy crap, the goddess’s ex? The original poster who blew up the forum yesterday?
F: Which dorm is she in? I want to go beat her up and avenge Senior Moxiao!
C: Has this person been dug up yet? Any fellow students from No. 1 High who can explain?
B: She was in the class next door in high school. I don’t know the details. I only heard she applied to our school after the college entrance exam. Maybe she still wants to keep pestering that person.
E: So disgusting. Senior Moxiao is so pitiful. How did she meet such a trash ex?
G: Love turned into hatred after failing to get what she wanted. God, I’m so worried about Senior.
…
Overnight, the news that Qi Si was Su Moxiao’s ex exploded through the grade group.
Qi Si’s high school, Jinghai No. 1 High, was a renowned key high school. More than two-thirds of the students in a single class could get into top-ten universities. Although University A’s medical school was hard to get into, the cutoffs for other majors were lower, and with the geographical advantage, it was easy to run into alumni from No. 1 High at University A. Digging up Qi Si was practically effortless.
Shen Yixuan was still chatting with the physical education student in Dorm 602 when she was suddenly urgently summoned back by the pink-haired girl. After the dorm door was closed, the pink-haired girl warned her seriously, “You absolutely cannot have anything to do with Yuan Lü from now on!”
Shen Yixuan: “Huh?”
The pink-haired girl pulled up the grade group messages for her to see. “She’s scum. She’s already famous. Look, even her high school photos have been dug up.”
Shen Yixuan zoomed in and looked. “…She was already this handsome in high school.”
“Dorm leader! This is a major incident!”
“It is pretty serious. And combined with how she’s been skipping class lately, this person has a big problem.”
“Yes. It’s best not to get involved with her. You’ve been walking too close to her lately. The impact is terrible. It’ll drag down the reputation of us female Alphas.”
“You shouldn’t have discussed the autumn outing with her!” The pink-haired girl was the most emotional. “You can know someone’s face but not their heart. No wonder Senior Moxiao’s attitude was so strange that day in class. It was because of her! Be more careful, will you? You try to befriend just anyone. She’s scum. She even made a post insulting Senior Moxiao!”
Shen Yixuan said, “…But she really did give a good suggestion. The gift thing…”
The pink-haired girl said, “The gift thing was strange too! I thought it was weird back then. How did she know what kind of flowers Senior liked? So this was why! Pah!”
Shen Yixuan hesitated, her lips trembling. She flipped through the chat records for a long time, her expression growing uglier and uglier. In the end, she gritted her teeth, turned around, and pushed the door open.
“Hey, what are you going to… do…” Before the pink-haired girl finished the last word, she heard Shen Yixuan knocking hard on Dorm 602’s door.
“What the hell! Dorm leader is too reckless…” The pink-haired girl stomped her feet in anger. “Why is she still going to find her?!”
Ji Min said, “Shh—”
The doors of both dorms were wide open, and the conversation was perfectly clear.
The girls of Dorm 601 leaned against the doorframe and heard their dorm leader questioning, “Did you make a post on the forum yesterday?”
Qi Si said, “No.”
Shen Yixuan gave a “heh.” She sounded angry, but not because she suspected Qi Si of lying. “Someone impersonated you and posted on the forum. Did you know?”
Qi Si said, “I knew.”
Shen Yixuan said, “You knew and you’re still doing nothing?! Hurry up and prove yourself!”
Qi Si’s answer was subtle, almost like a laugh, but her tone was not frivolous. She said, “It’s difficult to prove something I didn’t do. You can prove something exists, but you can’t prove it doesn’t. Self-proving is itself a trap.”
Not long after, the University A forum recovered. The official admin responded to that hot post, dug up the poster’s IP, and stated that the poster was a senior architecture student who could not find a job and had nothing to do with the No. 1 High ex rumored online.
Even so, the malice toward Qi Si circulating online did not stop. When Qi Si went out, even her roommate from the School of Physical Education said, “Wear a mask, in case you run into some idiot targeting you.”
On Thursday night of the third week of school, Qi Si practiced programming in the library’s electronic reading room.
She had a rare two-day break and did not need to work at the bar, so she seized every second to make up her assignments and study. Only when the library closed did she pack up her USB drive and leave.
The elevator area was packed. As an Alpha, Qi Si consciously chose to take the stairs.
Behind her, someone followed closely. The sound of “tap, tap” echoed through the dim stairwell. Their steps were fast, but they kept strangely pausing in the middle, with no intention of passing Qi Si, as if they were following her.
The thought surfaced. Qi Si stopped halfway down a flight of stairs, took out her phone, turned on the flashlight, and used the light to look at the person behind her.
A nimble fat guy quickly descended the stairs. When he met Qi Si’s gaze, he did not pause. Instead, he sped up and rammed into her hard.
The first thing that hit her was a strong sour stench. It was the smell of a fat person who sweated often in the summer. When he crashed over, Qi Si realized that the T-shirt he wore was wet and greasy. It was like being hit in the face with a handful of shit. In her panic to dodge, she stumbled and fell down several steps, while her phone flew straight out.
Thud. Thud. Thud.
The phone flew out through the railing. The gaps between the sounds of it hitting the ground grew longer and longer. The old phone that had accompanied Qi Si through three years of high school and one year of university finally died at that moment.
Qi Si had no mind to pick it up. She stood up in a sorry state and asked the fat guy, “You did that on purpose?”
“How could that be? Of course I was careless.” The fat guy smiled viciously. “Even if I did deliberately bump into you, did I break the law?”
Qi Si looked at the surveillance camera in the stairwell.
The fat guy said, “So what if the camera caught it? Are you missing an arm or a leg? You dropped the phone yourself, idiot!”
Qi Si asked, “Why?”
“Why? Ask yourself. You did all those immoral things and still want to act pitiful? I’m warning you. You’d better leave the medical school as soon as possible and never appear in front of Su Moxiao again in this lifetime. Better yet, hide as far away as a cockroach. Wear a mask when you go out too. Don’t let people recognize you. Otherwise, these four years of university will be hell for you. Today was just a little warning. Next time, you might not be so lucky!”
Qi Si said nothing. She watched as the fat guy passed by her smugly, the stench unbearable. Then, all of a sudden, Qi Si kicked the back of his knee hard.
The fat guy rolled down thirteen steps and fell until his face was unrecognizable.
