The Unhinged O Has Designs On Me - Chapter 3
If the situation had not been wrong, Yue Xing would one hundred percent have pinned Shen Jingmian down and beaten her viciously.
Who liked kneeling? As if she had no bones.
The sharp warning alarm was still blaring nonstop, making Yue Xing’s ears ache and her heart irritable. Shen Jingmian was still staring at her and refusing to let her go, as if she absolutely had to answer.
“This really isn’t the time for jokes.”
Yue Xing squeezed out a smile through gritted teeth, her vigilance not diminishing in the slightest.
The smoke spread very quickly. At this moment, half the interior of the starship had already been obscured by the haze, and the star pirates were hidden within it.
Yue Xing had never fought star pirates before, but from Shen You’s tense reaction earlier, she could tell they were formidable. Yet Shen Jingmian still had the leisure to mock her.
As if one remark was not enough, Shen Jingmian even added, “I don’t joke with people.”
Yue Xing: “……”
So what Shen Jingmian meant was that she thought Yue Xing liked kneeling, and even liked kneeling in front of her, right?
Yue Xing did not want to respond to that. She only devoted herself entirely to staying alert for the star pirates who might rush out at any moment, concentrating fully.
Like she had lost her mind, Shen Jingmian insisted on continuing to chat with her at a time like this.
“If you don’t like kneeling, then are you trying to beg me to protect you?”
The smoke was about to drift over. Yue Xing had already prepared to dodge. When she looked up, she saw Shen Jingmian glancing down at her, her words full of arrogance.
Yet her expression was calm and indifferent, and paired with her unfathomable strength, those words somehow seemed only natural.
Yue Xing did not know why Shen Jingmian was speaking to her like this at such a moment. Was it pity from a senior, or was it Shen Jingmian’s own nasty nature? Either way, the answer had nothing to do with her.
Yue Xing did not want to keep talking to Shen Jingmian, so she casually blocked her words.
“I don’t like begging people.”
That was half true and half false. But even knowing that Shen Jingmian was someone who would kill her, Yue Xing had never once thought of begging her to spare her.
Leaving the choice in someone else’s hands was the stupidest decision.
Shen Jingmian swept her a glance and said nothing more.
Her ears finally quieted down. Because of the broken window, the fog flowed and scattered. Yue Xing only heard several more popping sounds, and the smoke spread even faster.
Yue Xing quickly glanced at Shen Jingmian.
This person had her eyes lowered carelessly, completely different from Shen You’s tense posture on the other side.
The star pirates had entered the ship long ago, yet they still had not made a move. They insisted on waiting until the smoke had spread.
Yue Xing subconsciously held her breath. Watching the approaching smoke, her expression turned grave.
Shen Jingmian was afraid Yue Xing would suffocate herself before the star pirates even arrived, so she spoke softly, “It’s not poisonous.” When Yue Xing covered her lips and looked over, revealing only a pair of clean black eyes as she gazed at her, Shen Jingmian added in a rather good mood, “Wait.”
Yue Xing could not figure out what Shen Jingmian was thinking. But seeing her composed and unhurried manner, then glancing over at Du Nian’s side and seeing that she was also crouching quietly, Yue Xing settled down.
In the end, Shen Jingmian started kicking her again!
Yue Xing did not dare move recklessly, but Shen Jingmian’s shoe tip brushed against her lower abdomen, nudging her from time to time as if deliberately teasing her. It tickled irritatingly.
With the enemy right in front of them, Yue Xing originally intended to endure it and carefully dodge backward.
The moment she moved, her back hit the tea table. The faint sound magnified in Yue Xing’s ears, and she instantly did not dare move again.
Holding herself back was useless. Yue Xing could only look at the culprit and force out a smile, gently reminding her.
“Senior, your foot is hitting me.”
Shen Jingmian’s lips parted slightly, as if she were about to say something, but she suddenly lifted her head and looked toward Shen You.
Yue Xing only saw Shen Jingmian’s fingertips move a few times. She was probably sending Shen You some kind of signal.
Footsteps finally stirred. Yue Xing instantly focused and listened. On the refined steel floor, no matter how light the sound was, it could not be hidden.
Seeing that the smoke had already passed over the sofa, the star pirates finally could not hold back and were about to act.
Fragmented sounds came from three directions. It seemed they were planning to surround and capture them all in one go. Yue Xing frowned and listened closely to the number of people.
They were called pirates, yet this group of people was even breathing at the same rhythm. Suspicion rose in Yue Xing’s heart.
She was just about to continue when another foot pressed against her lower abdomen. This time, it was even more excessive.
Not only did Shen Jingmian press against her, she even wanted to step on her!
Even a clay figurine had three parts fire in it. Yue Xing lowered her eyes and looked over. Shen Jingmian’s hand gestures had not stopped, and her beautiful brows were actually faintly furrowed.
Had she realized there was something wrong with these star pirates’ identities? Yue Xing guessed along that thread of suspicion, her anger stuck somewhere between rising and falling.
She could not say for certain whether Shen Jingmian was doing it on purpose, but at a critical moment like this, Yue Xing could only endure.
Yue Xing grabbed Shen Jingmian’s ankle and tried to pull it down. At that very moment, the smoke completely covered the top of their heads.
The orderly footsteps turned chaotic. With a whoosh, a white blade attacked from behind Shen Jingmian!
“Senior!” Yue Xing’s pupils shrank in alarm, and her body instinctively leaned back in defense.
Shen Jingmian gave her a push with one foot, helping her along. Yue Xing’s body tilted to the side.
A streak of white light flashed past. The blade stabbed into the sofa where she had just been, hitting nothing.
Yue Xing reacted swiftly. The second after Shen Jingmian kicked her away, she grabbed the edge of the tea table and rolled at the waist, flipping sideways to land on the floor.
The smoke finally covered everything completely at that moment. Yue Xing could not see a thing, and her heart tightened.
Damn it. What kind of rotten luck did she have?
Everything before her eyes was blurred. It seemed the other side wanted to clear out her and Du Nian first, or perhaps exhaust their strength. Sharp knives and blades came smashing toward this side like rain, one of them nearly grazing Yue Xing’s cheek.
Even with Yue Xing’s temper, she wanted to curse. She had never heard of star pirates robbing a military academy, and yet she had happened to run into it!
The thick fog concealed her vision. Yue Xing confirmed that the star pirates had not moved, then pressed her lips together and carefully shifted after grabbing two daggers.
Unsure of her opponents’ strength, she prepared to hide first.
Since Shen Jingmian could still toy with her while facing a powerful enemy, she must be very capable. It would be better to wait for her to resolve it.
Yue Xing carefully moved behind cover, but her wrist was suddenly grabbed.
“!” Yue Xing turned her hand and drove a dagger straight toward the person’s face.
It did not succeed. Instead, her wrist was seized and pinned down. A cold fragrance drew close.
“It’s me. Don’t move.”
Yue Xing let out a breath, but immediately felt she had relaxed too soon.
Shen Jingmian pinched her wrist and moved it downward, seemingly pointing at something, her movements completely erratic.
Yue Xing had to split her attention in two, forced to give half of it to her.
Both of her wrists were pinched and shaken for quite a while. Yue Xing almost mistakenly thought Shen Jingmian was feeling her bones to test her before Shen Jingmian finally spoke.
“Walk straight in this direction. The switch for the main control room is there. Go press the red button on the control panel, and the starship will activate its defense system.”
Yue Xing’s hand was suspended in midair. Shen Jingmian did not give her any room to refuse. She pushed her hand forward, directly ordering her to do as instructed.
“……”
Yue Xing took a deep breath. With the more urgent enemy ahead of her, she endured.
Behind her, Shen Jingmian watched her back, her eyes narrowing slightly.
The farther forward Yue Xing walked, the more careful she became. When she heard a buzzing sound, her steps stopped, and she tentatively raised a hand to touch it.
With a click, the door really opened.
The lights inside were bright. Yue Xing swept her gaze left and right, then decisively walked in. She found the red button Shen Jingmian had mentioned and pressed it.
The next second, the warning beeps stopped, and a fierce current of air swept through.
Sensing something, Yue Xing turned back. Inside the starship cabin, the fog thinned and dispersed at a visible speed.
Yue Xing finally caught a glimpse of what these so-called star pirates were.
There were at least thirty people standing inside the ship. Each wore a black-and-yellow combat uniform, with swords uniformly equipped at their waists. Strangely, every one of them wore a huge helmet that covered their neck.
Shen Jingmian swept them a glance, and a cold smile spilled from her eyes.
They had really spared no expense.
Seeing that the fog had dispersed, the leader decisively gave the order. “Kill her!”
“Yes!” The star pirates scattered, then closed in with Shen Jingmian at the center. Their killing intent was fully revealed, determined to erase her.
Yue Xing hid inside the control room, her eyes sharpening.
These people had come for Shen Jingmian. She simply did not know whether they were enemies or something else, but either way, it benefited her.
Shen Jingmian’s strength, Shen Jingmian’s enemies, Shen Jingmian herself… she had to understand all of it.
Now was an excellent opportunity.
The crowd pressed in all at once. Shen Jingmian spun aside to evade them and kicked one person hard in the shoulder. Her body brushed past the edge of a blade, then she reversed her hand and seized a sword, blocking the attack with a clang.
Her figure was crisp and efficient. Wherever her gray eyes landed, blood sprayed. Every stroke of her sword was decisive, and no one could stop her.
Yue Xing stared at her without blinking. The more she watched, the more force her palm bore, and the tighter her mind became.
Several times, that silver-haired figure fell into encirclement. Swords stabbed and blood flowed, yet Shen Jingmian did not lose so much as a strand of hair.
Yue Xing suspected that perhaps these people were too useless, but Shen You on the other side was in a sorry state, dodging left and right while grabbing Du Nian.
In front of Shen Jingmian, this group of people was like chickens made of clay and dogs made of pottery, unable to withstand a single blow. It looked like they were going to fail.
Yue Xing focused, and without realizing it, her hand braced against the door of the control room. Her fingertip suddenly hurt.
A thread of blood trailed down her knuckle. Yue Xing followed the spot and looked over, her pupils shrinking in shock.
There was actually a mechanism between the locking parts of the control room door. Serrated tips pointed outward in unison, their cold gleam sharp. They seemed movable…
In the corner of her vision, the three people outside were still fighting.
Blood slipped down from her pierced fingertip, vividly red. Yue Xing glanced at it, then decisively turned back to the control panel.
There were not many buttons on the control panel. Under highly intelligent operation, only a few had been retained, with icons engraved on the surface.
Yue Xing’s fingertip stopped on the sword-shaped icon. Calculations flashed through her mind one by one, and her black eyes grew brighter and brighter.
She could not kill Shen Jingmian. The trash outside could not kill Shen Jingmian either. But if another accident were added in?
Yue Xing returned to the control room doorway. The fighting in the cabin had still not ended.
Shen Jingmian was surrounded in a full circle. Shen You’s side was relatively better, but because she had to protect Du Nian, she could not go help Shen Jingmian.
Yue Xing shouted to Shen You, “Senior! Come this way!”
Shen You sent one person flying with a sweep of her sword and pushed Du Nian away without hesitation. “Go find Yue Xing!”
With blades clashing, Du Nian did not dare delay. She quickly ran toward Yue Xing.
Someone came after her. Shen You turned and directly blocked them, but these people rushed toward her sword as if they did not fear death, forcibly using a wall of bodies to trap her.
Shen You could only watch helplessly as five people passed her and ran toward the control room. Her gaze flashed, and hostility suddenly surged.
She would not make it in time.
“Shen Jingmian!”
Before her voice had even landed, Shen You saw Shen Jingmian’s figure brush past her side, her face extremely cold.
Yue Xing dragged Du Nian to the control panel and stood there with her hands behind her back. Because of excessive tension, her body had instead restrained even her breathing.
Behind the black-and-yellow figures, Shen Jingmian was chasing at extreme speed.
Soon. Almost there.
Yue Xing licked her lips, the blood in her whole body churning.
Shen Jingmian struck even more ruthlessly than before, sealing a throat with one sword strike. Using one person as leverage, she rushed straight toward the first attacker.
The leader’s back went cold. That chilling gaze followed her closely, as if in the next second, her head and body would be separated.
Hurry. Faster.
Yue Xing’s pupils stared straight at Shen Jingmian. Seeing that silver-white figure gradually enlarge in her eyes, her heartbeat sounded so loud, and the corner of her mouth could not help trembling.
In the middle of the chase, Shen Jingmian’s gaze suddenly lifted.
Now!
Yue Xing decisively pressed the mechanism button and stared straight at Shen Jingmian.
With a metallic clang, the serrated killing formation appeared in an instant.
Yue Xing met Shen Jingmian’s cold, silent gray eyes, and her heart suddenly jolted.
