The Wheelchair Scum Alpha Has Something to Say (GL) - Chapter 6
Chapter 006: Bai Yue’s Housekeeper-Wife
Chen Mengyi was right. Bai Yue’s condition was absolutely one of the best among all paralyzed patients.
Other patients couldn’t possibly spend so much money just to maintain their physical state. Furthermore, Chen Mengyi was genuinely dedicated. As far as Chen Mengyi was concerned, the fact that Bai Yue’s legs were maintained so well was largely her own achievement.
So, she didn’t think they were ugly; she only thought: Hmm, I’m really great.
Bai Yue also felt the same way; in this regard, Bai Yue was quite grateful to Chen Mengyi.
The towel was tossed aside by Chen Mengyi, who then took out a bottle of essential oil. She squeezed a little onto her hands, rubbed it open with her palms, and then applied it to Bai Yue’s legs. She gently asked, “Yueyue, is it cold?”
Bai Yue shook her head: “It’s fine.”
The Bai family had central air conditioning, running 365 days a year to ensure the room was at the most comfortable temperature, so Bai Yue wouldn’t feel cold. Besides, it was summer now, and the weather was hot, so how could it be cold? But Chen Mengyi still worried. Since the essential oil was cold, she used her pinky, which hadn’t touched the oil, to hook the edge of the thin blanket nearby and pull it over Bai Yue’s abdomen.
“Yueyue, cover your stomach so you don’t catch a chill.”
Sometimes, Chen Mengyi really was like a busy mother. But Chen Mengyi was doing it for her own good, so Bai Yue certainly wouldn’t be tactless. She grasped the thin blanket and pulled it over herself, covering her stomach.
Chen Mengyi watched her obediently cover her stomach, then continued her hand movements. With the essential oil in her palms, she applied it directly to Bai Yue’s thighs, then worked her way down, massaging Bai Yue’s legs, adding a little more oil when it ran out.
Looking at Chen Mengyi’s focused movements, Bai Yue knew that if her legs had sensation, it would feel very comfortable. She tilted her head to look at Chen Mengyi, who was standing by the bed massaging her legs, and noticed a thin sheen of sweat on her forehead. She was still wearing that evening gown; she hadn’t even had time to change.
Bai Yue always felt that she was Chen Mengyi’s priority. The Chen Mengyi who was seriously helping massage and relax her legs wouldn’t appear in front of anyone else. Thinking this, Bai Yue felt a little proud.
Chen Mengyi noticed Bai Yue’s gaze and looked back at her: “What is it?”
“You’re sweating.”
Chen Mengyi was momentarily surprised. She raised her hand and rubbed her forehead with the back of her hand. It was indeed a bit clammy: “It is, isn’t it? I’ll take a shower later.”
That “later” was truly just talk, because the time Chen Mengyi spent massaging Bai Yue’s legs every day started at at least an hour and a half. Halfway through, Bai Yue was already getting sleepy. All she knew was that Chen Mengyi finished applying the oil, used a hot compress to apply to her legs to promote blood circulation, and also massaged her feet.
After all that was done, it was already half past ten.
Bai Yue was truly asleep. After the massage, Chen Mengyi let Bai Yue drowse for a bit, then gently pushed Bai Yue’s shoulder: “Yueyue, don’t sleep yet. Get up and take a shower.” Bai Yue opened her eyes and softly “Mmm-ed.” However, the bathing part was not for Chen Mengyi to do.
No matter how close Chen Mengyi and Bai Yue were, they hadn’t reached that level, and since Chen Mengyi was an Omega and Bai Yue an Alpha, there was no way Chen Mengyi could bathe Bai Yue. So Chen Mengyi turned and pressed the bedside bell, and a maid walked in shortly after.
“Take Yueyue to take a bath.”
“Yes, Miss Chen.”
Bai Yue extended her hand to the maid. The Alpha maid easily picked Bai Yue up and carried her to the bathroom. Chen Mengyi called another maid to tidy the room and then remade Bai Yue’s bed. While the room was being prepared, Chen Mengyi went back to her own room to take a shower and blow-dry her hair.
She knew Bai Yue took a long time to bathe.
Bai Yue was a very self-respecting girl. Accepting being carried into the bathtub was her limit; she absolutely refused to let someone bathe her. All the maid could do was fill the special bathtub with water and place Bai Yue inside. The maid would wait outside the bathroom door for Bai Yue’s instructions, go in to help change the water when Bai Yue called her, and then, after Bai Yue was thoroughly clean, carry her out and help her dry the difficult-to-reach lower limbs.
So, Chen Mengyi could take her time blowing her hair and changing into her pajamas before returning to Bai Yue’s bedroom.
When Bai Yue saw Chen Mengyi, she pursed her lips: “You have to work tomorrow. I can blow-dry my hair myself. You don’t need to come help me.” Chen Mengyi just smiled and held out her hand to Bai Yue. Bai Yue, sitting in her nightgown in the wheelchair, was holding a hairdryer. Seeing Chen Mengyi’s posture, Bai Yue could only sigh and hand over the hairdryer.
Chen Mengyi’s hands were very steady. She lifted weights every day; how could she not be steady?
Her other hand ran through Bai Yue’s hair, deftly helping her blow-dry it. Bai Yue’s hair wasn’t long; if it were too long, it would be inconvenient for her, so it didn’t take much time to dry. The hair gradually dried under Chen Mengyi’s hands. After drying, Chen Mengyi reached for hair mask and applied some to Bai Yue’s hair.
Only after all these little chores were finished did Chen Mengyi carry Bai Yue back to bed. Chen Mengyi checked again to make sure the doors and windows were closed and that everything Bai Yue needed was within reach. After Bai Yue took her medicine, Chen Mengyi finally said goodnight to her.
Bai Yue knew that Chen Mengyi was actually not very comfortable with her sleeping on the first floor. Although the Bai family’s security system was very comprehensive, one always fears the worst. If a thief or kidnapper were to breach the security system and enter the house, Bai Yue, living on the first floor, could easily be kidnapped or something similar.
Frankly, Bai Yue thought Chen Mengyi was being a bit overly anxious. The Bai family’s security system was already excellent. Besides, in this kind of novel world, villains are usually kidnapped during childhood. Once the story begins, only the protagonists are likely to be kidnapped.
Chen Mengyi left, but Bai Yue wasn’t sleepy. She reached under her pillow and took out her phone. She opened her notes app and quickly scrolled through the text. After the voice in her dream mysteriously appeared, telling her she could return to the real world if she completed the plot, she was terrified of forgetting the plot and had written it all down.
However, twenty years had passed now, and she had skimmed the novel anyway. As a lesbian, she genuinely wasn’t interested in a heterosexual novel. If it weren’t for the villain with the same name and Chen Mengyi, Bai Yue wouldn’t have finished reading it. Now, she didn’t remember much of the plot, but she did remember the few key points where she had to cause trouble for the female protagonist.
She also remembered the reason she was supposed to cause trouble: because she was extremely unhappy, she couldn’t stand to see Su Xi happy.
This logic made no sense at all; it was enough to make Bai Yue scratch her head. But the original Bai Yue probably felt that both of them were Alphas who faced discrimination: Bai Yue because of her legs, and Su Xi because of her delicate, “white flower” looks and frail body. Both were criticized and privately looked down upon by others.
They were originally all unfortunate people. Bai Yue at least felt she had someone to put at the bottom with her, but then, one day, Su Xi suddenly reached the peak of her life, so Bai Yue felt unbalanced.
She could understand it, but she couldn’t accept it.
That’s what Bai Yue thought.
Wuwuwu, and now she had to start bothering Su Xi. She felt a pang of guilt at this moment. She didn’t want to bother Su Xi, but she had no choice. Don’t worry, Su Xi. When the time comes, I’ll carve out a small part of the inheritance I leave to Mengyi and give it to you as compensation!
Bai Yue struggled to move her body. She couldn’t, so she remained lying on her back, holding her phone up. Since childhood, she had smashed her face with her phone many times in this position. Damn it, being a cripple comes with all sorts of problems.
She could also choose to press the button to lift her mattress. Bai Yue’s bed was a special medical bed, and with just one button, it could change posture into a suitable reading mode. The problem was that her room was a bit too smart; if she did that, her room’s reading light would also turn on, and the maids outside would see the light…
Then they would report it to Chen Mengyi the next day.
That way, Chen Mengyi would know she was secretly staying up late playing on her phone! Although she wouldn’t scold Bai Yue, she would say with a hint of regret and heartache, “Yueyue, I’m not forbidding you from playing on your phone, but it’s bad for your health. Your body is already weak, and staying up late will further lower your immunity.”
This made Bai Yue, even at twenty-six, feel as if she were still being managed by her mother.
She finished reading the phone, turned off the screen, and placed it back behind her pillow. If her memory served her right, the first thing she needed to do to cause trouble was… to insert her own person into the TV series Su Xi was planning to invest in.
What a big bad guy. Here was someone bravely taking the first step after transmigrating, investing in a movie, only to be maliciously thwarted by Bai Yue, who insisted on adding a character. This caused Su Xi a lot of trouble and also made Chen Mengyi lose a lot of money because of the movie. If it hadn’t been for this, Su Xi wouldn’t have needed investment and found Bai Shizhou, giving Bai Shizhou an opportunity to play the hero and save the beauty.
Bai Yue scoffed at herself, then lifted her head and pressed the back of her head into the soft pillow, vaguely falling asleep.
The next morning, the bedside alarm rang. Before Bai Yue could lift her hand to press the snooze button, Chen Mengyi had already pressed it off. Bai Yue opened her eyes and saw Chen Mengyi standing by her bed, flashing her a very bright smile: “Yueyue, good morning, time to wake up.”
