Transmigrated as the Villain’s Sword - Chapter 76
In the dim light, the woman’s expression was unreadable; only her low, heavy breathing echoed near Ling Chenyan’s ear.
After a long silence, the woman’s hands exerted a slight force, hoisting Ling Chenyan higher against the door. She lowered her head, leaning close, and asked in a low voice: “Are you not even a little worried that I might like someone else?”
Ling Chenyan froze, repeating: “Someone else?”
She looked at Guan Luowei’s silent, brooding face, feeling somewhat confused. “But… who else could Your Highness possibly like?”
Ling Chenyan’s gaze wandered before landing back on Guan Luowei. She suddenly remembered how, when Guan Luowei had been called out that afternoon, she had emphasized twice that she would be back soon. Ling Chenyan hadn’t paid much attention then, but thinking back now—could Guan Luowei be brooding because of that?
She shot a suspicious look at the woman in front of her and said tentatively: “Chief Zong?”
The next second, the woman looked up at her, her clear, crystalline gaze filled with resolve: “No.”
Ling Chenyan found it a bit funny. She could see it now—Guan Luowei was overthinking because of her nonchalant attitude earlier that afternoon.
She hooked her arms around the woman’s neck and deliberately whispered in a pitiful tone near her ear: “Then… will Your Highness fall for anyone else?”
Ling Chenyan’s tactic was effective. Almost instantly, the woman tightened her grip around her waist and shook her head against her shoulder.
“Then what did Your Highness mean by that?” Ling Chenyan let out a triumphant laugh. “Since Your Highness won’t fall for anyone else, what do I have to worry about?”
“Or rather…” Ling Chenyan curled her lips, looking down at the woman’s red lips. She leaned in slowly, stopping only an inch away until she could hear the woman’s quickening breath. “Is it that Your Highness wants me to worry a little more?”
Guan Luowei’s breath hitched. She looked flustered and lost, whispering: “I didn’t.”
Ling Chenyan stifled a laugh in her heart. Guan Luowei’s current behavior was exactly like an “elementary schooler” in a new relationship—wishing the other person would show they care by being jealous, yet too embarrassed to say so.
“Oh,” Ling Chenyan let out a long drawl. “I see. Your Highness can rest easy; I won’t get jealous over nothing, and I won’t interfere with the things you need to do.”
Since Guan Luowei refused to be direct, Ling Chenyan decided to use reverse psychology to force her hand.
Sure enough, upon hearing this, the woman’s brow drooped. She clearly didn’t want Ling Chenyan to be as indifferent as she claimed, but in the end, she only gave a low “Mm,” still refusing to open up.
Ling Chenyan was getting a bit frustrated, cursing in her head: [What a blockhead! She clearly hates the idea, so why won’t she just say it?!]
Though she cursed internally, she remained silent on the outside.
Hearing the girl’s inner thoughts, Guan Luowei fell into a dilemma. On one hand, she desperately wanted to tell the girl to care more; on the other hand, she couldn’t bring herself to say it.
Just then, the girl asked again: “Highness, is that really what you think?”
Guan Luowei gritted her teeth slightly and looked directly into the girl’s eyes: “No. I want you to be more jealous. I want you to care about me more. At the very least, don’t act like you don’t care when others like me.”
After finishing, Guan Luowei lowered her eyes again. Hearing the girl’s counter-question, she had felt that if she didn’t speak now, the girl truly would act that way in the future. Driven by worry, she had poured out her inner thoughts.
Now that the words were out, she felt a bit embarrassed, worried that she sounded too childish.
Ling Chenyan looked at the woman’s downcast eyes. After her initial shock, she burst into a giggle. Leaning into the woman’s reddening ear, she said: “I thought you’d never say it.”
Guan Luowei bit her lip, refusing to speak.
Ling Chenyan leaned her head on the woman’s shoulder, pressing her body closer to hers. “Highness, I’m very happy you said it. But since you’ve been honest, I’ll be honest too: I am jealous, and I care very much about your contact with people who like you. However, I believe in your love for me, so I’m comfortable letting you go. It’s not that I don’t care; it’s that I trust you.”
The gloom in Guan Luowei’s heart vanished at the girl’s gentle words. She couldn’t help but pull the girl closer, whispering: “I understand.”
“I won’t betray your trust.”
As the last word fell, Guan Luowei kissed the girl’s rosy lips again, swallowing the teasing words she was about to say.
Soon, Ling Chenyan’s defenses crumbled, and she was laid upon the bed.
Guan Luowei was usually a person of restraint. After kissing the girl, she stopped, preparing to sit up and straighten the girl’s clothes.
Ling Chenyan was dazed and flushed. Looking at the woman’s crimson lips and the alluring red mole beneath her eye, she suddenly didn’t want to let her go. She was already feeling the heat; how could Guan Luowei just leave her like this?
As the woman moved to rise, Ling Chenyan hooked her legs around the woman’s firm waist. Once they were inseparable, she brushed against her lightly, seemingly by accident.
Feeling the woman’s waist suddenly stiffen, she hugged her neck, her eyes shimmering with moisture. “Highness… it’s uncomfortable.”
Ling Chenyan knew exactly what she was doing. Hearing the woman’s deepening breath and seeing her strained brow, she spoke again in a clingy voice: “Highness, I feel so uncomfortable. Help me.”
As she spoke, she moved her slender waist against the woman.
Seeing the slight flush in Guan Luowei’s upward-slanting phoenix eyes and her struggle for self-control, Ling Chenyan felt a surge of secret pleasure. Finally, under this plea, the woman moved. She pressed down hard, the frost on her brow long since replaced by passion.
“How should I help?” Guan Luowei panted heavily, suppressing the urge to devour the girl.
The girl’s eyes were hazy, her red lips curving into a slight, dangerous smile as she whispered in the woman’s ear: “Highness… have me.”
The string of restraint Guan Luowei had been desperately holding finally snapped.
As their breathing filled the room and Guan Luowei was about to remove the girl’s final layer of clothing, a voice suddenly rang out from outside:
“REPORT—Highness! His Majesty requests your presence to discuss urgent matters!”
The words exploded like a thunderclap. Looking at the girl’s startled eyes, Guan Luowei could barely contain the cold fury in her voice. She turned her head and growled: “GET OUT.”
The demon guard outside trembled in terror and scrambled away, not daring to say another word.
Usually, the Princess is cold, but she’s never been this fierce. Could she have fought with the Young Madam? As the guard ran, he quickly concluded that the couple must have had a massive fallout.
When he reported to the Old Demon Emperor, the Emperor frowned deeply and nodded, thinking to himself that he must counsel Guan Luowei later. Young couples always bicker, but there’s nothing a good night together can’t fix.
Back in the palace, Ling Chenyan buried her face in the quilt, her face redder than a tomato. If it hadn’t been for that guard, she and Guan Luowei would have been… But how could she have said such embarrassing things?!
She lay there feeling like her soul had left her body. Knowing Guan Luowei was still watching her from the bedside, she muffled a voice from under the covers: “Highness, go on. It wouldn’t be this late if it weren’t important.”
Guan Luowei’s temple throbbed. She looked at the girl hiding in the bed, her eyes like frozen ice. After a low response, she dressed herself with lightning speed and walked out.
Her pace made it clear to anyone watching: she was in a very, very bad mood.
In the Demon Hall, the Old Emperor was discussing the Secret Moon Realm with the clan elders. Suddenly, he heard the guard outside announce “Highness,” and the closed doors were slammed open. A frost-covered Guan Luowei strode in.
The Old Emperor’s heart skipped a beat at the sight of her face. With a face that sour, how big was the fight? Thank goodness I called her here.
He coughed and said: “Weiwei, you’ve come at the right time. We have things to discuss.”
Guan Luowei took her seat. Even with a lungful of frustration, she managed to ask: “What is it?”
The Old Emperor signaled Guan Tianci.
Guan Tianci relayed the information from the Grand Assembly: “…So, the Alliance wants the three races to move together to seize the Evil-Quelling Heavenly Book from the secret realm and use the Divine Artifact to fight the Evil Race. However, His Majesty and the elders believe we must keep some power here to guard the clan. Therefore, the task of going to the realm will be led by you, Highness.”
Guan Luowei nodded. “When do we depart?”
“Tomorrow,” Guan Tianci said. “Time is tight, hence the late interruption.”
“Fine,” Guan Luowei said. “I will take two of my Chiefs and half of the clan’s elites above the Spirit-Severing stage.”
The matter was settled, and the elders departed. Guan Luowei was asked to stay behind.
“Weiwei,” the Old Emperor said, turning around. “Did you and Yinye have a fight?”
Guan Luowei lifted her eyes coldly. “No. Where did Your Majesty hear that?”
“No fight?” The Old Emperor looked back in surprise. “The guard said you were extremely fierce. If not a fight, then what?”
Guan Luowei said flatly: “It was nothing.”
The Old Emperor was no fool. If it wasn’t a fight, why the explosive temper? He looked at the time, then at the sky outside, and suddenly felt a pang of regret. Damn it! If I had called for her just a little bit later, would I have been a great-grandfather soon?!
A look of pain flashed across his face. “Weiwei, it’s late. Go back quickly. Don’t let Yinye wait too long.”
Guan Luowei took a deep breath. “No need. I’m going back to pack my things.” She turned and left.
Left alone, the Old Emperor wallowed in deep remorse. After his regret, he began to ponder: So, who should be the one to give birth to the great-granddaughter?
In a cave within the Demon-Beast Forest, Lin Qingwan was holding her breath to heal her injuries. Suddenly, she opened her eyes and looked toward the entrance. A black fluid flowed from the edge of her bed toward the outside.
A moment later, a brilliant golden light erupted outside the cave. A man slowly stepped inside.
“Your Highness, Evil King. How about we make a deal?”
