Chapter 29 – Cute
“It’s not a big deal, don’t cry.” Seeing the faint redness at the corners of Yu Shuinao’s eyes, Meng Zhao quickly stopped her. She didn’t want the atmosphere to become too heavy or emotional, so she deliberately teased with a mischievous smile, “What kind of love potion did she feed you to make you this smitten?”
Although she knew Meng Zhao was only trying to change the subject, the moment the topic came up, Yu Shuinao still felt a little embarrassed. She smoothed her side hair as if to hide it and replied, “Didn’t you say back then… that she was completely dream-lover level?”
Meng Zhao was choked by those words and immediately regretted why she had praised Xie Yixuan like that back then.
“I was just saying it casually. Who knew she would really become your dream lover?” Meng Zhao held her forehead, growing even more curious. “I thought she was very distant, the type you can only admire from afar, so I just praised her offhandedly. You can actually fall for this kind of ice queen? Heavens, when did you start liking this type?”
Distant.
This word precisely struck Yu Shuinao’s heart.
On one hand, she couldn’t restrain herself from being attracted to Xie Yixuan and wanted to get closer to her, which was why she had made so many bold moves that even now made her blush when she thought about them.
On the other hand, because of the woman’s distant status, aloof temperament, and the instinctive fear of wanting but not getting when her heart moved, she would always feel nervous and even a little timid in front of her.
“Tell me, when did you start liking this ice-queen type?” Meng Zhao wouldn’t let her stay silent and shook her hand.
Ice queen…?
Multiple wicked scenes flashed through Yu Shuinao’s mind — those annoying low chuckles that made her embarrassed. She hesitated and said, “It’s not… not that icy, actually.”
Meng Zhao looked at her expression and nodded meaningfully. “Got it. She’s not icy toward you.”
…
After returning to the capital, work was relatively relaxed. Cheng Lingheng had taken on a few big-name beauty brand sub-line product advertisements for her. Every day she shot ads and picked scripts — the days were actually quite leisurely.
But Xie Yixuan seemed very busy again. The most common thing Aunt Zhou said was that she wouldn’t be back for dinner. Yu Shuinao often fell asleep without hearing her return. When she woke up the next day, Xie Yixuan had already gone to the company. She wouldn’t see a trace of her all day. Sometimes she even slept at the company.
No wonder she could succeed… her energy was too strong.
Yu Shuinao even started wondering if she really had to stay here.
Another day of work ended. After eating the healthy dinner Aunt Zhou had prepared, she felt there were still benefits to staying here.
At least she didn’t have to think about what to eat every day.
After showering, she stayed in her room for a while and felt a little bored. Wrapping herself in a bathrobe, she wandered around the house.
Although she had been staying here for some time, she hadn’t really explored the third floor much.
The study…
Very minimalist decor, no redundant decorations. Files and books were neatly organized.
Afraid of touching anything related to commercial secrets, Yu Shuinao didn’t go in.
The gym…
One entire wall was a large, bright floor-to-ceiling mirror. All kinds of fitness equipment were available. Thinking of the woman’s beautiful muscle lines, she had no doubt about how often the gym was used. Even with such a busy schedule, she still had the energy for body management.
At the end of the corridor, she pushed open the last door. This was…
A huge screen dominated the center of the room. The carpet was soft and thick. A few steps led downward. One wall had built-in recessed cabinets with small lights illuminating rows of treasured items. The solid wood surfaces were spotless.
The richness of the collection was jaw-dropping — classic film reels, DVDs, and videotapes from famous domestic and international directors. Standard editions, collector’s editions, limited editions, all neatly arranged. On the bookshelves were notebooks, scripts, storyboards, and original posters — either long out of print or with autographs, priceless even if available on the market.
Were these… all Xie Yixuan’s personal collection?
At the very edge of the cabinet, she found a row of Chen Song’s classic drama videotapes. Yu Shuinao picked one she hadn’t seen before, carefully took it out, and put it into the projector.
…
As the year drew to a close, various reports and summaries flew in like snowflakes. The group had expanded its business a lot this year. Even after repeatedly demanding streamlined processes and improved efficiency, overtime was still unavoidable.
She held a meeting in the evening and coldly scolded the senior executives.
She really couldn’t understand how the work could turn out like this.
Originally planning to return to the office to continue handling documents, Ming Yu walked over slowly with a cup of coffee and advised her not to work overtime and to go home early.
She said that with her in the company, everyone was walking on thin ice and the atmosphere was oppressively heavy.
Xie Yixuan replied indifferently, “If they can’t even handle this little pressure, their work ability really needs to be reassessed.”
Even so, she felt a bit irritated inside and had no mood to stay any longer. She called for the car and went back to Mirror Lake Bay.
When passing by a certain room on the second floor, she noticed the door wasn’t closed tightly, only ajar, and the lights inside weren’t on.
Xie Yixuan stopped.
Ten o’clock at night — not too late, not too early.
As if possessed, Xie Yixuan pushed open that door.
Her night vision was excellent. Borrowing the light from the corridor, she confirmed no one was in the room.
The phone was still on the bedside table. It didn’t look like she had gone out.
Where had she gone?
Xie Yixuan stroked the ring on her left hand, turned around, and went up to the third floor.
Faint sounds gave her a target. She walked toward the end of the corridor.
The door to the screening room wasn’t closed.
She descended the steps and finally found the person she was looking for.
She had actually fallen asleep.
The young woman was relaxed and deeply sunk into the soft sofa. Her thick black hair spread across the backrest. A few soft strands clung to her fair neck. Her body rose and fell with her light, shallow breathing. The screen’s light and shadows flowed and flickered. The hazy light spilled over her face, outlining soft contours.
Her long lashes hung quietly, her brows relaxed and peaceful. Under the changing light and shadows, her lips were full and moist. She seemed immersed in a sweet dream. The corners of her naturally slightly curved lips were lifted, making her beautiful little lip pearl look extremely tempting, as if silently inviting someone to pluck it.
She slept without any defenses — quiet, obedient, revealing a lovable purity.
Xie Yixuan’s heart felt as if lightly scratched by a feather over and over.
She walked over naturally and sat down beside her.
The dialogue from the screen seemed to gradually fade. She leaned closer and closer.
Unable to restrain herself, she raised her hand and gently stroked her cheek.
…
A slightly cool touch, yet it didn’t annoy her. Instead, it carried a reassuring scent. Yu Shuinao unconsciously rubbed against her palm, greedily drawing in that familiar scent. Her consciousness gradually returned as she slowly woke from her dream.
Her lashes trembled lightly. She opened her eyes, her vision shifting from blurry to clear.
The person in front of her was half-turned toward her, half against the light. Flowing light and shadows clearly outlined the bright and dark boundaries on her face. When the light passed over, it illuminated her smooth, graceful jawline and straight nose. Her already very deep pupils looked even deeper like a cold pool at this moment, drawing people in to drown within them.
Her long, straight lashes hung down, casting a faint shadow beneath her eyelids.
She was looking at her without blinking.
This realization made Yu Shuinao’s heartbeat gradually lose its rhythm.
Their gazes intertwined, yet both remained silent. Even the hand resting on her cheek paused.
The dialogue in the drama stopped, replaced by a gentle, flowing piano piece.
Xie Yixuan’s slightly leaning posture almost seemed to be embracing her.
Was it her illusion? Why did she feel the woman was getting closer and closer? Making the already warm air grow scorching.
Her lips felt a little dry. She subconsciously licked them.
The woman’s calm eyes seemed to move, a faint light flashing in their depths.
Realizing that her action in this atmosphere was full of suggestion, Yu Shuinao’s ears burned. She lowered her lashes, wanting to avoid Xie Yixuan’s gaze.
But Xie Yixuan wouldn’t let her. She lifted her chin with her fingers and applied slight force, silently forcing her to look at her.
Yu Shuinao had no choice but to raise her eyes. This time she confirmed it wasn’t an illusion — the woman really was getting closer. When their noses touched, she paused for a moment, like an extremely patient hunter enjoying the prey’s tension and trembling.
The crisp scent was so close. Yu Shuinao tilted her face up, her heart pounding like a drum.
She felt the woman’s cool lips press against hers.
Should she close her eyes?
She actually started thinking about such a question like it was her first kiss, but the other party didn’t give her time to think anymore.
Xie Yixuan’s other hand supported the back of her head as she gently sucked and kissed her lips — pressing, sucking, then slightly pulling away, repeating the cycle. That little lip pearl was cherished like a treasure as she sucked on it with extreme patience.
After kissing her lips enough, Xie Yixuan extended her tongue to trace the shape of her lips, luring Yu Shuinao to part them and invite her in to chase and tangle.
Yu Shuinao was kissed until her mind went blank. Her fingers unconsciously clutched the woman’s coat.
The faint wet sounds of saliva intertwining made her dizzy with desire.
Until she felt the woman’s hand seemed to be tugging at her thin bathrobe. She mumbled vaguely, “…Don’t… mmm… not here…”
Xie Yixuan pulled back slightly. A very fine strand of saliva connected their lips.
Yu Shuinao looked down and realized the woman was only helping her straighten the collar of her bathrobe that had gotten messed up.
“Don’t what?” The woman’s voice carried a smile.
She turned her face away in embarrassment, not wanting to look at her.
Xie Yixuan gently turned her face back. Her eyes were burning.
“Hmm?” She kissed her again.
This position was actually a bit awkward. Yu Shuinao’s neck felt slightly sore. She moved lightly. Xie Yixuan noticed and directly pulled her onto her lap to sit, lowering her head to continue the deep kiss.
Sitting in the lap of the person she liked and being kissed like this made Yu Shuinao’s bones go soft. She completely sank into her embrace.
The air in the screening room grew hotter and hotter. The images on the screen changed several times, and the background sound shifted from pure music back to character dialogue.
Xie Yixuan’s tongue tangled with hers until she let out a soft moan. At that moment, Chen Song’s sonorous and forceful line came from the excellent sound system:
“You say you love her? It seems you’ve forgotten your identity and responsibility, forgotten your promise to the people! Betraying the sacrifices of millions for so-called love is simply foolish to the extreme, absurd to the extreme!”
Chen Song’s line delivery was too good. The solemn and angry rebuke made the two people immersed in lust unconsciously pause. They slowly separated their lips.
Their hot breaths intertwined.
This feeling… was too strange. It was like being caught by Chen Song in the middle of kissing — and cheating at that.
Moreover, Yu Shuinao was panting as she looked at Xie Yixuan. The woman’s brows were slightly furrowed, her expression strange. There was still a trace of moisture on her lips. She looked a little… dazed.
For some reason, she found her very cute.
“Pfft—” Yu Shuinao lowered her head slightly and laughed with delight.
When she laughed, her eyes were full of affection, her nose wrinkled lightly, and the corners of her lips curved into a sweet arc.
Brilliant as spring flowers, bright as the autumn moon.
The innocent yet seductive charm blended perfectly on her.
Who could resist such a heart-stealing smile from a beauty?
Xie Yixuan couldn’t.
She unconsciously curved her own lips and tightened the arm around Yu Shuinao’s waist, pulling her even more intimately into her embrace.
“Why did you choose to watch this?”
Yu Shuinao nuzzled into her arms. “I hadn’t seen this one by Teacher Chen before. She’s a great senior… I really like her.”
Xie Yixuan hummed lowly. “You like her so much that you fell asleep?”
Yu Shuinao mumbled, “I…”
She had indeed gotten used to falling asleep around this time lately. The beginning of the film had a slow pace, and the sofa was so comfortable. Before she knew it, she had dozed off.
“She would probably be quite sad if she knew.”
Thinking of Chen Song’s deliberately disappointed expression toward Xie Yixuan that day — although it was a joke — falling asleep while watching her work… Yu Shuinao still didn’t want her to know.
“Don’t tell her…” She placed her hand on Xie Yixuan’s shoulder, her tone soft.
Xie Yixuan looked at her silently with no particular expression.
“Okay?” Yu Shuinao pinched her shoulder. The clothes were a bit thick — she didn’t know if she could feel it.
“What’s the hush money?” Xie Yixuan asked leisurely.
“What?” Yu Shuinao blinked, not knowing what she wanted.
The woman’s gaze landed on her lips.
Yu Shuinao felt like she understood, but she wasn’t sure.
Xie Yixuan gave a very small upward nod of her chin, as if confirming her guess.
Yu Shuinao hesitated for a moment, then shyly cupped her face and gave her light, pecking kisses on her thin lips.
“Don’t tell her, okay?” She kissed while softly pleading.
Before long, she was pulled tightly into the woman’s arms, not allowed to move anymore.
The woman leaned close to her ear, lightly bit her soft earlobe, and said in a low, seductive voice:
“Go to my room?”
