Why Not (Lily ABO) - Chapter 49
Having had so much fun over the last three days, Fu Shuyun almost forgot about her final exams. It was undeniable that dating affected her studies, though for her, it was in a positive way, seeing as her sister studied finance.
It wasn’t until yesterday, after seeing her parents off, that Yun Yan reminded her that the final assignment was due soon. After they made love, she didn’t even let Shi Jing withdraw her cock and insisted Sister teach her.
Sister taught her so clearly and simply that the class today felt dull. Yesterday, she teased Sister that teaching might be a good job for her, but then immediately forbade her from becoming a teacher, thinking she would be pursued relentlessly by students at school. Finally, the day’s classes ended. Before she could leave the classroom, she saw Young Master Li peeking in the doorway.
Didn’t he get beaten badly enough a few days ago?
She truly misunderstood. After receiving the anonymous email from Shi Jing last night, his father almost turned white-haired overnight. He couldn’t understand how their secrets were exposed when they were hidden so well, until he heard his useless son tell his friends what had happened.
Snatching the business card from his son’s hand—Fu Corporation, Project Management General Manager Shi Jing. He didn’t know who Fu Shuyun was, but he knew exactly who Shi Jing was. Doing business in D City, they were bound to cooperate with Cundong at some point. He thought he wouldn’t see her at Cundong, but it turned out she wasn’t working for her own family but for the Fu Corporation in A City.
After investigating, he realized Fu Shuyun was Fu Linfeng’s daughter. This good-for-nothing son truly provoked two people he shouldn’t have.
Shi Jing’s demand was simple: immediate withdrawal from school. But it was more than just withdrawal; with a word from Cundong and the Fu Corporation, their family would essentially be ruined. This forced him to apologize to Fu Shuyun, hoping Shi Jing would let it go.
“I remember you didn’t say that at the school gate the other day, did you?”
“Adults should take responsibility for their words.”
Hmph. An apology after making a mistake? Does the victim deserve to be bullied? Begging Shi Jing for mercy was out of the question. Sister was already being very lenient; if Ma-mi found out, it wouldn’t be as simple as just withdrawing from school.
She left those words and happily went to a club dinner. The gathering was originally scheduled for the break, but she pushed it to today, claiming she had important things to attend to.
She deliberately sat next to Shi Xu, startling him. It turned out she was there to hear the gossip about Sister, and Shi Xu provided a wealth of exaggerated details. He could already imagine how miserable Shi Jing would be tormented. Shi Xu was still resentful about being used as a tool for three days, so he decided to take a small revenge on his dear sister through Fu Shuyun.
It was true, Shi Jing was 28. Many companies had long been interested in a marriage alliance, trying to marry their daughters off to Shi Jing. Although the Shi family had no such intention, being harassed was unavoidable.
Fu Shuyun listened and silently took notes. She knew exactly what kind of person Sister was. What normal Alpha would voluntarily use inhibitors? If she hadn’t met Shi Jing, she wouldn’t even know such a thing existed.
During the study week, Fu Shuyun mostly stayed at school preparing for exams, while Shi Jing was busy with various year-end meetings.
When she occasionally ran into Shi Xu at school, she would ask many questions about Shi Jing, such as an Omega who fiercely pursued her in high school, a crush on a senior in university, how she convinced their parents to let her stay in A City, and how she tricked her younger brother.
Hearing that Shi Xu was forced to choose his major because Sister didn’t study architecture, Fu Shuyun couldn’t help but laugh out loud. She never knew Sister had such a willful side.
“Thank you, little brother. I’ll buy you dinner next time!”
She left a thank you and happily returned to the dorm to pack. She had one last exam tomorrow, and then the winter break would begin.
At Jiang Xu’s insistence, Fu Shuyun dragged her suitcase back to her own home after the exam. Before dating, she basically returned every weekend. Now that she was dating, she lived at her girlfriend’s house and seemingly didn’t care about her mothers anymore.
“What’s wrong? Still thinking about your sister? I’ll have your mother bring her home tonight; you can sleep here tonight.”
“Linfeng, Shu Yun is home. Call Shi Jing and have her come back for dinner tonight.”
Jiang Xu kept her word, immediately giving her wife a task right in front of her daughter. As long as she could be with Sister, any home was home.
Talking to her mother about buying clothes, she remembered the outfit that was accidentally shipped back home for Christmas. She subtly asked about it. Seeing Jiang Xu’s evasive eyes, it was definitely commandeered by her two mothers. They were all adults; Fu Shuyun didn’t care about their games.
“Mama~ How do you manage to keep Ma-mi so in love with you all the time?”
Fu Shuyun had always admired her two mothers’ enduring affection over two decades, remaining passionate and inventive even at their age. At the same time, she worried about whether she and Shi Jing could manage their relationship as well.
Before she had someone she liked, she couldn’t imagine spending her life with one person. Now that her heart belonged to someone, she started worrying about whether they could truly spend their lives together.
“I’ve always loved Linfeng too.”
“You two might still be in the honeymoon phase. When you pass three or four years and still cherish and enjoy your relationship just the same, you’ll naturally know how to maintain it. It’s okay if it’s not always so passionate; that’s life. Look at your Ma-mi. When she’s busy with work, I might not see her for days, but whenever she has time, she still takes us out to have fun.”
Jiang Xu felt that her daughter had matured a lot since she started dating. She never used to ask these questions. As a mother, she only wanted her daughter to be happy and content. She told her many stories about her and Fu Linfeng and even secretly imparted a set of “Alpha training” secrets.
“Never go easy on an Alpha when they do something foolish. No matter what they say, wrong is wrong.”
Fu Shuyun silently noted down what her mother had taught her, her mind already anticipating when Sister would give her a chance to practice. She couldn’t wait to tease Sister.
Jiang Xu, talking to her daughter as an Omega for the first time, was much shyer than usual, even shyer than when Fu Linfeng made her wear outrageous outfits for sex. She frantically reassured herself that this was for her daughter’s protection, not setting a bad example!
What she didn’t expect was that Shi Jing would actually give her the opportunity so soon.
The day before the break began, it was the Fu Corporation’s annual dinner. Shi Jing planned to drink, so she didn’t drive. Fu Shuyun volunteered to pick her up. Sitting in the car waiting, she witnessed the scene: Shi Jing being confessed to outside the hotel entrance.
After politely declining, Shi Jing turned to leave, but the rejected Omega suddenly hugged her. Even though Shi Jing reacted instantly and pushed her away, the Omega’s pheromones were so thick on her that it almost made Fu Shuyun sick.
Using pheromones to seduce an Alpha in this kind of setting—doesn’t she worry about being taken away? Unfortunately, Sister couldn’t smell it. I personally gave her the inhibitor shot at noon.
It wasn’t entirely Sister’s fault, but Fu Shuyun was still very upset. She decided she wouldn’t let this slide.
Shi Jing noticed her darling hadn’t said a word on the way home and guessed she had witnessed the incident. She pretended to nap in the passenger seat, her wine-addled mind desperately trying to think of an explanation that wouldn’t upset Fu Shuyun too much.
The moment they entered the house, Fu Shuyun silently went straight into the bathroom. Shi Jing rushed to wash off the scent on her own body. The inhibitor was slowly wearing off, and the Omega’s scent was getting stronger. It was understandable that Fu Shuyun was angry. Now, Shi Jing was also a little angry at herself for allowing the other person the chance to hug her.
Her mind cleared up after the shower. She changed clothes and saw Fu Shuyun sitting naked on the sofa.
“Shi Jing, come here.”
