A OO Love After Officially Announcing with the Best Actress - Chapter 14
The summer wind was slightly dry. Shen Feng, Producer Liu, and Lin Bingran sat at a roadside food stall, waiting to eat crawfish.
The crawfish had not been served yet, so they ordered two small side dishes first. Shen Feng and Producer Liu drank beer, while Lin Bingran had a cup of clear tea.
Producer Liu was a male beta. He picked up two peanuts with his chopsticks and tossed them toward his mouth, only for them to land directly on his nose. The peanuts fell to the ground.
Shen Feng and Lin Bingran burst out laughing.
“What are you laughing at! I’ll try again!” Producer Liu refused to accept defeat and tried again. This time, he successfully ate them, but the movement was neither cool nor good-looking.
Producer Liu asked, “How was that?”
Shen Feng deflected smoothly and turned to ask Lin Bingran, “What do you think?”
Lin Bingran lightly tossed the question back to Shen Feng. “The director should comment.”
Shen Feng laughed loudly. “Hahahahaha, of course it’s no match for Shen Kuo.”
A couple of days ago, they had filmed one of Shen Kuo’s scenes. Shen Kuo played the rough, savage man eating at the Chu family’s home. In front of him was two liang of baijiu and a plate of peanuts. With one flick of his chopsticks, he ate them in a way that was both roguish and handsome, stunning everyone on set.
Shen Feng sighed. “Shen Kuo really is handsome. He’s already an alpha in his thirties, but his condition hasn’t declined at all.”
Lin Bingran had gone to watch that scene. She had always been stingy with praise, so she only nodded and said, “Not bad.”
Producer Liu said, “That man is all rebellious bones. He acted very well.”
The crawfish was ready. It was brought over on an iron plate, piled so full it looked like a small volcano about to spill over.
The owner put down the iron plate, saw Lin Bingran, and smiled. “You liked it last time, right?”
Lin Bingran smiled. “It was good, so I brought friends to try it too.”
“Eh?” The owner glanced at Shen Feng and Producer Liu, then asked with a smile, “And the other one…”
Lin Bingran raised her chopsticks and waved her hand. The owner stopped asking and left after telling them to enjoy the food and drinks.
Shen Feng immediately asked, “When did you come here before?”
They were all sharp people. Producer Liu said, “And you didn’t come alone.”
Lin Bingran avoided the important part and said lightly, “I’m an A-list film queen. Can I go out alone?”
Returning to the previous topic, Producer Liu started praising Shen Kuo again. After Shen Kuo, he praised Wang Bingbing and Zhang Du. Finally, he praised Lin Bingran.
“Don’t say that about me,” Lin Bingran said. “You flatter me too much.”
Shen Feng smoked a cigarette and suddenly said, “Xiao Lin is pretty good too.”
Producer Liu said, “She’s still a little green.”
“Being green means she doesn’t have that many performance techniques yet.” As Shen Feng spoke, she suddenly laughed, feeling that this industry was truly strange. “People look down on those who didn’t graduate from acting schools, thinking they don’t understand acting and are too much trouble to train. But when someone has acted in too many productions, people think they’ve become too slick and fixed in their ways. Every expression and movement can easily become overdone, so they still look down on them.”
Lin Bingran said, “Are you talking about me?”
Shen Feng said seriously, “How could that be? You’re very good. Even as a seasoned actor, you still have that spark. You’re willing to enter the role. Very good.”
Lin Bingran neither agreed nor disagreed. She held up her tea and clinked glasses with Shen Feng.
Shen Feng said, “Lin One-Take, you need to guide Xiao Lin more. The later scenes won’t be easy to film.”
Lin Bingran had always had the nickname “Lin One-Take.” As famous as that nickname was her ability to empathize, which could even affect the actors performing opposite her and help them enter the role together.
An actor who had previously worked with Lin Bingran once said in an interview that after acting with Lin Bingran, it took a long time to come out of character.
Producer Liu thought of something and said, “I could clearly see Xiao Lin getting into character today. Her acting almost made me cry.”
Lin Bingran said, “You think everyone’s acting is good.”
Shen Feng agreed. “What was there to cry about?”
Producer Liu said, “Who told me to read the script?”
The topic was led back to the script again.
Lin Bingran wore disposable gloves. With one twist of her hands, she removed a crawfish head, then sucked out the tail meat with her mouth.
While Shen Feng and Producer Liu were talking, a fair pile of shells had already accumulated in front of her. She did not miss a beat in chatting either, but it did not delay her eating at all.
Shen Feng finally noticed. “Ancestor! Eat less!”
Lin Bingran said, “One occasional meal won’t make me fat.”
Shen Feng said speechlessly, “That’s exactly how people who gain weight comfort themselves.”
After eating and drinking their fill, Lin Bingran picked up the menu and said, “Pack up some grilled skewers.”
The owner was very quick. In less than twenty minutes, two disposable food boxes were handed to Lin Bingran.
Shen Feng: “…”
On the way back, the three of them called a hotel car. Lin Bingran sat in the front passenger seat, giving the back seats to the half-drunk alpha and beta.
There was still a while before they got back, so Lin Bingran naturally began eating the packed barbecue.
Shen Feng held her forehead. “My actress, can you eat a little less? What if you can’t fit into the qipao tomorrow?”
Lin Bingran bit into a squid roll. “I brought this for the female lead.”
“You brought it for Xiao Lin?” Shen Feng complained. “Then why are you eating it?”
Lin Bingran calmly replied, “What’s wrong with me taking a little payment for my trouble?”
Lin Ke chatted with Zhu Mo for a long time. Before going to sleep, she flipped through the script for a while before gradually feeling sleepy.
But just after she lay down, the door was knocked twice.
Lin Ke squirmed and turned over. She was too sleepy to move and hoped the person outside would be sensible and leave on their own.
In the end, the door was knocked twice again.
Lin Ke slid out of bed along the edge of the mattress and went to the entryway without even wearing slippers.
When she opened the door, Lin Bingran was standing there.
“Hi.”
Lin Ke said, “…Hi, Teacher Lin. Is something the matter?”
Lin Bingran smiled. “You’ve improved a lot in the role lately.”
Lin Ke froze. She was an anti-fan, and the idol herself had praised her?
Lin Ke became inexplicably alert. Her small movement was to lick her upper lip. “Thank you, Teacher Lin. It’s all because you taught me well.”
Lin Bingran nodded and said without avoiding it at all, “It is indeed because I taught you well. You should thank me.”
Thank her?
Lin Ke grew nervous. Considering Lin Bingran’s professionalism, the few insignificant meals and drinks she had given her really were nothing if they wanted to calculate it seriously.
“Here.” Lin Bingran handed out a plastic bag from behind her. “Take it.”
A little oil had gathered at the bottom of the plastic bag, pale and transparent, with a few bits of chili floating in it. Several skewers stuck out from the box. Lin Bingran carried the smoky scent of a food stall and barbecue stand all over her.
Lin Ke asked in disbelief, “You brought this for me?”
Lin Bingran smiled, handed the bag to Lin Ke, turned back with a little bye-bye gesture, opened her door, and returned to her room.
Lin Ke carried the light plastic bag back into her room. She did not need to look; the weight hanging from her hand was clearly wrong.
Lin Bingran must have secretly eaten it all and was looking for her to throw away the trash.
Lin Ke walked to the trash can, stepped on the pedal to open the lid, and opened the bag.
Rather unexpectedly, there was actually one grilled chicken wing tip skewer left.
The next day, the art department and production staff set up the scene.
Lin Ke and Lin Bingran listened to Shen Feng explain the scene.
Shen Feng said, “In a bit, you’ll secretly use Ji Fengling’s lipstick to touch up your mouth. When you hear the door, you turn around and stand up in a panic. After that, improvise a little first and find the feeling. Do one version based on your own understanding. If it doesn’t work, I’ll explain it to you again. It’s best if you act it yourself and enter the character, understand?”
Lin Ke nodded. Today, she had a kissing scene with Lin Bingran.
Shen Feng looked at Lin Bingran and said, “Keep the kiss pure. Don’t make it too hot.”
Lin Ke’s face immediately turned red.
Lin Bingran said, “You make it sound like I’m very good at kissing.”
Shen Feng shrugged. “Is there anything you’re not good at? Straight-alpha killer. Do you not know how many people want to film kissing scenes with you?”
Lin Bingran turned her head and accurately caught Lin Ke’s gaze as Lin Ke was definitely sizing her up.
Lin Ke trembled and quickly said, “Not me! I’m an omega!”
Lin Bingran smiled. “Why are you panicking? Did I say you?”
Lin Ke pressed her lips together and went aside to wait for the scene.
Behind her, Lin Bingran quietly complained to Shen Feng, “It’s my first time kissing an omega.”
Lu Tu was playing on her phone. When she saw Lin Ke walk over, she suddenly said, “You seem to be getting more and more into the role.”
Lin Ke said, “Hm?”
Lu Tu abruptly changed the topic and glared at her. “I’m saying… did you secretly eat barbecue last night?”
Lin Ke scratched her head. “It was just one chicken wing!”
Lu Tu said, “Like I’d believe your nonsense.”
Lin Ke muttered, “June snowstorm. I’m truly wronged.”
Lin Ke sat down on the folding stool. She took out the script but could not read it. She tapped her phone and found the interview she had not finished watching yesterday.
It was an actor who had acted with Lin Bingran before, and during the interview, they praised Lin Bingran highly.
The host asked, “Then how did you come out of character afterward?”
The actor’s eyes immediately reddened, and they choked up several times.
“Lin Ke!”
“What are you doing? Come over and run through the scene!”
“Oh, okay!” Lin Ke stood up, handed her phone to Lu Tu, and jogged toward the room where the set had been arranged.
