A OO Love After Officially Announcing with the Best Actress - Chapter 26
Lin Ke stood on the sofa with her hands on her hips. “What’s wrong? Can’t say anything now, huh? Feeling guilty, huh?”
She looked like a petty person intoxicated by sudden success, flaunting her power.
Lin Bingran rubbed at the goosebumps raised on her arms by the air conditioner and said in puzzlement, “How many jin of courage did you eat?”
Lin Ke froze.
Lin Bingran turned her head, narrowed her eyes slightly, and smiled faintly. “What, you want me to ask the director to change your call sheet?”
Lin Ke: “…”
Lin Bingran said, “Why? Because we slept together, and you want to be my lover?”
Lin Bingran leaned against the wall, arms crossed, looking at Lin Ke from a distance. Her words pressed closer step by step. “You said you didn’t care, but now you regret it? Should I change your call sheet and add scenes for you? Should I also give you a luxury endorsement, arrange a villa and a luxury car, introduce you to a few industry big shots so you can play female leads, and finally spend money to buy you an award?”
Lin Ke was stunned. Her foot slipped off the edge of the sofa, and the fierce questioning expression she had worn just now turned embarrassed, angry, and helpless.
“I didn’t!” Lin Ke argued. “I-I didn’t mean that.”
Lin Bingran said, “Weren’t you the one who said it would be best to forget it?”
Lin Ke turned her head away, stared at the floor, clicked her tongue, and bit her lower lip in grievance.
Seeing that she had bullied her until her eyes were red, Lin Bingran stopped in time. She pinched the web between her thumb and forefinger to hold back her laughter.
“That’s good.” Lin Bingran walked to the bedroom door. As she was about to close it, she turned back. “You questioned me so fiercely just now. You almost scared me.”
Lin Bingran closed the bedroom door. “It’s very late. Sleep early. Good night.”
Lin Ke: “…”
The situation had taken a sharp turn downward. While Lin Ke was still dazed and muddled, her phone rang.
Lu Tu: How was it? What did the film queen say?
Lin Ke gritted her teeth. She told me to sleep early.
Lu Tu: Aiyo~ I won’t disturb you two, but what did she say about the call sheet?
Lin Ke briefly recounted what had just happened.
Lu Tu: Damn… So she basically said you were daydreaming, right?
Lu Tu: Could it be that Film Queen Lin wants to freeload?!
Lin Ke: “…”
Lu Tu spoke in that green-tea tone: I don’t mean anything else. I just think it’s a little too much for Film Queen Lin to enjoy herself and then make you sleep in the living room, isn’t it?
Lin Ke held her phone and rolled over, falling off the sofa with a thud. There was carpet on the floor, so it did not hurt, but the earlier lingering scene instantly surged back into her mind.
Lin Bingran was lying in the middle of the bed, tightly covered by the quilt, breathing evenly and deeply. The floor-to-ceiling window was open, letting in a few wisps of night wind. The mattress dipped downward at one corner of the bed.
Lin Bingran’s long, even breathing stopped. She opened her eyes and saw a figure feeling around the corner of the bed and climbing up.
Under the moonlight, Lin Ke met Lin Bingran’s expressionless gaze.
There was a faint green-plum scent in the air. The omega was still in heat. Was this throwing herself into her arms?
Lin Bingran moved aside, rolled half a turn with the quilt wrapped around her, and gave up the other side of the bed.
Lin Ke had not expected Lin Bingran to wake up, much less take the initiative to make room for her.
What did that mean? Was she hinting at something yellow?
Lin Ke said, “I refuse to sleep on the sofa.”
Lin Bingran responded faintly, “Oh.”
Lin Ke lay down, straight and stiff as a door panel, not moving at all. Aside from the pajamas, her entire body was exposed to the air, giving her no sense of security whatsoever.
She turned her head and met Lin Bingran’s bright, watery eyes.
Lin Ke: “…”
Lin Bingran: “Pfft.”
Lin Ke moved toward the edge of the bed, looking as if she wished she could stay as far away from Lin Bingran as possible.
Lin Bingran parted her lips and said softly, “You’re lying on my hair.”
“Ah? Oh…” Lin Ke awkwardly propped herself up.
Lin Bingran gathered her hair away and wrapped herself tightly in the quilt.
The air was quiet for a few seconds. Their breathing rose and fell at the same rhythm.
Lin Ke suddenly said, “You also like using the air conditioner while covered with a quilt?”
“Mm,” Lin Bingran answered.
Lin Ke said, “I like that too.”
Lin Bingran understood and took the initiative to share a corner of the quilt with Lin Ke.
Lin Ke grabbed one corner, quickly wrapped herself in it, and rolled one and a half turns, covering herself.
Lin Bingran was suddenly pulled along by that force. When she came back to herself, she and Lin Ke were face-to-face, very close. Their noses touched, and their breaths were audible.
Lin Ke: “…”
Lin Bingran: “…”
“You, you, you…” Lin Ke’s breathing became chaotic.
Lin Bingran tucked the quilt under her chin. Her amber eyes were as clear as if they had been washed with water. She consciously completed Lin Ke’s sentence for her. “I’m actually sleeping naked.”
Lin Ke: “…”
The extra quilt piled between them was tugged up and spread open, the surplus bunching beneath Lin Ke. Half of Lin Bingran’s body lay slanted over Lin Ke’s shoulder, arm, and thigh.
The bare, warm, soft touch was vivid, along with the faint scent of green tea. Lin Ke stiffened, unable to even speak properly. “You… move yourself.”
Lin Bingran said, “There isn’t enough quilt.”
Rustling sounds came one after another. Lin Ke hurriedly pulled the quilt out from her other side and piled it all back over Lin Bingran. “I won’t use it anymore!”
Lin Ke turned onto her side, arm tucked beneath her head. She had no sleepiness at all. She did not even know what she was angry about, but she was just very angry.
There was no sound behind her for a long while. Lin Ke could not hold back and curiously turned to look.
Lin Bingran had buried herself entirely in the quilt. Only the top of her head could be vaguely seen.
Was she not afraid of suffocating?
Lin Ke complained inwardly, then turned back around. Her movements were deliberately light and slow as she quietly pressed Lin Bingran’s quilt down, revealing her face.
Lin Bingran was not asleep at all. She said very softly, “If you’re afraid of the dark, turn on a light.”
They were so close that every breath carried the scent of green tea.
Lin Ke pressed her lips into a straight line. “I don’t seem to be afraid anymore.”
Lin Bingran smiled silently. If there had been light, one would definitely have seen the dimple by her cheek.
“Are you laughing?” Lin Ke asked.
“Mm?” Lin Bingran’s voice became completely emotionless.
Lin Ke pursed her lips and turned her back to her. “I’m sleeping.”
“Can you fall asleep?” Lin Bingran asked.
“It’s the middle of the night. What else would I do if I don’t sleep?”
“What do you want to do?”
“There’s nothing to do.”
“With two people, anything can be done.”
They had shared the closest kind of contact. A few words, intentional or unintentional, were enough to spark a fire.
Lin Ke stopped speaking.
After a silence, Lin Bingran reminded her, “Want to watch TV?”
There was a very large LCD television in the bedroom. Lin Bingran found the remote and began selecting programs.
“What do you want to watch?” Lin Bingran asked.
Lin Ke propped the pillow upright and leaned against it. “Anything.”
Lin Bingran switched to a food program. The chef was teaching how to make braised pork, and a third-tier celebrity had been invited as a guest.
The corner of Lin Ke’s mouth twitched. She thought she might as well sleep.
Lin Ke curled her toes and slid down to lie flat. Her body warmed as Lin Bingran shared the extra quilt with her. Lin Bingran’s hand brushed over her arm, stirring up a current of electricity.
“You’re hinting at me, aren’t you?”
“Hinting at what?” Lin Bingran asked, lowering the TV volume.
Lin Ke did not want to continue a meaningless conversation. She always felt that all the rhythm was in Lin Bingran’s hands.
“You want to sleep with me,” Lin Ke said very directly. Lin Bingran did not answer, but her breathing was the first to go uneven.
“Mm.”
She actually said mm?! Lin Ke tightened her grip on the quilt. She absolutely would not compromise!
Lin Bingran tossed the blame to Lin Ke. “The moment you get emotional, you release pheromones everywhere.”
Lin Ke said, “…So do you.”
The TV cut to a commercial for a soy milk machine.
Lin Bingran said, “I’m only like this during my heat.”
Lin Ke said, “Who here isn’t in heat?”
“You’re like this even when we just kiss normally…”
“That’s because I’m young!”
“Are you saying I’m old?”
Lin Ke’s neck stiffened. She mumbled, “…It’s clearly true. Am I not allowed to say it?”
“Then shouldn’t you call me jiejie?” Lin Bingran teased.
Lin Ke was embarrassed. “I’ll call you auntie!”
Lin Bingran: “…”
Lin Ke quickly tried to make up for it. “…What I mean is, although… you’re very pretty. You don’t look your age at all. You look even younger than me!”
Lin Bingran’s gaze was faint. She tucked her head under the quilt, turned her back, and no longer paid attention to Lin Ke.
Pheromones could properly reflect an omega’s emotions.
The green-tea scent in the air faded. Lin Ke swallowed thirstily. “…Teacher Lin.”
Lin Ke shook Lin Bingran’s shoulder. Lin Bingran only wrapped herself even tighter.
“…”
“I’m sorry… Who told you to scold me like that just now…” Lin Ke said. “I didn’t mean it.”
Lin Ke thought for a moment and tried to tickle Lin Bingran through the quilt.
She pressed down on the quilt and poked at the side of Lin Bingran’s neck. Lin Bingran did not react at all and even coldly moved a little closer to the edge of the bed.
Lin Ke moved forward too, lightly scratching with her fingers, clumsily coaxing her.
“My fault.”
“Teacher Lin?”
Lin Bingran moved another inch away.
Lin Ke pressed her lips together. This time, she slipped her hand under the quilt and tickled Lin Bingran’s armpit.
Lin Bingran: “…”
“Are you still angry? Teacher Lin, smile for me. Hahaha.”
Haha. So awkward.
Lin Ke thought awkwardly and gave up, pulling her hand away.
Lin Bingran’s delayed stress response finally came. She instantly contracted her shoulders, neck, and arms, trapping Lin Ke’s fingertips.
“I smiled,” Lin Bingran said hoarsely, her breathing seemingly disrupted.
With her fingers caught, Lin Ke unconsciously lifted her chest a little.
The TV commercial ended, and the braised pork came out of the pot.
Sauce was poured over the deep-red meat, and fragrance seemed to overflow. The meat was fatty but not greasy. With one gentle press, the fat would melt into broth in the mouth, and the lean part would separate into fibers, the aroma spreading from the mouth into the lungs.
Their breathing, once rising and falling on the same line, lost its rhythm. It became disordered. Beside their ears was the other person’s heavy, hurried breathing.
Lin Bingran took a deep breath, tossed the remote onto the quilt, and said, “Move inward. I’m about to fall off.”
Lin Ke grabbed her waist and pulled Lin Bingran, quilt and all, in front of her.
Lin Ke’s heartbeat was as fast as a drum. “You’re not angry anymore?”
“Mm.”
Lin Ke said, “Then you should apologize to me too.”
Lin Bingran closed her eyes. When she opened them again, she blinked away the excess emotion inside. “Sorry.”
Lin Ke was satisfied. “I want to sleep now.”
Lin Bingran said, “Mm.”
“Close your eyes,” Lin Ke said.
Lin Bingran asked, “Why don’t you close yours?”
Lin Ke said, “We’ll close them together. I’ll count one, two, three.”
Lin Bingran’s voice was very soft. “Three.”
No one closed their eyes.
Lin Ke suddenly kissed her. Her heart felt so unbearable it was almost driving her crazy. She had wanted to kiss and hug Lin Bingran for a long time.
From the moment she entered this bedroom, her pheromones had been restless, wanting to get close to Lin Bingran. She wanted to kiss Lin Bingran, embrace her. Lying on this bedsheet, she could not control her body. Her reason screamed at her to leave, but her body honestly wanted to move closer.
The skin around Lin Ke’s eyes was hot and red. “The quilt…”
Lin Bingran looked into her eyes, touched her face, and kissed away her tears. “I’ll give you a little more of the quilt.”
“There are no extra sheets,” Lin Bingran said. “Don’t rub against it.”
Lin Ke’s face turned bright red. Tears gathered in her eyes as she panted helplessly and asked in shame, “Then what do I do?”
Lin Bingran lowered her breathing and kissed Lin Ke. After separating, her lips moved close to Lin Ke’s ear. “One for me, one for you.”
Lin Ke buried her face shamefully into the pillow towel. “It’s my first time, Lin Bingran… You really aren’t human…”
Lin Ke kicked the remote, and the TV changed from the kitchen helper program to a cartoon.
Two sheep giggled and chased each other across the grassland. The bright image suddenly made the details of the bedroom much clearer.
“You’ve never touched yourself?” Lin Bingran asked, her heart starting to beat uncontrollably.
Lin Ke said, “No. I haven’t with anyone else either…”
The TV screen changed, and its light made the bedroom flicker between bright and dark. Lin Bingran pressed the remote, and the image changed to an ambiguous neon-lit street. Lin Bingran pressed her legs together, blushing to the tips of her ears. “…I don’t know how.”
Lin Ke rubbed against her palm, her force increasing, and threatened with a tearful voice, “…Then we’ll just sleep.”
Lin Bingran suddenly felt moved. She reached out and turned on the wall lamp, the light shining on Lin Ke’s tear-streaked eyes.
Lin Ke said, “Turn it off…”
Lin Bingran turned off the TV.
Lin Ke bit her. Lin Bingran pressed the power button again, turning the TV back on and making the room a little brighter.
Lin Bingran said, “Let me look at you. You’re very sexy.”
Lin Ke looked at Lin Bingran almost in a daze, soft and trembling nonstop in Lin Bingran’s arms.
The TV switched to an online drama. The actor’s voice sounded very familiar. Lin Ke heard familiar lines and became distracted, glancing at it a couple more times.
“Focus.” Lin Bingran bit her ear. Pheromones filled the entire room. Lin Ke’s reaction excited her.
While Lin Ke was sinking into it, she could not help turning back to look at the TV.
“Are you done?” Lin Bingran began urging. “Can you finish before this episode ends?”
Lin Ke clenched her teeth. Her pores relaxed and trembled. Hearing Lin Bingran’s words, she looked toward the TV again and again with blurred eyes.
The TV was playing a costume xianxia drama. In the drama, Lin Ke played the third female lead. During a battle between gods and demons, Lin Ke flew down from a high place and fought the Demon Lord along the cliff.
Watching herself act was awkward and uncomfortable. Her acting when she had just debuted was simply thunder rolling from the heavens.
Lin Ke felt so ashamed that her breathing quickened. “Turn it off. The TV. Hurry.”
Lin Bingran looked at Lin Ke with a little obsession and said, “It’s almost over.”
The remote was kicked, and the progress bar popped up on the screen.
There were still three minutes left. Lin Ke’s character was struck by a palm and spat blood. Back then, her acting had been immature. She had only spat out half the blood pack and swallowed the other half, her expression looking like constipation. Lin Bingran very obviously laughed.
Lin Ke could only bite Lin Bingran’s nape to vent and suppress her surging tears.
The TV suddenly cut to the ending theme. Lin Bingran was shocked. “Seven minutes. So fast.”
Embarrassed, Lin Ke flipped Lin Bingran over. Before her breathing had even steadied, she pounced over to grab the remote.
“…It’s all your fault. I’m going to play one of your awful old dramas too!”
Even a film queen had black history. Lin Bingran raised her hand high, suddenly leaned in to kiss Lin Ke’s lips, and casually tossed the remote away. “Focus. The next episode started. Forty minutes.”
Lin Ke: “…”
…
The next day, the sky was bright.
Inside the quilt, the scent of green plum and green tea was very strong. Skin rubbing against the dry cotton quilt felt comfortable. Lin Bingran unconsciously hummed twice, like a big cat rolling around, and burrowed deeper into the quilt.
Lin Ke was woken by the humming. Her expression was blank as she looked at the sunlight outside the window. The room layout was strange yet familiar. Lin Ke closed her eyes again and reached out to hold Lin Bingran’s back.
“Hot…” Lin Bingran hummed twice.
Lin Ke kicked the quilt away, rubbed the hair off her face, and continued sleeping.
The two of them had slept until their heads were muddled, both forgetting the argument from last night that whoever took the initiative again was a puppy. Together, they pressed tightly against each other.
Their long limbs tangled together, each treating the other like a body pillow held in her arms.
Lin Ke said, “What time is it… We need to film…”
The embrace was too comfortable. Neither was willing to let go. Their bodies were numb from sleep and filled with laziness. It felt as if, after a couple of hums and rubbing against each other, they could sink back into sleep again.
Morning was the time when omegas were most relaxed each day. The room was filled with the flowing scent of pheromones, green plum and green tea, each stirring the other’s heart.
Their skin rubbed together, smooth and soft. In their haze, both of them restlessly touched each other. Just as sparks were about to fly again, the door was knocked forcefully.
“Ranran-jie—”
“Xiao Lin!”
Lu Tu and Guo Rongrong had already been guarding the doorway for half an hour.
“Yell louder,” Guo Rongrong said, stomping her foot.
Lu Tu said, “Why should I be the villain?”
Guo Rongrong said, “It’s already two o’clock! Ran-jie has a scene at four this afternoon!”
Lu Tu shrugged. “Ai, Xiao Lin is so pitiful. She’s resting today and tomorrow.”
Guo Rongrong said anxiously, “…Her phone is off too.”
Lu Tu sighed. “The spring night is bitterly short, and the sun has risen high. From now on, the king no longer attends morning court.”
Guo Rongrong frowned, holding up her watch to check the time. The locksmith was waiting downstairs and was an alpha. If Lin Bingran did not get up, Guo Rongrong did not dare call him up at all.
Lu Tu coughed twice and reminded her, “How about asking for leave for Film Queen Lin?”
Guo Rongrong glared at her.
A call came in on her phone.
Guo Rongrong said, “Hello, master.”
The person on the other end was full of vigor, roaring like thunder. “Are you opening the lock or not?! I’ve been waiting for you for an hour! The sun is blazing! It’s killing me! Lunatics! I’m not taking this job anymore!”
Lu Tu pricked up her ears.
Guo Rongrong said, “Master, no, I—”
Beep, beep, beep—
A busy tone came from the phone.
Lu Tu secretly laughed, patted Guo Rongrong’s shoulder, and comforted her. “Don’t worry, don’t worry.”
Guo Rongrong: “…”
Lin Ke softly reminded Lin Bingran, “It sounds like someone… is knocking…”
Lin Bingran’s face was flushed as she fully immersed herself in the kiss. “What time is it?”
Lin Ke grabbed her phone and looked. The phone was dead.
There was a clock hanging by the head of the bed.
The hour hand pointed at two, and the minute hand pointed at eleven.
Lin Ke’s eyelids were damp, red, and swollen. After crying for most of the night, her vision was blurry as she tried to distinguish it. “Eleven.”
Lin Bingran closed her eyes. “Mm, still early.”
The two kissed with infatuation, held each other, and fell asleep again.
Midway through, Lin Bingran woke up once and tiredly looked at the wall clock by the bed.
She hugged Lin Ke, turned over, and loosely pressed over her, feeling the touch of skin rubbing together.
Lin Ke asked, “What time is it…”
Lin Bingran said, “Twelve.”
Lin Ke turned over and sank back into sleep. “Oh…”
Close to three in the afternoon.
Guo Rongrong ran to set with a forehead full of sweat.
“Director Shen!”
Shen Feng wore sunglasses, her long hair tied into a ponytail. She looked sharp and energetic as she asked, “What’s wrong?”
Guo Rongrong’s expression was extremely unnatural. “Well, Ranran-jie isn’t feeling well today. She might…”
Shen Feng made a gesture and said generously, “I know. Is she still angry? Give her a day off. The weather is good today anyway, so I’ll film some empty shots. Let her rest well.”
Guo Rongrong’s palms sweated from guilt. “…Okay.”
The sun set in the west, its bright light turning orange-yellow.
Lin Bingran and Lin Ke woke up, leaning against each other, staring blankly at the floor-to-ceiling window.
“What time is it?”
“What time is it?”
The two asked at the same time, then stared blankly at each other.
