A OO Love After Officially Announcing with the Best Actress - Chapter 27
Lin Bingran threw a piece of bread to Lin Ke. The two of them sat facing each other at the glass counter in the dining area, eating dinner together.
“Have you found someone to open the door?” Lin Bingran asked Guo Rongrong on the other end of the phone.
Guo Rongrong said, “Not yet…”
Lin Ke tore open the bread wrapper.
Guo Rongrong continued, “We’ve found several locksmiths. After asking about the situation, they all said they can’t repair hotel door locks. The lock cylinder is blocked, and the door lock is rather special. If they handle it, they can only pry off the entire lock. But the hotel locks are all custom-made as a set, so if it’s pried off, they can’t install it back. It’s also difficult to operate and would make a lot of noise. The people downstairs would definitely find out.”
“Then what do we do?” Lin Ke could not help asking.
Guo Rongrong’s voice paused, then grew much quieter. “I asked the hotel about the model and type of the door lock. I’ll keep looking for other locksmiths. Jie, do you… do you two want something to eat?”
Lin Bingran casually picked up a bag of biscuits and slowly tore it open near the phone receiver.
With a rip, it sounded almost like she was showing off.
Lin Ke: “…”
Lin Ke thought, How childish.
Lin Bingran said smugly, “We’re not short of food.”
Guo Rongrong went silent for two seconds, then asked suspiciously, “What you’re eating… isn’t junk food, is it?”
Lin Bingran sighed. “I have no choice.”
Guo Rongrong: “…”
Lin Ke burst out laughing.
Lin Bingran raised her eyes, curled her hand into a fist, pressed it lightly against her lower lip, and coughed. She took her phone and left the dining table, walking toward the living room balcony. “What did Director Shen say? Will this delay work?”
Only after her voice could no longer be heard did Lin Ke lower her head and take a bite of bread. She shifted unnaturally on the high stool, then took out her phone to check her messages.
Because Lu Tu had indirectly caused the door to Room 601 to be locked, Guo Rongrong had dragged her along to search the streets for a locksmith. Lu Tu sent Lin Ke messages to complain, saying that ever since Lin Ke and the film queen had slept together, Guo Rongrong’s attitude toward her had changed. The number of times Guo Rongrong rolled her eyes at her had dropped by half.
Lin Ke smiled and exited the chat with Lu Tu, then found Shen Feng’s profile picture.
Lin Ke: Director, can I come film tomorrow?
Shen Feng did not reply. She was probably busy filming.
Zhu Mo: How have things been lately?
Lin Ke lifted the corner of her lips. Zhu Mo was the female lead she had worked with in her second drama, a sweet-looking omega who had become good friends with Lin Ke on set.
Lin Ke held her phone higher. Her desire to pour out everything surged when she met a close friend.
My Momo!
Zhu Mo: What’s wrong?
Lin Ke tapped rapidly, her ears growing redder and her face growing hotter.
Lin Bingran and I slept together.
Just those few words were like being roasted over a furnace. Embarrassed, Lin Ke deleted them one by one.
Zhu Mo: Is filming not going smoothly? Are you in a bad mood?
Was she in a bad mood? Lin Ke raised her hand to prop up her chin and touched her own raised cheekbones.
She was clearly smiling!
Lin Ke pressed her lips together and turned back, finding Lin Bingran on the balcony in silk pajamas.
Lin Bingran stood by the window. Beyond the balcony were firefly-like lights formed by the city’s streetlamps. Her hair was tied loosely into a low ponytail behind her head, her head slightly lowered, her expression calm.
Lin Bingran was probably talking about work. The moment she noticed Lin Ke’s gaze, she looked over at her.
Lin Ke immediately held up her phone as if nothing had happened, raising it above her shoulders, stretching both arms, and doing a stretch. Then she turned the high stool around and faced away from Lin Bingran again.
Lin Bingran: “?”
Lin Ke lightly pressed a hand to her chest and opened the chat box again to reply to Zhu Mo.
So-so. I don’t need to film these two days. At the end, she added two laughing-crying emojis to express helplessness.
Zhu Mo: Ah? How come? Did you offend the director?
Lin Ke typed gloomily: I offended the investor daddy.
Zhu Mo: The capital side?
Lin Ke placed her phone face-down on the table. Lin Bingran had returned to the table, and her call with Guo Rongrong was nearing its end.
Guo Rongrong said, “There’s fruit and low-sugar ice cream in the fridge. Jie, don’t eat too much! You can only eat one!”
Lin Bingran lazily agreed. After hanging up, she started drinking milk and eating bread.
Lin Ke tried to keep herself low-profile, but not speaking seemed like it would make the atmosphere awkward.
Lin Ke said, “…I.”
“Were you secretly looking at me?” Lin Bingran said.
Lin Ke denied it quickly. “No.”
Lin Bingran smiled, slid down from the high stool, and went to open the wine cabinet. She glanced back at Lin Ke and asked, “Want a little?”
Lin Ke shook her head. “Alcohol leads to chaos.”
Lin Bingran’s movement paused, and she pushed the red wine bottle back into the wall cabinet.
Lin Ke coughed and said seriously, “Teacher Lin, we can’t go on like this.”
With no wine to drink, Lin Bingran began brewing tea. “What?”
Lin Bingran’s movements while making tea were very beautiful, smooth and flowing. Her long lashes lowered slightly, giving her a hint of fairy-like grace.
Lin Ke finished the last bite of bread, crumpled the wrapper into a ball, and threw it into the trash. “Our relationship must be kept secret.”
After saying that, Lin Ke left the dining table and ran to curl up by the sofa.
Lin Bingran sipped tea from a cup, then brought a cup over and placed it in front of Lin Ke. “Drink?”
Lin Ke tried it. The tea Lin Bingran brewed was not bitter at all. It was fragrant, elegant, and had a very comfortable sweet aftertaste.
Lin Bingran asked, “Does it taste good?”
Lin Ke said, “It must be because I’ve eaten too much of it lately.”
Lin Bingran asked, “What?”
Lin Ke’s ears reddened slightly. “Green tea.”
Lin Bingran nearly choked. She coughed twice, laughed, then turned to look at the star-dotted night sky while sipping tea. “Where are you sleeping tonight?”
Lin Ke’s toes tightened around her slippers. What should have happened and what should not have happened had both already happened. There was really no need to be pretentious now.
If they slept in the same bed, some things would definitely happen naturally.
“Then… who’s going to be one?” Lin Ke asked, her face red as she stared at the teacup, not daring to move her eyes.
The corner of Lin Bingran’s mouth curved higher. “What is one? What does one mean?”
Lin Ke glared at her.
Lin Bingran then took off her slippers and lightly kicked Lin Ke’s calf. Rather than a kick, it was more like a brush.
Lin Ke withdrew her leg with a swoosh. The spot on her calf felt numb. “Hmph.”
In that case.
Lin Ke said, “Let’s sleep separately.”
Lin Bingran narrowed her eyes slightly. “Can you endure it?”
Lin Ke gritted her teeth. Her pheromones had not stabilized at all. “…I can endure it.”
Two omegas in heat began competing in willpower.
After a simple dinner, Lin Ke secretly carried two small pieces of clothing from the bathroom and slipped toward the balcony to hang them up.
Lin Bingran was on the sofa reading the script. When Lin Ke passed by, she obviously lightened her footsteps. After hanging up her underwear, Lin Ke quietly let out a breath of relief.
She paced back into the living room. Lin Bingran was lying crookedly on the sofa in silk pajamas, one small stretch of fragrant shoulder exposed, the loose neckline hanging over her collarbone.
Lin Ke could not help looking a couple more times. Then she saw Lin Bingran raise the script, hiding her face, her eyes slightly curved as she looked at Lin Ke with a sly gaze.
Lin Bingran’s gaze seemed charged with electricity. Everywhere it swept over stirred up little currents.
Lin Ke pressed her lips together and pretended to sit on the other side of the sofa to look at her phone.
Lin Bingran’s smile did not fade. Her gaze seemed to linger on Lin Ke, whether intentionally or not.
“Can I look at the script?” Lin Ke asked.
Lin Bingran handed it to her, then picked up a tablet from the coffee table and held it to read.
Lin Ke finally found something to do and quickly immersed herself in the script.
This was Scene Ninety-Three. Ji Fengling was the Li family’s not-yet-married daughter-in-law. She had been raised in the Li family since childhood and was cousins with Young Master Li.
Young Master Li worked at a newspaper. After the war began, he went with the army as a reporter. Once Young Master Li left, he never returned. After the Li family moved away from the capital, there was no news of him.
The Li family spent countless amounts of money, but still received no news about Young Master Li. Master Li ordered Ji Fengling to leave the Li family an heir.
At night, Granny Zhou tucked Ji Fengling in, then carried a kerosene lamp downstairs to Butler Fang’s room.
The door was suddenly pushed open. Granny Zhou slipped in sideways. Butler Fang closed the door forcefully, turned around, and asked excitedly, “How is it?”
Granny Zhou looked outside the door. “You speak first!”
Butler Fang paced nervously in the room and said, “Master is completely useless now. Having a son? I think half his body is already in the grave!”
Granny Zhou gave a sinister smile. “That old thing, he actually—”
“Shh!” Butler Fang signaled for her to be quiet. “How is Young Madam?”
Granny Zhou, though past her prime, still had lingering charm as she leaned into Butler Fang’s arms. “She cried half the night. She’s unwilling.”
Butler Fang pushed her away, his footsteps clicking as he paced around the room. “If Young Madam were carrying my seed…”
Granny Zhou cried out, “A starving camel is still bigger than a horse!”
Butler Fang said, “The Li family’s money—”
Granny Zhou said, “Will be ours!”
Butler Fang’s gaze wavered. “But… I…”
Granny Zhou knew his concerns. She climbed up Butler Fang’s shoulder and whispered into his ear, “In the village, there are strong men. I’ll find one.”
Granny Zhou smiled, made a water-sleeve-flinging gesture from Qin opera, and sang, “This scheme is truly clever; we shall swap a civet cat for the crown prince.”
“Hahahaha.”
Outside the room, the moon was bright and the stars were sparse. On the oiled-paper window, two blurry figures were reflected. Inside the window, the twisted, shapeless tone of Qin opera rang out. The figures projected on the paper window by the lamplight became ghost-like silhouettes. This shot implied the demons inside Butler Fang and Granny Zhou’s hearts.
Lin Ke unconsciously gritted her teeth and gripped the script tightly, crumpling the paper with a rustle.
Lin Bingran was also reading this scene. Hearing the sound, she moved her eyes away from the tablet and looked up, only to see Lin Ke’s reddened eyes.
What was she crying for?
I didn’t do anything to her.
Lin Bingran glanced at the tablet, then looked at Lin Ke and guessed, “Mm, don’t tell me you’re feeling sorry for me?”
Lin Ke blinked away the redness in her eyes. “I’m feeling sorry for my wife.”
Lin Bingran: “…”
Lin Ke flipped past that page of the script, hurriedly lowering her head to make up for it. “I mean, I’m feeling sorry for Chu Feng’s wife on Chu Feng’s behalf.”
Lin Bingran suppressed her smile. “Then I’ll thank you on Ji Fengling’s behalf.”
Lin Ke’s nose stung. “The late-night shoot tonight is this scene, right?”
Lin Bingran hummed. “What’s wrong?”
Lin Ke leaned against the sofa in disappointment. “I originally wanted to watch.”
Zhang Du and the actress playing Granny Zhou were both veteran actors. Their scene together would definitely be even more brilliant than expected.
Lin Bingran put down the tablet, went to open the fridge, and took out a box of ice cream. “Here.”
Lin Ke held it. The chill seeped into her palm, and she froze for a moment.
Lin Bingran raised an eyebrow and sat down beside her. “Don’t you like sweets?”
The scent of green tea descended over her.
Lin Ke was dazzled by the pheromones and grew a little nervous. “How did you know?”
Lin Bingran said, “Thank you for saving me before. You got kicked twice and still had to steal a piece of cake on the way out.”
Lin Ke was a little embarrassed. “You saw all that?”
Lin Bingran hummed.
Lin Ke opened the ice cream and scooped out a large spoonful of cream into her mouth. She asked softly, “Why did that person attack you?”
Lin Bingran’s gaze turned cold. She looked away, paused for a few seconds, then said, “A brainless fan. Wanted to take advantage of me.”
Lin Ke nodded. “What happened after you called the police?”
“First offense. They gave a verbal warning and let him go,” Lin Bingran said, her gaze drifting down to Lin Ke’s mouth.
There was cream on Lin Ke’s lips. She stuck out her tongue and scraped away that bit of white, saying indignantly, “If I’d known, I would’ve punched him a few times for you.”
Lin Bingran showed a little disappointment, let out an “ah,” and started zoning out with a flushed face.
Lin Ke’s ears were also red. “You’re not eating?”
Lin Bingran said, “I want to.”
Lin Ke’s eyes flickered. “Then why did you only take one?”
Lin Bingran hummed. “Guo Rongrong only allows me to eat one. I gave it to you.”
Lin Ke scooped some out and fed it to Lin Bingran’s mouth. Red lips and white teeth appeared. Lin Bingran’s lips were still red and slightly swollen, and the pink tip of her tongue flashed past.
Lin Bingran swallowed, moved closer to Lin Ke, and opened her mouth. “I want more.”
Ah… the pheromones were so strong…
Lin Ke was dizzy from the scent, her brain crashing as she began feeding Lin Bingran uncontrollably.
Lin Bingran ate nearly the whole box. Without finishing the entire box, she looked at Lin Ke as if she still wanted more.
Lin Ke said softly, “We did it until five last night. We agreed. Whoever does it again is a puppy.”
Lin Bingran pointed at the ice cream box. “There’s one last bite left.”
Lin Ke glanced at it and shouted, “How did you eat it all!”
Lin Bingran snatched the ice cream box away and lifted it high and far, her body leaning slightly back.
Lin Ke pounced forward to grab it, brushing against Lin Bingran’s chest.
Lin Bingran: “…”
Lin Ke: “…”
The instant their eyes met, their bodies felt as if they had been shocked by static electricity.
Lin Ke said, “You be one!”
Lin Bingran said, “You be one!”
They spoke in unison.
Then both fell silent.
“Either be a dog or be one.”
“Either be a dog or be one.”
Again, they said it at the same time. Lin Bingran and Lin Ke each occupied one side of the sofa, blushing and heart racing as they faced off.
Lin Ke accused fiercely, “My fingers nearly got sat broken by you. I can’t do it anymore.”
Lin Bingran held back a smile. “Don’t say you can’t.”
“I really can’t!” Lin Ke said loudly.
Lin Bingran said, “I can’t either.”
The two of them fell into a deadlock, sitting in place, both restlessly shifting their legs.
During an omega’s heat, the closer it got to the later stages, the higher the concentration of pheromones secreted by the gland. This was to increase compatibility with a mate, stimulate the other person’s excitement points, and prevent desire from decreasing during the omega’s heat.
They did not even need to kiss. Just sitting together and smelling each other was enough to stir desire.
Lin Bingran said, “You’re not wearing underwear, are you?”
Lin Ke grabbed a throw pillow and covered her lower body. “You!”
Lin Bingran’s nose was red. “And you’re wearing my pajamas… With the rain that heavy and your pheromones not under control, maybe they’re already soaked through…”
Lin Ke: “…”
Lin Ke buried her face into the throw pillow. “You’re talking about yourself, aren’t you?”
The air was scorching. The only thing that could cool the heat was the ice cream in her hand.
“Xiao Feng,” Lin Bingran suddenly said.
Lin Ke raised her head blankly.
Lin Bingran scooped away the last bit of ice cream, held it in her mouth, leaned close, and kissed Lin Ke.
The ice cream was crushed between them, a little slipping from the corner of their mouths and teeth.
After the heated kiss, Lin Ke’s eyes were full of tears. She clutched Lin Bingran’s front, gripping hard. A teardrop slid down her cheek as she whimpered, hanging precariously from her chin. Excited, she said, “You be one! If you don’t, you’re a dog!”
Lin Bingran hugged her, panting. Her cheeks were equally pink, her breathing quick. “I’m kissing Chu Feng on Ji Fengling’s behalf.”
Lin Bingran kissed Lin Ke’s cheek, her tone clearly rising. “Xiao Feng.”
Lin Ke was stunned.
Damn!
She could do that too?
The night shoot finished close to ten. Today’s filming had gone smoothly, and the crew wrapped early. Shen Feng took the crew car back to the hotel before eleven.
The car drove through the hotel’s front entrance into the parking lot. Shen Feng got out and stretched her limbs.
The assistant director got out from the other side, glowing with excitement. “Director Shen, tonight’s scene was wonderful. Zhang Du and Mei-jie acted so well. Each take was better than the last. In my opinion, we should have kept one more take. Maybe it would’ve been even more brilliant.”
Shen Feng stared at a certain hotel window, gave an “eh,” and said, “Why are the lights off in 602?”
The assistant director looked up. “602?”
Shen Feng said, “Xiao Lin lives in 602. That girl. Today I told her to come to set and follow along to learn, but she didn’t show up all day.”
The assistant director thought of Lin Bingran and said, “Her status isn’t big, but her temper sure is.”
Usually at this hour, Room 602 was brightly lit.
Shen Feng handed the assistant director a cigarette and said seriously, “Tomorrow, have an assistant go call her. Moving her call sheet was punishment, not giving her a vacation.”
The assistant director said, “Understood.”
“If they can’t call her, I’ll go personally.”
“Okay.”
The door to Room 601 was tightly shut. The open doors and windows were filled with an absurdly rich scent of pheromones.
By the window, the night wind paused, whimpering and howling like suppressed, low, breathy sobs.
“Ah—” A muffled groan broke the charming atmosphere. “Stop, stop, stop!”
Lin Bingran frowned and propped herself up. After being interrupted, her face was flushed and hazy as she held Lin Ke. “What’s wrong?”
Lin Ke was crying terribly, almost to the point of wailing loudly. In panic, she said, “Two of my fingers can’t move anymore!”
Lin Bingran was startled. “Are they broken?”
Lin Ke held her and cried for two minutes, becoming a tearful beauty. “I think they cramped.”
Lin Bingran breathed a sigh of relief and touched Lin Ke’s sensitive earlobe. “Have they stopped cramping?”
Lin Ke said, “…You #@%##, mmph.”
A mouthful of curses was blocked.
Lin Bingran said, “Be good. Switch hands. I’ll massage it for you.”
“…You still haven’t had enough?”
“Not enough.”
