A Supernatural Live Stream: The Real Young Master is Trending Again - Chapter 9
Si Ye lowered his gaze, rubbing the top of Gu Mohan’s head, and soothed him in a warm voice: “Be good. Don’t make me worry.”
Hearing this, Gu Mohan gritted his teeth for a long while before gradually calming down. He closed his eyes, struggling to suppress the violent aura within his body. Si Ye waited for him in silence.
“Brother’s current body is very fragile. He just recovered from an illness and needs to eat now.”
A cold tone drifted over.
Rocheville raised his eyes and said softly, “Whatever business there is, let Brother finish his meal before talking.”
Si Ye blinked, about to say something.
Gu Mohan snapped his eyes open. By now, he was mostly calm. Hearing this, he didn’t even have time to ask for details.
“I’ll take Father God to eat! I have a restaurant under my name right downstairs from the office!” Gu Mohan reached out to pull Si Ye as he spoke.
Rocheville was a step faster, pulling Si Ye behind his own back. Gu Mohan looked at him, puzzled. Rocheville’s expression remained composed, as if he had done nothing at all.
Si Ye, however, saw through the antics, and the corner of his mouth twitched involuntarily.
Turning to Gu Mohan, he reminded him: “Xiao Han, change how you address me in public. And… didn’t I tell you all before? Don’t always call me that.”
Si Ye pursed his lips slightly, looking down as he twisted the ring on his ring finger.
Gu Mohan froze for a second but quickly reacted: “In my eyes, no one is more worthy of that title than you.”
Si Ye opened his mouth to speak, but Gu Mohan continued: “Mhm! Then can I call you ‘Brother’ in public?”
“Brother!”
Gu Mohan’s eyes lit up, waiting expectantly for Si Ye’s response.
Si Ye was silent for a few seconds before giving a soft “Mm.” His gaze lingered on Gu Mohan for a moment. The man had a tall, upright posture, sharp eyebrows, and handsome features; he clearly looked to be in his twenties, yet with his inexplicably serious aura and formal suit, he gave off the vibe of someone in his thirties.
He then shifted his gaze to Rocheville’s face. The horns were hidden, and his cold, fair skin paired with features that could only be described as magnificent. Si Ye glanced up at the man’s height—which still looked to be over 190cm even after being altered—and the natural air of arrogance and detachment he exuded.
Thinking about the titles these two had for him, the age he was when his body died, and the age he was frozen at upon his return…
Si Ye: “…”
Rocheville, oblivious to this, naturally took Si Ye’s hand and led him toward the door. Gu Mohan didn’t care about anything else and followed closely behind them.
As the three walked out of the company’s main entrance together, the employees on the first floor stopped their surreptitious peeking. Like sunflowers, they all turned their heads in unison to stare.
A woman who had just left her workstation rushed to the front desk to start gossiping.
“Who is President Gu’s brother holding hands with?”
“Probably his brother’s partner. Didn’t you see the way President Gu was smiling? Must be a sister-in-law.”
“Bull! I saw his face! It’s a man!”
“So what if it’s a man?”
On the other side, a woman who was about to head upstairs froze in place for a long time. Staring through the glass until the three figures disappeared, she murmured: “Si Ye?”
Sunlight spilled through the glass onto the dining table. The aroma of food wafted through the air, accompanied by the melodious sound of a piano. Gu Mohan sat opposite the two, staring at Si Ye without blinking.
Sensing his gaze, Si Ye glanced at the food on Gu Mohan’s plate, then looked up at the still-dazed man.
“Why aren’t you eating?”
Their eyes met, and Gu Mohan snapped out of it, waving his hands frantically: “I don’t need to eat!”
Hearing this, Si Ye let out a light laugh: “When you were little, you used to wait eagerly every day for us to bring back delicious treats. Now that you’ve grown up, I suppose you’ve grown tired of it.”
Glancing at the untouched food on the other’s plate, Si Ye teased: “Back then, you wanted us to feed you everything. Do you want me to feed you now, too?”
Rocheville’s movements paused. He shot a quick side-eye at the person beside him, but quickly looked away when he realized he might be caught.
Gu Mohan looked a bit lost. As they spoke, Si Ye retracted his gaze. He popped the last piece of broccoli into his mouth and looked at the still-dazed Gu Mohan.
He coaxed him helplessly: “Xiao Han, eat properly. Don’t waste food.”
This “elder of the family” remark snapped the man back to reality. Looking at Si Ye again, Gu Mohan seemed to wake from a dream and lowered his head to quickly shovel the food on his plate.
“Eat slowly. I wasn’t scolding you. Don’t choke.” Si Ye was slightly stunned and instinctively tried to stop him.
However, with lightning speed, Gu Mohan had already finished everything on his plate. He looked up, his eyes blinking at the person before him—like a well-behaved cub, he tilted his head proudly, waiting for the elder’s praise.
Amused by the reaction, a hint of a smile touched Si Ye’s eyes. He couldn’t help but grin, saying: “Good boy.”
Gu Mohan’s eyes curved in a smile, and only then did he realize he should hurriedly grab a tissue to wipe his mouth.
With a soft click, Si Ye turned his head and saw Rocheville putting down his chopsticks, pretending nothing was wrong.
Gu Mohan suddenly spoke: “Fa— Brother, how do you want to handle the Shi family? Even if you can’t touch them physically right now, you could tell Ji Mengxue your identity. I can help you.”
Rocheville also shifted his gaze to Si Ye.
Si Ye dropped a neutral reply: “I won’t actively contact them for now. There are other urgent matters.”
“But if she knew the truth, Ji Mengxue shouldn’t cause you too much trouble. Wouldn’t it be more convenient if Ji Mengxue and Shi Hai were at each other’s throats…?” Gu Mohan looked eager to try.
Si Ye let out a cold laugh.
Not understanding why his brother was laughing, a flash of confusion crossed Gu Mohan’s eyes, and he looked like a curious child. Si Ye stroked Si Qiuqiu, who had appeared out of nowhere.
“Would Ji Mengxue feel guilt toward me?” He smiled, his eyes curving, though his tone was tinged with mockery.
“Ji Mengxue isn’t that kind of person. If she knew the truth, even if I am her child, she wouldn’t let me go—not after the things I’ve done. Letting her know early would only make things chaotic sooner. I’ve just returned and haven’t fully understood many things yet. There’s no rush.”
The unbreakable blood ties, the tangled debts and sins among that group—he didn’t want to get involved yet. Not even mentioning the “thing” on Shi Jingning—if his own identity were revealed to Ji Mengxue early and she went insane…
Given that woman’s personality, it might be better if she didn’t know. If she did, she wouldn’t show him any mercy; instead, she would bite down and never let go. After living with her for those years, he knew her character too well. He had seen it from Shi Nian, who was nearly crippled by her. What she wanted was never “family,” but obedient objects. Once something escaped her control or failed to meet her expectations, the brutality beneath her elegant mask would consume everything.
Then there was that fellow Shi Hai. He couldn’t let him start a feud with the Ji family too early. His motive for swapping Si Ye and Shi Jingning was definitely not as simple as getting revenge on Ji Mengxue. Even when he lived in that house, Si Ye had never seen through that man.
What exactly was he trying to do?
And Shi Jingning… why did he have Greed on him…?
Feeling a headache coming on, Si Ye rubbed the kitten’s fluffy head again. He thought to himself that those matters were too troublesome to handle, and the information he needed to find hadn’t been found yet. It was better not to clash with them actively—at the very least, he needed to recover enough strength first.
The brother who had shown him kindness in that house, Shi Nian.
The high-and-mighty Shi Hai who tried to toy with everyone.
His biological mother, Ji Mengxue, with her dirty methods.
And…
“Brother.”
Si Ye looked up, slightly dazed. Gu Mohan was looking at him from across the table with an indignant expression.
“That Shi Jingning… he has a blood relationship with you too, so how…”
“He has no blood relationship with me,” Si Ye interrupted Gu Mohan’s words calmly. “He is not my foster mother’s child, nor is he a child of the Shi family.”
Gu Mohan’s pupils constricted, and he let out a bewildered, “Huh?”
