A Yandere Omega Abandoned Me After Getting Pregnant - Chapter 11
“What? Do you have a question?”
Wei Xuejin might not be able to feel emotions, but she was an expert at reading people. Gu Yun had worked under her for a long time; Wei Xuejin could more or less guess what she was thinking just by looking at her face.
“President Wei, that Alpha lady who just left… who was she?” This was Gu Yun’s first time seeing Ye Xingran, and she had no idea where she came from. If she hadn’t seen Wei Xuejin trust her and act so intimately with her, she would have had the girl detained long ago.
“You don’t recognize her?” Wei Xuejin asked, somewhat surprised.
“…” Gu Yun realized there might be a major oversight. She immediately went to check the list of Alphas scheduled for today’s interview.
Five minutes later, she returned to find Wei Xuejin holding a pen… drawing. It was a truly rare sight. However, Gu Yun didn’t comment on it; she reported her findings first.
“President Wei… that pink-haired Alpha lady… she really was here for the artist audition. She has no connection to Madam Mingmei’s side; in fact, she was quite innocently caught up in the incident.”
“Her name is Ye Xingran, twenty years old. She’s a student at the University of International Business and Economics, studying minor languages. She is the youngest daughter of the Ye family from the north of the city, though her family doesn’t seem to value her much. The specific reason is unclear.”
“And she seems to have some history with the Young Miss… but it’s hard to say. I’ll need to investigate further.”
Gu Yun dutifully relayed everything she found. The “Young Miss” she mentioned was the female lead of the book, Wei Yunzhu.
Wei Xuejin’s pen paused. She didn’t dwell on the friction between Ye Xingran and Wei Yunzhu, but instead asked a completely unrelated question: “Did we find the Alpha who actually tried to drug me?”
“Yes,” Gu Yun replied instantly.
“Can the antidote be found?” Wei Xuejin looked up.
“The drug was found on the suspect and has been sent for testing. Creating an antidote shouldn’t be a problem,” Gu Yun said truthfully.
The plan had actually gone smoothly. When Wei Xuejin realized she had been drugged at the bidding meeting a few days ago, she locked down the information immediately. However, she leaked just enough to let Wei Mingmei think she was in full control—specifically, letting her know that Wei Xuejin was looking for an Alpha to “mark” her to neutralize the poison, using the recruitment fair as a cover.
Wei Mingmei took the bait and sent someone in. Wei Xuejin used the opportunity to identify the culprit, catch them, and secure the chemical components needed for a cure.
In fact, everything was going perfectly. Gu Yun had followed orders to split up and ensure no one escaped. The actual person sent by Wei Mingmei lacked composure; under Gu Yun’s pressure, he panicked, tried to run, and was caught immediately.
Gu Yun then sent out fake news to let Wei Mingmei believe her Alpha had successfully entered the room. This lured Mingmei into showing up and incriminating herself. When the time came to settle accounts, the evidence would be ironclad.
That was why there were no guards outside when Ye Xingran arrived. Wei Xuejin had orchestrated everything—except for the arrival of Ye Xingran.
The girl’s pheromones were so unique that Wei Xuejin had mistaken her for the culprit. Only after investigating did she realize she had caught the wrong person.
Wei Xuejin felt something was off. She thought for a moment and asked, “What did the pheromones of the Alpha you caught smell like?”
“I’ll verify that immediately,” Gu Yun said, knowing exactly what her boss was thinking.
“Good. Do it quickly.” Wei Xuejin let the matter rest for now and pushed the drawing she had just finished toward Gu Yun. “Have you seen this before?”
Gu Yun looked down and saw a chibi-style black-and-white fluffy creature on the paper. It looked adorable and bashful, its face flushed, making one want to reach out and squeeze it.
“No,” Gu Yun said honestly. “But it’s very cute.”
“Look into it. See if it’s a specific animal or a cartoon character.” Wei Xuejin had expected this answer. Now, all she could do was search for the origin of the creature standing on Ye Xingran’s shoulder.
“Understood.” Gu Yun felt it was strange but didn’t speak up. Seeing that Wei Xuejin had no further orders, she prepared to leave, taking the pink snake and the tabby cat with her.
Before leaving, she remembered one more thing: “President Wei, Vice President Shen just returned from her trip. She’s looking at today’s audition submissions. She seems to have taken a liking to one particular artist and asked if you’re available to discuss it.”
“Send her in.”
Wei Xuejin’s voice was calm, but inside, she felt a hollow stillness return. Once Ye Xingran left, the emotional ripples vanished, and she felt like a refined puppet once again. She was used to it—she had lived this way for years—but she found herself absentmindedly rubbing her temples. The pink-green silk scarf on the table still carried a hint of the little Alpha’s pheromones.
Obsessed… A word so foreign to her vocabulary flickered in her mind, leaving her slightly dazed.
“Jin, what’s got you so deep in thought? You weren’t actually charmed by that ‘little Alpha’ Gu Yun mentioned, were you?”
The door opened, and Shen Qianyi, the other partner and VP of the new company, walked in. She sat down, raising an eyebrow with interest.
“She is indeed special,” Wei Xuejin evaluated objectively.
“Oh? So special that she bit your lower lip?” Shen Qianyi was also an Omega. As a close friend, she didn’t mince words.
“…Assistant Gu said you liked an artist’s work. Weren’t you here to discuss that?”
Wei Xuejin hadn’t been paying much attention to her lip, but after the reminder, she realized the little Alpha had bitten her twice in the exact same spot. It stung slightly, but it was no big deal.
While Wei Xuejin was an Omega by biology and scent, she was nothing like one in any other regard—especially when it came to emotional perception or pain tolerance. Still, her intuition told her she didn’t want to discuss Ye Xingran with Shen Qianyi, so she pivoted the conversation.
“Tch, look at you avoiding the subject.”
Shen Qianyi was curious, but she didn’t push. She just felt Wei Xuejin was… different from her usual self. She placed a painting in front of her. “This is the one. It fits the requirements perfectly; this is the style I want. The artist uses the pseudonym ‘Yao Guang’ (Alkaid). I checked; it’s the name of a star. The artist’s real name probably has the word ‘Star’ (Xing) in it.”
“Ye Xingran is likely the artist you’re looking for,” Wei Xuejin said.
“Wait, is she your little Alpha?” Shen Qianyi asked, having heard the rumors from Gu Yun.
“She is not mine… yet.”
“Fine.” Shen Qianyi laughed, glad to see the “Untouchable Flower” finally showing some human traits. She pulled out another piece of work. “Want an excuse to meet her?”
Wei Xuejin looked. It was a fresh oil painting, also signed Yao Guang. Her intuition told her this was likely an assignment Ye Xingran had left behind.
“Where did you get this?”
“She left it behind. You should return it to her.”
Shen Qianyi pushed the painting over with a suggestive smile. Wei Xuejin understood the look but didn’t react, instead carefully putting the painting away to ensure it wouldn’t be damaged.
Once the painting was safe, Wei Xuejin showed Shen Qianyi her own drawing. “Do you recognize this animal?”
It was the black-and-white creature from Ye Xingran’s shoulder.
“Is it a character design for our movie? It’s pretty cute. If we make merch, it’ll sell well.”
“…No.”
Seeing that even Shen Qianyi didn’t know, Wei Xuejin put the drawing away to wait for Gu Yun’s report. This little Alpha… was truly special. So special that she found herself looking forward to seeing her again.
However, she had accidentally made the girl angry. The way she had stomped off in a huff bothered her.
Knowing Shen Qianyi had plenty of ideas, Wei Xuejin asked: “I made the little Alpha angry. Do you know how I can coax her?”
Shen Qianyi stared at her with a strange look, her eyes lingering on the fresh bite on her lip. She couldn’t believe the notoriously autocratic Wei Xuejin was asking for advice on “coaxing” someone.
After a pause, she smiled. “Coaxing an Alpha is simple. Just give yourself to her as a gift.”
“…Is it that simple?”
“Yes. Why not try it?”
If Gu Yun had been there, she would have screamed at Shen Qianyi for being a terrible friend. Selling her boss out in two sentences!
Ye Xingran finally made it out of the hotel. Once outside, she pulled out her phone to return the call she had been dreading.
The caller was the original body’s older brother, Ye Siyan—a tyrannical and petty Alpha. In the original memories, this brother was always cold, calling her a useless waste who did nothing but spend the family’s money. He had left her with a deep sense of shadow.
Because of this, the original Ye Xingran lacked confidence and was quite introverted. She had only tried to befriend the female lead, Wei Yunzhu, because the girl had helped her once. However, her “befriending” methods were so bizarre they offended the girl, and eventually, the plot forced her into the role of a villain fighting for the female lead against the male lead, ending in her death.
A truly tragic fate.
Now that the brother was calling, she knew it wouldn’t be anything good. He was likely going to force her into something she didn’t want to do. Ye Xingran took a breath. Since her monthly allowance came from the Ye family, she had to play along for now.
Sure enough, as soon as she picked up, an impatient voice barked: “Ye Xingran, who gave you the guts to ignore my calls?”
“…Speak up or shut up. If you’ve got nothing to say, I’m hanging up,” Ye Xingran snapped back, having no patience for his abuse.
“You’ve got some nerve—”
Beep. Beep. Beep.
Ye Xingran hung up. She wasn’t going to take it. The original might have explained herself meekly, but not her. What had this family ever done for her besides providing money? They treated her like a servant to be summoned and dismissed. Even after she presented as an Alpha, they didn’t value her; if anything, their attitude got worse.
The original lived alone, refusing to stay in the dorms because she was too awkward to make friends. She used the family’s money because she felt she might as well; she didn’t understand why her family, who had been caring when she was a child, had suddenly turned their backs on her.
She was an Alpha with a decent rank—she could have been an asset to the family. Yet the Ye family did the opposite, ignoring her existence except for a monthly check. By the time she was twenty, the neglect had only worsened. The “villainous madness” of the original character… it wasn’t hard to see where it came from.
Now, Ye Xingran had to clean up the mess.
Vrrr—
The phone rang again. She picked up without looking, her tone sharp: “Back for seconds?”
The person on the other end: “…”
[Uh, Host, the person calling this time isn’t your brother… it’s the female lead.]
Ye Xingran: @~~@ ????
