Accidentally Picked Up a Rich and Amnesiac Alpha (GL) - Chapter 51
In a villa in B City, inside a spacious large bed, Wan Lihong lay in a man’s arms, her expression satisfied and languid.
The man, with a broad, muscular chest and handsome looks, was not the young man Wan Lihong was dancing with the other day, but the Wen family’s adopted son, Yang Yifan. Yang Yifan hugged Wan Lihong tightly, leaned down to kiss her lips, then threw back the covers and got out of bed.
As he slowly put on his clothes, he said, “You know, I went to the Wen Family Garden again two days ago. I discovered something strange.”
Wan Lihong reached for the cigarette case on the bedside table, pulled out a cigarette, and held it between her lips, reaching for her lighter.
Clack. A flame flared up, held attentively and promptly in front of Wan Lihong.
Wan Lihong took a long drag, slowly exhaling a smoke ring, and spoke lazily. “What is it?”
Yang Yifan put away the lighter and continued dressing. “I noticed Housekeeper Xiong and the others packing up freshly picked vegetables from the garden to mail out. I thought it was strange. Wen Shuyan has always cherished those vegetables, and even when she’s away, Jing Michu wouldn’t dispose of them casually.”
Wan Lihong: “Wen Shuyan must have instructed Housekeeper Xiong to do it. She’s probably sending some to good friends or old acquaintances. It’s nothing unusual.”
Yang Yifan: “I thought so too at first, but I kept an eye on it. I waited until the courier arrived. When Housekeeper Xiong wasn’t around, I offered the courier a beer and chatted casually. The person told me everything: they ship vegetables every three days, and they’re always sent to the same address: Venice Garden No. 9 in H City.”
“Venice Garden No. 9 in H City? Did you check who the owner of that property is?”
Yang Yifan smiled faintly. “I did. It’s registered under Wen Shuyan’s name.”
Wan Lihong: “The fox always shows its tail in the end. We previously thought Wen Shuyan went straight overseas after she disappeared and hired so many people to investigate abroad. I didn’t expect her to be hiding domestically.”
At this, Wan Lihong seemed to remember something. “Have you still not found Gong Qiang?”
Yang Yifan: “We found him, but he slipped away again. That kid is clever; he refused even the second payment.”
Wan Lihong: “Keep an eye on him. He absolutely cannot be allowed to live, and Jing Michu and the others must not find him first.”
Yang Yifan: “I understand. The Xie family is also helping with this matter.”
Wan Lihong raised an eyebrow. “I don’t quite understand Xie Jun. He seems to injure the enemy by a thousand but harms himself by eight hundred.”
“He’s a lunatic. Xie Jun is famous for being ruthless and cold-blooded. It’s said those who cross him end up miserable. However, as long as we benefit, losing half of the Wen family’s assets is nothing.”
Wan Lihong smiled coldly and self-satisfactorily. “It’s fortunate my husband died early, my eldest brother and sister-in-law died early, and my sister-in-law also passed away quickly. This is truly heaven helping my Huiyu. Although that brat doesn’t appreciate it!”
A cold smirk flashed in Yang Yifan’s eyes. He complimented her further. “There’s nothing like a mother’s love. Mothers do everything for their daughters’ sake.”
Wan Lihong sighed. “What can I do? She’s my only child. No matter how much she frustrates me, she’s still mine.”
The air was crisp and refreshing. The intense heat finally began to fade.
Yan Qingqi returned from her early morning grocery run. Her vegetables were shipped from her S City home, so she only needed to buy meat, seafood, and a few secondary ingredients.
She parked the car in front of No. 9. As she got out to retrieve groceries from the trunk, a car drove down the street. Gong Yue immediately reacted, urgently pressing Yan Qingqi back into the seat, firmly closing the car door, and staring unblinkingly at the vehicle. She called her team into her headset, “All units, pay attention! Be ready to intercept!”
The car was only passing by and soon drove off.
Gong Yue waited until the car vanished before releasing her grip on Yan Qingqi. “Alright, safe now.”
Yan Qingqi sat up from the back seat, her hair disheveled. “Gong Yue, isn’t that a bit extreme?”
Gong Yue’s face was serious. “Miss Yan, it’s better to be cautious for your safety. For the past few days, I’ve noticed a car parked diagonally across from No. 9 for a long time. No one gets out or gets in, and then it drives off, circling back behind No. 9. It’s been happening for three consecutive days. The license plate is unfamiliar; we haven’t seen it before.”
“What do I need to do?”
“Reduce going out. Also, from now on, I will receive all deliveries for you. You must not show your face, especially not at the door. At night, always draw the curtains in your room, and do not stand near the window.”
Yan Qingqi listened to her solemn warning and nodded. Then, she suddenly said, “I want to learn some self-defense techniques from you. Can you teach me?”
Gong Yue was surprised. “You want to learn that, Miss Yan?”
Yan Qingqi: “If I run into danger, I need to be able to protect myself.”
From that day on, Yan Qingqi trained with Gong Yue.
“If the opponent opens fire, remember to find cover immediately. Safe retreat is the first priority. If the opponent is armed and rushes you with a dagger, your best option is to run. If they catch up, you need to counter like this…”
Gong Yue demonstrated dodging, striking, and disarming.
A few days later, after repeated training, Yan Qingqi was performing quite well. When Gong Yue used an eggplant as a prop, lunging at her, Yan Qingqi could already dodge agilely, strike back, and attempt to knock the “dagger” away, though she still couldn’t seize the eggplant.
“Excellent! Strike faster, and hit harder!”
In S City, Yang Yifan received a call. He glanced at the caller ID, walked to his office door, quickly looked left and right to ensure no one was nearby, closed the door, and answered.
“Mr. Yang, the person I hired has confirmed the identity. The person living at Venice No. 9 is the one in the photo you gave me.”
A cruel smile crept onto Yang Yifan’s lips. “I knew it was her. When are you planning to move?”
“The target is very cautious and is protected by bodyguards 24/7. Security is tight. It might be difficult.”
Yang Yifan frowned. “I don’t want to hear excuses. I can double the money. Tell them to take her out in H City as soon as possible. Otherwise, if we miss this chance, there won’t be another.”
Wen Shuyan has always been a recluse, and the security at the Wen Family Garden is impenetrable. With her currently in H City, this was the best possible opportunity.
Wen Shuman has been missing for three years. If Wen Shuyan were also eliminated, the person most qualified to inherit the Wen family fortune would be Wen Huiyu from the Second Branch. With the Xie family manipulating things from behind the scenes, the plan would be even more secure.
Wen Huiyu is a bookworm who only knows medicine. Even if the Xie family takes half, the remaining half of the Wen family’s assets is still astronomical wealth. Wan Lihong knows nothing about corporate operations, so she would have to rely on him and hand over the company for him to manage.
He had to seize this opportunity!
The person on the other end happily agreed after hearing the doubled reward. “Mr. Yang, expect good news. Your task will be completed.”
At the film set, Yan Qingqi arrived again with food. This time, besides Gong Yue, A-Li also accompanied her.
Song Tingxue had met A-Li before and knew he, along with four other men and one woman, worked with Gong Yue. She had met A-Li when he exchanged shifts with Gong Yue at the villa.
Xiaole and Luo Sisi were meeting the tall A-Li for the first time and asked Yan Qingqi, “Sister Yan, who is he?”
Yan Qingqi smiled. “He’s Gong Yue’s colleague. My friend arranged for him to look after the villa and me.”
Xiaole had heard from Sister Song that their villa was provided free by Yan Qingqi’s friend, complete with dedicated staff. “Sister Yan, your friend is so nice!”
Luo Sisi asked, “Is that your friend with the private jet?”
Yan Qingqi smiled. “Yes, the same one. Sister Sisi, are you thinking of taking the private jet again?”
Luo Sisi waved her hand. “What’s the fun in just riding a private jet? Your rich friend should treat all of us to a vacation on Elf Island someday.”
Elf Island, one of the most beautiful islands in the world, with romantic forests, magnificent mountains, and stunning coastlines. It is known as the last sanctuary of the world’s spirits.
It is also a famous tourist destination.
Yan Qingqi: “You want a vacation on Elf Island? My friend doesn’t need to arrange it. I’ll treat everyone.”
Luo Sisi was stunned. She whispered to Song Tingxue, “I can’t believe this. Why didn’t I know Yan Qingqi had such a habit of showing off? Where does she have the money to treat everyone? Isn’t she spending your money, Sister Song? You need to talk to her and tell her not to act like a rich boss in public anymore.”
Song Tingxue didn’t mind at all. “A-Yan is just being kind and wants to treat everyone to a trip. What’s the difference between her paying and me paying? When we have time, we’ll go to Elf Island for a vacation together.”
Luo Sisi was stunned again. She looked at Song Tingxue, smiling. “Sister Song, wives like you are becoming extinct. Your mother-in-law won the jackpot. Her daughter married such a wonderful wife.”
Luo Sisi said this casually, but Song Tingxue realized something she hadn’t found strange at the time but did now.
Dr. Wen Huiyu was A-Yan’s cousin. Since she appeared at Huatian Hospital, her family must have received the news. A-Yan disappeared from home for so many days, and even if A-Yan herself couldn’t remember everything, why didn’t her family go to the hospital to see her?
She thought about how Dr. Wen, despite being professional and dedicated, always seemed aloof. Even when interacting with her own cousin, she wasn’t particularly warm.
Perhaps that was just her personality, or maybe their relationship was strained.
However, the fact remained that no one from A-Yan’s family went to the hospital to see A-Yan.
If her grandparents were deceased, why didn’t her parents or siblings visit?
During all the days they stayed in the hospital, no one from the Wen family ever showed up to see Wen Shuyan.
Song Tingxue thought sadly, Miss Yan must have come from a good background, but it seems she was abandoned by her family.
“Songsong, what are you thinking about? Time to eat!” Yan Qingqi was excited. “Today, we have sweet and sour large shrimp balls! They’re delicious.”
Song Tingxue hummed. She suddenly leaned close to Yan Qingqi, saying shyly yet seriously, “A-Yan, no matter what happened to you, you will never be alone. I will never leave you.”
Yan Qingqi: “…”
What is my wife imagining now???
Among the extras, a newcomer named Chen Guo handed cigarettes to two other extras.
“Yo! Is that a good brand? Chen Guo, you smoke high-quality stuff!”
Chen Guo: “It’s for my two brothers. Of course, it has to be good.”
The two smiled widely. “You’re a thoughtful kid.”
Chen Guo asked, “How much longer will this crew be filming?”
His gaze intentionally drifted toward Song Tingxue’s car. The doors were closed, the dark window tint blocking any view inside. Next to the car, Chen Guo spotted two individuals who looked like they were wandering but were actually bodyguards.
One man said, “Not much longer. We’re going to Linxian Peak for location shooting in a few days. We’ll use aerial drones.”
Chen Guo’s mind stirred. “Is Song Tingxue going?”
The other said, “Of course! She’s the female lead! Why? Do you want her autograph? I heard a lot of fans got the news and are planning to go to Linxian Peak that day.”
Chen Guo deliberately asked, “Who was the person who brought Song Tingxue’s lunch just now?”
“Her assistant, Assistant Yan. She cooks specifically for her and brings it over. They say the food is quite delicious.”
“Is she going to Linxian Peak that day?”
“Of course! Why wouldn’t she? She follows Song Tingxue everywhere. She’ll definitely be there.”
“Haha, we can go visit the scenic area and won’t even have to buy tickets. What a great opportunity!”
Chen Guo listened, his mind racing, a cold smile in his eyes. What a great opportunity. How could he miss it?
That evening, Song Tingxue returned home. She pressed her finger to the scanner, opened the door, and closed it behind her. She took off her hat, sunglasses, and mask.
“You’re back?” Yan Qingqi’s voice came from the kitchen doorway. She was holding a ladle, but unlike before, she didn’t walk to the door to greet her wife.
Although Song Tingxue found Yan Qingqi’s change unusual, she didn’t think much of it.
“The soup today is excellent. Go wash your hands and rest for a bit. Dinner will be ready soon.”
Song Tingxue washed her hands, but instead of sitting on the sofa, she went to the kitchen.
Seeing the figure busy at the stove, Song Tingxue quietly walked over and hugged her from behind. She rested her head on her slender back, cheek rubbing against the thin fabric of her shirt. Yan Qingqi’s back looked thin, but beneath the shirt were well-toned muscles. Song Tingxue pressed close, feeling the warmth of her skin through the fabric gently caress her cheek. She instinctively tightened her arms, hugging her closer.
Yan Qingqi quickly put down the ladle. “Stop hugging me! I’m covered in cooking smells.”
“I don’t mind. I don’t care.”
“No, that won’t do. You’ll smell greasy. It’s not good if your skin takes on the odor.” Yan Qingqi turned around, looking at Song Tingxue nestled in her arms, soft and adorable. She gently stroked her smooth, long hair. “Let’s get ready for dinner.”
Song Tingxue tilted her head, closing her eyes playfully. “Kiss me. Kiss me before dinner.”
Yan Qingqi smiled dotingly, planting a kiss on her sweet, soft lips.
“Not enough. I need another kiss,” Song Tingxue complained softly.
Since she could remember, she had been in the orphanage. There were many children, big and small, with all sorts of personalities, living together. She often looked out the window, watching children pass by on the street, hugged or held by their fathers or mothers. When children refused to walk or threw tantrums, their mothers would hug and comfort them, cheering them up. Every time she saw a mother kissing her child, Song Tingxue desperately longed for it—to be kissed like that, to have her little hand held, to be brought home.
But she knew it was a luxury she couldn’t afford. She was just an abandoned child, like everyone else at the orphanage.
She once overheard the caregivers talking. “This child is so beautiful and well-behaved. What kind of parents could be so cruel?”
“She was born in the hospital, and they just ran off. This child has been unwanted since birth.”
“What a sin!”
“In the end, it’s the child who suffers. If she were from a normal family, such a beautiful child would be treasured.”
Treasured?
Song Tingxue didn’t know what that felt like, but it must be a warm and happy feeling.
As a child, she always longed to return to a place called home, a place where she could act spoiled, but no one ever took her home.
Until that year, when she was steadily supported by a pair of gentle, strong hands. The air faintly carried the scent of cedar. The person’s eyes were beautiful and gentle, elegant, as if from another world.
That face, those eyes, that smile—Song Tingxue would remember them forever.
Song Tingxue sometimes felt an uncontrollable urge. She wanted to shower A-Yan with all the affection she had never been able to express over the years: the spoiled behavior of a toddler, a child, a teenager—all directed at A-Yan.
For no other reason than that she truly wanted to experience the feeling of being pampered.
The feeling of being treasured.
Yan Qingqi laughed and kissed her again.
Just as she was about to pull away, a pair of hands cupped her head and pulled her closer. Song Tingxue closed her eyes, deepening the kiss.
She kissed her Miss Yan with a heart full of happiness.
The scent of cedar filled their mouths.
A few nights later, Yan Qingqi was folding and hanging the washed clothes, putting them into the wardrobe.
Song Tingxue was lying on the bed, her fingers scrolling through a tablet, looking at tourist guides for Elf Island. She wore only shorts, her two fair, long legs swinging leisurely.
“Wife, is this drama almost finished filming?”
Song Tingxue nodded. “Yes, almost. The weather is good these days. We’re going on location tomorrow. After that, it’s just wrapping up. It should be done in about a week. Then it’s post-production.”
Song Tingxue added, “Let’s go on vacation after filming. To Elf Island.”
Yan Qingqi smiled. “Sounds great.” She thought, If the scenery on Elf Island is beautiful and everything is perfect, and Songsong likes it, she would choose a good day before the end of the year to hold a grand wedding there. She would invite friends and family to witness her marriage to Songsong.
Of course, she first needed to correct the marriage registration, making Songsong her legal wife, Wen Shuyan’s wife.
Song Tingxue didn’t hear Yan Qingqi speak for a while. She turned her head and saw A-Yan smiling foolishly, clearly lost in thought.
“A-Yan, what are you thinking about?”
Yan Qingqi quickly moved to the bedside. “Songsong, if you ever find out I’m a little different, would you still like me?”
A little different?
Song Tingxue sensitively detected an unusual hint.
“Did you mutate? Are you parasitized by aliens?”
Yan Qingqi: “!!!”
“Wife, what are you talking about? Mutated? Have you been watching too many sci-fi movies?”
Song Tingxue shrugged. “Director Zou is selecting scripts. She sent me two temporary scripts today, though they’re not finalized. One is about time travel, multiple rebirths, and rekindled romance. The other is a sci-fi theme about fighting alien invasion—a monster-slaying story. She asked my opinion on which role I’d like to play.”
Yan Qingqi thought for a moment. “The first one.”
“Why? I’ve never done a sci-fi film. I’d really like to try one.”
“The second one, if filmed well, could easily become a blockbuster, but the audience’s focus would be on the thrilling plot. There isn’t much room for the actor’s performance.”
Song Tingxue nodded. “I guess the first one then.”
Yan Qingqi: “If you want to film the second one, we can do it later. Film a deeper one, make it a series. I support you. My Songsong might even become a household name as a sci-fi heroine.”
“A series? How much would that cost?”
“Money is not a problem.”
Song Tingxue looked at her again. “You’re quite generous with your wealth. Don’t say anything, but your acting is very good right now, so natural. You have this innate confidence, as if you really could produce billions at any moment.”
Yan Qingqi chuckled. I really can produce billions at any moment.
She followed her wife’s lead and asked, “Wife, what if I had some money? Well, let’s assume I’m a billionaire. What would you do?”
Song Tingxue looked at A-Yan, who was getting deeply into character and lost in the fantasy, and shook her head helplessly, continuing to flip through photos of Elf Island.
“Songsong, tell me. You still haven’t said if I were a billionaire, would you still like me?”
“I’d like you. Why wouldn’t I like you if you became a billionaire?” Song Tingxue said without looking up. “You’d be so rich. You’d be the one supporting the family, and I could comfortably be a billionaire’s wife. I wouldn’t have to rush to film anymore.”
“Do you have any requirements for me? I’d have to manage the family business, so I might be busy and not be able to cook for you every meal.”
Is she getting addicted to this role-playing?
“It’s fine. Wouldn’t we have a maid for that? As long as you keep me and the children in your heart.”
“I will think of you and our children every moment.” Yan Qingqi lay down beside her, looking at the tablet with her.
Song Tingxue suddenly remembered something serious.
“Oh, right. You are not allowed to have any other Omegas. No women, no men either!”
Yan Qingqi was shocked by her thought. “Why would you say that? Of course not! Don’t worry. The most you’ll have to worry about is the children competing for attention.”
Song Tingxue’s lips curved happily. She suddenly asked, “Will you take care of me when I give birth?”
“Of course, I will! Giving birth is a huge event. I’ll take care of you every moment!”
“If my figure changes, will you mind me?”
“How could I? You’ll be carrying our baby, going through so much hardship. How could I mind you? If the pain could be transferred, I’d take 80% of it.”
Song Tingxue complained softly. “Why not 100%?”
“I’m afraid it would hurt too much. Just take two parts for me.”
Song Tingxue smiled widely. “Okay.”
They rested their heads together, looking at the island’s travel guide.
Yan Qingqi: “Wife, I want to eat this pastry and taste that wine.”
Song Tingxue: “Buy it.”
“Wife, this handmade item is so beautiful. Let’s get one each.”
“Buy it.”
“Wife, this gem necklace looks stunning.”
“Buy it.”
The weather was beautiful. Outside the Linxian Scenic Area, fans were crowded together: Song Tingxue’s, Xu Huanyan’s, Luo Sisi’s, and others. Naturally, Song Tingxue had the most fans.
Seeing the fully made-up Song Tingxue emerge from the car, the fans immediately grew excited, screaming and surging forward, trying to cross the police tape. They screamed and shouted, “Goddess Song! Goddess Song! Goddess Song…” Fortunately, staff and security guards quickly held them back.
Yan Qingqi, wearing a hat, acted as an assistant, walking right behind Songsong.
Behind her was A-Li, and next to her was Gong Yue. Both were on high alert, watching the crowd closely for any suspicious individuals.
This was Yan Qingqi’s first time seeing such a scene. Seeing the fans pushing forward, screaming excitedly, and even crying, she truly understood how popular her wife was!
Song Tingxue seemed used to it. Facing the enthusiastic fans and the raised phone cameras, she smiled graciously and waved.
The fans became even more excited. Suddenly, someone rushed past the police tape, charging toward Song Tingxue. Fortunately, a staff member intercepted the person. “Please cooperate and stand outside the line.”
Then, someone shouted, “Goddess Song! Goddess Song! I love you so much! Let’s take a picture!”
One person broke through!
Someone else fanned the flames. “What a great opportunity! I want a picture with Goddess Song too!”
With that, more than ten people surged across the police tape toward Song Tingxue. “Goddess Song! Goddess Song! I love you!”
Four men in the crowd exchanged glances, mixing in with the fans, and rushed out.
The scene descended into chaos. Staff and security guards struggled to hold back the fans.
Yan Qingqi saw a man lunging at Songsong. Given his size, Songsong would be injured if he tackled her. Yan Qingqi was furious. She rushed forward, shielding Songsong behind her, and pushed the man away. The man stumbled and staggered backward a few steps.
Yan Qingqi frowned. “Everyone back up! Get back behind the line! This isn’t love for Goddess Song; you’re hurting Song—”
But the crowd seemed energized, screaming hysterically and surging toward Song Tingxue like a tide.
Yan Qingqi grabbed Songsong and tried to pull her away. Just then, a few more people rushed toward them.
Gong Yue immediately noticed four men acting suspiciously. Their eyes weren’t crazed with fandom; they held a cold, ruthless focus.
“A-Li, the man in the black hat at three o’clock.”
Gong Yue shouted this while simultaneously charging at a man in a black fitted T-shirt at ten o’clock. As they clashed, the man pulled a dagger from his sleeve.
Gong Yue was shocked. She began fighting the man, quickly shouting into her headset, “A-Feng, Yanzi, drive here for support immediately!” She needed A-Feng and Yanzi to drive the car over and escort Yan Qingqi to safety.
Yan Qingqi had just pushed away another frantic fan when another man charged at her. When she tried to push him, she saw a knife in his sleeve, aimed straight for her carotid artery.
Yan Qingqi was startled. In a flash, she realized this person was not a fan.
They were after her!
She executed the move Gong Yue had taught her, dodging the attack, and countering by violently striking the attacker’s wrist. The man hadn’t expected her to have fighting skills. With a metallic clang, the knife fell to the ground, reflecting cold light.
The cold glare shocked Song Tingxue. Realizing these people were armed, she screamed, “A-Yan, be careful!”
A-Li, having subdued one attacker, saw another lunging at Yan Qingqi from behind. He instantly dove, pinning the man to the ground. The two wrestled fiercely. In the confusion, blood flowed from the ground, quickly forming a large pool.
The fans shrieked in terror and scattered.
The scene was a mess. Staff hurried to escort Song Tingxue away.
“A-Yan! A-Yan!”
Yan Qingqi turned around, about to tell Songsong to run. The man whose dagger she had knocked away suddenly pulled out a gun and calmly aimed at Yan Qingqi, pulling the trigger.
A single gunshot rang out, stunning everyone.
Yan Qingqi saw him raise the gun, her pupils contracting. She quickly dove aside. Her reaction was fast, but it wasn’t faster than the bullet, especially at that close range.
Yan Qingqi felt a searing, painful shock in her chest. Her whole body spasmed. Her mind buzzed, her head ringing.
Had she been shot? Who wanted to kill her?
She collapsed to the ground, utterly drained, unable to think.
Bang! Another shot. The man fired a second round at the fallen Yan Qingqi. Almost simultaneously, a cold flash crossed the air. Gong Yue threw the dagger in her hand at the assailant and dove to shield Yan Qingqi.
The man groaned, a dagger embedded in his abdomen. Gong Yue grunted, hit in the abdomen by the bullet. She gritted her teeth, refusing to fall. With bloodshot eyes, she swung the baton in her hand, charging at the man like a wounded, enraged lion.
Song Tingxue saw Yan Qingqi shot. Forgetting everything, she pushed past the staff and ran towards Yan Qingqi.
“A-Yan, A-Yan, are you alright? You can’t be hurt. You absolutely can’t…”
Yan Qingqi was dizzy. She opened her eyes and saw Songsong crying, frantic and scared, hugging her with tear-reddened eyes, her makeup smeared. She tried to move her lips, wanting to say she was fine and to stop crying. But when she opened her mouth, she realized her whole body was weak. She couldn’t utter a single word.
Song Tingxue saw blood gushing from A-Yan’s chest. It flowed continuously. Panic-stricken, she pressed her hand to the wound, but the blood flowed faster, seeping through her fingers.
“A-Yan, don’t scare me! Don’t scare me!”
Just then, another man climbed up from the ground, pulled a dagger from his boot, and staggered toward them.
A-Li and another person lay in a pool of blood. Gong Yue, covered in blood, wrestled with the equally blood-soaked assailant. The man’s dropped handgun lay nearby.
Song Tingxue saw the man approaching with the dagger and knew what he intended. She glanced around, spotting the gun the attacker had dropped, and frantically ran to pick it up.
Seeing her going for the gun, the man quickened his pace, raising the dagger toward Yan Qingqi.
Just then, a car sped in, skidding to a halt beside Yan Qingqi with a loud screech. The car doors opened simultaneously. A woman quickly delivered a powerful kick, instantly knocking down the man lunging at Yan Qingqi.
The man crashed hard onto the ground. The woman followed up with a taser, violently shocking him. The man twitched and lay still.
The woman then lifted the fallen Yan Qingqi and effortlessly moved her into the car.
“A-Yan!” Song Tingxue, her hands bloody, held the handgun and rushed into the car. Holding the gun for the first time, she was shaking all over, but she gripped it tightly, terrified that someone else would rush out to kill A-Yan.
The man who fired the gun saw that the opposition’s reinforcements had arrived and his accomplices were subdued. He dared not linger. He kicked Gong Yue and ran away.
“Boss! Are you alright?!”
Gong Yue: “Forget me! Get Miss Yan to the hospital immediately!”
“Drive, A-Feng!” The car roared and sped off.
Gong Yue collapsed to the ground, her face pale, covered in cold sweat. She had pushed herself to the limit.
Lying on the ground, her vision slowly fading, she thought of Luo Sisi and her brother, Gong Qiang. If she died today, she wouldn’t rest in peace. Even in death, she couldn’t believe her brother would betray Wen Shuyan’s trust and kill Xin Ge.
She pulled out her phone, found the emergency contact, and pressed the dial button.
The phone was answered after two rings. It was Miss Jing’s voice. “Gong Yue, what happened?”
Gong Yue reported breathlessly, “Miss Jing, we were attacked. Miss Wen was shot. Miss Song… went with her to the hospital.”
The crew members and the scenic area staff were all dumbfounded. Staring at the people lying haphazardly on the ground and the blood everywhere, everyone was completely numb.
When they finally reacted, cold sweat broke out on their backs.
Murder, a shooting! It was terrifying! It happened right in front of them!
This is the stuff of movies!
Wait, this is really a movie set!
Author’s Note:
Darlings, don’t worry. There will be another chapter tonight. I’m coding away, sweating profusely!
