After Appearing on a Dating Show with a Top-Star Omega - Chapter 11
When they parted.
After saying goodbye, Jiang Yuan got up and left.
She had only taken two steps when her footsteps suddenly stopped, and she turned back around.
In the rearview mirror, Yu Qingshi saw that figure suddenly return. Since she had been paying attention to Jiang Yuan’s condition, she immediately raised her hand and pressed the button.
The car window lowered just as Jiang Yuan reached it.
Yu Qingshi raised her eyes and asked, “What’s wrong, Yuanyuan?”
Jiang Yuan bent down slightly and leaned by the car window. “Qingshi, do you still remember the person we ran into on the path that night?”
Yu Qingshi thought for a moment and remembered the back of the person who had hurriedly run away. “That… Jiang Qi?”
“Yes.”
“What happened?” Yu Qingshi was puzzled, not knowing why Jiang Yuan had brought her up.
In a flash, she suddenly realized something. “She came to find you?”
“Yes.” Jiang Yuan nodded and explained carefully. “That night, she saw the news, so… she also knows your girlfriend—”
Her voice paused. Jiang Yuan raised her eyes and met Yu Qingshi’s gaze for an instant, then lowered her eyelids and continued, “—is me.”
“Does Yuanyuan mind being known by them?”
Jiang Yuan shook her head. “I’m just worried it will affect you.”
After all, she had not interacted much with Jiang Qi, and she did not know whether Jiang Qi would tell the media about it.
“It’s fine.” Yu Qingshi comforted her softly.
“Just like you said, the more we hide it, the more it will stir up endless curiosity.”
“If she knows, then she knows.”
The person opposite her was leaning toward the car window, her face exposed beneath the warm orange light. She was too close, and those sincere black puppy eyes seemed to shimmer.
Yu Qingshi could not hold back. She raised her hand and pinched Jiang Yuan’s cheek. “Don’t worry, Yuanyuan. Go back and have a good sleep. Even if it really gets exposed to the media, I’ll handle it.”
Jiang Yuan let Yu Qingshi pinch her. Her cheek was being tugged, so her words came out a little muffled. “Okay… Then good night, Qingshi.”
Only then did Yu Qingshi reluctantly lower her hand. She crossed her arms on the car window frame and smiled. “Good night, Yuanyuan.”
Only after that figure gradually moved farther away did the car slowly leave. It drove out of A University, but did not return to the residential compound along its usual route.
The black car had smooth lines, merging into the traffic like a fish.
Yu Qingshi tilted her head and leaned against the car window.
Her amber eyes reflected the scenery outside.
The car passed through the city’s neon lights, past lush groves of trees, and followed a small road up the mountain before finally stopping in front of a villa.
The villa was secluded yet luxurious. Its French-style design was elegant and restrained, surrounded by greenery and a lake. Its layout was layered, dignified, and refined.
A housekeeper and servants stood at the entrance, as if they had known someone would be coming back tonight.
Yu Qingshi opened the door and got out of the car.
The housekeeper walked forward and naturally took the shoulder bag from her hand. “Miss, President Yu is waiting for you in the living room.”
“Okay.”
A servant opened the front door. Light poured out, and the house inside was brightly lit. The high dome ceiling rose above, and a magnificent crystal chandelier gave off dazzling light.
Yu Qingshi stepped into the living room and immediately saw the person sitting on the sofa.
Unlike her usual suited appearance in the office, the woman was dressed in comfortable silk pajamas and was leaning against the sofa.
She had shoulder-length black hair, and her brows and eyes were lowered as she read the newspaper in her hands.
Hearing the sound, she immediately put away the newspaper and looked up with a smile. “Xiaoshi is back?”
Yu Qingshi sat opposite her and gave a soft “mm” in response.
Yu Qingyi asked with concern, “How has your gland been recently?”
“It’s been fine. Doctor Lü said it’s still two suppressants a month.”
The two sisters had not exchanged more than a few polite words before Yu Qingyi went straight to the main topic.
She placed the documents beside her onto the table. “Take a look at this.”
All kinds of materials spread across the marble tabletop.
Dense black words filled the bright white pages.
Yu Qingshi knew what these were.
The Yu family held a family meeting once a month. It was nothing more than her recent news, medical reports, and the like.
But this time, among the pile of documents, Yu Qingshi saw an unexpected photo.
In the photo, the girl had deep-set brows and eyes, a high nose, and thin lips, giving her an intense sense of pressure.
Yet she had a pair of pitch-black eyes, gentle and warm, with tiny glimmers of light rippling inside.
It was Jiang Yuan.
Yu Qingshi pulled that file out from among the pile of documents, her palm unconsciously smoothing the folded pages carefully.
She frowned and looked up. “You investigated her?”
Yu Qingyi picked up the cup beside her and took a sip of coffee. Her voice was gentle, but she spoke directly. “Xiaoshi, she’s a Beta.”
“You investigated her.” Yu Qingshi’s voice carried anger.
Yu Qingyi: “…”
Still, she continued seriously, her goal clear and without the slightest hesitation. “She is no help to your condition. I can’t possibly agree to this.”
“This is my business,” Yu Qingshi stated as fact.
“Of course.” Yu Qingyi smiled, but her attitude did not yield at all. “I don’t care what feelings you have for her, and I don’t know how you suddenly gained a girlfriend.”
“But before you turn twenty-seven, if you can’t find an Alpha you like…”
Yu Qingshi’s lashes trembled slightly.
Twenty-seven was the final age Doctor Lü had said she could receive treatment.
“I will submit your pheromones into the matching system.”
The Alpha-Omega pheromone matching system.
In earlier years, Alphas and Omegas married according to pheromone compatibility. After secondary differentiation, they would enter their pheromones into the matching system.
In recent years, as people’s awareness of freedom had awakened, they could no longer accept this kind of binding marriage system.
This method had been declining year by year, but there were still people who hoped to find a highly compatible partner through it.
Yu Qingshi lowered her eyes. “Does whether someone is an Alpha matter that much?”
“Of course it matters!” Yu Qingyi’s anger immediately surged.
For these past three years, her younger sister had never taken her illness seriously, let alone tried to find an Alpha who suited her.
Her voice turned stern. “Are you asking your sister to watch helplessly as you die?”
Pheromone disorder had very few clinical cases. The only thing that could be confirmed was this—
As the patient aged, the inability to control pheromones would cause all kinds of damage to the gland.
No one had lived past thirty.
“Rumble—”
Thunder roared outside the window. Purple-white lightning cracked across the sky, as if it were about to tear the heavens apart.
White light suddenly flashed into the room.
Outside, the sound of pouring rain began. Summer storms came fierce and sudden.
With one sentence, the atmosphere inside froze, dropping to the freezing point.
Yu Qingshi said nothing. She took Jiang Yuan’s personal file and turned to leave.
Before leaving, she glanced at Yu Qingyi and left only one sentence behind:
“Don’t worry. She has no feelings for me.”
The rain poured down like a waterfall. Raindrops fell like countless thin threads, continuous and unbroken, without the slightest gap.
Looking out from inside, they formed a curtain of rain.
Yu Qingshi stepped alone into the rain. The torrential downpour soaked her in an instant.
Her black hair stuck to her face, making her complexion look pale, yet something seemed to be pressing painfully against her heart.
The housekeeper hurriedly followed beside her with an umbrella. “Miss, President Yu is only too anxious.”
“Normally, whenever negative news about you appears, she gets angrier and more anxious than anyone else. You sisters must not hurt your relationship over this.”
Yu Qingshi opened the car door. She turned sideways and looked at the housekeeper, her tone gentle. “It’s raining outside, and the weather is cold. Auntie Li, go back. Sleep early.”
After saying that, she turned and got into the car.
The engine started, and the black car sped away.
The once-a-month family meeting had, for once, ended unhappily.

On the other side.
Jiang Yuan had rushed back to the dorm right before curfew.
Qi Meng’an and Liang You had already finished washing up and climbed into bed.
Seeing Jiang Yuan return, Qi Meng’an quickly urged her, “Xiao Yuan, hurry and go shower and wash up. The dorm lights are about to go out.”
“Okay.”
By the time Jiang Yuan came out again, heavy rain had already started falling outside.
She walked to her desk and opened her backpack, then went to Liang You’s bed.
“Youzi, the poster.” Jiang Yuan knocked on Liang You’s bedpost.
“Mm? Poster? This one also won’t—” Liang You opened her bed curtain and poked her head out.
Before she could finish speaking, her gaze landed on the poster with the golden signature.
“Aaaaaah—mmph.” Liang You hurriedly covered her mouth, cutting off the sharp scream.
Qi Meng’an was so startled that she trembled. She also poked her head out. “Ah? What happened? What happened? Was there an earthquake?”
Liang You wanted to reach out and touch the poster, but her hand suddenly braked in midair.
She simply turned around and climbed down from her bed.
Liang You stood face-to-face with Jiang Yuan, straight-backed. With both hands, she solemnly accepted the poster from her.
Then she held up the poster and admired it inch by inch. “Wuwuwu, my goddess’s signature is way too beautiful.”
Qi Meng’an also climbed down to join the fun. Standing beside them, she sighed. “Xiao Yuan, did you ride a rocket? That was so fast.”
“So you went out just now to see my goddess?” Liang You reacted. Her eyes shone as she looked at Jiang Yuan, both gossipy and excited.
Jiang Yuan admitted, “Mm.”
“Then this was freshly signed by my goddess? Wuwuwu, I must be the happiest person in the world.” Liang You exaggeratedly hugged the poster to her chest.
Qi Meng’an: “…Be careful not to rub off the signature.”
Liang You immediately pulled it away.
Liang You sighed. “Ah, what a pity I’m a Beta and can’t smell pheromones. If only I could smell them. Maybe there’s still a faint fragrance left on this signature.”
“…I’m begging you.” Qi Meng’an was speechless. “Can you stop being so perverted?”
“Even begging has to queue!”
“Why am I not an Alpha?” Liang You pouted, looking as if she wanted to cry but had no tears.
Hearing this, Jiang Yuan froze for an instant. She remembered what Jiang Qi had said during the day.
“You two, you two…”
Those unfinished words had been interrupted by her.
But of course Jiang Yuan knew what they would have been.
Jiang Yuan’s sharp tooth bit the tip of her tongue, and her hand curled slightly.
Did being an Alpha matter that much…
After lights-out, the three of them each returned to bed.
Jiang Yuan lay on her bed and opened the notes app on her phone.
Ever since she learned that Senior was sick, she had gathered a lot of information related to pheromone disorder.
Among them, every recovery case involved an Alpha-Omega pairing.
The tip of Jiang Yuan’s heart suddenly felt numb, sour, and swollen.
She simply turned her phone face down and rolled over to lie on her side.
The cat paw earring she had not taken off was pressed into her flesh because of her position.
The hard object dug into her skin, cold and painful, the sensation of a foreign object distinct.
Outside the window, rain poured down in sheets. The rushing sound did not stop, and raindrops kept striking the glass with muffled thuds.
She closed her eyes and gave herself an answer.
Whether someone was an Alpha—
It mattered so much.
