After Becoming a Scumbag Alpha, the Green Tea Omega is Reborn - Chapter 28
“You little enchantress, what are you trying to do now?”
“I asked Sister Zhang; there are no schedule arrangements for tomorrow night. Let’s have dinner together at the restaurant across from Tao Yu’s school.” Tao Ran sniffed the rich cedar scent on Yu Li, her cheek pressed against the other’s thin back.
“Whatever you arrange is fine.” Yu Li let out a sharp breath, catching Tao Ran’s hand which was constantly wandering downward. “No moving around anymore.”
“You liar. You clearly said you would prove it to me.” Tao Ran shrugged her shoulders and tilted her gaze up to peek at her, her eyes misty and looking incredibly aggrieved.
If a passerby saw her now, they would surely be fooled by this pitiable look and think Yu Li was bullying her—not knowing that her hand was tugging back and forth along the waistband of Yu Li’s trousers.
“Don’t believe rumors, don’t spread rumors; I never said that.”
“Then I can only go on Weibo and ask the fans,” Tao Ran withdrew her hand and picked up her phone, clicking on the Hot Search. “Let’s see where the tag ‘Yu Li is Incapable’ is ranked now.”
“Don’t look!” Yu Li turned to snatch the phone, but Tao Ran stepped on a chopstick that had fallen to the floor. Her foot slipped, and she started to fall backward.
Yu Li instinctively wrapped an arm around her waist and leaned forward. In an instant, she had her pressed against the kitchen cabinet, bracing both hands on either side of her waist.
The moment their eyes met, both froze. Yu Li suppressed her slightly heavy breathing. She was about to straighten up, but Tao Ran gently looped her arms around her waist.
Tao Ran’s cheek rested against her collarbone, her fingers humming as they traced circles along Yu Li’s waistline.
“I’ve been tired all day. Aren’t you going to reward me a little?”
The fragrance on her body was always so pleasant; just being held by her like this made it feel like she could never get enough of the scent.
“What reward do you want?” Yu Li ruffled her hair.
“So unromantic,” Tao Ran muttered. “I’m already right here, why aren’t you hugging me?”
Tao Ran had long known that this Alpha in her house was the type who wouldn’t say a word even if you prodded her with a stick, so she didn’t intend to make things difficult for her.
Yu Li laughed and pulled Tao Ran into a proper hug, her cedar scent rich and fresh. Tao Ran was about to let go after a quick nuzzle, but in the next second, she felt Yu Li’s lips gently brush against her cheek.
“Is this what you wanted?” Yu Li whispered against her ear.
Tao Ran’s heart skipped a beat. She clung to the other’s shoulders and said, “Can I have a little more?”
A kiss planted on the corner of her lips served as Yu Li’s answer. Tao Ran let out a soft laugh, tilting her head to deepen the kiss. With a crisp “pop” sound, the two parted, their eyes filled with smiles.
“You liar. You just said you weren’t bad at all.”
“It’s because you’re always seducing me.” Yu Li let out a light huff and flicked her nose.
Tao Ran pushed her away, playing with a lock of hair around her finger as she turned around.
“I am not. I was going to ask you a question.”
“Ask what?”
“I wanted to ask…” Yu Li was facing away from Tao Ran and didn’t see the flicker in her gaze.
“I’ve already taken you to see my sister. When are you going to take me to see your older sister?”
Yu Li’s back instantly stiffened.
Tao Ran’s family background was very simple—her parents were honest, ordinary workers, and although her younger sister was a bit troublesome, she was just an average high schooler.
Relatively speaking, Yu Li’s family situation was much more complex. Yu Li had been a disobedient child since she was small, and her parents had largely ignored her, pouring all their energy into her older sister, Yu Liu. Yu Liu was seven years older than Yu Li, the CEO of the Yu Lang Group, and the legitimate heir of the Yu family. Both sisters were Alphas with the same blood in their veins, but their personalities were completely different.
The original Yu Li had a violent temper and made it her mission to go against her family. After getting into the Central Academy of Drama, she became even worse. Her parents were quite disappointed in her and often neglected her. She was happy with the freedom, staying away from home for half a year at a time. Although she made plenty of money from acting, her spending habits left her in constant debt.
The family sent money to Yu Li’s card every month. Yu Li really wanted to contact them, but there was almost no information about her family in the original owner’s memory fragments. To avoid blowing her cover, Yu Li hadn’t dared to make a single phone call home in the month since her transmigration.
Tao Ran sensed Yu Li’s hesitation and smiled, saying, “I just said it randomly. Don’t think too much about it.”
Even so, she couldn’t help but feel a bit of disappointment.
In her previous life, she had married Yu Li without receiving a blessing from anyone in the Yu family. Even at the wedding held for the public and media, Yu Liu had never appeared.
It would be nice if we could get the approval of both families in this life.
The next evening, after school finished, Tao Yu walked excitedly to a shopping mall one subway stop away from High School A. Yu Li had booked a private room there earlier. Since the couple was still on their way, they notified Tao Yu to go in first and order food.
Tao Yu wasn’t actually that interested in the meal; she mainly wanted to use the dinner as an excuse to see her sister-in-law, Yu Li, and hint that she had improved her grades so Yu Li would send her money. To her surprise, Yu Li had already transferred over ten thousand yuan to her last night, down to the last cent.
Tao Yu thought to herself: My sister-in-law is a real one. If you have the money, she really gives it.
Tao Yu hummed a tune as she walked into the reserved restaurant. Two people followed her inside, one after the other—one of them was holding a phone as if filming.
The person scanned Tao Yu and then shot a look at Shi Yi. Shi Yi understood; as she turned with her phone, she “accidentally” bumped into Tao Yu.
“Ah, I’m sorry.” Shi Yi was good-looking, an Omega, and had a fresh, pleasant scent. Tao Yu’s heart raced as she looked at her.
“It’s fine.”
Shi Yi didn’t rush to leave. She gave Tao Yu a radiant smile. “Hello, little sister. I’m a streamer; I’m here to do a restaurant review. My name is Shi Yi.”
Tao Yu scratched her head. “I think I’ve heard of you.”
Aubrey, who had been following Shi Yi with her head down playing on her phone, looked up and stared at Tao Yu for a moment. She froze.
“Hey, little sister, you look a lot like Tao Ran.”
The fact that Tao Yu and Tao Ran were sisters was a secret that couldn’t be made public. To the outside world, Tao Yu always played dumb.
Tao Yu shrugged and smiled naturally. “Yeah, people say that all the time.”
“You’re…” Aubrey looked Tao Yu up and down and smiled. “You must be Tao Yu.”
Shi Yi added warmly, “Oh right! You’re Tao Ran’s sister, aren’t you? Yu Li mentions you to us all the time.”
Tao Yu looked at them in a daze. Aubrey continued: “Don’t misunderstand; we aren’t bad people. We’re friends of Yu Li. We’ve been abroad for the past few weeks and haven’t contacted her yet since we got back.”
“You must have the wrong person. How could I be a big star’s sister? Besides, even if you know a star, what does that have to do with me?”
Tao Yu turned to leave, but Aubrey let out a soft sigh behind her.
“A pity. Since I can’t get in touch with Yu Li, this multi-million-yuan business deal is going to fall through.”
At the mention of “multi-million,” Tao Yu’s footsteps stopped.
Shi Yi acted distressed. “Is Yu Li still unwilling?”
“Yeah. Making such a fuss over a little argument, it’s really annoying.”
“What were you guys just saying? What multi-million-yuan deal?” Tao Yu hurried back, her eyes glowing.
“I often travel abroad for business and I’m friends with Yu Li. I wanted to invite her for a fashion show abroad—five million for two days. But she won’t pick up my calls, so I guess it’s off.”
“That much money? Why won’t she do it? Wait… you really know Yu Li?”
Aubrey opened her contact list and put Yu Li’s number in front of her. “Check for yourself. Is this your sister-in-law’s number?”
Tao Yu looked at the number in surprise, and then her face lit up with joy. “You guys really are my sister-in-law’s friends!”
Aubrey and Shi Yi exchanged a triumphant look.
“What a coincidence to run into you like this.”
Shi Yi smiled, then sighed. “Your sister and sister-in-law are so busy; we haven’t had a chance to meet in such a long time.”
“Yeah, I wonder how they’re doing lately.”
“But since you’re friends, why don’t you just invite them out to talk directly?”
Shi Yi nudged Aubrey with her elbow and said softly to Tao Yu: “There’s something you don’t know. Before she went abroad, she had a fight with Yu Li. She was hoping to use this fashion show to make up with her.”
Tao Yu’s eyes darted around. Yu Li can make millions in just two days? If I can help her make that kind of money, not only will my sister be happy, but I might get a little kickback too.
Thinking this, Tao Yu smiled. “Maybe I can help you with this. I happen to have an appointment to eat with them tonight. They’ll be here in a bit. Why don’t we join up when they arrive?”
“Really? They’ll be here soon?” Aubrey’s eyes lit up. Tao Yu wasn’t sure if it was her imagination, but she thought the woman’s gaze looked a bit scary for a second.
But the woman definitely had Yu Li’s number—her private number at that. If they weren’t friends, how else could she have it?
“Yeah… right,” Tao Yu tapped her fingers together. “If you guys successfully make the deal, can I get a little cut? I don’t want much, even a few hundred is fine.”
Aubrey gave a chilling smile. “Of course. But your sister just got married and is always clinging to Yu Li, refusing to let her go abroad. In a bit, you’ll have to find a way for Yu Li to come talk to me alone.”
Aubrey put her arm around Tao Yu’s shoulder and led her toward the reserved room.
She had originally intended to kidnap Tao Yu when she left school to extort Yu Li, but she found that Tao Yu was an Alpha—young and vigorous. If they actually fought, she and Shi Yi combined might not be a match.
Since Tao Yu told them Yu Li and Tao Ran were arriving soon, it was better to just target the two of them directly…
Twenty minutes later, Yu Li and Tao Ran walked into the restaurant wearing sunglasses and masks. After giving the room number to the receptionist, they were led to room 2602. Tao Yu was waiting for them obediently.
“Sister-in-law, Sis, you’re here.”
“You haven’t ordered yet?” Tao Ran asked, seeing the table empty.
“Before we eat, I have a surprise for my sister-in-law.” Tao Yu grinned at Yu Li.
Yu Li pulled out a chair for Tao Ran and took off her coat to drape it over the back. “What surprise does the little girl have for me?”
“It’s no fun if I just say it. Go to room 2610 at the end of the corridor and take a look. I guarantee a surprise.” Tao Yu blinked mysteriously.
“Let’s go then. Let’s see what kind of tricks this girl is playing on us.” Tao Ran started to stand up, but Tao Yu stopped her.
“Sis, you can’t go. Sister-in-law has to go alone.”
Tao Yu tugged at Tao Ran’s arm, acting spoiled to make her stay. Yu Li had no choice but to walk toward room 2610 alone.
The door was slightly ajar. Yu Li pushed it open and stepped inside, only for a club to swing toward her head. She dodged to the side, but that was exactly what the person behind the door was waiting for. They swung a club and struck her squarely on the gland at the back of her neck.
A surge of agonizing pain erupted from her neck. Yu Li staggered, clutching her gland, and barely managed to steady herself against a chair.
“You… you guys…”
The second before she lost consciousness, she saw Shi Yi and Aubrey closing the door and walking toward her step by step.
Yu Li was knocked out on the floor. Aubrey tossed the club aside and gave her leg a hard kick.
“Yu Li’s physical stats are as trash as always.”
“She won’t wake up, will she?” Shi Yi also threw her club down, asking in a panic.
“Don’t worry about it. Yu Li is different from a normal Alpha—she’s not that strong physically, her gland is extremely sensitive, and her pain response is very high. Fine, do what you have to do.”
Shi Yi nodded and began frantically removing her own clothes.
“Hurry up and take Yu Li’s clothes off too. It’s best to take a few photos while holding her. Once I bring some passersby over, you start crying loudly—as miserable as possible. Say she almost assaulted you. If she still tries to deny it, prepare a long post on Weibo to accuse her. I don’t believe she won’t cough up a few million for that,” Aubrey said, crossing her arms.
Public opinion can make a person, but it can also destroy them.
“I understand. What about Tao Ran…?”
“She’s quite fragrant; I’ve wanted to play with her for a long time.” Aubrey lit a cigarette and took a deep drag. “Once you’ve handled Yu Li, I’ll handle Tao Ran. Having two big stars paying us for the rest of our lives… we’ll never have to worry about food or drink again.”
“But Tao Yu is also an Alpha.”
Aubrey snorted with disdain. “You think I can’t handle one little brat?”
Meanwhile, Tao Ran stared at the message she had sent to Yu Li earlier, which remained unanswered.
“What’s taking her so long?”
“Don’t be in a hurry. When old friends meet, they always have to exchange a few words.”
“Old friends?” Tao Ran stood up in alarm. “What old friends?”
Tao Yu chuckled. “Actually, I ran into a couple earlier; they’re friends of Yu Li. They just got back from abroad and wanted to talk to her about a business deal worth millions. So I just did them a favor.”
“What multi-million-yuan business? Something’s wrong,” Tao Ran murmured. “I’m going to find her.”
The moment she finished speaking, Aubrey pushed the door open and snapped her fingers at the two of them.
“Surprise! Miss Tao Ran, remember me?” The door slammed shut with a thud.
Tao Ran’s face turned deathly pale.
“You… how are you here…?”
“You’ll have to ask your dear sister. If it weren’t for her help, we wouldn’t have been able to meet you so smoothly.” Aubrey gave a hollow smile. “Tao Yu, thank you very much.”
Tao Yu finally realized something was wrong. She stood up and stepped in front of Tao Ran. “Who the hell are you…?”
Before she could finish, Tao Yu felt a sharp, agonizing pain in her stomach. She grabbed a chair and doubled over.
“Tao Yu, what’s wrong?” Tao Ran asked, supporting her.
“My stomach… damn it…” Tao Yu clutched her abdomen, remembering the drink she’d taken while chatting with them earlier. “What did you give me to drink?”
Aubrey smiled playfully and took out her phone. “I don’t have time to chit-chat with you two. Tao Ran, take your clothes off yourself. I won’t make things difficult for you.”
“What do you want?!” Tao Ran backed away step by step, her hand behind her back. In her panic, her fingers closed around a glass wine cup on the table.
“Just want to take a few photos of you, nothing more.” Aubrey pondered for a moment and let out a low laugh.
“The kind without clothes on—just so you and Yu Li won’t try to back out later.”
