After Pretending to Be an Alpha, I Was Exposed by My Rival - Chapter 5
“Zhou Yijue, you need to go to the hospital right now.”
Lu Chizhou held Zhou Yijue’s face and rubbed it a few times, trying to wake him up.
“I’m not going to the hospital… I feel bad.”
“If you feel bad, that’s exactly why you should go. Be good—I’ll take you there right now.”
Lu Chizhou drove, and less than two kilometers later, a strong mint scent suddenly rushed into his nose. He jerked the steering wheel and pulled the car over to the roadside.
“Zhou Yijue, do you smell that fresh mint scent? It’s really strong… like an Omega in heat out on the street…”
He turned to look at Zhou Yijue—and immediately swallowed the rest of his sentence.
That mint scent… why does it feel like it’s coming from Zhou Yijue?
No, that can’t be right.
The second-strongest Alpha freshman at Lycaman Academy… is actually an Omega?
If that got out, the people who had been beaten into the ground by Zhou Yijue would probably question their entire lives.
Cold sweat broke out all over Zhou Yijue’s body. The sweat carried out traces of alcohol, briefly clearing his mind.
He noticed Lu Chizhou beside him—who had also sensed the mint scent—and bit his lip hard until it bled, using the pain to force himself into greater clarity.
“Lu Chizhou, if you dare expose my secret, I’ll haunt you even after I die.”
He suddenly grabbed Lu Chizhou’s collar and pulled him close, glaring fiercely into his eyes, trying to intimidate him like he always did.
“You’re an Omega?” Lu Chizhou finally snapped back to reality after a long pause.
“If your Alpha dog nose still works, then you should already know what I am,” Zhou Yijue said coldly, leaning back in the seat. His back was soaked with sweat, sticky and uncomfortable.
His gaze turned even colder. If he weren’t barely able to move, he would’ve torn Lu Chizhou apart already.
“Zhou Yijue…”
“Don’t come closer.”
Lu Chizhou hesitated, about to check his condition, but was immediately stopped by a sharp warning.
He backed off slightly and raised his hands in surrender. “You’re sweating a lot. Let me help you wipe it.”
He handed him a box of tissues from the car.
The small space inside the car was quickly filled with the faint mint scent…
Lu Chizhou began to feel uneasy too. His eyes turned slightly red as he gripped the steering wheel tightly, trying to prevent himself from doing anything impulsive.
“I should still take you to the hospital,” he said. “I can’t let you stay like this, and I can’t stay in the same car with you either.”
He was a normal Alpha. Facing someone he already had feelings for—and whose scent was this intoxicating—his self-control would eventually collapse. Before that happened, he had to solve this properly.
“No… not the hospital… bite… bite my gland… temporary mark…”
A temporary mark wasn’t the same as a permanent one. It could create dependence on the marking Alpha’s scent, and during the next heat cycle, the Omega might become more unstable—but it was still one of the best ways to get through heat.
Zhou Yijue had already studied Omega physiology extensively after realizing what he was.
He had always suppressed his heat with inhibitors—but this time, for reasons unknown, the suppressant had failed.
Thank goodness it didn’t happen in the bar… otherwise the consequences would’ve been unthinkable.
An Omega in heat trapped in a bar full of Alphas… the outcome was obvious.
Reluctantly, he had to admit—he owed Lu Chizhou a favor this time.
Just as both of them were reaching the edge of losing control to instinct, Lu Chizhou suddenly grabbed the back of Zhou Yijue’s head and pulled him toward his shoulder, then lowered his head and bit into the soft gland at his neck.
“Mm…”
Zhou Yijue trembled. His body went weak almost instantly, like all his bones had melted away.
Soon after, darkness washed over him, and he lost consciousness.
Because he had been suppressing his heat with inhibitors for so long, this cycle drained him completely. Once the temporary marking calmed him down, his body relaxed and he fainted.
Lu Chizhou didn’t dare roll down the windows, afraid the lingering mint scent would attract other Alphas. He forced himself to endure it inside the car.
Only after the scent gradually faded did he finally start driving again.
The next morning.
Zhou Yijue’s thick eyelashes trembled slightly before he slowly opened his eyes.
The first thing he saw was a face he disliked intensely.
Thinking he was still dreaming, his body reacted faster than his brain—before he even realized it, his fist had already swung out.
Bang—!
Lu Chizhou held a hot boiled egg to his eye, looking at him pitifully from across the dining table as he ate breakfast calmly.
Lu Chizhou: “Last night we…”
“Don’t you dare say ‘we’!” Zhou Yijue instantly bristled.
“Alright, alright,” Lu Chizhou quickly corrected himself. “Last night you suddenly went into heat, I gave you a temporary mark, and you fainted. I didn’t know where you lived, so I brought you home. But don’t worry—I didn’t take advantage of you.”
He tapped his chest solemnly, as if declaring his innocence as a righteous Alpha.
Zhou Yijue knew his body was fine. He understood his own condition clearly.
But he was still extremely unhappy.
Why did it have to be Lu Chizhou?
He already couldn’t beat him—and now he knew his biggest secret.
That made him feel like he had lost even more ground.
“Say it. What do you want?” Zhou Yijue said coldly. “You can use my secret to threaten me. I won’t refuse anything—but you must promise not to tell anyone I’m an Omega.”
He closed his eyes stubbornly, waiting for judgment.
No matter the cost, he couldn’t let his identity be exposed. He needed to stay in the mecha department, and only as an “Alpha” could he do that.
In this world, Omegas were destined to be dependents of Alphas—meant only for reproduction. The more children they had, the more they were praised.
“Tch.”
He scoffed, eyes cold.
“Even if I die, rot outside, and turn into dust—I will never give birth to a single child for any damn Alpha.”
“You really hate Alphas that much?” Lu Chizhou said. “Even so, you still pretended to be one.”
“If I had a choice, do you think I’d do this?” Zhou Yijue snorted.
He put down his bowl and crossed his arms, waiting.
“Are you sure you’ll agree to anything?”
“As long as it’s not illegal.”
“Alright. I agree. I won’t tell anyone your secret,” Lu Chizhou said.
“Then what’s your condition?” Zhou Yijue frowned.
“I haven’t thought of it yet. I’ll tell you when I do.”
Lu Chizhou smiled.
A smile that made Zhou Yijue want to punch him in the other eye.
