After Signing a Marking Agreement with the Abstinent Omega - Chapter 17
“You’re awake.” Xie Queyou calmly straightened up and revealed a perfectly appropriate smile.
In reality, her heart was about to leap out of her chest.
Taking advantage of someone being unconscious to sneak into their room and peek at them sleeping.
That was perverted!
Everything had happened too suddenly. Xie Queyou could not even explain herself. She blinked with a pair of innocent eyes, attempting to muddle through.
Yun Wangqing propped herself up and sat up in bed, leaning against the pillow. Her hand tugged the quilt over her chest, revealing a large expanse of porcelain-white skin.
Xie Queyou hurriedly looked away as if burned and swallowed.
“How do you feel now? Are you still uncomfortable?”
With one sentence, she pulled the memories back to last night. Yun Wangqing’s clear gaze paused.
“I’m all right.”
“Your medicine was very effective.” She pressed her lips together. “It’s thanks to you being here.”
A tremendous sense of honor rose in Xie Queyou. She straightened her back.
“We signed an agreement. This is my duty.”
The previous topic was turned over. Xie Queyou looked at the clock in the room. “Keep resting. Auntie isn’t here, so I’ll go make breakfast.”
Yun Wangqing looked at her suspiciously. “You know how to cook?”
Why did her tone sound so doubtful?
Xie Queyou scratched her head. “I can’t say it’ll be especially delicious, but I can at least make something like porridge.”
She turned to leave, then suddenly remembered something very important.
“Right, who moved me to the guest room yesterday and helped me change clothes?”
She remembered fainting in the bedroom. When she woke up, she had specifically checked her clothes. It was not just the outer sleepwear; even her inner clothes and underwear had been changed.
If Yun Wangqing had changed them for her, that would be too embarrassing.
Following her words, Yun Wangqing’s gaze swept over her clothes, then quickly moved away. When she spoke, for some reason, there was a trace of awkwardness in her voice.
“Auntie was here last night. She helped.”
Xie Queyou did not think much of it. “Oh, oh. Then I’ll go make breakfast.”
She pushed open the door and left happily.
Yun Wangqing looked at the room that had returned to silence and let out a relieved sigh.
The back of her neck was sore and swollen from being over-marked. Her whole body felt as if every blocked acupoint had been opened. She had never felt so relaxed before.
If she felt carefully, she could still sense Xie Queyou’s lime flowing through the pathways of her body, nourishing her fragile body and gland.
The faint pheromones in the room flowed slowly. They no longer held the madness and intimacy from last night, instead carrying a soothing meaning. Just smelling them made her feel especially at ease.
The sticky feeling on her body after sweating was somewhat uncomfortable. Yun Wangqing wanted to get out of bed, but the moment she moved her legs, she was suddenly chilled by the already cooled dampness.
She froze abruptly and lowered her head. By the time she reacted, the tips of her ears were already completely red.
Last night’s marking with Xie Queyou had actually brought her body to this extent.
—
Xie Queyou had not lied. When she had first started working, in order to save money, she had forced herself to learn how to cook in her rented apartment.
Although her cooking skills could only be considered “not deadly,” making a simple breakfast was still easy.
Steam bubbled and gurgled. Just as she was about to serve the porridge, she heard a click from the master bedroom door.
Yun Wangqing happened to come out too.
She had changed into an extremely simple plain white silk slip nightdress. The hem covered her calves and swayed slightly with the movement of her legs as she walked.
Within the clear, cold cedar pheromones of the Omega, there was also lime carrying the scent of the Alpha, spreading through the room.
It was a pleasing sight.
Her freshly bathed skin was dazzlingly white, and because of this, the few deep red kiss marks on her collarbone stood out even more.
They clearly announced Xie Queyou’s many crimes from last night.
The hand Xie Queyou used to hold the bowl trembled slightly, and she guiltily looked away.
“Um, breakfast is ready. Tremella and lotus seed porridge. Try it and see if it suits your taste.” She gave a dry laugh and walked over with the bowl, her eyes drifting.
Yun Wangqing pulled out a dining chair and sat down. The porridge looked quite good. It seemed the Alpha did have some cooking skills after all.
Wisps of steam rose from the hot porridge. In Yun Wangqing’s mind flashed an old gossip article about the Xie family from long ago.
Xie Family’s Second Young Lady Personally Cooks to Please Girlfriend, Nearly Blows Up Kitchen.
At the time, she had only thought it was a wealthy-family embarrassment people talked about after meals. Even Yun Wangqing had not been able to help curving her lips when she saw it, feeling that young people’s love was very pure.
But now, looking at this bowl of porridge, Yun Wangqing’s fingertips unconsciously rubbed against the tabletop. A faint, sour itch suddenly rose uncontrollably in her heart.
So afterward, Xie Queyou had not given up. For her girlfriend, she had truly practiced her cooking seriously.
Yun Wangqing lowered her lashes slightly, hiding the complicated emotion that flashed through her dark eyes. The corner of her mouth curved into a very faint, unreadable arc.
Xie Queyou had already been looking at her expectantly. Seeing that smile, an ominous intuition suddenly rose in her heart, and she felt something was strange.
Could the porridge have burned?!
She quickly leaned over and sniffed.
It wasn’t burned.
“Do you not like tremella and lotus seed porridge?”
Xie Queyou spoke carefully, testing.
Yun Wangqing raised her head. The darkness in her eyes faded, and she returned to her usual calm. “No. You were thoughtful.”
She was praised. Nice! A faint light lit up in Xie Queyou’s eyes.
Then she heard Yun Wangqing continue, “However, I’m not hungry right now.”
The curve of Xie Queyou’s mouth visibly collapsed. “Oh.” Even her eyes drooped with a bit of hurt.
Yun Wangqing took in her dejected appearance. She found it amusing, but at the same time, a bit of pity rose in her.
An Omega who had been marked would indeed become more sentimental because of an Alpha’s behavior.
She had actually been affected too.
“You eat first. I’ll go tidy some things up. We’ll talk in a bit.”
Yun Wangqing stood up, and as if guided by some impulse, she reached out and rubbed Xie Queyou’s fluffy head.
The movement was very light, touching and parting in an instant. If one did not feel carefully, one would not even know someone had touched them just now.
Xie Queyou: !
Even after Yun Wangqing’s back disappeared into the bedroom, Xie Queyou remained frozen in place, holding the bowl. The sensation left on her head lingered for a long time.
Did Yun Wangqing just touch me? Why did she touch me?
Xie Queyou boldly thought that perhaps Yun Wangqing had seen her disappointment just now, so she was comforting her.
Even she was frightened by her own thought. Xie Queyou copied Yun Wangqing’s action and touched her own hair.
It felt very good. Yun Wangqing probably liked it a lot.
Holding the bowl, Xie Queyou could not help curving her lips.
Her stomach let out an untimely protest. Xie Queyou therefore gave up thinking. She did not waste anything and, with a sweep of her hand, ate both portions of breakfast.
After tidying up the dishwasher and returning to the living room, Yun Wangqing had already changed into a comfortable posture on the sofa.
She was holding the kitten in her arms and lowering her head, patiently feeding it a cat treat.
The early morning sunlight poured in through the huge floor-to-ceiling windows. Yun Wangqing’s cold face was coated with a hazy layer of light. With her lowered eyes and faint smile, she looked like an oil painting from the Middle Ages.
Xie Queyou could not bear to disturb this quiet scene. She moved softly to the sofa opposite and sat obediently.
After Yun Wangqing finished feeding the kitten, Xie Queyou could not help leaning forward and touching the kitten’s head, just as Yun Wangqing had rubbed hers earlier. “What’s its name?”
Yun Wangqing raised her head and looked at her. The tenderness in her eyes for the kitten had not yet faded, and it crashed straight into Xie Queyou’s gaze.
Xie Queyou felt as if she had fallen into a warm lake, her heart surging.
“Xiao Yu,” Yun Wangqing answered.
“Xiao Yu…”
Xie Queyou carefully savored those two words in her mouth. A kitten named Little Fish. She smiled. “What a cute name.”
She called Xiao Yu once. The long-haired calico that had been curled in Yun Wangqing’s arms glanced at her and meowed in response.
Yun Wangqing let the kitten go play. She withdrew her smile, crossed her legs, straightened her back, and returned to her most common sitting posture.
Seeing this, Xie Queyou could not help straightening her back as well, sitting upright as if ready to listen carefully.
Seeing her so nervous, Yun Wangqing curved her lips slightly. She was not in a hurry to bring up the marking. Her red lips bent.
“It was only when I looked in the mirror just now that I saw exactly what you did last night.”
Xie Queyou looked at her in confusion. After seeing the kiss marks on her collarbone, she immediately understood what she meant, and her cheeks instantly turned red.
She immediately lowered her head, her apology very sincere. “I’m sorry. I was too impulsive last night.”
Mainly because Yun Wangqing’s collarbone was truly very red. Even Xie Queyou herself did not know how much force she had used last night to make it like that.
On top of that, Yun Wangqing’s skin was already fair, so that red mark looked almost purplish, making it even more shocking. No wonder Yun Wangqing had come to settle accounts with her afterward.
Xie Queyou lowered her head and did not dare look at her. Suddenly, the woman’s very soft laughter sounded in the room.
She raised her head and met Yun Wangqing’s eyes, which revealed a hint of success. Only then did she realize that Yun Wangqing was taking revenge for her not being obedient yesterday.
Xie Queyou froze. This was the first time she had seen Yun Wangqing like this.
After getting a response from Xie Queyou that satisfied her, Yun Wangqing no longer lingered on it and began speaking about serious matters.
“I woke up once in the middle of the night yesterday. Lin Wumo came to draw blood and run tests.”
Yun Wangqing spoke steadily. Looking at Xie Queyou sitting properly, her tone softened a little.
“The treatment was very successful. You did very well last night.”
It was not only the success shown in the report. Around an hour had passed since she woke up until now, and Yun Wangqing’s gland remained quiet.
Aside from the soreness and numbness left after last night’s incident, her gland had barely shown any pain. Occasionally, it released a bit of pheromone that mingled with the faint lime in the air.
This was an outcome Yun Wangqing had never dared imagine during her previous heats.
The thing she had longed for during countless days and nights of torment had actually appeared after a single marking.
Although it would only last for a while, and after the pheromones in her body metabolized in a few hours, her body would return to its original state, this was already enough to make Yun Wangqing feel joyful.
“Your pheromones are very useful,” she said sincerely, looking at Xie Queyou.
In truth, Yun Wangqing did not say everything.
She had not woken naturally last night. After her gland had been injected with high-concentration Alpha pheromones, although her consciousness had been hazy, she could still vaguely distinguish some sounds.
In her daze, she had heard someone exclaim. When she opened her eyes, she saw the Alpha who had over-released pheromones to soothe her and collapsed from exhaustion onto the carpet.
In that instant, her heart felt as if it had been fiercely stung by something.
She wanted to tell the auntie helping Xie Queyou leave to stop, but her throat was so hoarse that she could not make a sound.
Lin Wumo came in and extracted some of her blood, told her to rest assured, then left.
And under the soothing effect of the thick pheromones in the room, she slowly fell asleep again in the midst of worry. Even in her dreams, she could not help thinking about that unconscious Alpha.
Coming back to herself, Yun Wangqing unconsciously gripped the coffee table and talked about the test results the doctor had sent after she woke.
“There are still some of your pheromones left in my body. The fusion between the two was very successful and can temporarily suppress fluctuations for a while.”
Xie Queyou was quite happy listening to her say this. Didn’t this mean her first treatment had been very successful?
The smile at the corner of her mouth could not be suppressed. Her happiness was impossible to hide. “As long as I could help you.”
The lively Xie Queyou in front of her suddenly overlapped in Yun Wangqing’s eyes with the Xie Queyou who had fainted last night.
Her fingers unconsciously clenched the edge of the sofa, and a bit of guilt appeared in her eyes.
“I’m sorry. The date we agreed on was clearly today, but because my heat came early, I troubled you to rush over in the middle of the night.”
“It wasn’t trouble, not trouble at all.” Xie Queyou shook her head like a rattle drum. “It’s written in the agreement too. Whenever you need me, I’ll be there.”
Xie Queyou continued, “And Dr. Lin also reminded me that your pheromones will still fluctuate frequently these two days. I’ll do my best to stay by your side without leaving.”
Hearing her words, Yun Wangqing froze slightly. “You’re not going to work?”
Xie Queyou blinked in confusion, only belatedly remembering that today seemed to be a workday.
Her mind had only been focused on marking, and she had thrown work to the farthest corner of the sky.
She pondered for a moment, then a light bulb went on in her head. “It’s fine. I can still work online. I don’t have much work these few days.”
The drama script had already been revised, the team had already been found, and the filming location had also been chosen. Now all that was left was casting. When the time came, she could just hold a video meeting and choose actors remotely.
She did not hesitate for even a second. All her plans, all her backup options, were arranged with Yun Wangqing in mind. She had not thought about herself at all.
Whether it was because her sense of responsibility was too strong or because she was bound by the agreement and forced to carry it out, Yun Wangqing had no intention of distinguishing. But Xie Queyou’s attitude pleased her very well.
While Xie Queyou lowered her head and searched for her phone, Yun Wangqing picked up the glass of water in front of her and used the rim of the cup to hide the small curve at the corner of her lips that she could not suppress no matter what.
She stood up. “Then come here for a moment.”
Not knowing what she wanted to do, Xie Queyou still obediently followed her to the door.
Yun Wangqing pressed a few times on the password lock and motioned for her to place her hand on it. “Enter your fingerprint.”
“Judging by my previous heat cycles, you’ll need to come here for at least three more days. Entering your fingerprint will make it convenient for you to come in at any time.”
Moved by her thoughtfulness, Xie Queyou entered her fingerprint, her emotions surging. “Won’t you be here too?”
Yun Wangqing said, “I’m not always here.”
Xie Queyou’s hand on the password lock paused, and her smile stiffened. “What?”
“I still have work to handle, so I won’t stay at home all the time. You also won’t always be here with me. If you come and I’m not here, entering your fingerprint will prevent you from being locked outside.”
Xie Queyou was about to shatter.
The companionship she had imagined was the two of them staying at home together all the time, inseparable like two throw pillows, waiting for the heat and rut to pass together.
But Yun Wangqing’s idea of companionship was clearly not what she had understood.
It seemed like Yun Wangqing only needed her to come over at night, give her enough pheromones, and then leave in the morning.
She really was treating her like a bed partner.
No, she had woken up in the guest room and had not even slept in the same bed as Yun Wangqing.
So she was not even a bed partner. QAQ
Xie Queyou wanted to cry but had no tears. The more she thought about it, the more she realized she was nothing.
