After Transmigrated as the Movie Star's Omega - Chapter 14
Shen Baibi took a sip of water and didn’t rise to Xia Ran’s provocation, but Xia Ran had no intention of letting him off. With a mischievous grin, he pressed on: “Well? Is it true?”
His eyes were curved like crescents, filled with a sly triumph, as if scoring a few verbal points meant he had gained the upper hand.
Shen Baibi glanced at him and gave a light huff. “Nonsense.”
Xia Ran was dead set on contradicting him and immediately retorted, “How is it nonsense? Look, the ‘me’ of this world had to buy all these little toys; it’s clearly because you can’t satisfy him!”
After making his bold claim, he tossed the small gadget back into the box and pulled out a rod-shaped object, evaluating it with a serious air: “Hey, Shen Baibi, all jokes aside, these things are actually made quite well.”
Hearing this, Shen Baibi’s expression instantly became very complicated. “Quite well? In what way?”
Xia Ran smiled smugly, gesturing with the rod. “Let an experienced driver like me teach you. Look at this length and girth; they’re excellent. The texture feels quite realistic, too. And this part at the front—whoa!”
As he spoke, he must have touched a button because the rod suddenly began to vibrate violently. The abrupt, intense vibration startled Xia Ran, making him let out a series of yelps. “AAHHH! Why did it start shaking all of a sudden?!”
“How-how-how do I turn it off?! AHH! It’s vibrating harder…”
Gone was his previous composure. Xia Ran was now in a panicked state, fumbling with the rod until it eventually flew right out of his hands.
It landed right next to Shen Baibi.
The scene was incredibly awkward.
Shen Baibi looked at the mortified Xia Ran, then picked up the object and switched it off.
The vibration stopped.
The silence was even more awkward.
Shen Baibi gave a half-smile. “An ‘experienced driver’?”
Xia Ran raised a hand to brush back his bangs, clearing his throat as he explained, “Uh, this is a bit different from the ones I’ve… researched before, so I didn’t quite know how to use it…”
“You’ve researched these?” Shen Baibi raised an eyebrow.
Xia Ran answered vaguely, “Uh… yeah.”
Seeing the usually overbearing guy now looking so weak, Shen Baibi felt a sense of novelty and decided to tease him. With the corner of his mouth slightly upturned, he asked, “And… how exactly did you ‘research’ them?”
His voice was intentionally lowered, carrying a blurred hint of laughter that sent an ambiguous message through the air. Even though he didn’t finish the sentence, anyone would know what those unspoken words implied.
With his mind still buzzing from the intense vibration, Xia Ran jumped up to argue without thinking: “I didn’t mean it like that—”
His voice was accompanied by the sound of items hitting the floor. Because he stood up too quickly, the box resting on his knees slid off, scattering a colorful array of props across the ground.
Shen Baibi finally saw the other items in the box. A quick scan revealed handcuffs, clamps, candles, lubricant, and various other odd-looking gadgets he couldn’t name. There was even an outfit—what looked like a dress, thin, sheer, and trimmed with lace.
Though he couldn’t see the whole dress, Shen Baibi’s intuition told him it would suit Xia Ran perfectly. After all, the boy had very fair skin, was strikingly handsome, and had a slim waist and long legs. He would likely look very good in it.
If those things were used on him…
Xia Ran suddenly felt the gaze landing on him turn scorching, and he couldn’t help but shrink back.
“Ahem!” Shen Baibi coughed and turned his head away, issuing a command: “Hurry up and pick them up. It’s an offense against public decency!”
If it had been any other time, Xia Ran would have snapped back at that bossy attitude. But right now, he was incredibly obedient, squatting down to right the box and stuffing those unsightly things back inside.
While he had only glanced at them before, now his fingers were actually touching these props. Xia Ran couldn’t help but imagine their uses, and his cheeks began to burn uncontrollably. He tried his best to shake off these inappropriate thoughts, but the more he tried to ignore them, the deeper they took root.
He could only speed up his tidying.
He scooped everything up in one go and shoved it back into the box. Once everything in his sight was gone, he immediately shut the lid, stood up with the box in his arms, and said, “I’m out of your sight then. I’m going to rest!”
Even in this situation, he refused to admit defeat verbally.
Shen Baibi looked up, only to see Xia Ran’s stumbling retreat and his bright red ears.
Pulling his gaze back, Shen Baibi looked elsewhere.
The next second, his eyes sharpened, resting on a spot by his feet.
Something had been left behind.
Shen Baibi leaned down and picked it up. It was the same silicone gadget Xia Ran had first held in his hand…
The silicone felt alright to the touch, but its specific purpose made it feel a bit awkward.
Shen Baibi stared at the object in his palm for a while. Then, acting on some inexplicable impulse, he tucked it away.
Xia Ran returned to his room clutching the box. He threw it down as soon as he closed the door and crossed his arms, fuming.
He had wanted to act cool in front of Shen Baibi, but look at him now—not only did he fail to look cool, he completely lost face. It was all the fault of that stupid thing vibrating for no reason!
The more he thought about it, the angrier he got. He kicked the box, which tipped over, causing the contents to spill out again.
Seeing those messy little toys again, Xia Ran wanted to stomp on them. He held himself back, though, frustratedly ruffling his hair. “So annoying!”
If he hadn’t transmigrated into this “gay-ish” world, he wouldn’t have ended up in this position, forced to play a loving couple with Shen Baibi!
This was his fifth day here. Although Jiang Shen said he had a strong ability to adapt, only Xia Ran knew the truth: it wasn’t that he was good at adapting, it was that the fast-paced development of events didn’t allow him to slow down. One thing happened after another, each requiring his absolute best performance. He simply didn’t have time to think about anything else.
But that didn’t mean he didn’t have other thoughts.
Waking up and immediately having that happen with Shen Baibi had left him in a state of shock and shame. After finally clarifying the situation, he was rushed into a magazine shoot, followed by the induced heat incident in the lounge, nearly leading to something irreversible. How could he not have thoughts about all that?
Confusion, fear, panic, shyness, dissatisfaction, embarrassment—a myriad of emotions were tangled in his heart.
But he could only suppress them all. He knew that no matter how much he thought about it, he couldn’t change the facts of what had already happened. As for what was to come, he could only do his best to cooperate—even if the person he had to cooperate with was Shen Baibi.
After a long while, he shook his head, clearing his mind of stray thoughts. He knelt down to pick up the items and stuff them back in. Once finished, he looked at the overstuffed box with another headache.
How should he deal with this?
He couldn’t just throw it away, but keeping it made him feel uneasy. It was a real dilemma.
After staring at the box for ages, Xia Ran sighed. He’d just have to find a place to hide it for now.
But where?
He walked over to the wardrobe, but as soon as he pulled the door open, he saw it was packed with clothes. There wasn’t a single gap large enough for the box.
The wardrobe was out. Xia Ran turned his gaze to the space under the bed.
After pushing the box under the bed, Xia Ran looked up and saw the medicine bottle on the nightstand. This was the suppressant Jiang Shen had given him; the instructions said to take it once every three days.
Xia Ran mused. Today was a scheduled day.
He was supposed to take it before leaving the house, but just as he pulled the bottle out, Jiang Shen’s “life-threatening” chain of calls started, and he had rushed out the door.
So here was the question: did he actually take the medicine or not?
Crap, I can’t remember!
Xia Ran tapped his forehead, trying to force the memory, but that segment of his mind was missing. He couldn’t be sure. It felt like he might have taken it, but it also felt like he hadn’t.
If he wasn’t sure, should he take another one?
He quickly rejected that idea. The stuff tasted horrible—bitter, astringent, and hard to swallow. Taking it was pure suffering, and he heard taking too much wasn’t good for you.
Xia Ran gripped the bottle, thinking: Since I can’t remember…
…That means I took it!
