After Transmigrating as a Scum Alpha, I Marked my White Moonlight Omega - Chapter 25
Dammit, Lin Yu actually hasn’t contacted her for three whole days!
Three days!
Even though Jiang Nan had a general guess that Lin Yu and Song Mo hadn’t actually hooked up, still… after those misleading things Lin Yu said before, shouldn’t she have come over to apologize first?!
To say something so easily misunderstood in that kind of setting, and then follow it up with that self-righteous “What does it have to do with you, Jiang Nan, whether I do it or not”… Even if Lin Yu really came to apologize, Jiang Nan would still have to consider whether or not to forgive her!
After all, she had liked Lin Yu sincerely for so long; how could Lin Yu be so… cold and ruthless? Wuwu.
Fine, she was just that pathetic—secretly grieving here, yet not daring to call Lin Yu and give her a piece of her mind.
Jiang Nan sat in the living room of the rental apartment, staring at the lit screen of her phone on the low table, which displayed the words “Wife Lin Yu” in her contacts.
…Shutting her up alone in this rental, not even letting her step out. For three days, her food and drink were brought in by those stone-faced bodyguards who would just turn and leave without saying a single word.
Radiating resentment, Jiang Nan looked at the front door not far away. The more she thought about it, the more unsettled she felt. Finally, she walked to the door, raising her hand to try and burst out of this prison-like apartment.
Just as she shoved the door open, she looked up to see Lin Yu standing right there at the entrance, staring at her expressionlessly.
Jiang Nan froze instantly. The person she had been dying to contact for three days had appeared right in front of her.
But, was it because they hadn’t seen each other in three days? Why did Lin Yu look… so beautiful today?
Beautiful… my ass! Wake up, Love-Brain Jiang Nan!
Jiang Nan frowned, hiding her emotions, and asked bluntly: “Why are you here? And what are you doing here?”
Lin Yu lowered her eyes slightly. Her clothes had returned to her usual dark colors. Standing in the unlit hallway, she seemed to blend into the night.
The dim, warm yellow light from inside the room softened her face significantly. Perhaps she had just been through something; her hair was a bit messy, and she radiated a thick chill from the winter night, along with a faint scent of blood.
Her voice was raspy as she spoke slowly: “Are you still angry?”
Jiang Nan’s expression froze, and she stood there in shock. “…What?”
Lin Yu’s eyes remained cast down, as if she didn’t have the courage to look the person in front of her in the eye. She spoke flatly: “Do you still not want to see me?”
Jiang Nan said nothing, standing there with her lips pressed tight.
Lin Yu’s brow furrowed slightly, her expression revealing the desolation of someone being abandoned. “Do you… not want to see me ever again?”
Hearing this, Jiang Nan’s pupils trembled. she stared blankly at Lin Yu, having absolutely not expected her to say such things today.
Lin Yu stood at the door. Seeing that Jiang Nan remained silent, a flash of troubled confusion crossed her eyes. She continued to speak to herself: “Actually, after that day, I’ve been thinking.”
“…To be honest, even now, I’m not entirely sure which part made you so angry?”
Jiang Nan’s heart had already softened by half because of Lin Yu’s face and that pitiful expression, but this sentence pushed her emotions right over the edge.
She couldn’t control her volume, her face full of displeasure: “What?!”
So, for the past three days, she had been the only one here grieving in secret?
Suddenly, she realized she couldn’t understand what was going on in Lin Yu’s head at all.
Lin Yu turned her face away, as if unwilling to see Jiang Nan’s angry expression. A trace of gloom flickered in her eyes as she continued: “Sorry. Maybe the more I say, the angrier you’ll get.”
“But, Jiang Nan, can you forgive me this once? I don’t want to part ways with you.”
This was the first time Jiang Nan had heard such a formal apology from Lin Yu. Her cheeks turned slightly red, and she pressed a hand to her forehead with a headache, her heart struggling.
“Ha, seriously… you don’t even know why I’m angry, yet you’re standing here apologizing to me?”
Lin Yu still kept her eyes down, looking worlds apart from the sharp, cutting image of a gang leader. Perhaps because the lighting was exceptionally soft, or perhaps because the deep night made emotions swell and dissipate, a nameless bitterness arose between them.
“Because… I need you. So, I can promise that I will never say those things to you again, and it’s impossible for me to go looking for another Alpha.”
Hearing this, Jiang Nan’s emotions flared uncontrollably. Thinking about what could have happened between Lin Yu and Song Mo, she shouted: “Isn’t that common sense?! Who sleeps with two people at the same time?”
Lin Yu’s hands at her sides curled slightly. She explained in a flat voice: “My point is, you don’t need to doubt my… feelings for you.”
Jiang Nan froze for a moment, but she still argued stubbornly: “Feelings? What feelings? Didn’t you say that there is absolutely nothing between us?”
“That aside from the physical relationship of sex for divine power, we are nothing.”
Lin Yu stood at the door. Perhaps it was the warm indoor air blowing against her cheeks, but she let out a hollow sigh. “Although it’s hard to explain with words, aside from you, I don’t want anyone else.”
“…And only you can make me fall into this kind of distress.”
Lin Yu was telling the truth. If she had encountered a similar annoyance in the past, she would have solved it with violence, rather than standing at a doorstep in the freezing winter night to apologize like this.
Jiang Nan’s heart suddenly began to thud wildly. Her anger had mostly dissipated, but she clearly knew that Lin Yu’s words didn’t necessarily mean she “liked” her. It was just that Lin Yu believed their pheromone compatibility was extremely high, allowing for perfect marking to achieve their respective goals.
The level of pleasure they gave each other surpassed what anyone else could provide; hence the attachment, hence… the refusal to let go.
Thinking about her three days of “emo” moping, Jiang Nan frowned aggrievedly. She glanced at Lin Yu’s face and asked in a weak voice: “Then why didn’t you contact me once these past few days?”
“If you didn’t want to end things, you should have explained or tried to keep me immediately, or said sorry. At least you should have said something…”
Lin Yu finally looked up, staring straight at Jiang Nan, and reflexively asked back: “Didn’t you say that day that you never wanted to see me again? You even told me not to come looking for you anymore.”
Jiang Nan: “…!”
Uh, it seems… that did actually happen.
After Lin Yu said those things that day, Jiang Nan had stormed back into the rental in a fit of rage and started babbling nonsense about drawing a line between them.
Then, before Lin Yu could even respond, she had slammed the door shut. By the time she finally calmed down and wanted to go out for some air, she was informed by the two “double-door refrigerator” bodyguards outside that she wasn’t allowed to go anywhere.
…But wait, even if she did say that, why did Lin Yu have to listen to her so obediently?
Isn’t she the Boss of the Black Gang? Doesn’t she look down on everyone?
Why did she have to take those words so literally!
Seeing Jiang Nan go silent again, Lin Yu thought she had said something wrong again. Her eyes lowered as she explained:
“You said you didn’t want to be in contact with me anymore, but I still came to find you today… I’m sorry.”
“If you really don’t want to see me, do you need me to leave now?”
Jiang Nan was shocked by these words. She had finally gotten to see her after so much effort; how could she let her leave?
She frowned at Lin Yu, her face showing sparks of irritability and unease, as she instinctively barked: “Shit, leave? Where the hell are you going?!”
Lin Yu finally breathed a sigh of relief. She looked up at Jiang Nan and asked directly: “Then, have you forgiven me?”
Jiang Nan, like a ruffled wild cat, hurriedly and frantically denied it: “No!”
Seeing this, a glint flashed in Lin Yu’s eyes, but she bowed her head with feigned disappointment. “Then I’d better leave…”
Jiang Nan: This is crazy… she’s going to…
Jiang Nan was so frustrated by Lin Yu’s act that she bit her lip. She lunged forward and grabbed Lin Yu’s wrist, her tone frantic and unusually harsh: “Get in here! Also, why are your hands so cold! You’re wearing so little—aren’t you afraid of freezing to death out there?!”
Lin Yu’s whole body lunged forward as she was pulled into the room by Jiang Nan. The warm air instantly enveloped her. She froze for a second, looking at the other’s actions and expression. “I just… left in a bit of a hurry.”
Jiang Nan released her wrist, turned her head to look her up and down, and pouted in retort: “Liar. You smell like blood.”
Lin Yu looked down at her black trench coat. There were indeed some fine splatters of blood on the cuffs; they had already oxidized into a dark brown, making them hard to see, but the metallic scent clung stubbornly.
She slowly looked up to see Jiang Nan scowling, her eyes averted as if she were unwilling to look at her.
For some reason, Lin Yu’s heart hated it when Jiang Nan ignored her like this. She stepped forward and suddenly hugged Jiang Nan from behind.
She felt Jiang Nan’s body stiffen. The scent of Photinia leaves at the crook of her neck made Lin Yu tighten her grip. “Jiang Nan, I’m tired.”
Jiang Nan couldn’t break free from the strength of someone like Lin Yu who handled weapons every day. Refusing to give in, she turned her head like a ruffled bird, her face red as she shouted: “Who—who said you could hug me!”
Hearing this, Lin Yu reluctantly loosened her hold. She looked down, her face showing disappointment as she said: “Okay…”
Jiang Nan: Shit, what the hell! There’s no need to play foul like this.
This made her feel like a “Scum Alpha” who was making a scene and being unreasonable by trying to draw a line… But why did Lin Yu look so terrible? Why were her dark circles so heavy? It looked like she hadn’t slept for days.
“Fine, let’s go.”
“Where?”
“What else? When you’re tired, you go to sleep!”
