After Transmigrating as a Scum Alpha, I Marked my White Moonlight Omega - Chapter 26
Jiang Nan pulled Lin Yu into the bedroom, raising an eyebrow as she observed her expression. Softening her tone slightly, she couldn’t help but ask, “You… haven’t rested well these past few days?”
Lin Yu nodded faintly, blinked, and answered truthfully, “My stomach has been a bit uncomfortable, so I haven’t been able to sleep much.”
Hearing this, Jiang Nan frowned with displeasure. Sour bubbles of guilt and worry rose in her heart as she recalled how Lin Yu had suffered a stomach ailment back at the villa due to her own negligence.
“Your stomach? Why is it acting up again?”
Was it because the words I said that day were too heartless? Why would her stomach suddenly act up… what on earth is going on.
Jiang Nan irritably took Lin Yu’s hand and pressed her down onto the edge of the bed. “Just lie down.”
Sitting on the bed, Lin Yu gazed up at Jiang Nan, as if trying to read the emotions hidden within her eyes. “Are you letting me sleep here today?”
Jiang Nan pressed a hand to her forehead, explaining in a weary voice, “Of course. This is your house, after all.”
Saying this made her feel a bit embarrassed; a tang of bitterness rose in her chest, as if she were the one who had unfairly kicked the owner of the house out in the first place.
Lin Yu persisted, asking, “Have you forgiven me?”
Jiang Nan’s face flushed at the question, and she hastily denied it. “Of—of course not! I only let you lie down out of the kindness of my heart because you look like you’re about to faint!”
Lin Yu obediently began to take off her clothes. Beneath her outerwear, she wore only a black, form-fitting inner garment that perfectly traced the soft curves of her chest and the line of her waist.
Jiang Nan’s face turned bright red instantly. She awkwardly looked away, remembering they were still supposed to be in a “cold war.” She cleared her throat uncomfortably. “I just changed the sheets. You’ve got blood on you—don’t you want to change before you sleep?”
Seeing Jiang Nan looking elsewhere, Lin Yu hid a small smile and calmly proceeded to remove her final layer of clothing.
Jiang Nan stole a glance in Lin Yu’s direction and immediately stumbled back several steps in a panic, her voice nearly cracking. “Wait! Can’t you wait until I bring you some clothes before you strip?!”
What is wrong with Lin Yu today? This is far too out of character…
Lin Yu stood there expressionlessly, raising an eyebrow in confusion, yet her tone remained innocent. “But we’ve already seen everything there is to see… Is there a problem?”
Jiang Nan frowned, her face burning. She turned to pull a set of pajamas from the wardrobe and hurriedly thrust them toward Lin Yu. “That may be true, but… it’s still not right.”
Lin Yu took them and, without any hesitation, unfastened the cloth wrapping her chest. Those two soft mounds appeared before Jiang Nan’s eyes in a flash before Lin Yu quickly slipped into the pajamas Jiang Nan had provided.
Jiang Nan: …This is foul play! Who acts like this during a cold war!
No, no, no. I haven’t decided to forgive her yet!
But, truth be told… she’s so beautiful. They must feel amazing to touch, wuwu.
After dressing, Lin Yu lay down obediently in the bed and pulled up the covers. Her soft black hair spread across the pillow as she stared deeply at Jiang Nan, who remained standing by the bedside.
Lin Yu’s gaze made Jiang Nan’s heart itch. She couldn’t help but ask back, “Didn’t you say you were tired? Why aren’t you sleeping? Why do you keep staring at me…”
Lin Yu parted her lips slightly and looked at Jiang Nan intently. Her tone was flat, as if she were mentioning something perfectly ordinary. “Can’t I sleep while holding you?”
Jiang Nan froze at these words, but her lips soon twitched. She pulled off her knit cardigan, her tone inevitably carrying a hint of complaint. “Ha, you really… in a situation like this, you’re still thinking about doing that.”
It was no wonder Lin Yu had come to apologize so out of character today. It was likely because the investigation had stalled or she simply needed to satisfy a physical urge.
Otherwise, why would Lin Yu do something that went so heavily against her proud ego?
Lin Yu realized Jiang Nan had misunderstood. Just as Jiang Nan stripped down to a single layer and pounced toward her, Lin Yu reached out to press against her chest, trying to explain. “You’ve misunderstood. I simply wanted to hold you.”
This was the truth. More than sex, what she craved after three days of frantic work was just a hug, and to have the comforting scent of Photinia leaves lingering in her breath.
Jiang Nan assumed Lin Yu was playing hard to get at such a critical moment. She frowned with displeasure, seemingly annoyed by Lin Yu’s style of starting and stopping whenever she pleased.
Why should she be the one to sincerely and passionately accept Lin Yu’s coldness time and again, compromising and tolerating her dominance in everything, only to be the one nearly abandoned in the end?
She pressed her lips fiercely against Lin Yu’s softness, reaching out to pull aside the obstructing fabric. This drew a slight tremor and uncontrollable panting from the woman beneath her.
Jiang Nan licked her lips. She looked up and noticed Lin Yu’s cheeks were already flushed crimson; she seemed to be falling deep into the sensation. Her eyelashes fluttered, and the rise and fall of her chest seemed like an invitation.
“…Lin Yu, don’t you like this? Why pretend you don’t? Why can’t you just be honest?”
She hated Lin Yu’s stubbornness, her hypocrisy, and her cold avoidance every time she was questioned about her feelings.
Having said her piece, and without waiting for a response, Jiang Nan—as a form of brief retaliation—fiercely sealed Lin Yu’s lips again. The ambiguous, wet sounds of their tongues tangling soon filled the bedroom, and their intense pheromones overlapped.
By the time they pulled apart, Lin Yu’s eyes were misty and unfocused. Gasping for air, she still managed to respond, “Jiang Nan, I really can’t hold out… I really want to sleep.”
Jiang Nan saw that after saying this, Lin Yu slowly closed her eyes, and her breathing began to steady.
She pulled Lin Yu into her arms and gave a punitive, gentle bite to the back of her neck, drawing a faint whimper from the sleeping woman. Yet, she couldn’t bring herself to further disturb the beautiful dream her wife hadn’t enjoyed in days.
Jiang Nan reined in the lust that had been ready to erupt. She let out a very soft sigh and pressed her nose into Lin Yu’s hair, taking a deep breath. Her heart had already melted into a pool of spring water; she no longer had the strength to sustain this cold war.
Tsk, I really don’t know if Lin Yu is even aware of these feelings.
But… since Lin Yu had apologized like this, it was impossible for her to continue acting cold and angry.
Besides, nothing substantial had actually happened between Lin Yu and Song Mo; those were just images she had guessed based on the plot.
At this thought, Jiang Nan looked down at the person sleeping in her arms. A surge of self-reproachful irritability rose in her heart. She tightened her grip on Lin Yu’s waist and kissed her forehead gently, murmuring in a tiny voice as if speaking only to herself.
“…What am I supposed to do with you?”
When Lin Yu woke up, she found herself in the rental apartment bed. Jiang Nan, who should have been holding her, was not by her side. She frowned, recalling what had happened the night before.
Thankfully, Jiang Nan didn’t hate her.
She admitted that what she had said that day was a bit much, but Jiang Nan’s long-held title of “Scum Alpha” made her unwilling to admit where her heart truly belonged.
But for three whole days—when she thought she would just put Jiang Nan out of her mind while she was busy cleaning up her rivals—Jiang Nan’s smiling puppy eyes would pop into her head from time to time.
It was madness. Absolute madness.
Her rut had already passed, so why was she still so desperate to see Jiang Nan? Why was her head filled with Jiang Nan’s shadow? Why did she constantly want to know what Jiang Nan was doing in the apartment?
Was Jiang Nan missing her as intensely as she was missing her?
Lin Yu straightened her clothes and walked out of bed in her slippers. As she stepped out of the room, she saw Jiang Nan in the kitchen, frantically boiling a pot of plain congee. Jiang Nan looked very focused, seemingly unaware of the movement behind her.
It wasn’t until Lin Yu walked over and made a noise while picking up a glass of water that Jiang Nan turned her head to look at the source of the sound.
“Why aren’t you sleeping longer? Didn’t you say your stomach was uncomfortable?”
Lin Yu looked away, uncomfortably taking a sip of water. “It’s much better now.”
Seeing that Lin Yu’s complexion was indeed better than the night before, with a healthy flush on her cheeks, Jiang Nan breathed a sigh of relief. “I cooked some congee. Have some.”
Lin Yu watched Jiang Nan carry a pot of steaming congee out of the kitchen. She stayed where she was, looking up at Jiang Nan and asking in a flat voice, “Have you forgiven me?”
Jiang Nan’s face turned scarlet at the question. She set the bowls and chopsticks on the table. “I… I guess so.”
Upon hearing this, a hint of a smile flashed across Lin Yu’s lips. She sat down at the table with relief, blinked, and said seriously, “I will compensate you.”
Hearing this, Jiang Nan’s brow furrowed slightly. Her hand holding the chopsticks paused. She asked back with a feigned tightness in her voice, “Compensate me with what?”
In truth, her anger had vanished last night. That was why she had felt bad for Lin Yu’s lack of sleep and specifically cooked the stomach-warming congee.
As for compensation, she hadn’t really thought about it… though if it were possible, having Lin Yu actually like her would probably be the best compensation of all.
Lin Yu looked up at Jiang Nan. She didn’t rush to take the bowl being handed to her. She pondered for a moment, building up her courage.
Then, she gazed deeply at Jiang Nan across from her. Her voice carried a slight hesitation, her tone betraying the awkwardness of someone making their first proactive invitation.
“Didn’t you say you liked me? Then… let’s go on a date.”
“We can go anywhere you want, as long as you’re willing.”
