After Transmigrating as a Scum Omega, I Had a Happy Ending with My Ex-Wife [Entertainment Circle] - Chapter 18
【Holy crap, I don’t even know who to pity anymore.】
【I mean, yes, Su Hua is using Film Queen Fu’s private studio, but these people shouldn’t curse like that. Did they forget there are cameras in there, and they’re turned on?】
【Heavens, that wave of hostility was suffocating.】
【I actually breathed a sigh of relief when Film Queen Fu and Teacher Manxuan showed up.】
【I think the little darling said it best—even if they hadn’t come, Su Hua could have handled it.】
【I’m siding with Su Hua on this one. When she was surrounded and cursed at, she didn’t panic at all. Her mental fortitude is seriously strong.】
【Hmm… a comment from the little darling caught my interest: “Just like back on the set.” The only set they worked on together was The Favored Concubine’s Mischief. So, did something happen there?】
【Su Hua was exposed for acting like a diva on that set.】
【You guys up there, stop trying to whitewash her. Some things are set in stone; no amount of scrubbing will make her clean.】
【Exactly. She relied on Fengsheng Entertainment’s backing to bully Ren Wenhang, and he even ended up in the hospital.】
【Su Hua, get out of the industry! No whitewashing allowed!】
The bullet-chat was a chaotic mix of opinions.
It wasn’t until midnight that Su Hua confirmed Lou Kexin had finally mastered all the breakdown movements. At this point, Kexin was sprawled on the floor like a pancake, refusing to get up for anything.
Su Hua wiped her sweat with a towel and said, “Go back, wash up, and sleep. I’ll wake you at five.”
“Ah?” Kexin let out a wail. “Five o’clock? That’s so early!”
“I was going to say four, but I was afraid your body couldn’t take it,” Su Hua replied. “Time is tight. We need to string the movements together, and we haven’t even practiced the vocals. Once the song is ready, we have to coordinate it with the dance.”
Hearing this, Kexin grew nervous again. She scrambled up immediately and said, “Sister Su Hua, let’s wake up at four. It’s fine. I’m young; I can handle it.”
Su Hua didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. She patted her head. “Five. I’ll call you then.”
By the time she returned to her dorm, her teammates were already back, showered, and chatting in their pajamas. When she entered, the room went noticeably quiet. Su Hua took her change of clothes to the bathroom. The hot water from the shower immediately soothed her aching muscles.
When she came out, most of the lights were off, save for one near her bed. Her roommates were already asleep. She considered using the hairdryer but decided against it; she patted her hair with a dry towel and fell asleep with it still damp.
Su Hua knocked on Lou Kexin’s door the next morning. Kexin struggled to haul herself out of bed. After a full day of practice, every muscle in her body was screaming. She walked with a twisted expression, her legs aching, biting her lip with a tearful face. “Sister Su Hua…”
Fearing they would wake the others, Su Hua quietly closed the door and supported her as they walked to the practice room. Once there, Su Hua gave her a quick massage, which made Kexin feel slightly better.
“Warm up first. We’ll start after.”
【??? This early?】
【Damn, they’re really going all out.】
There were many people “AFK” in the livestream room; the active viewers were fewer than during the day, so the chat was slower. Even so, they were stunned to see Su Hua and Kexin up so early.
Su Hua led Kexin through the breakdown movements twice before starting the full sequence. Though Kexin was familiar with the steps, she occasionally forgot them when stringing them together. Su Hua tirelessly taught her over and over.
Gradually, voices filled the corridors as other trainees woke up. Inside the private studio, Su Hua sang while dancing to help Kexin find the rhythm. Kexin hummed along, and by the end of the day, even without dedicated vocal practice, she had learned most of it, and her dancing was becoming fluid.
“Thank you, Sister Su Hua,” Kexin cooed, hugging Su Hua’s arm.
Su Hua pushed her head away with feigned disgust, though her face was full of smiles. “Get away from me.”
“I won’t!” Kexin clung to her even harder.
“What are you doing?” Fu Mo’s voice came from behind. She was holding a cup.
It was a crystal glass. Su Hua saw goji berries soaking in the water and felt a sudden urge to laugh. She did. “Good evening, Teacher Fu.”
“Hello, Teacher Fu,” Kexin said, instantly releasing Su Hua and standing as straight as a soldier, as if she were facing a headmaster.
“Mhm.” Fu Mo looked at them—specifically at the smile on Su Hua’s lips—and ignored it. As she turned to go upstairs, she dropped a line: “Rest early.”
Once she was out of sight, Su Hua burst into laughter. Kexin looked at her, bewildered.
“Go back to the dorm. No more practice today.” Su Hua’s face was alight with amusement. On the walk back, the more she thought about it, the more she laughed. How can Film Queen Fu live like an old cadre? She’s so young, yet she’s already started “wellness” maintenance (goji berries).
Putting her glass on the table, Fu Mo grabbed her clothes to shower. Passing the desk, she looked at the goji berries and thought of the way the girl had smiled when she saw the glass. She frowned slightly.
On the third day, when Su Hua and Kexin went to the studio, other trainees were already up. It was the final day, and everyone was getting serious. Today’s task was simple: singing and dancing simultaneously.
Su Hua stopped leading the dance and instead supervised Kexin, pointing out every mistake. “This song is bright and youthful. You need to show a cheerful, lively expression. No long faces allowed.”
“Oh,” Kexin nodded, rubbing her sore arm.
Su Hua caught the movement. “Still hurts?”
“It’s much better, actually,” Kexin said. “Yesterday was the real pain.”
After midnight, everyone was summoned to the broadcast hall. There were tiered bleachers facing a large stage. Trainees filed in and sat with their respective classes. Su Hua had returned to the Class B room that afternoon to practice the routine a dozen more times.
Li Han, sitting next to her, gave her an awkward glance. Li Han hadn’t practiced well; she had followed Su Hua for a few moves on the first day and spent the rest of the time stumbling along after other trainees.
Only through comparison did she realize Su Hua was truly talented. That afternoon, when Su Hua returned to the room and danced the routine over and over, everyone in the room had involuntarily followed her lead. Li Han could feel her own clunky movements becoming smoother because of Su Hua’s repetitive, perfect demonstrations.
After hesitating for a long time, Li Han poked Su Hua’s arm with a finger and retracted her hand instantly. Su Hua looked at her.
Li Han’s ears turned beet red. After fumbling for a while, she whispered, “Thank you.”
“Mhm?” Su Hua looked at her, confused.
Li Han wanted to say more, but the mentors arrived, and she shut her mouth, unsure whether to be frustrated or relieved.
“The five classes will perform simultaneously shortly,” Fu Mo announced. “The results of this performance will determine your new rankings.”
The trainees grew tense, friends clutching each other’s hands for support. Fu Mo didn’t waste time and told them to prepare. One trainee from each class would come forward to perform; mentors would score them based on the real-time camera feeds.
As the music started, the mentors discussed the performances in a small control room.
“Her body is too stiff.”
“Is she a bit off-key?”
When the second batch came up, Tan Xue laughed. “She’s dancing with too much force, it’s actually scaring me.”
Cui Manxuan smiled. “She’s probably just too nervous.”
In the third batch, Lou Kexin walked out. After taking her position, she glanced toward Class B.
Cui Manxuan noted, “This trainee has no dance foundation but is decent at singing. Su Hua has been training her privately these past few days. Let’s see how she does.”
“I heard about that too,” Jiao Kai leaned in. “Teacher Fu even gave up her private studio for them?”
Fu Mo replied, “I just didn’t happen to need it.”
Jiao Kai started stirring the pot again. “Is it because you didn’t need it, or because she’s your ex-wife?”
Fu Mo frowned at him.
Cui Manxuan clicked her tongue, her expression turning sour. “Jiao Kai, once or twice is fine, but why are you doing this every single time? Not everyone can take your jokes.”
“Is that so?” Jiao Kai shrugged. “Then consider it unsaid.”
Xu Xiyi and Tan Xue were uncomfortable and didn’t dare speak. The tension in the small room was thick, making the director exceptionally alert. This is a major selling point!
He opened the livestream on his phone and laughed at the rolling comments. Friction between trainees was great, but friction between mentors was even better. The audience was bound to love this combination of the troublemaker Jiao Kai, the stoic Film Queen Fu, and the short-tempered Cui Manxuan.
The small room fell into a heavy silence as the third batch of trainees began their performance.
