After Transmigrating as a Scum Omega, I Had a Happy Ending with My Ex-Wife [Entertainment Circle] - Chapter 4
When Su Hua woke up, she saw a message from Xiao Dong saying that Sister Qing had already resolved the situation online.
She smiled and sent a voice note back: “Got it. Please thank Sister Qing for me.”
Xiao Dong happened to be right next to An Lanqing. When she played the message, the girl’s voice came through, sounding full of vitality.
An Lanqing rubbed the dark circles under her eyes, unsure whether to feel melancholy or relieved. She only hoped her efforts would be worth it.
For the next two days, Su Hua reported to the company punctually, heading to the dance studio and the vocal department.
The girls in the dance studio forced stiff smiles when they saw her, and their leader, Lin Xiaohan, nodded a greeting.
Su Hua was no saint. She only spared them a single glance before heading to a corner to practice on her own.
If no one provokes me, I won’t provoke them. That had been her life’s motto for years.
Since Sister Qing had handled the trending search, she naturally wouldn’t stir up more trouble. As for the girl who took the photo and misled the public, she didn’t plan on forgiving her, either.
However, she wouldn’t go out of her way to seek revenge. She didn’t have the time; her time was for working.
Two days passed in the blink of an eye, and the day for the Dreamy Youth trainees to report for duty finally arrived.
The company sent a luxury van. Even though Su Hua was an eighteenth-tier artist, the boss behind the scenes didn’t permit her equipment to be eighteenth-tier quality.
On the first day of reporting, An Lanqing, her manager, personally escorted her.
Inside the van, An Lanqing emphasized repeatedly, “Behave yourself while filming. There are cameras everywhere. You can’t speak or act as impulsively as you did before. If you truly want to work hard, drop those old habits.”
“Mhm.” Su Hua nodded obediently.
“You’ll have to hand over your phone, and your personal items will be kept in storage. Don’t you dare try to hide anything under their noses,” An Lanqing said, covering everything she could think of.
Su Hua nodded. “Don’t worry, Sister Qing. I know what I’m doing.”
If you really knew what you were doing, I wouldn’t be aging so fast.
An Lanqing thought for a moment and then said hesitantly, “Among the mentors, there’s your…”
“My ex-wife, I know,” Su Hua interrupted. “We’re already divorced. I’ll make sure to keep my distance.”
“Good that you know.” An Lanqing wanted to let out a sigh of relief, but the breath stayed caught in her throat. She simply couldn’t stop worrying.
The car reached the destination. Su Hua opened the door and said as she stepped out, “Sister Qing, don’t worry.”
That sentence makes me worry even more. An Lanqing watched her walk into the entrance before sighing and looking away.
Xiao Dong said, “Sister Qing, I feel like Sister Su Su has changed a lot this time. I believe in her.”
An Lanqing looked at the little assistant, couldn’t help but light a cigarette, and took a drag. Exhaling a cloud of smoke, she said, “I hope so.”
As Su Hua entered the hall, she saw a large group of girls gathered. Suitcases were piled up as they chatted in small groups. When someone walked in, they all looked over—and then their expressions froze in shock.
Su Hua smiled and greeted them, “Hello, everyone.”
Most of the girls turned their heads away, pretending not to see her. The disgust on their faces was palpable; it was clear just how much they disliked Su Hua.
Just then, a girl ran out from the crowd. She stopped before Su Hua, not quite daring to get too close, and stuttered for a while before saying, “Sister Su Hua.”
Su Hua looked at her. The girl had a high ponytail, a small face, and a dimple when she smiled. Her hands were nervously clutching the hem of her shirt.
“You are…?” Su Hua couldn’t find her in the original owner’s memories, but based on her demeanor, she seemed to know her. Could she be a fan?
“I-I’m Lou Kexin. We were in a production together once—The Favored Concubine’s Mischief. I played the maid, Xiao Ling.” The girl stared at her with wide, slightly red eyes, looking quite aggrieved.
With that hint, Su Hua remembered. It wasn’t from the original owner’s memories, but from having watched the only two “trashy” dramas the original owner had filmed. She had played Consort Shisan Li, and Xiao Ling was her personal maid.
“Oh, it’s Xiao Xin! We haven’t seen each other in over a year. How have you been lately?” Su Hua quickly changed the subject.
Lou Kexin was easily led away by the topic, no longer dwelling on the fact that Su Hua hadn’t recognized her.
The two chatted as they walked toward an empty spot in the corner.
As she pushed her luggage over, Su Hua saw the trainees from her own company, including Lin Xiaohan. They acted as if she were invisible, turning away to chat with other trainees they knew.
The corners of Su Hua’s mouth twitched upward slightly, and she looked away without much concern.
A moment later, two more people appeared at the entrance, and the entire hall immediately erupted.
“Ahhh! Han Sixi! Wen Yutong!”
“It’s actually Han Sixi and Wen Yutong!”
“They actually came too.”
“Heavens, is this season going to be a battle of the gods?”
“Who are those two?” Su Hua asked Lou Kexin.
The girl’s eyes were glowing with excitement. If there weren’t so many people around, Su Hua felt the girl might have charged forward.
“It’s Han Sixi and Wen Yutong! They’ve already released songs and dance videos. They’re incredibly popular… Ah, what do I do? There’s no hope for me in this show now.” By the end of her sentence, Lou Kexin looked completely deflated.
“They’ve already debuted?” Su Hua was a bit surprised.
Lou Kexin nodded.
Though surprised at first, Su Hua quickly understood why their company had sent them. Survival shows were either for increasing exposure or for facilitating a career transition.
She didn’t dwell on it.
Soon, everyone had arrived. Staff members instructed them to line up by company to enter the stage area. Luggage was left in the hall to be guarded by staff.
Lou Kexin was also with her company members. Seeing Su Hua alone, she asked curiously, “Sister Su Hua, are you the only one from your company?”
“No, we’re just entering separately.” Su Hua didn’t say much.
Lou Kexin didn’t have time to linger; her teammates were calling her.
“Xiao Xin, why were you with Su Hua?”
“Yeah, don’t you know what people are saying about her online?”
Lou Kexin tried to defend her: “You guys don’t understand her, she’s very nice.”
“Alright, alright, let’s just go.” Her teammates clearly didn’t want to hear her praise Su Hua.
Su Hua rubbed her nose. Rather than fighting for a spot, she stood at the very back of the line.
The girls in front of her felt like she was a virus, nervously crowding forward to get away. When a teammate was about to complain about the crowding, they saw Su Hua behind them and silently shuffled forward as well.
Being so directly shunned, Su Hua took a step back to give them space.
The girl in front glanced back. Seeing her standing so far away, she felt a brief pang of guilt—but then she remembered how “terrible” Su Hua was, and she suppressed that feeling immediately.
