After Transmigrating as a Scum Omega, I Had a Happy Ending with My Ex-Wife [Entertainment Circle] - Chapter 5
The trainees entered the stage group by group, according to their agencies. Some companies sent seven or eight girls, some only two, and there were also several individual trainees.
Everyone clustered together in their respective cliques; even the individual trainees seemed to know one another privately, gathering to chat.
Standing alone amidst the crowd, Su Hua looked particularly out of place.
She, however, didn’t seem to mind. She didn’t let the boredom of waiting make her look sluggish; instead, she stood tall and straight, her gaze focused on the girls ahead. She listened to them laugh and watched their expectant eyes. Occasionally, when she saw a girl smile, a hint of a smile would play on her own lips.
In the control room, the mentors of Dreamy Youth were gathered. Even the special guest—the show’s “Producer” and initiator, Fu Mo—was present.
One of the mentors teased, “Fu Mo, isn’t that your… ex-wife?”
The remark was clearly intended to stir the pot, but the target was Fu Mo. The latter neither grew annoyed nor denied it; she simply nodded seriously. “Yes.”
Failing to get a rise out of her, the mentor rubbed his nose sheepishly.
Another mentor laughed and said, “Teacher Jiao, Teacher Fu doesn’t understand the subtext of your words.” She then winked at Fu Mo, teasing her, “Am I right, Teacher Fu?”
Fu Mo’s brow furrowed as she began to seriously analyze the meaning behind their words.
Seeing her expression, the female mentor burst into laughter. “Teacher Fu, my mistake. I shouldn’t tease you.”
A third mentor quickly stepped in to move things along. “Teacher Fu, the trainees have finished entering. We should head out too.”
Business came first. Fu Mo stopped dwelling on the previous question and stood up. “After you, teachers.”
“After you, Teacher Fu.”
The mentors exchanged pleasantries and filed out of the control room.
Following the staff’s directions, Su Hua walked through a long corridor glittering with lights and entered the performance hall.
Perhaps because of the cameras, the trainees who had been cold or disgusted in the lobby were now clapping or smiling in welcome. Though the warmth was sparse, it was better than a silent room, which would have been incredibly awkward.
The production crew actually hoped for such drama, but among so many young girls, there were always a few clever ones who wouldn’t give the show the chance to manufacture a scandal.
Among the crowd, only one person was truly, sincerely welcoming Su Hua.
Lou Kexin stood up and waved happily. “Sister Su Hua~!”
The girl was so enthusiastic that her voice echoed throughout the hall. Only after she finished shouting did she realize how many people were around; blushing, she sat back down and buried her face in her teammate’s back.
Su Hua couldn’t help but chuckle at the sequence of reactions.
The hall was divided into two sections: one half was the stage, and the other was a pyramid of one hundred chairs. The higher the seat, the stronger the trainee’s perceived strength.
At this point, the top and middle tiers were mostly taken. The only seat left was the very last one on the bottom right, labeled with the number “100”—the seat for the last-place contestant.
Countless eyes fell on Su Hua. Many trainees here had followed the “tea” surrounding her: acting like a diva on set, slapping her former assistant, getting into street brawls… the list was endless. Her scandals alone could fill a book.
Consequently, most of the trainees wore expressions of people waiting to see a joke.
Unfortunately for them, Su Hua disappointed them. She sat down in the 100th-place seat with perfect composure.
The girls sitting next to her were likely from the same company, as their outfits were uniform and clearly custom-made for the show. The girl sitting directly adjacent to her looked visibly awkward, her smile a bit forced.
However, there was no time for them to dwell on it. The lights in the hall dimmed, then the pyramid section lit up, followed by a single spotlight on the stage. Soon, more lights flared as a man stood in the center of the stage with backup dancers behind him.
“Ahhh! It’s Teacher Xu Xiyi!”
“Teacher Xu Xiyi, I love you~!”
The trainees screamed with excitement. Their joy wasn’t for show; it was entirely heartfelt.
Su Hua had been so busy sorting through the original owner’s memories that she hadn’t had time to study the current state of the entertainment industry. Thus, Xu Xiyi was a stranger to her, but that didn’t stop her from appreciating his singing.
His voice was beautiful, and his high notes were stunning. She clapped along as she watched the elegant, refined man.
As the last note faded, the lights shifted. Tan Xue, dressed in a pink jumpsuit, gave the crowd a cute “finger gun” pose. The music started—a cute song with adorable choreography that set the hall on fire.
“Ahhh, Xuehua!”
“Xuehua is so cute~!”
“I’m in love~!”
The trainees were instantly captivated by Tan Xue’s charm.
After Tan Xue finished, the lights shifted again, the music pumped up, and an explosive dance routine began.
“Ahhh! It’s Jiao Kai!”
“Teacher Jiao Kai~!”
When the dance ended, a beautiful, soft melody began to play.
“It’s Manxuan.”
“Teacher Manxuan is here too.”
The powerful lineup of mentors moved the young girls to tears of happiness.
Su Hua saw the girl next to her actually crying. She reached into her pocket and handed her a tissue. The girl took it and wiped her eyes before looking at Su Hua with a mix of confusion and panic.
Su Hua didn’t look back at her; instead, she focused on the mentors in front. The girl stared conflictedly at the tissue in her hand before clenching it tight, her expression complex.
Jiao Kai was the most enthusiastic of the mentors. Looking at the hundred girls, he laughed and greeted them, “Hello, girls!”
“Hello, Teacher!” the trainees replied in unison.
Cui Manxuan smiled. “I think you’ve all seen the official announcement.” At this point, she said mysteriously, “And you all know who the Producer of this show is, right?”
“Fu Mo!”
“Film Queen Fu!”
The girls scrambled to shout out the name.
The atmosphere was perfect. Cui Manxuan didn’t waste any more time. She looked toward the entrance, microphone in hand, and shouted, “Please welcome the Producer of Dreamy Youth: FU! MO!”
Lights flashed, music swelled, and the mentors took their seats. Under the glare of the spotlights, Fu Mo’s silhouette appeared in everyone’s view.
This was the first time Su Hua had seen her in reality. Beautiful, dignified, and especially those eyes—bright, piercing, and incredibly focused when looking at someone.
“Hello, trainees. I am the Producer of Dreamy Youth, Fu Mo.” The woman greeted them with total seriousness.
The hall erupted in cheers. Everyone there was a fan of Fu Mo. Putting aside her legendary filmography, her looks alone were enough to obsess over.
Fu Mo looked at the group and continued earnestly, “Congratulations on standing out in the preliminary auditions. From here on, you will face three months of trainee life.”
The girls slowly quieted down to listen.
Fu Mo scanned them. “Among you, some have already debuted, and some have released albums…”
The trainees instinctively looked toward Han Sixi and Wen Yutong, knowing exactly who she was referring to.
“Here, all those achievements and backgrounds will be reset to zero,” Fu Mo stated.
Su Hua watched the woman, finding herself inexplicably drawn to her. It was as if she were a natural focal point; she didn’t need to do anything—her mere presence forced everyone to look at her.
“And three months from now, out of one hundred girls, only ten will successfully graduate.”
The atmosphere turned somber. The smiles vanished, replaced by a tangible sense of pressure.
Fu Mo continued, “And you will officially debut as the girl group of Dreamy Youth.”
The trainees clapped and nodded, their hearts racing with hope for those ten spots.
Su Hua felt her blood begin to boil with excitement.
The camera crew recorded the expressions of every girl, focusing especially on those with high buzz—particularly Su Hua. Recent scandals had kept her at the top of the trending lists.
The director already sensed that when the first episode aired and viewers saw Su Hua on a survival show, it would cause an absolute storm of discussion.
Furthermore, with the Producer being Fu Mo—appearing on a variety show for the first time—the drama was off the charts. The divorce between these two had crashed Weibo just a while ago. Now, their first post-divorce appearance was in the same show. This level of buzz was enough to make the director laugh in his sleep.
