After Transmigrating as a Scum Omega, I Had a Happy Ending with My Ex-Wife [Entertainment Circle] - Chapter 6
After the opening remarks concluded, it was time for the trainees’ initial evaluations.
The assessment was divided into five levels: A, B, C, D, and F. A represented strong performance or excellent comprehensive ability, while F was a “pending” grade, implying a possibility for improvement but also the risk of immediate elimination—a very dangerous position to be in. The other grades were distributed in between.
Fu Mo looked at the trainees and said, “The evaluation performances will begin with the contestant in the first seat. Following contestants, please be prepared.”
As soon as she spoke, the girls grew nervous. This was especially true for the girl in the first seat; she had chosen it randomly upon entering, not realizing that her choice directly determined the performance order. But since she was already seated, she had to brace herself and head up regardless of her nerves.
The called trainees left the pyramid to prepare backstage.
Fu Mo took her seat in the center of the mentor panel. She was quite close to the girls in the first row, but Su Hua, sitting at the far end of the row, was a bit far from the center. From her angle, it was difficult to see Fu Mo clearly; she could mostly only see Teacher Tan Xue on the edge.
Soon, the first group was ready.
Fu Mo: “Please welcome the first group, Liang Ya and her teammates.”
Four girls came up, all from the same company. Being the first to perform made them inevitably nervous, but they had trained together for a long time. They exchanged looks, calmed down quickly, and began.
Fu Mo: “Are you ready?”
The four girls nodded: “We’re ready.”
Fu Mo: “Then, begin your performance.”
The music started, and the girls sang and danced. When they finished, they struck a final pose. The trainees on the pyramid applauded. The mentors scored the four girls and handed their notes to Fu Mo, who calculated a comprehensive score.
Fu Mo announced the results: Liang Ya received a C, while the other three received F. The girls bowed, went backstage to collect their grade stickers, and returned to the hall.
Evaluating the groups went by relatively quickly, with each set taking only a few minutes. In the first few groups, only one A had appeared; most were B, C, D, or F.
Fu Mo: “Please welcome the next group, Lin Xiaohan and teammates from Fengsheng Entertainment.”
Upon hearing this, not only were the trainees curious, but even the mentors looked intrigued. Eyes drifted subtly toward the girl sitting in the very last seat of the first row.
Su Hua naturally noticed the stares, but she remained composed, acting as if she hadn’t noticed a thing.
“Isn’t Su Hua from Fengsheng Entertainment too? Why isn’t she with them?”
“They must not get along.”
“Besides, isn’t Su Hua tone-deaf and uncoordinated? If she performed with her company’s trainees, she’d definitely drag them down.”
“I’ve heard of Lin Xiaohan; her dance foundation is great. Even our company’s dance teacher mentioned her.”
“Then it’s even more reason not to bring Su Hua. Otherwise, no matter how good the dancing is, Su Hua would ruin it.”
The mentors were also whispering among themselves, having clearly heard the rumors about Su Hua’s notorious reputation in the industry.
Soon, Lin Xiaohan and her teammates came out, and the gossip stopped.
“Hello, teachers, we are Fengsheng Entertainment’s…” Lin Xiaohan started the introduction.
“…Sweet Girls!” they said in unison.
Cui Manxuan smiled. “Based on the name, have you prepared a sweet song?”
“Yes,” Lin Xiaohan replied with a smile. “We’ve prepared for a long time.”
Fu Mo: “Begin your performance.”
They immediately struck a pose. It was the dance Teacher Liu had taught Su Hua back at the company. Lin Xiaohan’s group had rehearsed it for a long time. When Su Hua had first joined the studio, Teacher Liu intended to teach her and then add her to the group, but after the “incident” occurred, Su Hua was excluded, and Lin Xiaohan’s group didn’t have to rearrange their formation. For this show, Sister Qing had arranged for Su Hua to participate as an individual trainee.
“…To be your sweetest girl~” As they hit the last note, the girls held their final pose with sugary smiles.
Tan Xue laughed. “You guys definitely sweetened me up.”
Lin Xiaohan: “Thank you, Teacher.”
After reviewing the evaluations from the other mentors, Fu Mo picked up the microphone. “I will now announce your grades.” Lin Xiaohan and the others looked at her intently.
“Lin Xiaohan, A.”
Lin Xiaohan’s eyes lit up, and her voice shook with excitement. “Thank you, Teacher!”
Fu Mo announced the others: one B, two Cs, and one F.
Fu Mo: “You may go down to rest. Next group: Starry Universe Entertainment.”
“Ahhh! Starry Universe!”
“That’s Han Sixi and Wen Yutong’s company.”
“Heavens, they’re finally on. I’ve been waiting for so long.”
Su Hua also felt a bit of anticipation. Through the reactions of those around her, she knew these two were high-level competitors.
The Starry Universe group wasn’t just the two of them; several other trainees from the company joined. However, once the dance began, Su Hua realized the others were just there as support—the spotlight was entirely on Han Sixi and Wen Yutong. One excelled in vocals, the other in dance.
They performed a song from Han Sixi’s latest album. The performance didn’t just stun the trainees; even the mentors were impressed.
When it ended, Xu Xiyi asked Han Sixi, “Did you complete this song entirely by yourself?”
Han Sixi nodded with a smile. “Yes, Teacher.”
Xu Xiyi nodded. “Keep up the hard work.”
Jiao Kai looked at Wen Yutong. “Your dancing is good. I hope to see more brilliant performances from you.”
Wen Yutong smiled sweetly. “Thank you, Teacher.”
After a discussion among the mentors, Fu Mo announced the grades.
“Han Sixi and Wen Yutong will definitely get As.”
“Obviously.”
“If that’s the case, there are already eight As.”
“Heavens, we’re only halfway through. What about the other fifty people?”
“Will there only be two A spots left for the rest of us?”
“That’s too cruel.”
Fu Mo: “Han Sixi, A.”
“Wen Yutong, A.”
The other trainees in their group were graded between C and F.
“As expected, they got As!”
“Who will get the last two?”
“Who knows…”
“What do you think… Su Hua will get?”
At that question, a weird silence fell. Then someone snickered. “Isn’t that a stupid question? Tone-deaf and zero coordination—what do you think she’ll get?”
“Don’t forget, Film Queen Fu is the Producer,” one person whispered, glancing toward the center of the mentor panel.
“That makes it even more impossible. Film Queen Fu divorced her, and it was because Su Hua cheated. Even if they weren’t divorced, Teacher Fu isn’t the type to show favoritism.”
“I agree with that. Others might, but Film Queen Fu definitely won’t.”
Fu Mo was famous in the industry for her integrity. Favoritism was the last thing anyone expected from her—especially given their currently strained relationship.
Su Hua was unaware of the whispers. She leaned over and whispered to the girl next to her, “Do you know where the restroom is?”
There were exits on both sides, and she wasn’t sure which to use. The girl hesitated but eventually pointed to the right. Su Hua smiled. “Thank you.”
Once she left, the girl’s teammates hissed, “Why are you talking to her? Aren’t you afraid of getting dragged into her mess and being trashed by anti-fans on Weibo? Stay away from her.” The girl froze and then nodded with a forced smile.
By the time Su Hua returned, the performers were in the row behind hers; it would be her row’s turn soon. The girls at the far end of her row had already gone backstage. Su Hua wanted to ask the girl next to her if any more As had been given out while she was gone, but the girl, having been scolded by her teammates, immediately turned away, giving Su Hua the cold shoulder.
Su Hua closed her mouth. She understood the silent rejection and turned her gaze back to the stage.
The broadcast director was diligently filming every word and action of the high-profile trainees. Su Hua, who could trend just by breathing, was naturally a primary target. The director, watching the “cold shoulder” incident on the monitor, decided that the post-production team shouldn’t miss a single frame.
Tension and friction between trainees were exactly what the audience wanted to see. Quiet, well-behaved girls were easily forgotten.
Finally, it was time for Su Hua and the last few girls to go backstage. Su Hua followed the others.
Backstage, Lou Kexin saw her and immediately broke into a happy grin. “Sister Su Hua, is it your turn?”
“Mhm,” Su Hua said. “I’m the very last one.”
Lou Kexin had been watching Su Hua from her seat, noticing how she sat all alone with no one to talk to or cheer for her. If her teammates hadn’t held her back, she would have gone down to keep her company. “Sister Su Hua, Jia You (Go for it)!” Lou Kexin made a little fist to encourage her.
Su Hua chuckled, tucked a stray lock of hair behind Lou Kexin’s ear, and tapped her nose. “You guys do your best too.”
After Lou Kexin left to perform, Su Hua was left alone with the girls from Haoyi Media. They huddled together to pump themselves up. Su Hua adjusted her mic and took a deep breath.
She could hear the stage from where she stood. She heard Lou Kexin’s assessment: F. Her brow furrowed.
Next was Haoyi Media. The girls shouted “Jia You” and headed out. The last girl in their line—the one who had sat next to Su Hua—looked back at her, opened her mouth as if to say something, but ultimately stayed silent. Su Hua saw it and gave her a “fighting” gesture. The girl smiled and followed her team.
Evaluated trainees went to a different room to get their stickers, so Su Hua didn’t know if the sweet Lou Kexin had cried. F was the lowest grade; she had seen many girls cry upon receiving it.
A staff member called out: “Su Hua, it’s your turn.”
“Okay.” Su Hua composed herself and walked onto the stage. The room fell silent. Trainees and mentors alike were watching her.
Su Hua’s eyes met those of the woman sitting in the very center of the mentor panel.
