Seeing that Lin Yuxuan didn’t answer, Xiang Tiange probed again, “If you find it inconvenient, we could let Ye Hai sleep on the first floor?”

Lin Yuxuan’s eyelid twitched. She replied politely, “You’ve misunderstood. That won’t be necessary.”

Xiang Tiange stood outside. “You’ll stay up here today; no need to go down and squeeze with them. I’m right next door, so call me if you need anything.”

Su Xinge swallowed her food and said, “Thank you. Is everyone else downstairs?”

Xiang Tiange smiled. “Basically everyone. Lin Yuxuan is down there too. Only Ye Hai might be keeping watch in the second-floor hall for a while.”

Night fell quickly, darkness cloaked the earth, and everyone drifted into sleep. Ye Hai watched from the second-floor window for a while; seeing no anomalies, he felt safe enough to start dozing off.

Lin Yuxuan bit her lip. “An Le ran away. She’s gone.”

“How could she suddenly disappear? What about the others?” Su Xinge climbed out of bed.

Lin Yuxuan shook her head. “I didn’t tell the others. An Le’s state seemed… a bit off.” She had been downstairs for a while and had only dared to sneak up to find Su Xinge once Ye Hai had moved from the second floor to the first to sleep.

Su Xinge rubbed her aching head. “What do you mean ‘off’?”

Lin Yuxuan steeled herself and said, “She’s not like a normal person. I didn’t dare tell the others. Are you willing to help?”
