After Transmigrating into a Book, I Became the Vicious Female Supporting Lead - Chapter 10
Neither of them spoke.
The homeroom teacher’s face darkened further.
“Lin Qiyan, come to the office with me.” He looked at the person crouching on the floor, his frown softening considerably as his voice grew gentler. “What happened to Ran Lie? Why is she on the floor?”
A girl following Ran Lie answered, “Lin Qiyan took Ran Lie’s seat and refused to get up. She even beat her up.”
The teacher’s expression turned cold enough to freeze. He turned to the girl and said, “Bai Lian, take her to the infirmary.”
“Lin Qiyan, get over here.”
Lin Qiyan stood her ground. “Teacher, I didn’t hit her.”
Seeing her dare to talk back, the middle-aged man’s temper flared instantly. “I’m saying it one last time: get over here!!”
The shout echoed, leaving the entire class as silent as cicadas in winter. Bai Lian, supporting Ran Lie toward the door, couldn’t help but tremble. She whispered, “Teacher, I’m taking her out now.”
The teacher glanced at them and moved aside to let them pass. Lin Qiyan sighed internally and walked out, resigning herself to her fate. As she passed the teacher, he shot her a vicious glare. She heard his raspy, unpleasant voice leave a final command to the class: “Everyone stay quiet. Let’s see who dares to speak.”
During evening self-study, only a few homeroom teachers remained in the office besides those on duty. Fluorescent lights illuminated the large room as bright as day.
Just as Lin Qiyan reached the office, there was a sound behind her. A trace of imperceptible coldness flickered in her eyes, and she took a few steps forward non-gracefully. The man’s kick met empty air. He froze for a moment, frowning as he prepared to speak.
Lin Qiyan turned around, acting as if she had just noticed him, and called out obediently, “Teacher.”
The teacher, named Sun Li, stared at her suspiciously. “What are you dodging for?”
Lin Qiyan looked blank. “What?”
Sun Li stared at her intently for a while before speaking: “Why did you hit someone in the classroom?”
Lin Qiyan: “Teacher, there are surveillance cameras in the classroom. She fell down on her own.”
Sun Li said with annoyance, “How does a perfectly healthy person just fall down? It’s not like her cerebellum is underdeveloped. At a time like this, you’re still making excuses?”
Lin Qiyan swallowed the words she was about to say. You’re right; her cerebellum might actually be underdeveloped.
Sun Li sneered. “Nothing to say? This incident is severe. A demerit is too light; you should be expelled directly to stop you from ruining other students. We’ll see what Ran Lie’s check-up results are first. You better start thinking about how to pay compensation.”
Lin Qiyan: “Teacher, she moved first.”
Sun Li already had a violent temper, and having his authority challenged multiple times made his emotions boil over. He immediately moved to kick her. Lin Qiyan, feeling a bit uncomfortable standing, shifted her feet to stretch, naturally stepping aside.
Sun Li missed again. Losing his balance, his body lunged forward; he was forced to scurry a few steps with his back arched like a monkey. A few suppressed chuckles drifted through the office.
Once he steadied himself and stood straight, his face was flushed bright red. He glared daggers at Lin Qiyan. The girl being stared at looked full of apology: “Teacher, are you alright? My foot felt a bit uncomfortable just now; I didn’t do it on purpose.”
Sun Li’s chest heaved violently. He pointed a finger at Lin Qiyan, his lips trembling with rage.
Lin Qiyan explained, “Teacher, that’s exactly how Student Ran Lie fell and hurt her nose.”
Sun Li’s fury intensified. He took a stride toward her, raising his hand to strike. Right then, a slender hand blocked him. Lin Qiyan was shielded behind someone; she couldn’t see the person’s face, only that they were quite tall.
“Teacher, there is an Omega Protection Law, and teachers cannot strike students at will.”
The person’s voice was gentle, and they spoke with clear logic. Seeing the face of the newcomer, Sun Li was forced to swallow his rage, plotting to settle the score later.
Another teacher noticed the boy and waved him over: “Mu Yunjing, over here.”
The boy nodded to Sun Li and walked toward the other desk. Lin Qiyan watched his back, deep in thought. The surname Mu… does he have something to do with Mu Yunge?
Sun Li’s burning eyes glared at her coldly. “You skipped class all day. That’s another demerit.”
From across the room, Mu Yunjing looked up. His voice was neither too loud nor too soft: “Teacher Sun, this student actually requested leave at the Academic Affairs Office. Perhaps they didn’t notify you yet, but I saw it while organizing files today.”
Sun Li’s fire was forced to fizzle out. He gave the boy a somewhat fawning smile. “Right, right. I was just worried that an Omega like her might run into trouble outside.”
Mu Yunjing smiled slightly. “She won’t.”
It was only then that Lin Qiyan saw his face clearly. He was very handsome—a gentle, refreshing handsomeness with a youthful aura. When he smiled, a dimple appeared by his lips. Noticing her gaze, he gave her a friendly smile.
Lin Qiyan was stunned for a moment. With an outsider protecting her, Sun Li couldn’t do much more. His tone softened slightly: “Go back for now. I won’t give you a demerit today. Don’t let it happen again.”
Lin Qiyan ignored his words and asked, “Teacher, Student Ran hasn’t cleaned my seat yet. I have nowhere to sit.”
Sun Li’s temper showed signs of rising again. “She’s injured because of you and can’t do it. Tidy it up yourself. Also, where is your uniform? Why aren’t you wearing it? What is this outfit you’re wearing?”
Lin Qiyan: “My uniform was on the desk and got dirty too. Teacher, I’d like to request leave for tonight. I haven’t finished tidying my rental place. It’ll be better if I come back tomorrow once Student Ran Lie has cleaned my desk and chair.”
Sun Li roared, “Lin Qiyan, do you think this place is your home? You come and go as you please? Why should others clean up for you? Who do you think you are? If the room isn’t ready, sleep on the street! Who’s going to stop you?!”
Lin Qiyan sighed. “Teacher, it’s dangerous for an Omega to sleep on the street.”
Sun Li: “You’re afraid of danger? I think you’re plenty brave! Talking back to a teacher like this… look at your grades! What right do you have to be arrogant?!”
He grew more excited as he spoke, his voice echoing loudly through the office. Lin Qiyan felt like she was going deaf.
Mu Yunjing, who was helping a teacher organize test papers, frowned and glanced over. Sun Li realized he had been too loud and hurriedly looked back at the “Young Master,” only to meet Mu Yunjing’s somewhat cold gaze.
Breaking into a cold sweat, he lowered his voice and hissed at Lin Qiyan through gritted teeth: “I’ll grant your leave. Go to the logistics department and get another set of uniforms now. Tomorrow, Ran Lie will have things cleaned up. You be here for class on time.”
Lin Qiyan’s gaze fell on the boy in the distance, and she nodded. “Thank you, Teacher. And the compensation money?”
Sun Li’s jaw ached. “I’ll try my best to communicate with Student Ran’s family.”
Lin Qiyan repeated, “Thank you, Teacher.”
She turned and left the office.
