After Transmigrating into a Scumbag Alpha, I Whitewashed Myself with the Movie Queen on a Reality Dating Show - Chapter 18
Gu Zhi was stunned and said blankly, “Hello, Jiejie.”
Xu Muyan pursed her lips, wondering if she had been too overbearing.
They walked a distance and met up with the others. It seemed the three corridors all connected.
Ji Mo patted his chest, still shaken. “Oh my god, you guys wouldn’t believe it. An NPC just jumped out and scared me. I practically leaped ten feet in the air.”
Xu Ranzhi’s hair was a bit messy, probably from being startled. She pretended to smooth her hair back behind her ear. “With your guts, the house must be shaking.” She glanced at Gu Zhi and Xu Muyan, whose hands were still clasped. She immediately pulled them apart. “What’s there to be afraid of? Why are you holding hands?”
Gu Zhi insisted on holding Xu Muyan’s hand. “What, you’re not going to allow it?”
The three men fell silent. The relationship between Gu Zhi and Xu Muyan was obvious to everyone, and no one was crossing any lines, yet Xu Ranzhi insisted on inserting herself.
Wo Aini pursed his lips. He had thought he had a chance with Xu Ranzhi, but she was too deeply obsessed with Gu Zhi, turning her love into hate. He simply couldn’t handle this omega.
Suddenly, an NPC wearing a wig burst out. Several people were badly startled. Ji Mo immediately fell onto Wo Aini, trembling. “So scary.”
Wo Aini’s heart fluttered. He gently coaxed him, “Don’t be scared. Don’t be scared. I’ll protect you.”
Xu Ranzhi was also startled and hid to the side. When she recovered, she saw Gu Zhi hiding in Xu Muyan’s arms. Xu Muyan didn’t show any fear but instead protected her gently. Xu Ranzhi gritted her teeth. This damned escape room! It’s just giving them a chance!
Back at the house, they still couldn’t go to sleep. The production crew felt they didn’t have enough content, so they needed to play a game. Everyone would draw a card and answer some juicy questions on it.
Gu Zhi poured water for everyone and even specifically asked Xu Muyan if she was hot. It was a clear display of affection and favoritism. Xu Muyan was quite pleased. “No, thank you.”
They started with Wo Aini. He drew a card and had the person next to him read it. Wang Yang read, “Wo Aini, how many exes have you had, and what are their genders?”
Wo Aini thought for a moment. “Two. Both omegas.”
Ji Mo smiled in satisfaction.
The game continued until it was Xu Ranzhi’s turn. “What is your most unforgettable memory?” Ji Mo asked.
Xu Ranzhi answered without hesitation, “Junior high.”
Hearing this, Xu Muyan’s eyebrows twitched.
“Why was it so unforgettable?”
Xu Ranzhi secretly glanced at Xu Muyan. “Because I had a senior in high school. She was beautiful and smart. More importantly, she was very kind to me.”
Ji Mo was gossipy and tutted. “Was that senior an alpha or an omega?”
“An omega, of course.”
The three men started cheering. Wo Aini’s thoughts were laid bare. No wonder Xu Ranzhi never responded to me. She likes omegas.
Xu Muyan bit her lip and stood up. “I need to go to the restroom.”
“Jiejie Muyan,” Xu Ranzhi stopped her. “Don’t you want to hear what I have to say next?”
Xu Muyan didn’t look at her. “I don’t want to at all.”
Gu Zhi looked at the two of them, recalling how Xu Ranzhi kept interrupting her closeness with Xu Muyan. Xu Muyan and Xu Ranzhi definitely know each other’s identities! More strangely, not only do they know each other, but they also have a good relationship. Could it be that Xu Ranzhi is here not for me, but for Xu Muyan?!
Xu Muyan came out of the restroom. It was her turn to draw a card. Gu Zhi read, “Do you have an ex?”
“No.”
“Did an ex cheat on you?”
Xu Muyan pulled a face. “I don’t have an ex. Who would cheat on me?”
That’s true.
“Do you have a crush?” The question wasn’t on the card, but Gu Zhi read it out deliberately, wanting to hear Xu Muyan’s honest thoughts. Xu Ranzhi perked up her ears and leaned closer.
Xu Muyan paused. She looked at the innocent expression on Gu Zhi’s face. “…Yes.”
The three men applauded. They unanimously believed that Xu Muyan’s crush was Gu Zhi. Gu Zhi was momentarily stunned, then said softly, “Really?”
“Really,” Xu Muyan added. “I wouldn’t stay in a relationship with someone I haven’t been physically intimate with.” Although the statement was confusing to others, Gu Zhi knew what she meant. She and Xu Muyan had already been marked, which meant they had been intimate. Xu Muyan was signaling that her crush was her!
It was Gu Zhi’s turn. Xu Muyan looked at the question on the card and gave a knowing smile.
Gu Zhi: “?”
“Have you kissed anyone?”
Gu Zhi shyly lowered her head. Who else but you? “Yes.”
Xu Muyan smiled softly, her eyes full of affection. Xu Ranzhi was sullen. She remembered having that same look of affection for Xu Muyan when she was growing up.
Ji Mo was confused. If the two of you have crushes on each other and one of you just admitted to kissing someone, why are you smiling?
A new guest arrived at the house. “Hello, everyone. I’m Qin Huan, and I’m a doctor.” Qin Huan bent down politely to introduce himself.
Ji Mo’s eyes immediately lit up. A tall alpha, with the noble profession of a doctor. Crucially, he was also cultured, gentlemanly, handsome, and generous. He was his ideal type.
“Hello,” Gu Zhi said, stepping forward to shake Qin Huan’s hand. To counter Xu Ranzhi’s tricks, and because the person the production crew originally invited had a sudden emergency, Gu Zhi had arranged for Qin Huan to come and help her.
Tomorrow was the date day. Everyone had to send an invitation card to their crush last night. If the crush accepted, they could go on a date. Coincidentally, she and Xu Muyan had a date planned.
For the first date, she had to dress nicely. Gu Zhi looked at herself in the mirror for a long time.
“Stop looking,” Qin Huan said, looking at his phone on the bed. “How did it go?”
“You asked me to send an invitation card to Xu Ranzhi, and she accepted.”
“She accepted?” Gu Zhi was astonished. That was completely unexpected. But it was good, at least she wouldn’t interrupt her date with Xu Muyan.
“You know what to do next, right?”
“Of course. For your happiness, I’ll have to sacrifice myself. No matter what, I’ll stop her.”
“Thanks, sister.”
The next day arrived as planned. Gu Zhi was already at the date location—a coffee shop. She couldn’t be late for her first date.
After waiting for about ten minutes, Gu Zhi finally saw a beautiful silhouette in a corner. The weather was sunny and not too hot. Xu Muyan was wearing a white knit crop top and a black slip dress, with her fair calves occasionally visible through the slit of the skirt. She wore a black Chanel-style jacket over it, completing a look of aristocratic elegance that captivated Gu Zhi.
Gu Zhi’s fingers were sweating. She smiled warmly. “Jiejie.”
Xu Muyan also smiled and took off her fisherman’s hat. “It’s a little cold today.”
Gu Zhi let out a breath and nodded repeatedly. “I’ll hold your hand.”
Xu Muyan chuckled. “It’s not winter. My hand shouldn’t be frozen.”
Gu Zhi laughed shyly. “What do you want to drink?”
“I’ll have whatever you’re having.”
Gu Zhi said, “Then let’s have hot coffee and some dessert.”
The two sat in silence. After all, they were alone, and in front of cameras. It was bound to be a little awkward. Gu Zhi tried to find a topic. “What book have you read recently?” This wasn’t a deliberate attempt to make conversation, but she had asked Qin Huan last night for advice on how to talk to a crush. Qin Huan, the bookworm, suggested asking what books they had read. Gu Zhi wasn’t good at social interaction and thought it was a good idea. But saying it out loud was still awkward.
Xu Muyan calmly replied, “Brave New World.”
“Coincidentally, I’ve read it too.” Gu Zhi wasn’t lying; she really had.
However, silence returned after a while. After the coffee and dessert arrived, Xu Muyan scooped a bite of the matcha cake with a spoon. “Do you want some?”
Gu Zhi: “?”
“If you don’t, I’ll eat it.”
“I want some! I want some!” Gu Zhi took a bite, and the matcha flavor filled her mouth. She saw that Xu Muyan didn’t discard the spoon she had just eaten from, but instead scooped another bite and ate it herself. Gu Zhi’s face flushed unnaturally.
The cameramen filming them exclaimed that it was too much. Eating cake with the same spoon—if that wasn’t something couples did, then what was?
Qin Huan had also dressed up to meet Xu Ranzhi. Xu Ranzhi was wearing a red slip dress, her hair curled, giving her the look of a Hong Kong beauty from the last century. Qin Huan was a bit stunned. He unconsciously licked his lips and swallowed.
“You… you haven’t left yet?” They were supposed to meet at the date location.
Xu Ranzhi hummed and lazily smoothed her long hair. Her arms were fair like lotus roots, and her every gesture was seductive. “Why don’t we go to another place?” she asked softly.
“Where do you want to go?”
“I remember a coffee shop that was quite nice. Why don’t we go there?” Xu Ranzhi’s eyes sparkled, making her incredibly endearing.
Qin Huan had already forgotten Gu Zhi’s instructions. “No problem. I’ll drive you there right now.”
