After Transmigrating into an ABO World with My Nemesis (BL) - Chapter 6
Cheng Bing was sitting at the opposite table with several books laid out in front of him.
Jiang Zhou glanced over, pretending not to care, but his sharp eyes caught the keywords on the covers.
Parallel Universes.
It seemed Cheng Bing was also looking for a way back.
As if sensing his gaze, Cheng Bing looked up from his books, his dark, heavy eyes locking onto Jiang Zhou.
Jiang Zhou always felt that the way Cheng Bing looked at people lately was strange. His scalp prickled under the stare, and he silently mouthed a question:
What are you looking at!
He looked quite fierce.
Cheng Bing stared at him—at his bared teeth and bristling “fur”—staring until Jiang Zhou was almost ready to stomp over and start a fight. Only then did Cheng Bing leisurely lower his eyelids and go back to his reading.
He acted as if Jiang Zhou didn’t exist.
Jiang Zhou: “…”
Provocation. This is absolute provocation!
He really should have killed Cheng Bing yesterday!
Since Cheng Bing showed no intention of looking up again and Jiang Zhou had actual business to attend to, he decided to ignore him. Clutching his books, he found an empty seat and sat down to flip through his materials.
He specifically sat with his back to Cheng Bing. Out of sight, out of mind.
Thus, he didn’t know that after he sat down, Cheng Bing looked up again.
They were sitting by the window. The early morning sunlight spilled in softly, enveloping Jiang Zhou and turning the tips of his ears a translucent red.
Jiang Zhou couldn’t even read a book peacefully. He propped his chin on his left hand, while his right hand rested on the table after turning a page, his fingers tapping rhythmically like he was playing a silent piano.
It was a subconscious habit he had when he was thinking.
Cheng Bing’s gaze fell on his wrist.
The red marks he had squeezed into the skin yesterday were gone.
Cheng Bing watched for a long while before slowly shifting his gaze upward to Jiang Zhou’s exposed, pale nape.
After a night, the redness and swelling on Jiang Zhou’s gland had vanished. The tiny organ lay curled and quiet beneath the thin layer of skin.
Inside the quiet library, the scent of paper and ink permeated the air. But beneath that light fragrance of stationery, a faint wisp of peach fruit candy was floating.
Jiang Zhou didn’t have a full grasp of the reality of being an Omega.
He was completely unaware of how dangerous it was to let his pheromones leak out.
Today, he had forgotten to wear a suppressant patch and hadn’t used any blockers, brazenly exposing his scent gland to the air.
This peach-candy fragrance drifted out from his smooth neck in wisps—aggressive, domineering, and leaning in to wrap tightly around Cheng Bing.
A body is far more honest than its master’s will. While Jiang Zhou was earnestly researching data, he had no idea that this sweet peach scent had long since betrayed him, seeking out the pheromones that were compatible with it.
However, Jiang Zhou’s pheromones were overly assertive. They quickly filled the small area, affecting more than just Cheng Bing.
Throughout the library, several Alphas noticed the unrestrained Omega pheromones. A few people looked up, glancing in their direction.
Not far away, a guy hesitated for a long time before finally clutching his phone, standing up, and walking toward Jiang Zhou.
Cheng Bing expressionlessly picked up his books, stood up, and walked over to sit right next to Jiang Zhou.
Sensing a familiar presence, Jiang Zhou snapped his head up. Seeing it was Cheng Bing, his eyes immediately filled with wariness.
At the same time, the other guy reached the edge of Jiang Zhou’s table. As Jiang Zhou looked up at him, Cheng Bing also looked up, staring at the newcomer coldly.
Male student: “…”
A special magnetic field exists between Alphas. They have an extremely keen perception of their own kind, especially those who are exceptionally dominant.
Almost instantly, the student realized: the Alpha in front of him was marking his territory. The Omega was a part of that territory. Alphas typically have an incredibly strong sense of possession; because of his “death-defying” approach, this Alpha was currently very displeased. An invisible pheromone suppression washed over him, making his legs feel weak.
Jiang Zhou looked at the student, confused. He pulled out a scrap of paper and was about to write, “Is something the matter?” But he had only written one character when the guy turned and ran away as if he’d seen a ghost.
Jiang Zhou: ?
Jiang Zhou was baffled. Before he could figure out what was wrong with that guy, the scrap of paper in front of him was unceremoniously snatched away.
Jiang Zhou turned around angrily, only to see Cheng Bing’s long fingers gripping a pen, writing a line on the paper:
[Did you take your medicine?]
Jiang Zhou: “…?”
Is he calling me crazy?
How dare he!
Jiang Zhou glared at Cheng Bing, ready to make the library a crime scene by strangling him, but then he saw Cheng Bing write a second line:
[The Pheromone Regulating Capsules.]
Oh. He wasn’t insulting him.
But Jiang Zhou still wasn’t in a great mood.
With a sour face, Jiang Zhou yanked the paper back. His pen shook like an earthquake as he scrawled two large words over Cheng Bing’s lines:
[NO! I! DIDN’T!]
Cheng Bing: “…”
He’s remarkably self-righteous about it.
[Your pheromones are leaking. They’re very strong.]
[So what? You jealous?]
Cheng Bing turned his head, looking at him with zero emotion.
Jiang Zhou cocked an eyebrow triumphantly.
After a few seconds, Cheng Bing leaned in close to his ear.
Jiang Zhou hadn’t expected him to move in so suddenly. His body tensed up, and for a moment, he forgot to pull away.
Cheng Bing’s pheromones were clearly better restrained than his. The moment he leaned in, Jiang Zhou first smelled the scent of detergent—a crisp, refreshing lemon fragrance—and then, a faint, fleeting hint of fresh snow mixed with greenery.
It was Cheng Bing’s pheromones.
The scent triggered a memory. In an instant, Jiang Zhou recalled yesterday, when he was enveloped and trapped by this massive, deep aura.
His face involuntarily flushed. Then, a warm, moist current of air hit his ear.
Jiang Zhou’s head felt like it was going to explode. He heard Cheng Bing say in a very low voice:
“When an Omega actively exposes their pheromones in front of an Alpha, it’s considered an invitation.”
Jiang Zhou’s face turned scorching hot instantly. He felt like steam was about to come out of his head.
Wh-what?
What kind of talk is that!
Flustered and annoyed, he pinned down the paper and continued to scribble furiously:
[HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT??!! It wasn’t in the manual at all!]
Jiang Zhou stared at Cheng Bing suspiciously, his eyes clearly saying: You aren’t trying to trick me, are you?
Cheng Bing let out a helpless sigh and wrote:
[I am an Alpha.]
Jiang Zhou: “…”
Big deal, you’re an Alpha.
Scaring people just because you’re an Alpha.
Before he could express his anger and contempt, Cheng Bing wrote a second line:
[Jiang Zhou, it’s instinct.]
Jiang Zhou froze. He instinctively turned his head to look. The moment he turned, he met Cheng Bing’s heavy gaze—dark as a black sea, looking as if it might swallow him whole in the next second.
He looked away as if burned, only to see several people at nearby tables acting strangely, casting frequent glances in their direction.
Jiang Zhou: “…”
Jiang Zhou was turning red from head to toe. Who knew this world had such a setting!
He immediately started packing his things to leave, but Cheng Bing suddenly grabbed the hem of his shirt.
Jiang Zhou stopped and looked down.
Cheng Bing wrote a sentence on the paper:
[I can lend you my pheromones.]
Alpha pheromones can be used to block out an Omega’s scent. However, this method is incredibly forceful—it’s essentially a territorial warning, a way to threaten other Alphas so they don’t even try to catch a whiff of the Omega.
But clearly, Jiang Zhou didn’t know this.
Actually, Cheng Bing didn’t quite realize it either. He simply thought he was proposing a reasonable solution.
The ABO Physiological Knowledge Manual mentioned that Alpha pheromones could cover an Omega’s scent.
Jiang Zhou frowned, falling into thought.
His pheromones really were getting heavy; even he could smell that sticky peach-candy scent on himself.
It was a long walk from the library back to the dorms. He wasn’t sure if something might happen on the way. Accepting Cheng Bing’s help to mask the scent was indeed a more convenient option.
But Jiang Zhou wasn’t very willing. He remembered he was still mad at Cheng Bing. If he accepted help now, wouldn’t he be handing Cheng Bing a weakness to hold over him?
After two seconds, Jiang Zhou shook his head in refusal.
The worst I have to do is run back, he thought. In broad daylight, surely nothing bad can happen on campus.
He stepped out to leave, but he didn’t move an inch.
Jiang Zhou looked down. Cheng Bing was still gripping his hem.
Jiang Zhou shot him a confused look, signaling with his eyes to let go.
But Cheng Bing didn’t let go. His lips were pressed thin and the corners of his mouth were turned down slightly. He looked displeased. After a few seconds of silence, he wrote on the paper:
[Are you still angry?]
Huh?
Jiang Zhou was stunned at first, but then he began to catch the “scent” of the situation.
No wonder Cheng Bing’s attitude had been so weird today.
Jiang Zhou mulled it over for two seconds, his eyebrows arching high. He sat back down, snatched the paper, popped the pen cap, and wrote triumphantly:
[Cheng-y Bing, are you trying to apologize to me?]
