After Transmigrating into an ABO World with My Nemesis (BL) - Chapter 8
In the dim alleyway, a young, thin boy was pinned against the wall by a tall, fierce-looking youth.
Discarded trash and scrap metal were strewn everywhere, along with a pile of rubble from some unknown source. The boy was shoved against the stones, barely able to keep his footing.
Both snapped their heads toward Jiang Zhou. The boy’s eyes were brimming with tears, his face etched with terror; the youth’s eyes glinted with malice, his expression impatient.
When the boy caught the scent of the powerful Alpha pheromones clinging to Jiang Zhou, he felt a surge of joy. This scent was incredibly dominant—strong enough to completely suppress his bullying ex-boyfriend. He was saved!
The boy cast a desperate, pleading look toward Jiang Zhou, but as the figure drew closer, he realized something was wrong.
Though the person at the mouth of the alley was tall and well-proportioned, they were far too lithe compared to a typical Alpha. Moreover, the scent was “floating”—it felt like it had been deliberately left on them by someone else.
This person is… an Omega!
The boy wanted to call for help, but he didn’t want someone else to suffer because of him. After a moment of hesitation, he bit his lip, tears falling, and shook his head at Jiang Zhou, signaling him to run.
Jiang Zhou saw the signal, but he didn’t move. Instead, he knit his brows and said, “There’s a police station not far from here. Do you want me to call them? It shouldn’t take more than five minutes for them to arrive at the scene.”
The male Alpha was initially startled by the Alpha pheromones on Jiang Zhou, but he quickly caught on. He scrutinized Jiang Zhou for a long time before letting out a cold sneer. “My boyfriend is just throwing a tantrum. Don’t you Omegas love playing this game?”
“I’m not—”
“Shut up!” The Alpha roared at the boy. “Do you want me to mark you right in front of him?”
With his wrists gripped tight, the boy couldn’t escape; he could only turn his face away, weeping.
Tch.
Disgusting.
Jiang Zhou remained expressionless, walking step by step into the gloomy alley.
Despite being an Omega, there was something about his aura that actually made the male Alpha feel a twinge of fear.
The Alpha watched Jiang Zhou warily. “I’m warning you! Mind your own business, or I’ll mark you right along with him!”
“Ha.” Jiang Zhou let out a short, dry laugh, but his smile vanished instantly. His lips curled downward, and his eyes turned cold as he stared at the Alpha. “The word I hate hearing most right now is ‘mark’.”
The male Alpha felt humiliated for being intimidated by an Omega. With a dark look, he tightened his fist as Jiang Zhou approached.
“ARGH!!!” A miserable scream rang out.
Five minutes later.
Jiang Zhou squatted on the ground, looking at the “Alpha” curled up weakly in the corner. He said impatiently, “Stop acting like a lunatic who thinks with his crotch. They broke up with you—just get lost, alright?”
The male Alpha had a ridiculous purple bruise over his left eye. He was blubbering through tears and snot, “How can you hit people? I’m calling the police! I’m calling the police!!”
Jiang Zhou was speechless. “You were the one who swung first, weren’t you? Besides, I have a recording on my phone of you threatening to forcibly mark an Omega. You sure you want to call the cops?”
Last night, he had looked up the laws of this world and knew that the penalties for forced marking were severe—even a verbal threat could lead to a sentence. It fell squarely under the category of legitimate self-defense for an Omega.
The delicate-looking boy cowered behind Jiang Zhou. He was too scared to stand up, yet he hissed resentfully, “Yeah! Exactly!”
Jiang Zhou: “…”
Oh, so now you have a backbone?
“Hey, pull your pheromones back. It smells rank.” Jiang Zhou frowned, wrinkling his nose.
Since the Alpha couldn’t win the fight, he had tried to use his pheromones to suppress Jiang Zhou. However, Jiang Zhou was carrying a much more powerful scent, so he wasn’t heavily affected—he just found the Alpha’s scent of dust and cement incredibly nauseating.
“You… an Omega like you…” The Alpha tried to keep wailing, but he suddenly sensed something. He choked on his words, his body beginning to tremble uncontrollably.
“What’s going on?” A cold voice drifted from the alley entrance.
The tone was familiar. Jiang Zhou froze and looked back to see that it was indeed Cheng Bing. He raised an eyebrow in surprise. “What are you doing here?”
Cheng Bing’s face was unreadable, but his cold gaze slid downward, landing on Jiang Zhou’s left cheek.
There was a coin-sized scrape there. It wasn’t deep, but it was oozing blood, making it look a bit gruesome.
When the Alpha realized he couldn’t beat Jiang Zhou in a fair fight, he had played dirty, grabbing a rock from the rubble and hurling it at Jiang Zhou’s head. Luckily, Jiang Zhou had dodged quickly; otherwise, it wouldn’t have been just a small scratch.
Cheng Bing stared intensely, his attitude appearing quite forceful. Uncomfortable, Jiang Zhou rubbed his nose and brushed it off. “It’s nothing… just a minor thing.”
A minor thing.
Jiang Zhou always had “minor things.” Some led to injuries, others ate up his time, filling his life to the brim.
Cheng Bing felt that familiar itch in his teeth again.
“Are you his Alpha?” the Alpha on the ground suddenly asked.
Cheng Bing looked down coldly. His gaze held a dark, unidentifiable shadow that made the Alpha’s heart skip a beat, instantly regretting that he had spoken up.
Cheng Bing stared at him for a long time before his lips moved, spitting out two hard, cold words: “I’m not.”
Not?
Both the boy and the bully were stunned. This Omega was clearly drenched in his scent.
“Not? Even better. This Omega, he—”
The Alpha seemingly wanted to gain some “Alpha solidarity” by snitching, but he was cut off mid-sentence. Suddenly, a massive wave of high-level Alpha pheromones crashed down on him like a ton of bricks. The pheromones turned into invisible steel wires, tightening around his throat. His face turned beet red, his eyes bulged, and his arms shook violently as he propped himself up on the dusty ground.
Pheromone Deterrence.
Alphas are naturally aggressive, and between Alphas, there is an inherent pheromone repulsion. They are natural enemies; thus, they evolved this “deterrence”—their most “polite” and legal form of combat.
The bully felt like he was dying. He never expected both people he ran into today to be so difficult. He couldn’t beat the Omega, and he was outclassed by the Alpha.
He thought miserably to himself: Maybe I should just die. What’s the point of living?
Jiang Zhou wore a strange expression. He leaned toward Cheng Bing, tugged at his sleeve, and whispered very, very softly from behind his back, “Cheng-y Bing… are you… ‘inviting’ me?”
Cheng Bing: “…”
Cheng Bing: “…………”
Cheng Bing fell silent. He closed his eyes, looking like he had a massive headache, then opened them a few seconds later and said as steadily as possible, “No.”
Jiang Zhou’s expression got even weirder. He scowled and said grumpily, “Why is it an ‘invitation’ when an Omega exposes pheromones, but not when an Alpha does it? Double standards much? Do you have any Alpha manners at all?”
Cheng Bing: “…”
Noticing the boy nearby was looking increasingly pained by the aura, Jiang Zhou whispered, “Okay, put your ‘divine powers’ away.”
Mainly because his own body was acting strange too. It was as if Cheng Bing’s pheromones flipped a switch inside him. Jiang Zhou felt his own scent becoming restless, like it wanted to burst out of his glands at any second.
Cheng Bing swept his gaze to the side, noticed Jiang Zhou’s unnatural expression, and slowly retracted his pheromones.
The bully let out a breath of relief. He didn’t know what else would happen if he stayed. The moment the deterrence ended, he scrambled to his feet and bolted out of the alley.
“Going back to school?” Cheng Bing asked.
Jiang Zhou nodded, but stopped halfway. He turned to the boy. “Hey, you go to S-University?”
The boy shook his head and whispered, “I’m at A-University.”
There were several universities in this area. Jiang Zhou thought for a moment and said, “You should walk with us for a bit.”
S-Uni and A-Uni were in different directions, but just to be safe, it was better to see him onto a bus.
The boy’s eyes practically turned into stars. He grabbed Jiang Zhou’s hand, tears of gratitude falling. “Thank you so much, you’re such a good person, waaaaah…”
Jiang Zhou’s brain stalled for a second. Being held by a guy who was crying so delicately felt weird; his body went stiff.
No, no, no, I shouldn’t have stereotypes. Right now, he and I are basically ‘sisters’.
Jiang Zhou suppressed the urge to yank his hand away and tried to find some comforting words. He said stiffly, “Uh, it’s fine. No trouble.”
The boy wiped his eyes. “Can we exchange—”
“Are you going to let that wound on your face keep bleeding?” Cheng Bing suddenly interrupted coldly.
Jiang Zhou touched his cheek. It stung a bit, but it didn’t seem serious. He whispered, “It’s probably already scabbed over…”
Cheng Bing didn’t say anything else, but with his lowered brows and pressed lips, he looked freezing cold and thoroughly displeased.
The boy shivered, feeling the chill was directed at him. He peeked up and met the Alpha’s cold, black eyes.
The boy: “…”
The boy hurriedly said, “Yes, yes! You need to treat the wound. Let’s go, let’s go!”
Jiang Zhou didn’t think the scratch needed a doctor. He’d been a rowdy kid and was used to minor injuries; they usually healed in a week if left alone. But since they both insisted, Jiang Zhou scratched his head. “Well… alright then.”
The three reached the roadside. The boy walked next to Jiang Zhou, hesitating several times as if he wanted to say something.
Jiang Zhou noticed and turned to him. “What is it?”
The boy glanced at Cheng Bing, looking a bit fearful, and stammered, “N-nothing.”
Jiang Zhou thought he wanted the recording from earlier and said apologetically, “Sorry, I didn’t actually record anything. I just wanted to scare him.”
The boy shook his head. “It’s okay, that’s not it!”
“Then what is it?” Jiang Zhou looked at him earnestly, tilting his head. “If you want to report it to the police, you can contact me anytime.”
Jiang Zhou’s eyes were light-colored. In the sunlight, they looked translucent. When he looked at someone closely, they could clearly see their own reflection in his eyes. It felt as if they were the sole focus of his attention and care.
The boy’s face flushed for some reason. He whispered, “It’s not that… I just wanted to say… to say…”
He tugged at Jiang Zhou’s sleeve, signaling him to lean in. Jiang Zhou leaned over and heard him whisper: “Be careful of that Alpha next to you. You shouldn’t want an Alpha who is too possessive.”
Huh?
Jiang Zhou blanked for a second, then burst out laughing. He patted the boy’s shoulder and said, “Don’t worry, I definitely don’t want him.”
He leaned in as well and whispered back, “He and I are enemies. He hates me, and I hate him.”
The boy’s expression became complicated.
People who hate each other rush over to protect one another and then drag them to treat a wound?
Is this some trendy new way of ‘hating’ someone?
He wanted to say more, but Cheng Bing turned his cold gaze toward them. The boy shut his mouth instantly.
Is it a threat? Not sure. Let’s see.
But when he looked back, Cheng Bing had already turned away, saying flatly, “The bus is here.”
The boy got on the bus. Only after he was seated did he realize—
Contact info! I didn’t get that Omega’s contact info!
He whipped his head around through the window, only to see the tall, cold Alpha grabbing the Omega by the nape like a kitten and dragging him into a pharmacy. The Omega resisted with annoyance for a second but lost the struggle, finally being dragged inside with a grumpy face.
The boy: “…”
I must be hallucinating.
This is how you ‘hate’ each other?
