After Unbinding the Simp System, I'm Targeted by the Villain - Chapter 44
The Yu family’s status in Kyoto went without saying; combined, everyone in this room likely wouldn’t even be worth a glance from them.
“Weren’t you getting quite close to Yu Chucheng back at the resort? If it weren’t for the Yu family’s sake, do you think anyone would give you the time of day? So I suggest you be smart and don’t push your luck. It’ll be better for everyone,” Zhuang Yunfei warned in a low voice, resting a hand on Duan Huaijin’s shoulder.
“What? He actually managed to latch onto Yu Chucheng?”
“This kid has some moves.”
“Is he crazy? If Yu Jingchen found out, he’d tear him to shreds.”
The others finally understood why Zhuang Yunfei had invited this person. It turned out the Yu family was involved. Back at Sunrise Resort, Zhuang Yunfei had only been putting on an act in front of Yu Chucheng.
“Young Master Zhuang, don’t be angry.” A beauty wearing a black lace camisole twisted her slender waist and, with great situational awareness, handed over a glass of wine.
Zhuang Yunfei took the glass and waved it contemptuously before Duan Huaijin’s eyes. “Considering you haven’t seen much of the world and don’t know the rules of our circle, how about this: as long as you drink every glass of wine in front of everyone here, I’ll act as if today never happened.”
This wasn’t ordinary liquor. A normal person would be drunk after three or four glasses. If someone actually finished the whole round, they’d be lucky to end up unconscious on the floor; at worst, they’d be sent to the hospital with stomach hemorrhaging.
Xin Yihuan couldn’t watch any longer. “I think we should forget it. Since you all know he’s on good terms with Yu Chucheng, aren’t you afraid Yu Chucheng will cause trouble for you if he finds out?”
Zhuang Yunfei glared at him coldly. “So what if Yu Chucheng knows? Is he really going to go against all of us for the sake of a dog trying to curry favor? You think way too highly of Duan Huaijin.”
Zhuang Yunfei’s best friend chimed in: “Exactly! And you’re being quite tactless. It’s not your place to interrupt when Brother Fei is doing business.”
Xin Yihuan clenched his fingers. Compared to Duan Huaijin, he hated this group in front of him even more. “I may be tactless, but I never use numbers to bully the weak or use status to oppress others.”
The private box fell silent for a moment. Then, someone burst out laughing, and the others followed suit, doubling over as if they had heard a ridiculous joke.
Zhuang Yunfei’s shoulders shook with laughter, causing the wine in his glass to slosh. “How interesting. But this glass of wine is for Duan Huaijin. If you have an issue, the exit is to your left. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.”
Under everyone’s gaze, Duan Huaijin glanced at the livid Xin Yihuan and reached out to take the wine from Zhuang Yunfei.
“Don’t drink it if you don’t want to!” Xin Yihuan roared in surprise.
“Shut up!” someone nearby snapped, finding him noisy, and stood up to shove him.
The beautiful crystal chandelier overhead reflected in the sloshing liquid, and the scent of alcohol was sharp and pungent. Zhuang Yunfei picked at his ear and looked at the indignant Xin Yihuan with a sneer. “What, do you want to drink it for him?”
Xin Yihuan had a low tolerance and was isolated here. Fearing he would be targeted by Zhuang Yunfei later, his anger eventually turned into silent resentment.
“I don’t need him to drink for me,” Duan Huaijin, who had been silent, finally spoke.
Zhuang Yunfei’s frivolous smile grew wider, settling in to enjoy the show.
Duan Huaijin lifted his eyelids, his lips curling into a faint, indifferent arc. “I want you to drink it for me.”
The moment the words left his mouth, Duan Huaijin grabbed Zhuang Yunfei’s collar in front of everyone and forcibly pinched his jaw.
The immense pressure made Zhuang Yunfei instinctively open his mouth to cry out, but before a sound could escape, the strong liquor was poured directly down his throat. His entire throat burned like fire. The spilled wine flowed down his neck as he struggled desperately; wine that had been choked into his windpipe sprayed out from his nose.
“You—you’re crazy!” Everyone froze. Zhuang Yunfei’s best friend hurriedly rushed over to rescue him from Duan Huaijin’s grip.
Zhuang Yunfei coughed violently, his entire face flushed red from choking. Duan Huaijin tossed the glass onto the floor, the sound of shattering glass crisp and loud.
Xin Yihuan was stunned. He thought Duan Huaijin would submit, but instead, the guy went for a direct confrontation. Seemingly sensing Xin Yihuan’s gaze, Duan Huaijin tilted his head and glanced at him.
Xin Yihuan had some backbone, but not enough. Duan Huaijin remembered that in his past life, Xin Yihuan had failed to beat his father’s illegitimate son and was eventually kicked out along with his mother. It was because he was too naive in everything, preferring to be “forgiving where possible.” He was a half-decent gentleman, but a gentleman cannot defeat a villain.
To avoid being stepped on by others, one must be more ruthless than them. Since Xin Yihuan was willing to speak up for him today, Duan Huaijin didn’t mind teaching him a lesson.
Zhuang Yunfei finally caught his breath. “Duan! You’re finished today!”
Duan Huaijin arched an eyebrow and stepped closer. “Is that so? I wouldn’t be so sure.”
Zhuang Yunfei glared at him viciously. “What do you want to do?”
“What do I want to do?” Duan Huaijin raised a hand with composure, brushing Zhuang Yunfei’s collar as if flicking away dust. “I’m just curious why someone with an ‘Alpha-attraction’ (AA) preference insists on pretending to like Omegas in public.”
“What nonsense are you talking about!”
“Whether I’m talking nonsense, you know best. If your parents found out you were into Alphas, do you think they’d beat you to death when you got home? But I bet your younger brother would be thrilled—after all, no one would be left to compete with him for the inheritance.”
Zhuang Yunfei felt as if he had fallen into an ice cellar. The secret he had hidden for so many years had been casually made public just like that.
The Zhuang family had two sons, both Alphas, with similar qualifications. Choosing either to inherit the business would seem like favoritism. Therefore, the family had long ago set a rule: whoever could marry and continue the family line first would gain the inheritance rights.
The others were also stunned by this massive piece of gossip. Those who had been stepped on by Zhuang Yunfei in the past were suddenly excited to finally have dirt on him.
Zhuang Yunfei’s blood boiled, his teeth grinding audibly. “I… I’ll kill you…”
“Don’t be in such a hurry, I know a lot more,” Duan Huaijin smiled slightly, his voice deep and pleasant, sounding like an enchantment—or an instigation. “If you’re afraid someone might leak this secret, drink the wine in front of them. As a reward, I’ll tell you their secrets.”
Suddenly, those who had been gloating couldn’t laugh anymore. These wealthy heirs played hard and had more or less done some shady things. They thought they had hidden them well, but seeing a secret as big as Zhuang Yunfei’s dug up, they lost their confidence. They all lowered their heads, afraid to make eye contact with Zhuang Yunfei.
Dramatically, Zhuang Yunfei didn’t drink from just anyone’s glass. He walked straight to the sofa, picked up his best friend’s cup, and drained it.
“Brother Fei, you—!” The boy who had just rushed over to save him stared with eyes wide in disbelief.
“Cut the crap! Don’t think I don’t know you’ve been unhappy with me for a long time!” Zhuang Yunfei slammed the glass down and stared at Duan Huaijin. “Tell me! What’s his secret!”
Duan Huaijin’s pace of speech was leisurely. “Him? His lower half is useless. To put it simply, he’s impotent. He might not be into Alphas, but he’s essentially in the same boat as you. Otherwise, did you really think he goes to the neighboring city every month just for ‘tourism’?”
The boy’s face turned deathly pale instantly, while Zhuang Yunfei suddenly laughed with delight. “So you were going there for medical treatment!”
He turned toward the next target like a madman.
“His?”
“This one?”
“And his!”
…
To get dirt on everyone, Zhuang Yunfei drank a full round, just as he had demanded of Duan Huaijin. By the end, he reeked of alcohol and was slumped over the coffee table trying to vomit, but only wine came out.
The “bombshells” Duan Huaijin dropped in just a few minutes ranged from personal to family issues. He seemed to just say whatever he knew, but Xin Yihuan noticed he pinpointed the most fatal weakness every time, exposing secrets without mercy. Even those who hadn’t offended him weren’t spared.
“Hah! And here you are acting all noble every day, turns out you’re this filthy behind our backs!”
“You’re no saint either!”
“If you dare tell anyone about my business, I’ll tell your dad you’re sleeping with his mistress!”
If they weren’t still concerned about their status and image, this group probably would have started a hair-pulling brawl. They exposed each other’s flaws, letting secrets fly—it was enough to start an entire gossip forum.
While the group was shouting, an impatient voice suddenly came from outside the door.
“Move. I’m coming in.”
The two servers, acting on Zhuang Yunfei’s earlier orders, blocked the newcomer at the door, preventing him from moving forward.
Yu Chucheng’s gaze turned cold. “I told you to move. Did you not hear me?”
