Be Quiet, This Scumbag Alpha Has The Gaokao - Chapter 1
Xu Ancheng lowered her head and looked at the box being handed to her. “What is this?”
“Your… birthday present.” The girl kept her head half-lowered as she looked at Xu Ancheng’s freshly bandaged arm. “I thought you were going to break up with me today. I didn’t expect you to get hurt saving me. Thank you. Also, I lied to you. I’m not pregnant.”
Xu Ancheng was sitting in the infusion room at the hospital. Her injuries were not serious enough to require a hospital bed. All the scrapes on her body had been disinfected and bandaged, and she was currently receiving anti-inflammatory medication through an IV. The slow drip of medicine gave her time to sort out her thoughts. She stared at the ceiling, which smelled so strongly of disinfectant it might as well have been marinated in it, letting the muddy mess in her mind sink halfway down and rise halfway up, each piece returning to its proper place.
Her name was Xu Ancheng. Originally, it had not been.
She had been a third-rate web novelist, pen name Yuchuan Doesn’t Wash Hands. This book, with its miserably poor subscription numbers, had been written by her.
Xu Ancheng was, without a doubt, the most useless, most garbage scumbag Alpha in this entire book. She was pure cannon fodder. According to the plot, her only purpose was to disgust the readers so badly that both gods and humans would rage against her. Then, amid the universal satisfaction of everyone getting what they wanted, the female lead would personally use her high heel to stomp this rotten piece of trash into the mud, helping herself take the first step onto the path of capital and achieve the initial leap in her personal value.
Counting through the person Xu Ancheng was: aside from not committing murder or arson, not violating criminal law, and not dabbling in sex work, gambling, or drugs, she had done every other immoral thing she could possibly do. As a high-ranking Alpha in an ABO world, born into a wealthy family and blessed with a good face, Xu Ancheng fully possessed the ugly face shared by all second-generation beneficiaries of privilege. She was exquisitely self-serving, selfish and mean, treated herself as supreme, and had especially not one shred of respect for Omegas. She was a rotten, fickle womanizer through and through. Yet she also had an extreme appetite for desire, hating Omegas while craving them at the same time. She was the sort of scum who, after getting into bed, would only be willing to pay for the room and not even buy a gift. She refused to use protection, forced the other party to abort if they got pregnant, and if they were unwilling, she would seize by force, threaten, pressure, bribe, and manipulate. Once she got tired of someone, she would disappear or subject them to cold violence. At twenty-six, her track record could be checked: she had dated no fewer than dozens of Omegas. In her career, she was a complete good-for-nothing as well, relying entirely on the Xu family’s background to throw her weight around in this second-tier city, bullying the weak, aiming too high while being utterly incompetent, looking down on all ordinary people, and possessing a moral bottom line that was practically zero.
Xu Ancheng stared blankly at the information flooding into her mind and began to reflect. If it was true that good and evil would receive their due in the end, then what wrong had she herself committed for Heaven to punish her like this? An author transmigrating into her own book was not such a big deal. Even if she could not transmigrate into the protagonist, becoming some leisurely good person who served as an assist to the protagonist would be perfectly reasonable. But what kind of logic was there in transmigrating into a cannon-fodder piece of trash even she had disliked while writing?
“Are you okay?” the girl asked. The worry in her eyes did not seem fake.
Xu Ancheng shifted backward and carefully tried to remember which one of her dozens of exes this girl was. She had just mentioned “not pregnant,” and before the violent impact that had come in a flash, there had been a traffic accident.
She remembered now.
Just now, originally, she had been taking this girl to the hospital for an abortion.
The girl said, “Why are you covering your face? Did your face get hurt too? Should I call a nurse?”
“No need.” Xu Ancheng adjusted her breathing, stared emptily at the girl, then looked down at the box in her hand.
The latest iPhone 36. This girl’s family background was fairly ordinary, so buying this must have cost her quite a lot of money.
She was the campus belle of a certain Project 211 university, excellent in both character and studies. Previously, Xu Ancheng had set her sights on her and made bets in her circle about how long it would take to win her over, and so on. In the end, a rotten person had done rotten things. After they got together, she was taking the girl to get an abortion. When the original Xu Ancheng encountered the car accident, she had forcibly pushed the girl in front of herself to make sure she came out unharmed. If Xu Ancheng remembered correctly, the girl had been seriously injured, and the child had not survived on the way to the hospital. The person who happened to rush her to the hospital was the female lead, Su Jiu. This incident later became one of the many pieces of evidence Su Jiu used to bring down the Xu family.
Wait.
“You’re not pregnant?” Xu Ancheng asked.
The girl nodded. “No.”
“Don’t lie to me.” Xu Ancheng thought of how utterly lacking in credibility she was and could only do her best to express her sincerity in drawing a clear line between herself and “Xu Ancheng.” “Tell me the truth. Don’t worry, I won’t hurt you. No, I mean, I won’t ever hurt you again. Are you pregnant or not?”
The girl was absolutely certain. “I said that on purpose because I knew you weren’t a good person. It was also so I could give myself closure. If you really took me straight to get an abortion, then I would give up completely and break up with you for good. I heard someone say that you got together with me because of a bet. I figured you were probably tired of me by now too, since you haven’t been enthusiastic with me lately. So I was giving myself a chance to let go. I didn’t expect you to—you’re better than I imagined.”
Xu Ancheng was stunned.
She was the one who had written this book. The girl had indeed been pregnant, and she had indeed damaged her body because of Xu Ancheng. So what was this about not being pregnant?
Could it be that this book had grown legs of its own, and what she, Yuchuan Doesn’t Wash Hands, said no longer counted?
Then again, that made sense.
She had already become Xu Ancheng. What else could possibly be up to her?
Xu Ancheng thought for a moment, pressed the call bell, and summoned a nurse. She took out a card and handed it over. “Please take this young lady for a full physical examination. She was frightened just now, and I’m worried. Deduct the expenses from this card.”
By the time the IV was finished, the girl’s examination was done as well. The results came out quickly through the connected computer system, proving that aside from slightly low blood sugar, she was perfectly healthy and not pregnant.
Xu Ancheng let out a breath of relief. “No matter what, not being pregnant is still better for your health. I’m a person with terrible character. I originally brought you here to get rid of the child, and I wasn’t responsible at all. So let’s break up. I don’t deserve the gift. Take it back and use it yourself or give it to a friend. Also—”
She pulled out her phone, found the girl’s WeChat, and prepared to give her compensation from Xu Ancheng. She had never been a rich wastrel before, so she did not quite know how much money she should transfer to make up for things even a little. She opened Xu Ancheng’s balance, inwardly cursed “capitalist,” and transferred eight hundred thousand.
“There were many things I did wrong to you during this period. I’m very sorry. Just treat it as if you dated a pig. Remember, from now on, don’t have anything to do with that gang of terrible friends around me either. Even if they look good and have good conditions, none of them are decent people. Study hard. If you date, date someone with good character. Mm.”
Xu Ancheng stammered her way through the explanation, carefully put her phone back into her pocket, and looked at the girl. “Hurry up and leave. Don’t stay with trash like me. Oh, it’s a little late. I’ll call you a car.”
The girl pressed her lips together. “But you’re not as bad as I imagined.”
“I am bad! I’m very bad! Aiya, you have no idea how bad I am.” Xu Ancheng hurriedly denied it with great force.
The original owner really did have something going for her. Even after being this rotten, she could still make some Omegas willingly fall for her.
Xu Ancheng messed up her own hair until it was a complete disaster. “You absolutely, absolutely must not develop any unrealistic fantasies about me, or about that bunch of people close to me. Like this—no, if you need to, go find Su Jiu. She can help you deal with me.”
The girl: ??? Who was Su Jiu?
After much coaxing, both gentle and firm, Xu Ancheng finally persuaded her to leave.
When Xu Ancheng finished the IV, the discharge notice listed multiple soft-tissue contusions. Fortunately, there were no fractures. The doctor instructed her to rest quietly after going home and not let her wounds touch water. Xu Ancheng nodded and was about to leave when the doctor tapped his pen against the writing board.
“No sex for three months. Keep suppressants prepared.”
After saying that, he swept her with an icy look and turned to leave.
He must have smelled it—the low-grade, vulgar Alpha scent on her body, all mixed together with the scents of far too many Omegas.
Xu Ancheng sighed. She could not put on her sports jacket. Even she herself could not stand the smell of it, that heavy odor that seemed to have come from who-knew-which nightclub, so she simply left it at the hospital. Wearing only a white T-shirt and long pants, she walked into the September night and made her way to the intersection where the accident had happened.
A runaway bus had come charging straight at Xu Ancheng and the girl, who had been walking on the pedestrian path. At the time, Xu Ancheng had just parked her sports car and was taking the girl across the intersection to the hospital’s obstetrics and gynecology department.
A bus.
Her memory was still not entirely clear. It seemed as though something flashed through her mind for an instant.
“Yo.”
Only after the other person called out to her twice more did she hear him. It was the security guard at the hospital entrance, busy directing traffic.
“You weren’t hurt too badly, right? What a good girl. When she saw the car coming, she pushed her girlfriend out of the way and got hit herself, rolling several times on the ground. You really are a good Alpha.”
Xu Ancheng smiled awkwardly.
Someone who had brought his girlfriend to get an abortion had nothing to do with being a good person no matter how you looked at it.
Her phone had been smashed too. The screen had cracked completely and could not be used at all. She had quite a few injuries on her body, so there was no way she could drive. She walked to the bus stop. Of course, she had plenty of properties in the local area. The bus went straight there, and the door could be unlocked with her fingerprint.
With gauze wrapped around her arm, she sat properly at the bus stop. Suddenly, she felt her throat grow very dry. She thought she was thirsty, but when she considered it carefully, it felt more impulse-inducing than thirst. Her fingers trembled slightly, and every part of her body itched. Only when she reached into her pants pocket did she realize.
Oh. Her cigarette addiction was acting up.
Smoking was one thing, but she was even afraid Xu Ancheng might smoke something else.
She took the cigarettes and lighter out of her pocket, walked over to the trash can, then turned around and walked back. Crossing the intersection, she returned to the hospital entrance and found that security guard.
“I’m quitting. They’re yours,” Xu Ancheng said.
This time, in the security guard’s mind, she went from a good Alpha straight to a great Alpha.
She went home. She could not shower, so she made do with a simple wash. Xu Ancheng lay on the extremely expensive bed. She wanted to turn off the light, but did not know what switch she touched. The lighting in the entire bedroom abruptly changed. Pale pink, water-ripple-like light reflected from the walls onto the bed. Ambiguous music rose together with drumbeats and a woman’s hard-to-suppress breaths. The bed beneath her moved like the tide, cooperating seamlessly with the rhythm of the music. The health watch she had forgotten to take off notified her that her blood pressure had risen to one-fifty.
Xu Ancheng: …
She truly had to hand it to herself.
————————
Not long after Xu Ancheng boarded the bus and left, a young woman dressed in utterly inconspicuous clothes, with a tall, slender figure, walked out of the darkness. She watched as the security guards gathered together to study what limited-edition model the lighter was, and how the cigarettes were also impossible to buy. In the end, the few of them carefully divided them up, two cigarettes each.
She turned and entered the hospital. After a dozen or so minutes, she walked out again.
This was not something that could be explained simply by the four words “the plan has changed.”
Tonight, there should have been a bloody incident here. She had even arrived earlier than she had the previous time.
Having lived one life over again, she intended to avoid many unnecessary injuries in advance.
For example, that girl. Back then, because she had been pushed in front of the vehicle by Xu Ancheng, losing the child had actually been secondary. Her body was left with aftereffects that were difficult to cure. The bright life that had originally belonged to her dimmed from then on, and she became unable to do any decent work. Several years later, she jumped off a building because of depression. Her parents’ hair turned white overnight. Although Su Jiu gave them a great deal of money as compensation, and although Xu Ancheng received her retribution, the elderly couple who had lost their only daughter lived forever in a damp rainy season that would never stop.
Only later did Su Jiu learn that aside from buying groceries and cooking, they never interacted with anyone again until the day they died. Even their deaths had been discovered by the community. The two elderly people died in bed holding hands. One had fallen seriously ill and did not want treatment; the other did not want to live alone. And so, they left behind a will donating all the money in their account.
In this life, Xu Ancheng had indeed never personally killed anyone.
But among those she had indirectly harmed, this was only one of them.
During this period, Su Jiu had already done several things, saved several people, and avoided many of the wrong turns and detours her career had taken back then. She had laid things out in advance, and everything was moving in a smoother and faster direction than it had the last time. Yet at this moment, she had discovered that a predetermined event had undergone an earth-shattering change.
Xu Ancheng had pushed the girl away and gotten hit herself, while the girl had never been pregnant at all.
For the first time, there had been a fundamental deviation in events.
Could this be an aftereffect caused by her changing history?
If that was true, then her golden finger as a reborn person might end here.
Su Jiu’s delicate chin was hidden inside her hardshell jacket. Biting her lip, she thought: Otherwise, why not castrate Xu Ancheng ahead of time and be done with it? A thing that brought disaster to the world should be dealt with early. That way, in a little while, she would not have to marry her.

Gaokao: China’s national college entrance examination. It is extremely competitive and often treated as a major turning point in a student’s life.
