Dragging My Legitimate Elder Sister into the Bed - Chapter 8
After finishing morning greetings, Su Xi returned to her room and sat at the table drinking tea.
From time to time, she lifted her gaze toward Su Qian, who was sitting quietly opposite her holding a teacup.
When she woke up that morning, her clothes were in complete disarray. Large patches of skin were exposed, and her breasts were completely uncovered, rubbing directly against the bedding.
She had always had a proper sleeping posture and never moved around much, so when she opened her eyes and saw the scene, she sat frozen on the bed for a long time.
The person opposite seemed to sense something. The next time Su Xi looked over, Su Qian had already raised her head in advance and caught her gaze.
After staring at each other quietly for a long while, Su Xi lowered her head again, took a sip of tea, and continued thinking with downcast eyes.
After sitting for a while, she walked to the bookshelf, brought over some books, and bent down slightly in front of Su Qian.
The books were spread out one by one on the table, filling the air with a rich fragrance.
Su Xi stood by the table, positioned beside Su Qian. She casually picked up one book and flipped through it, but most of her attention was actually on Su Qian.
There was no movement or reaction from her.
The pages in Su Xi’s hands rustled. Soon after, the sound of flipping pages also came from beside her.
Su Xi let out a soft breath.
Her mind gradually sank into the books. Unknowingly, she had already been standing for three quarters of an hour. Only when Su Qian pulled her onto her lap did she realize her waist was already sore and aching.
Su Xi put down the book, reached for the teacup, and moistened her lips.
Su Qian held her in her arms. In front of her was Su Xi’s slightly protruding shoulder blade.
One hand rubbed her sore and soft waist, while the other rested on her lower abdomen.
The aching, bloated feeling eased from the hand rubbing her waist. Su Xi relaxed her body and leaned back against her.
She hadn’t slept well last night. She kept feeling hot and restless, tossing and turning, which must have messed up her clothes…
Feeling somewhat dazed, Su Xi closed her eyes for a moment.
Suddenly, a light stroke moved across her chest — from her lower abdomen to her waist, hovering in the air for a moment, then lightly tapping and pressing down on her chest.
A chill ran down her back. Su Xi opened her eyes, reached up and grabbed the hand that had stopped on her chest, breathing slightly, “Qianqian, what are you doing?”
“Shanzhong point, Qihai point. Helping you regulate your qi.” Su Qian met her gaze.
Her eyes had always been very calm. Su Xi looked into them thoughtfully but could only withdraw her gaze without finding anything.
She gently pushed the hand away and stood back at the table.
“Qianqian, you’ve grown up,” she sat back in her seat and flipped through the book in her hands. “When interacting with Kun Ze, you should pay attention to proper boundaries…”
“Including Sister?”
Su Xi withdrew her gaze, nodded, took a sip of tea, and continued reading the book in her hands.
Come to think of it, she had been careless and hadn’t taken Su Qian’s differentiation seriously enough.
The chair opposite made a light sound, followed by the sound of Su Qian walking toward the door.
“I’m going to the study pavilion.”
Su Xi looked up at the slender figure of the girl leaving and pondered silently.
Is she angry…
Only after watching her step out the door did she lower her head back to her book.
No matter what, they really did need to start minding boundaries.
As Su Qian stepped out the door, Yan Si, who had been waiting outside, quickly followed. The moment she approached, she smelled the peach wood scent lingering on her master.
Her eyes glanced downward under the skirt. Sure enough…
“Master, do you have someone you like?” Yan Si lowered her head to watch the road, not daring to look anymore.
When she returned last night, her master was already like this. And again early this morning. She didn’t know which maid in the mansion it was, but she would probably be taken into the room soon.
Great, she would have one more person to serve in the future…
“Like?” Su Qian paused in her steps.
She turned around and asked Yan Si, “What does ‘like’ mean?”
Yan Si was stunned but not too surprised. However, when asked to explain, she stammered and couldn’t say it clearly.
Su Qian turned back around. “To the study pavilion.”
“Oh… okay.”
Meanwhile, in Su Xi’s room, someone came hurrying over to report.
“Eldest Miss, Young Master Chen from the Chen family has arrived. Aunt and Old Ancestor are calling for you.”
Su Xi put down her book and nodded.
They came so quickly…
In the garden.
Chen Cang waited here with his servant, shifting his weight from his left foot to his right, then from right to left, constantly fidgeting.
Even though he was hiding in a shaded area, he still felt extremely irritable.
“Young Master, please be patient a little longer. You should be able to see her soon.”
The servant kept wiping his sweat and carefully comforting him.
The lord had instructed that this marriage was arranged by the previous generation. Even if the young master insisted on breaking it off, he had to coax him to at least meet the person first.
Chen Cang glanced sideways at him, blocked the handkerchief reaching toward him, and wiped his sweat with his own sleeve.
He had heard since childhood that he had a fiancée, but he had never seen her despite growing up. Even if he didn’t like her, he at least had to see what kind of person had been tied to him, Chen Cang, for so many years…
Su Xi followed Concubine He into the garden. Under the long corridor, two figures — one in rose-red and one in light green — walked gracefully toward them.
The one in rose-red was adorned with pearls and jade, looking slightly older. She was the Concubine He whom Chen Cang had just seen in the hall.
Half a step behind her was a girl wearing a short jacket embroidered with bamboo, a moon-white pleated skirt, a light green waist belt tied with jade carved with wind and mist patterns, and an outer half-sleeve that faded in color.
A cool breeze blew under the corridor. The girl moved like flowing wind and drifting snow. Her skirt fluttered, and the jade at her side appeared and disappeared.
Her delicate side hair swayed gently beside her snow-jade cheeks. Her eyes were clear and tranquil, as if containing vast misty waves.
The servant, who was still chattering nonstop for fear that his young master would get impatient and leave, had not noticed that the previously sloppy young master had quietly straightened his posture.
Su Xi was listening to He-shi’s low instructions: when she meets Young Master Chen later, she must not show fear, must not act coy, and must not lose etiquette, or it would damage the Su family’s reputation.
She nodded in agreement one by one, but suddenly felt as if someone was secretly watching her. Her brows furrowed slightly and her steps paused.
He-shi was internally complaining about where this Young Master Chen had run off to hide in the shade, making them search so hard, when suddenly a person emerged from behind the artificial mountain.
“Concubine He, forgive my rudeness. This humble one saw the beautiful scenery here and took shelter from the heat in the rockery for a while.” After the purple-robed young man finished speaking, he turned toward the girl standing to the side and greeted her.
“—This must be Sister Su Xi.”
Su Xi gave a slight nod and returned the greeting. When she raised her eyes, her gaze flowed gracefully.
The young man paused again, then lowered his brows and said to Su Xi, “I am Chen Cang, courtesy name Wanchao, taken from the meaning of ‘sending light rain into the dusk’…”
His voice was clear and resonant as he spoke eloquently.
“Pfft.” Concubine He covered her mouth with her sleeve and laughed softly. Knowing the matter was settled, she prepared to leave and give the two some space.
This was the first time Su Xi had been teased like this. The gentle affection in the young man’s words left her momentarily unsure how to respond. She stood frozen in place.
