Chapter 10
Huo Wan was truly angry.
Her personality was the kind that was very easy to approach, and she gave people a very gentle impression.
It was probably because she had been influenced by what she saw and heard at home for a long time. The ancestors of the Huo family had been barefoot doctors, and the reputation passed down from generation to generation had been built up bit by bit by their descendants.
Grandpa always said that people who treated illnesses could not be impatient or restless. They had to quiet down and settle their hearts before they could make the most accurate judgment. Otherwise, it would be very easy to delay someone’s treatment.
This was the first time she had ever lost her temper in front of so many people, and it could be considered a complete overturning of her classmates’ image of her as a sweet goddess.
Even Lin Dang, who had grown up with her for so many years, had never seen Huo Wan’s fur bristling like this.
“This classmate, I’ll have to trouble you not to put your hands on people, all right?”
At this moment, Huo Wan carried an aura of her own. She glared at Huang Xuan in annoyance, no longer caring how other people looked at her.
Her gaze was fixed entirely on the part of Lin Dang’s clothes that had been grabbed.
In three steps that became two, she walked over to Huang Xuan, who had been bluffed into freezing, and unceremoniously slapped his hand away. Then she used her own body to shield Lin Dang behind her. Mm… she blocked her quite thoroughly.
At this moment, she was like a little lion with all its fur standing on end, ready to bite whoever came close.
She had to protect Dangdang and could not let her be hurt.
In middle school, most boys were still quite short and had not yet begun developing.
Girls, however, were different.
With the arrival of her period, Huo Wan could very clearly feel her body undergoing new changes every day. Recently, it was as if she had taken medicine—her height had been shooting up rapidly.
So at this moment, standing face-to-face with Huang Xuan could not exactly be called looking at each other. Saying she was looking down on him from above would not be wrong either.
Huang Xuan knew Huo Wan. He also knew that this pair of sister flowers had an unbelievably good relationship. Usually, when joking with the boys in class, he would say that whoever could win over this pair of sister flowers would be seriously impressive.
The back of his hand had been slapped with considerable force, and now it burned with pain.
Height was his weak point. He did not want to be crushed so obviously, nor did he want to look up at Huo Wan.
So he took a small step back, widening the distance between them. At least this way, he did not have to look up.
“Sister Huo, what do you think of me being your little sister’s boyfriend?”
Huang Xuan seemed to feel quite good about himself. The moment he opened his mouth, he called her Sister Huo, his tone frivolous and cheap. Huo Wan’s eyes nearly rolled all the way to the sky.
Although Huo Wan usually looked refined and polite in front of Lin Dang and was always fond of acting spoiled with her, if she were taken out on her own, her ability to act was still very strong.
After all, she was also the class monitor elected by Class Two.
Her gaze quickly swept around the classroom.
“The class monitor of Class One, go call the teacher back. What are the class officers even doing? Where’s the PE representative? A girl in your class has been bullied, and all the boys in the whole class know how to do is watch the show? A bunch of cowards!”
Her voice was not loud, but her presence was more than enough. She knew she could not confront him head-on and needed to borrow momentum.
Because of these words, the area both inside and outside the classroom began to stir, discussions breaking out everywhere. Some students from other classes, who were not afraid of things getting bigger, also joined in mocking the boys of Class One.
The little brothers who had come with Huang Xuan felt that this little girl Huo Wan was far too arrogant, using her good looks as an excuse to put on airs.
So one after another, they walked over, looking as if they wanted to make a move.
The PE representative was a tall boy. He usually liked playing basketball and had a sturdy build.
When he heard Huo Wan open her mouth and scold them, he could no longer hold back. Now, seeing this shameless group actually trying to have a bunch of boys bully two girls, he stood up with his face flushed red and walked toward Huo Wan and Lin Dang.
The other boys in the class also began standing up one after another…
At the end of the day, they were one group.
Only after being scolded by Huo Wan right to their faces did they feel terribly embarrassed. Lin Dang had helped them plenty of times too.
The two sides formed a standoff, and it looked as if the slightest mishandling would turn into a group fight.
At that moment, an obvious commotion suddenly came from the corridor outside. The crowd that had originally packed the outside so tightly that not even water could pass through suddenly scattered like the tide. Immediately afterward, the grade director’s furious roar came from outside:
“Huang Xuan, get out here!”
…..
“Huo Wan, what were you doing!”
“What if he hit you? He’s a thug. Why were you picking a fight with him!”
On the way home after school, Lin Dang kept a dark expression and did not speak. No matter how Huo Wan coaxed or persuaded her, the other girl ignored her.
She roughly knew that Lin Dang was angry, but Huo Wan felt that she had not done anything wrong. If it happened again, she would still choose to do the same thing.
She was completely justified.
“Why are you being fierce to me! Don’t tell me you actually want to be that smelly guy’s girlfriend?”
Seriously, I helped you, and you’re still being fierce to me!
Huo Wan felt a little wronged and thought Lin Dang was being somewhat unreasonable. At this moment, she had no mind at all to analyze that Lin Dang was afraid she would get beaten, which was why she had spoken so harshly.
Her ears had selectively heard only the first part.
“You still dare to say that! I’m going to tell Auntie Xiao and let her see what kind of wonderful thing you did today. You’re getting more and more capable.”
Lin Dang was almost angered to death by her words. Her tone and way of speaking were still as stiff as ever, completely treating Huo Wan like an ignorant younger sister.
What did she mean, did she want to be Huang Xuan’s girlfriend?
Was that how those words should be said?
Yet the more she was like this, the more she stirred up Huo Wan’s rebellious streak. Huo Wan had long since had enough of this self-righteous manner of hers, always speaking in an educating tone.
As if she herself would forever be the one who did not know any better.
“Fine, go ahead and say it. Anyway, the person who was confessed to in public today was you. If you’re not afraid of your family knowing, then say it.”
Huo Wan was so angry that she laughed instead. She had not expected Lin Dang to actually want to complain to her mother. Every time they had argued before, she had always softened first, but this time, she did not want to.
“You really are unreasonable.”
“I can’t be bothered talking to you. Walk by yourself today!”
Huo Wan was so angry her eyes turned red. Her hands gripped the straps of her schoolbag tightly, and she turned around in a huff, storming off toward another road.
By the time Lin Dang reacted, Huo Wan had already walked far away at a brisk pace. Her brows furrowed and then relaxed again. She hesitated in her heart, but in the end, she still did not choose to chase after her.
Huo Wan walked alone on the way home. At first, she was so furious that she quickened her steps, but after walking for a while, she gradually slowed down.
She turned back to look at the street behind her. There were only a few scattered figures on the road, and she did not see the person she wanted to see.
So angry that she stomped in place!
She kicked the fire hydrant by the roadside, and in the next instant, her expression twisted for a moment.
It hurt so much!
Damn Lin Dang, stinky Lin Dang! She said such awful things and still did not chase after her to coax her. She was so mad!
The more she thought about it, the angrier she became. Nothing in her heart felt comfortable, and she was holding back a breath with nowhere to vent it.
So she took out her phone from her pocket, opened the text message interface, and with several fingers tapping rapidly, typed out a few words before sending it.
I’m so mad. We’re done!
