No Longer Escaping (ABO) - Chapter 37
It hadn’t been cleaned in years and was full of mold, dust, and a foul smell that made her wrinkle her nose.
The completely dark cell was only lit by a faint firelight.
She struggled to prop herself up.
The hard, dry weeds poked her hands.
Her head was still throbbing.
Those bandits were so brutal.
She slowly remembered the scene of being robbed.
She remembered that her grandpa had been hit by them.
Where was he now?!
Li Cui’er anxiously stood up and began to frantically look around for her grandpa.
She saw a person huddled in the corner of the cell and walked over.
“Grandpa? Is that you?”
But when she got closer, she realized it was a woman.
Her grandpa wasn’t in this cell at all.
“Grandpa!” she shouted, hoping her grandpa would answer her.
“Grandpa!”
“Shut the hell up!” the bandit guarding the cell yelled angrily.
“Where is my grandpa?!” Li Cui’er looked at the front of the cell.
The bandit was sitting at a table not far away.
“How would I know? You’re not the one I robbed. There was only you when you arrived. There was no old man.” The bandit said, throwing a few soybeans into his mouth.
There was also a pot of wine next to him.
He was living a good life.
After hearing what he said, Li Cui’er panicked even more.
Her grandpa might have already…
She had to find a way to escape.
She carefully observed the cell.
The door was made of logs, the walls were stone and sealed tightly, and there were no windows.
She swept away the weeds on the floor and found that the floor was also stone.
She figured this cell was set up in a cave.
There was no way to escape except through the door.
There was no chance of escape, which made Li Cui’er very disappointed.
She sat down against the wall, disheartened, and rubbed her throbbing temples.
After a long time of thinking, she realized she wasn’t alone in the cell.
She looked at the woman huddled in the corner.
She slowly approached her and sat down next to her.
“My name is Li Cui’er…”
She didn’t answer her and just huddled in place.
Li Cui’er noticed that she was trembling.
“Have you been locked up for a long time?”
“…” She still didn’t answer.
She didn’t even acknowledge Li Cui’er’s presence.
She buried her head in her hands.
Her hair was messy, and a few dry weeds were stuck in it.
Li Cui’er looked at the weeds and kindly reached out to pick them off for her.
The woman trembled and instinctively tried to avoid her.
It seemed like she was afraid of people, like a small animal that had encountered a stranger.
Seeing her like this, Li Cui’er no longer touched her.
She quietly sat next to her without saying a word, but in her mind, she was still thinking about how to escape.
Yang Lulong and her group knew the location of the bandits’ camp like the back of their hand.
And these idiots, even after being attacked once, didn’t move and continued to live here.
They found a good observation spot outside the bandit’s lair and waited for an opportunity.
Seeing that the bandits were drinking and carousing, completely oblivious to any danger, they became more hopeful of success.
As night fell…
The bandits were all drunk, either continuing to drink or already passed out.
There were very few who were sober.
Yang Lulong saw that the time was right, and the three of them began to act.
In the cell, Li Cui’er was starting to feel sleepy, her head nodding.
The sudden arrival of a bandit made her fully awake.
The bandit was holding a half-empty pot of wine.
He reeked of alcohol.
He staggered over and opened the cell door.
He was probably too drunk to remember to close the door.
He walked straight toward the two of them.
He grabbed the woman next to him and mumbled, “I’ll start with you…”
“What are you doing?” Li Cui’er quickly grabbed her, not letting the bandit pull her away.
Li Cui’er finally saw the woman’s face.
Under her long hair, half of her face was rotting, red and pale.
As she was stunned by the woman’s appearance, the bandit slammed a wine pot on her head.
A crisp shattering sound echoed throughout the cell.
Li Cui’er cried out in pain and let go, covering the spot where she was hit.
Her ears were ringing, and blood was flowing from her forehead.
“You’re next!”
The bandit pulled the woman away, threw her to the side, and got on top of her, untying his clothes.
The woman didn’t resist at all.
She just lay on the ground, trembling, no longer able to even scream.
After Li Cui’er’s consciousness slowly returned, she saw the bandit on top of the woman.
She also saw the open cell door.
This was a good time to escape while the woman was being harassed.
But when she saw the despair in the woman’s eyes, she remembered the broken pieces of the wine pot on the floor.
She quickly picked up a piece and quietly went behind the bandit.
She slashed his neck with all her might.
Blood immediately gushed out.
He looked on in horror and tried to cover the cut on his neck with his hands, but it was no use.
He eventually fell into his own pool of blood.
Li Cui’er had used a lot of force, and the shard had also cut her hand, but she didn’t have time to care.
She pulled the woman up.
“Let’s go!”
The two of them escaped the cell and realized that the outside was already in chaos.
The bandit’s lair was on fire.
The flames mercilessly consumed everything.
The bandits who were passed out drunk scattered like birds.
People on fire were screaming in the sea of flames.
Yang Lulong and her group’s plan was flawless, but they were unexpectedly discovered by the few remaining patrolling bandits.
Feng Aoshuang was afraid that he would expose them, so she went to deal with him, but the torch he was holding accidentally set the place on fire.
The fire spread quickly, and Yang Lulong and her group were also discovered.
Now, Li Cui’er saw Yang Lulong and her group surrounded and fighting with the bandits.
Li Cui’er knew they were there to save her.
She immediately shouted to tell them that she had escaped.
“Yang Lulong! Get out of here!”
Yang Lulong heard her voice and was distracted.
She looked at Li Cui’er and didn’t notice a bandit behind her swinging his saber at her.
“Watch out!”
Feng Aoshuang quickly rushed over and used her sword to block the bandit’s large saber.
But the man was so strong that his saber broke the sword and cut Feng Aoshuang’s chest.
Yang Lulong finally reacted.
She quickly killed the man and helped the injured Feng Aoshuang.
She said to Zhang Long, “Brother Zhang, let’s go.”
As soon as they escaped the burning bandit’s lair, they ran into Li Cui’er and the woman.
They quickly got into the carriage.
Yang Lulong saw that Zhang Long was heading toward the city and quickly told him, “The clinic is already closed. We can only go back to Wan Niang’s.”
“Okay!” Zhang Long immediately sped up, turning the horses toward the village.
“Feng Aoshuang?! Are you still awake?” Yang Lulong looked back at Feng Aoshuang, who was lying in the carriage.
“I don’t think I’ll be awake for much longer…” Feng Aoshuang said weakly.
The stab wound on her chest was excruciatingly painful, but she was slowly losing consciousness.
“Don’t you dare fall asleep! Hold on for a little longer!” Li Cui’er quickly went to slap her face to keep her awake.
“I’m not asleep yet…” Feng Aoshuang said helplessly.
“Giddy up! Giddy up!” Zhang Long shouted in a hurry, whipping the horses.
By the time they got back to the village, it was almost dawn.
As soon as they got to the front door, Yang Lulong quickly picked up Feng Aoshuang and got out of the carriage.
As she rushed into the yard, she heard the cries of a baby.
“Hey! Wake up! You’re a mother!” Yang Lulong said excitedly to Feng Aoshuang.
“…” She didn’t respond.
“Wan Niang!” Yang Lulong immediately shouted for her.
Wan Niang, who was in the room, was sitting by Ren Xuemeng’s bed, gently taking care of her and the baby.
When she suddenly heard Yang Lulong’s voice, she rushed out to check.
She saw Yang Lulong holding Feng Aoshuang, who was covered in blood.
Yang Lulong looked at Wan Niang.
“Please, save her…”
