Seducing and Flirting with Boss O While Stockpiling in the Apocalypse (GL) - Chapter 47
The difference between the inside and outside of this yacht was staggering. From the outside, it looked small and incapable of holding many people, but once inside, it was like a luxury suite. Sofas, a refrigerator, appliances, a bathroom, and even beds… the facilities were remarkably complete.
Su Rong’s group remained lost in a long-lasting state of shock. Nan Chu had already plopped down on the sofa, using a wet towel to wipe the foul-smelling blood from her face.
Luo Xiaoli sat beside her, gasping for breath. Fortunately, her daughter had explained the “space” to her beforehand, so she was relatively accepting of the boat’s interior.
However, she had been terrified on the previous boat. As an older woman, she couldn’t fight off the zombies and could only huddle to the side with a rod, desperate not to be a burden to her daughter.
When she saw Nan Shuwan nearly get bitten, her heart almost stopped. Luckily, everyone was safe. Now that they were all sitting in this boat, she felt immense relief and took a moment to recover on the sofa.
Nan Shuwan, for her part, regained her composure after a few seconds. She immediately poured a glass of water for Luo Xiaoli. “Auntie, have some water. Catch your breath.”
Luo Xiaoli accepted it with a smile. Her throat was parched, so she drained it in one go. After finishing, she asked worriedly, “Wanwan, are you okay?”
“Don’t worry, I’m fine.” Nan Shuwan poured another glass and took it to Luo Sheng at the helm. Seeing her soaked through and sweating at the forehead, she couldn’t help but wipe it for her. “Here, for you.”
Luo Sheng turned to say thank you, but before she could take the glass, it was already at her lips. Nan Shuwan arched an eyebrow. “Open up.”
Luo Sheng froze, blinking a few times. She felt embarrassed, but she didn’t refuse. Under the other’s gaze, she obediently allowed Nan Shuwan to feed her the water.
Once finished, she glanced uncomfortably behind her to see if anyone was watching, the tips of her ears turning slightly red.
Seeing this, Qiao Bai immediately poured a glass for Yang Suitong, patting her girlfriend’s back to soothe the shock from earlier. Both had fought hard, and their complexions still looked poor.
Liu Lin, having finished observing the yacht, began to act reserved. From the sudden appearance of the assault boats to this peculiar yacht, every sign pointed to the fact that this cold, mysterious, and beautiful woman was definitely not simple…
Liu Lin felt a mix of apprehension and secret admiration. However, she didn’t ask questions. Someone with this kind of ability surely wouldn’t like their secrets being pried into, so Liu Lin sat hesitantly on the edge of the opposite sofa, clutching her knife.
Su Rong and Feng Xi shared the same thought. Clearly, this young woman had many hidden secrets, but since Luo Sheng had saved them, she was their benefactor. Now that they were following her, it was best to keep their mouths shut.
After exchanging a look, Su Rong and Feng Xi sat down with a sense of security.
With this yacht manifested from the space, Luo Sheng controlled it with her mind as easily as a fish in water. The suicidal zombies slammed into it, but they couldn’t budge it an inch. The highly aggressive spiral blades shredded the monsters into pieces.
Luo Sheng deliberately circled the area, clearing the water of zombies to ensure they wouldn’t follow them to the new residence. Finally, she steered the yacht steadily toward the southwest, finally sighting the old building Nan Shuwan had mentioned.
The building was shorter than their previous apartment, standing about thirteen stories high. The floors below the water level were submerged. Since it was an abandoned building, it was uninhabited.
Arriving at such a secluded spot meant they would have peace and quiet without interference or zombie attacks. They could live here comfortably for a while.
There were no elevators—only stairs—but with the power out, elevators wouldn’t have worked anyway. The hallway was very drafty and lacked cover. Luo Sheng parked the yacht at the edge of the tenth floor and told everyone to get out.
With a thought, the yacht floating on the water turned back into a swirl of golden information, settling around Luo Sheng’s wrist as a bracelet-like mark.
The others watched in awe, marveling at the magical sight. Su Rong’s group, who knew nothing of the space, wondered if Luo Sheng was an alien who had come to Earth.
However, the rain was still pouring. Everyone was already soaked to the bone, so they didn’t linger. Nan Shuwan led them upstairs.
The building had one unit per floor. After climbing a few stories, they reached the top floor, the thirteenth. Nan Shuwan produced a key, and with a light twist, the door opened. A dusty smell wafted out—it clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a long time.
She waved her hand to clear the dust, sneezing once, then invited everyone inside. This place was even larger than the apartment Luo Sheng had rented. It could easily accommodate the nine of them, though the furniture was covered in a thick layer of gray.
But at this point, they couldn’t be picky. Once inside, Nan Shuwan locked the door. The windows provided a good view from several high-vantage points. After resting for a bit, Luo Sheng decided to do a major cleaning.
Though they were exhausted, it was necessary; they couldn’t live in such filth.
Luo Sheng retrieved several buckets of water from her space, along with dish soap and cleaning supplies. The house already had rags and mops. Except for Luo Xiaoli, who sat down to rest, everyone else rolled up their sleeves and got to work.
The old bedsheets and covers were tossed aside to be used as rags, and Luo Sheng replaced them all with new ones. This suite was truly massive, and there was even a mezzanine attic. Fortunately, there were many of them working together, or they would never have finished.
Several buckets of water were used up instantly. To avoid wasting drinking water, Luo Sheng filled several more large buckets of tap water from her villa in the space. After several hours of collective effort, the two floors were scrubbed clean, and the dirty water was tossed out.
The place looked brand new. Seeing the clean house made them feel much better, but everyone was drained. Qiao Bai and Nan Chu collapsed onto the sofa, groaning, “I can’t… I really can’t move anymore!”
Everyone smelled of sweat and blood, which was becoming unbearable even to themselves. Luo Sheng used coal briquettes to boil several large pots of hot water. Once it boiled, they took turns showering in the bedrooms. Luo Sheng provided everyone with new sweaters and down jackets.
After their hot showers, everyone felt refreshed and smelled clean, the odors of the day gone. It finally felt like they could sit down and rest.
Suddenly, Liu Lin’s stomach growled, drawing everyone’s attention. Her face flushed with embarrassment. Luo Sheng realized that after a long day of work, and with the sky darkening, it was time for dinner.
However, she didn’t have the energy to cook a feast, so she brought out stockpiled instant noodles and self-heating rice for everyone to choose from. A simple meal to fill their stomachs.
When you’re this hungry, anything tastes like a delicacy. Everyone slurped their noodles with gusto. Nan Chu finished one cup and, still hungry, started a second. They huddled around the coal-burning heater table, feeling warm and cozy.
While eating, Liu Lin suddenly burst into tears. Sitting there eating in safety made her think of her mother. The pain finally exploded, and she couldn’t stop the tears no matter how she tried.
She hadn’t told the others that her mother had died, so they were unaware, but Luo Sheng had mostly guessed it. A young girl with no family by her side in this situation had surely experienced a life-and-death parting. The pain of losing family was a heavy, devastating blow.
Luo Sheng ate her self-heating rice but didn’t pry. Not wanting to rub salt in the wound, she simply handed over some tissues and comforted her softly, “Wipe your face. The road ahead is one you have to walk on your own.”
Liu Lin turned her head, feeling ashamed, but she gave a muffled “Mhm,” took the tissues, and wiped her eyes. This person had not only saved her but was now comforting her; Liu Lin didn’t know how to repay her. She stole a few glances at Luo Sheng before looking down again.
Qiao Bai also warmly comforted Liu Lin, telling a few “cold jokes” to try and lighten the mood. Sure enough, the atmosphere became a bit less heavy.
By the time they finished eating, they had no energy left. Everyone chose a room and went to sleep. Luo Sheng climbed the stairs to the mezzanine attic. The ceiling was low, requiring her to stoop, but there was a glass canopy facing the sky; lying down, she could look outside.
Unfortunately, there were no stars to see—only pitch-black clouds.
Luo Sheng lay there quietly without closing her eyes. Then she saw Nan Shuwan climbing up as well. She turned her head and arched an eyebrow in confusion. “Why are you up here too?”
Nan Shuwan lay down beside Luo Sheng with her blanket, acting nonchalant. “What, am I not welcome?”
Hardly…
Luo Sheng felt herself grow tense as the other woman pressed close to her.
“The rooms downstairs are all taken. The others are two to a room, while Nan Chu and the girl Liu Lin have singles. I’m not sleepy and didn’t want to disturb Auntie, so I could only come to disturb you.”
Lying down, Nan Shuwan also saw the sky through the glass. In this setting, Luo Sheng looked at her profile and felt an inexplicable sense of allure. Perhaps her features were just too glamorous—especially those upturned eyes, which currently made her look like a spirit from a ghost story.
In the silence, Luo Sheng thought back to the day’s events. Clearing her throat, she couldn’t help but advise, “In the future… put yourself first in everything.”
It was a firm statement, yet her voice stammered, making her sound a bit timid. Nan Shuwan suddenly looked over, her eyes as moving as a pool of water. The corners of her mouth curled up, her voice light and airy. “Are you scolding me… or worrying about me?”
The breathy tone was elusive, like the fur on a fox’s tail brushing against her palm.
Luo Sheng was stunned and actually thought about it. She really was scolding her, but she was also… worrying about her.
Scolding her for not protecting herself and taking a bite for her instead—what would have happened if she’d actually been bitten?! The more Luo Sheng thought about it, the more worried she became. She couldn’t let that happen again!
But at the same time, a small crack appeared in the window of her heart. This person had risked her life to save her… aside from her mother, she truly couldn’t believe someone would treat her this way. She asked tentatively, “Why did you do that today?”
Nan Shuwan answered frankly, “I didn’t want to see you get hurt. I just did it instinctively. I get very anxious if you’re in danger…”
As she spoke, she moved closer. Luo Sheng sensed her pleasant fragrance, and her breathing grew heavier. The words made the tips of her ears turn red again, luckily hidden by the darkness.
Luo Sheng thought for a moment and finally issued another command-like piece of advice: “Then… you have to do the same. I don’t allow you to get hurt.”
She was cold and bossy, yet her toughness was somehow soft and sweet—no wonder her nickname was Nuonuo.
Nan Shuwan chuckled. She always found Luo Sheng’s bossiness strangely endearing… her tone held a hint of excitement, perhaps even a touch of teasing. She leaned in and whispered into the other’s ear, “Okay, then. I’ll listen to everything you say, Master…”
