Seducing and Flirting with Boss O While Stockpiling in the Apocalypse (GL) - Chapter 46
The driving force of this model of small assault boat was average, but it was considerably faster than a manual inflatable raft. Once the engine started, water splashed instantly, sending ripples outward. Luo Sheng held the steering wheel, heading southwest according to Nan Shuwan’s directions.
The other boat followed closely behind Luo Sheng’s group, with Su Rong at the helm. The others remained vigilant, standing tall with weapons in hand, their eyes constantly scanning the water’s surface, terrified of being overtaken by the underwater zombie horde.
The first few minutes were relatively smooth, but the heavy rain began to intensify, bringing pea-sized hailstones that pelted their bodies. The wind whipped hair across everyone’s faces, and as they moved forward, the obstacles in the water increased.
Large rocks and snapped tree trunks, washed from who-knows-where, blocked their path. The dim light and continuous rain heavily obstructed Luo Sheng’s vision, causing the assault boat to occasionally scrape against submerged debris with a harsh, grating sound.
Su Rong’s group, following behind, found the navigation even more difficult. Their boat jolted and stumbled through the water; Liu Lin, unable to keep her balance while standing, was forced to sit down.
In theory, the two-kilometer journey wasn’t far, but the environmental factors caused them to stall in this area for a long time. Like a school of fish gathering for a meal, the zombies in the water began to cluster at the rear and gradually caught up, while the occupants of the two boats remained unaware of the approaching danger.
Suddenly, with a crack, Su Rong’s boat seemed to be blocked by something and stopped moving. She thought they had hit another rock; fearing that forcing the engine against the resistance would damage the boat, Feng Xi, sitting at the edge, leaned over to check the water.
The moment she extended her neck, a charred hand with sharp nails suddenly shot out of the water toward her throat. Feng Xi screamed, scrambling back several steps into the boat, shrieking, “Zombies… there are zombies!”
Liu Lin was also horrified. She instinctively raised her knife and slashed at the hand; the force was so great that several of the zombie’s fingers were severed and landed inside the boat.
Su Rong frantically turned the wheel, but she felt resistance on all sides, as if the hull of the boat were being held firmly by something below. Feng Xi and Liu Lin stood up, and upon seeing the situation in the water, their faces turned deathly pale.
Hordes of zombies were surfacing, their white eyes rolled back as they surrounded the boat completely. A dense, black mass of even more zombies swam in from all directions—a sight that made the three women’s skin crawl.
Luo Sheng’s side was in the same predicament. One zombie had already grabbed the edge of the hull and pulled half its body onto the boat. Nan Shuwan raised her iron rod, shouted a warning to Nan Chu, and slammed it forcefully into the zombie’s face, knocking its teeth out.
Luo Sheng tried to maneuver the boat to shake them off, but the zombies gathered in increasing numbers. Several began crawling up from the front. Luo Sheng made a few emergency turns but eventually had to release the steering wheel and leap up from the driver’s seat.
She delivered a flying kick to one zombie, sending it straight back into the water, then flipped her knife and drove it directly into the heart of another lunging attacker, causing the monster to go limp instantly.
She shouted to the others, “Remember to attack the heart!”
A few days ago, while still at the apartment, Luo Sheng had reached her 80th day of signing in, adding another point to her Speed. Now possessing four points of Strength and two points of Speed, she was the strongest and most agile person present.
Dealing with a few zombies was well within her capability, but as the numbers increased and the zombies began a coordinated swarm, even Luo Sheng started to feel the strain.
One group of monsters clung to the bottom and sides of the boat, pinning it in place, while another group used the submerged bodies as stepping stones to frantically crowd onto the deck.
Caught up in the fray, Luo Sheng momentarily lost track of her back. Nan Shuwan shouted anxiously, “Watch your back, look out!” before running over and throwing herself in front of Luo Sheng.
A zombie lunged, biting into Nan Shuwan’s arm, its body twisting violently. Nan Shuwan hissed in terror and struck it with her iron rod, but she couldn’t dislodge it.
Luo Sheng turned and was horrified. Seeing this scene, her rage burned to its peak. She swung her blade with all her might, decapitating the zombie. Blood sprayed from the neck, and the body fell to the deck, twitching frantically.
Blood splattered across Luo Sheng’s face, creating a sharp contrast against her fair skin. With red-rimmed eyes, she continued to drive her knife into the downed zombie, looking like a war goddess venting her fury.
Maintaining this peak combat state, she worked with Nan Chu to clear the remaining zombies from the deck. She panted heavily, her cotton coat torn to shreds and her face covered in blood and rainwater.
But Luo Sheng didn’t stop. She immediately turned to Nan Shuwan, grabbing the arm that had been bitten. “How are you?” her voice was thick with anxiety and worry. Since her rebirth, she had never been this afraid. Nan Chu also rushed over with her knife, her expression grave.
Nan Shuwan, pale-faced, merely shook her head. Before their eyes, she rolled up her sleeve halfway to reveal the arm guard underneath. “I’m okay. Luckily I was wearing this, otherwise it would have broken the skin…”
Luo Sheng let out a massive sigh of relief, her heart pounding. At this moment, she felt truly blessed by fate. When she mistakenly thought Nan Shuwan had been bitten, she had nearly fallen into a state of total madness—a sign of a mental breakdown—but the urgency of the situation had channeled that emotion into raw fury against the zombies.
She patted Nan Shuwan’s shoulder and pulled her to her feet, her gaze lingering with a complex mix of emotions. Then she warned seriously, “Be careful. Stay close to me.”
Nan Shuwan looked down and nodded with a soft “Mhm,” regripping her weapon.
Nan Chu gave her a light punch and patted her own chest, looking thoroughly spooked. “You nearly scared me to death…”
They didn’t have long to talk. Su Rong’s side was nearing its breaking point; their boat was rocking precariously and was on the verge of flipping. With zombies constantly charging up, the three women were exhausted and losing their ability to fight back.
The zombies knocked into the water weren’t hitting their vital spots and kept returning in a never-ending stream, like a harvest that grew back wave after wave. They simply couldn’t kill them all.
Luo Sheng looked at the scene with a sense of despair. If everyone fell into the water, they would be at an even greater disadvantage and would likely face certain death. Was she destined to face a tragic end in this life as well?
Just as the zombies swarmed the edges of the assault boat again, Luo Sheng noticed the band around her wrist suddenly emit a golden light. She looked closer; the small text next to it read: Space Materialization Progress 100%. Does the owner wish to summon the Physical Space? Yes/No.
Three icons appeared as options: things that belonged on land. There was the main villa, a car, and… a yacht?
Luo Sheng’s heart skipped a beat with a surge of joy. Although she didn’t yet know exactly what this Materialization would look like, she had a feeling that anything manifested from the space would be extraordinary. Without a second thought, she clicked the virtual “Yes” button.
In an instant, the golden ring on her wrist spun like a digital code before flying off and landing on the water. Before their very eyes, a small yacht appeared out of thin air.
At first, Luo Sheng was a bit disappointed. From the outside, this yacht didn’t look much larger than the assault boat they were currently on—at most, it had a closed canopy, whereas theirs was open-air.
However, it could accommodate four people, and more importantly, Luo Sheng could control it with her mind. The yacht immediately pulled up alongside them. Luo Sheng, seeing the zombies about to swarm, grabbed her mother—who was shivering in a corner—and jumped across. Nan Shuwan and the others followed suit.
But it wasn’t until they stepped inside that Luo Sheng realized this yacht was bigger on the inside! From the outside, it looked like a common small boat with four visible seats behind a glass screen.
Once inside, the yacht was shockingly spacious—at least a hundred square meters, fully equipped with everything one could need. It was as if they had stepped through Doraemon’s “Anywhere Door” into another world.
Luo Sheng took the driver’s seat. The view through the glass was identical to what she had seen outside. The zombies were slamming against the hull, but it was useless; the boat didn’t budge an inch, showing no signs of damage.
Then, a new line of text appeared on the screen in front of her:
[Level 3]
[Defense 3]
[Attack 3]
[Defense and Attack functions automatically enabled for the owner]
Luo Sheng was stunned beyond words. Nan Chu and Nan Shuwan were equally baffled, their hands over their mouths in shock and joy.
Meanwhile, Su Rong’s boat had flipped. The three of them were splashing in the water, looking prepared to meet their end.
Luo Sheng immediately directed the yacht with her mind. Upon receiving the command, the boat sped toward Su Rong’s group. Sharp blades suddenly emerged from the hull and the base of the boat, spinning rapidly like a meat grinder, shredding the attacking zombies into pieces and turning the surrounding water blood-red.
In the water, Liu Lin looked up to see Luo Sheng waving and shouting, “Get on, quick!”
Su Rong breathed a sigh of relief. Seeing Luo Sheng at that moment was like seeing a shining hero, though the yacht looked too small from the outside to fit all three of them. Nevertheless, Su Rong helped Feng Xi climb aboard, with Liu Lin following closely behind.
As soon as they entered, they all wore the same expression of shock as Nan Chu and Nan Shuwan had moments ago.
What… what is this place?!
