Acting as the Movie Queen Love Rival’s Golden Finger GL - Chapter 13
Song Jianzhi nearly handed Ming Xu the chopsticks.
Sister Ming Xu still hadn’t eaten anything.
Fortunately, Ming Xu paused, then very obligingly picked up the bamboo chopsticks and started eating.
Having succeeded in feeding her, Song Jianzhi turned to look at Hu Fan. Her eyes curved as she said, “Elder Hu, your script really is wonderful. After I received it, I spent an entire day reading it, and even after finishing, I still wanted more.”
Hu Fan said, “So the script was with you? I was wondering. That child Jianyin usually doesn’t pay attention to this kind of thing, so why did she suddenly ask me for the script?”
At this point, Hu Fan sized Song Jianzhi up. “Do you want to act?”
Song Jianzhi was very self-aware and said, “No, no. What would I know about acting? An outsider like me can only watch the excitement.”
Song Jianzhi liked talking with elderly people. In front of elders, her sweet, naive side unconsciously showed itself. Although her appearance was seductive and charming, her eyes were clear and bright, making her look full of spirit.
Especially with Qiao Xin, who was a similar type, there as contrast.
Hu Fan pondered, carefully looked at Song Jianzhi, then looked at Qiao Xin.
Qiao Xin’s hand tightened around her spoon.
This old man couldn’t be thinking of letting Song Jianzhi play the second female lead, could he!
Fortunately, Hu Fan did not say anything more about this matter. Instead, he talked with Ming Xu about female stars who had acted in his films before. Ming Xu knew them like the back of her hand and could even compare them with the character images in the original works. It was clear she truly loved Elder Hu’s works.
The two actually became more and more engaged the longer they talked. By the end, Elder Hu was even calling her “Xiao Xu” and quizzing her. “Xiao Xu, since you understand my works so well, you must have guessed what we’re filming this time, right?”
“Ah, Jianzhi, you haven’t shown her the script, have you?” Elder Hu pretended to glare at Song Jianzhi.
Song Jianzhi said obediently, “No, no. Without your word, how would I dare?”
Ming Xu glanced at her, her gaze gentle.
“It’s Don’t Believe There Is No Fate.”
Ming Xu answered with certainty. “Among your works, only this one has never been adapted into any film or television drama.”
Hu Fan looked satisfied. Holding his chopsticks, he tapped them twice in the air and sighed. “That’s right. This was the first book I started writing, yet it’s the last one I dared to film. I always felt that because I wrote it when I was young, it was missing something.”
He smacked his lips. “But after coming out, walking around, and meeting you all, I’ve actually gained some inspiration. This trip truly wasn’t in vain.”
“I really have to thank Qiao… Qiao Kai, right! When people get old, their memory gets bad.”
Qiao Kai smiled and answered, “To receive even one word of thanks from Elder Hu is my good fortune.”
Under the table, his hand clenched into a fist. Beside him, Qiao Xin also felt terribly blocked inside. What did he mean, bad memory? He remembered Ming Xu’s name perfectly well.
She and her brother had clearly been the ones who invited him here, yet this rotten old man was chatting enthusiastically with someone else!
Unfortunately, no one cared about Qiao Xin’s opinion. Even her brother kept warning her with several looks, reminding her to watch her attitude.
Only after they sent Hu Fan off did Song Jianzhi finally have time to deal with the siblings. She said to Qiao Kai, “Are you going back to the group? Help me remind Sister about the law firm matter.”
Qiao Kai said respectfully, “Yes, Miss.”
Under her brother’s signal, Qiao Xin suppressed the dissatisfaction in her heart and revealed a sugary smile. “Jianzhi, we haven’t seen each other in so long. Do you want to find a place to have tea?”
Song Jianzhi said, “That’s true. We haven’t seen each other in over ten years.”
Qiao Xin: …
Qiao Kai: …
Ming Xu cleared her throat, holding back her laughter.
Song Jianzhi said sincerely, “I don’t think there’s any need to catch up, right? You couldn’t even recognize me. Do you still want to drink tea with a stranger?”
The Qiao siblings had nothing to say. In the end, they could only leave behind a dry “Then we’ll visit you at the Song residence another day” before departing.
After finishing her roast, Song Jianzhi felt refreshed. They were now in the first-floor lobby of Sikou. Song Jianzhi thought for a moment and, confirming she hadn’t missed anything, said, “I’ll have Xiao Wang send you home.”
“What about you?” Ming Xu asked without revealing anything.
Song Jianzhi said casually, “Sikou has cars. I can have them send me home.”
After all, she wasn’t a public figure, and Sikou’s service was very thorough. It was more suitable to let Xiao Wang send Ming Xu.
Ming Xu had no intention of objecting. Instead, she said, “Let’s add each other’s contact information?”
“Sure.”
Song Jianzhi took out her phone and waited. Then she saw Ming Xu withdraw an empty hand. “I probably left my phone in the private room. Come upstairs with me to look for it.”
After saying that, without giving Song Jianzhi any chance to react, Ming Xu took her hand and headed toward the private room.
Caught off guard, Song Jianzhi followed Ming Xu’s steps while recalling, “Was it really in the private room? I don’t think I saw you take your phone out. Could you have left it in the car?”
Ming Xu answered briefly, “It’s in the private room.”
Perhaps because Ming Xu’s steps were hurried, before Song Jianzhi could figure it out, she had already been dragged into the private room.
Click. The private room door closed behind her.
Song Jianzhi was still saying, “Then hurry and look for—”
Halfway through, Ming Xu’s hand loosened slightly, and her exquisite bag fell to the floor. She turned around and trapped Song Jianzhi between the private room door and her own body.
A shadow enveloped Song Jianzhi. Beside her ear, hot, damp breath scattered over her. Ming Xu’s long hair fell against Song Jianzhi’s shoulder and neck, making her itch.
The jade-white earlobe beneath Ming Xu’s eyes was stained with a thin red. Ming Xu laughed lightly and said, “I haven’t even done anything yet.”
Song Jianzhi swallowed and leaned against the door, trying to negotiate. “Th-then how about you don’t do anything?”
Ming Xu did not answer. She parted her lips and lightly bit Song Jianzhi’s earlobe, slowly grinding the soft flesh between her teeth. Her wet tongue swept over it, making the person beneath her shudder.
“Punishment.”
Ming Xu’s voice dropped much lower, and since it was being sent directly into Song Jianzhi’s ear, it made Song Jianzhi’s legs faintly go weak.
This was bad.
Song Jianzhi struggled with effort. “System! Do you have a heart-clearing mantra? Put it on single-song repeat!”
The system said cordially, “All right. Loading for you now. Progress: 0.01%…”
Song Jianzhi: …
“Ming Xu…” Song Jianzhi bit her lip, and only after the words left her mouth did she realize her voice was basically no different from a moan. She was so frightened that she stopped saying the rest.
Ming Xu finally licked her ear one last time. The hand that had never let go of Song Jianzhi’s tightened even further. She looked straight into Song Jianzhi’s eyes and curved her lips. “Today, you kept calling my name.”
“I’m very happy.”
As she spoke, Ming Xu’s hand pressed against Song Jianzhi’s cheek. Her fingers were long and well-defined, enough to hold Song Jianzhi’s palm-sized face under her control.
Ming Xu smiled in satisfaction.
Her thumb pressed slightly harder, the pad of her finger brushing beneath Song Jianzhi’s eye. Her usually cool, sweet voice was no longer distant. Instead, it carried a hint of coaxing.
“Do you want a reward?”
“A reward…” Song Jianzhi repeated dazedly, like a mortal scholar whose mind had been bewitched by a spirit.
Ming Xu took that as agreement.
“I’ll give it to you now.”
Ming Xu applied a little force, controlling Song Jianzhi’s beautiful face and making her lift it, as though offering a kiss up to her. She bent down and leaned closer, close enough to see the tiny, adorable fine hairs on that soft, fair skin.
“Aren’t you closing your eyes?” Ming Xu looked at those eyes that seemed covered in a faint mist and suddenly asked. Her tone was intimate, and her palm gently rubbed Song Jianzhi’s face.
Song Jianzhi’s mind was not really turning anymore. In truth, she still did not understand how things had developed to this point. But perhaps…
Perhaps what? She couldn’t say.
She only knew that she gave a tiny response, perhaps not even making any proper sound at all, before obediently closing her eyes.
Ming Xu laughed softly twice.
“So obedient.”
Song Jianzhi, quietly waiting for what would happen next, heard that low murmur right beside her and became a little clearer-headed.
That was right. Why was she being so obedient?
She suddenly opened her eyes and blinked several times in a row. Without realizing it, her cheeks had already flushed red with shame. Bravely, she reached out to push Ming Xu, her voice carrying a bit of grievance from being teased. “Move away.”
Ming Xu grasped the hand that tried to push her away and pressed Song Jianzhi’s restrained wrists against the door, on either side of her head, gentle yet forceful.
Ming Xu kissed her.
Not allowing refusal.
Author’s Note:
In Sister Ming Xu’s character setting, the words “abstinent” do not exist.
I heard some little angels miss my double updates, so while I’m at it, let me ask for favorites. More favorites means more food. Maybe after the novel goes VIP, the author will update six thousand words a day. [Bold guess.]
Thank you, bosses, for the tips. The above bosses have gifted System 4399’s music library one heart-clearing mantra x1.
