After Being Clung to by a Gentle, Seductive Omega - Chapter 7
The Ji family’s old residence was located on a mountaintop beside the eastern city center.
A vast stretch of private mountain land separated it from the bustle and noise of the city, forming a place that was close to downtown, had beautiful scenery, and possessed a uniquely quiet atmosphere.
After driving along the winding mountain road for about ten minutes, the car arrived before the majestic and solemn main gate. The iron railings before them slowly opened to both sides.
Finally, the car stopped by a fountain with excellent design.
A pair of straight, slender legs stepped onto the blue brick pavement.
On the other side, Cen Sang helped Ji Xunwu out of the car.
Although the sisters were twenty years apart, their features looked as if they had been carved from the same mold. One big and one small, both had the same bright and radiant faces, and they wore suits of the same style but different designs.
The servants stood in two rows and bowed respectfully.
“Eldest Miss, Little Miss, Miss Cen Sang.”
The old butler came forward and stopped two meters away from Ji Congyan, accompanying the three of them as they walked toward the brightly lit living room.
“Eldest Miss, dinner is ready. Will you be dining upstairs alone, or will you eat together with Little Miss and Miss Cen Sang?”
Ji Congyan was just about to say, “I’ll eat upstairs,” when she felt a gaze from beside her.
She turned her head and met Ji Xunwu’s small eyes, which were full of expectation.
The words on the tip of her tongue changed into, “I’ll eat with Xunwu.”
The little one instantly beamed, her eyes curving into crescents. Afraid that her sister would change her mind, she quickly turned her head back with deliberate restraint.
The almost bouncing steps beneath her betrayed her joy at that moment.
Although the sisters were not holding hands, the air around them still overflowed with happiness.
Before entering the living room, they passed through the changing area. The three of them washed their hands and changed into comfortable home clothes.
The dining table was full of sumptuous food. A complete set of utensils was placed beside each person. There were two pairs of chopsticks and two forks, one for personal use and the other for serving food.
Members of the Ji family did not speak while eating or before sleeping. The only sound in the dining room came from the enormous television.
After dinner, Ji Xunwu practiced calligraphy in the stone pavilion in the front courtyard, while Cen Sang stayed nearby.
After changing into her home clothes, Ji Congyan would not go out again. She worked overtime alone on the sofa in the main building’s living room for a while.
At nine o’clock, the heavy sound of a bell rang.
Ji Congyan raised her head from the pile of documents and put in a few drops of eye drops.
A burning sensation gradually rose from the gland at the back of her neck. The rut that had been induced by the Omega had not yet ended. Once late night came, she began to faintly crave the taste of that orchid-and-sandalwood Omega pheromone.
She leaned against the sofa and adjusted her breathing. The butler quickly brought over a suppressant.
The cool suppressant fluid was slowly injected, and only then did the scorching heat in her gland ease slightly.
“Sister…”
Ji Xunwu had returned and was standing not far from the sofa.
Because she had come back from outside and was covered in bacteria, she did not dare approach her mysophobic sister. She could only look at her sister receiving the injection with reddened eyes.
Her little mouth was pressed together, and tears swirled in her eyes.
After the injection was finished, the syringe clattered into the special trash bin. Ji Congyan leaned lazily against the sofa.
“I’m fine.”
“Sister had to get an injection. How can you be fine?”
“This is an Alpha suppressant. Sister is in her rut. I need the injection to get better.”
“Okay. Sister, does it hurt?”
“A little.”
Suppressants were far less effective than Omega pheromones.
Right now, it could only be considered barely stopping the Alpha pheromones from rampaging inside her gland. The heat in her body could not subside for the time being, and her eyelids felt heavy with exhaustion.
“Sister, if you hug me, it won’t hurt anymore.”
The little one had wrapped herself tightly in a thick blanket, leaving only a pair of reddened little eyes exposed.
Ji Congyan did not like physical contact with others, even if they were family.
Yet Ji Xunwu happened to be a high-needs younger sister who always wanted to be close to her older sister.
As the two sisters got along, this way of closeness gradually came into being.
Ji Xunwu, wrapped into a bundle, obediently sat in Ji Congyan’s arms and was carried back to the bedroom. Her chin rested on her sister’s shoulder through the thick blanket, and she waved good night to Cen Sang outside the elevator doors.
Cen Sang looked at the close sisters and could not help showing a gratified smile.
After returning to the bedroom, Ji Congyan placed her younger sister at the bathroom door.
“Go in and take a bath by yourself.”
Ji Xunwu nodded. “Is Sister feeling a little better?”
Ji Congyan said, “The physical burning pain hasn’t improved.”
Seeing Ji Xunwu’s little mouth about to droop again, her small gaze both wronged and distressed, Ji Congyan added at the right moment, “But hugging Xunwu made my heart feel much, much better.”
The little one instantly became happy.
“Sister, when you feel uncomfortable in the future, remember to hug me.”
Wiping her tears, she entered the bathroom.
Ji Congyan sat in the soft chair beside the bed, holding a children’s bedtime book.
Before long, the sound of water in the bathroom stopped, followed by the buzzing of a hair dryer.
After taking care of herself, Ji Xunwu obediently got into bed. The blanket covered her shoulders, and she stared at her sister without blinking.
“Where did we stop yesterday?” Ji Congyan asked.
Ji Xunwu said, “We were talking about the oil tycoon of Country A, Sunnis. When she was sixteen, she followed her mother down to the oilfield and had one leg swept away by heavy equipment. Sister, was Sunnis in a lot of pain?”
Ji Congyan said, “Yes. Does Xunwu want to hug her?”
Ji Xunwu shook her head seriously.
“I only want to hug Mom, Mommy, and Sister.”
Ji Congyan smiled. “Does Xunwu know what losing a leg means?”
Ji Xunwu said, “It means she has to walk with crutches, and it’s painful and difficult. It also means she is a disabled person. Maybe people at work won’t treat her well, and working will be hard.”
“Yes… But only her body was incomplete. Her heart was not…”
Only one small bedside lamp was on in the room. Warm yellow light fell over the two of them. One big and one small, one sitting and one lying down, they spoke softly, and the atmosphere was incomparably warm.
At nine-thirty, Ji Congyan came out of the room and happened to receive a message from her mother.
Mommy: [Big baby, has our family’s little baby fallen asleep?]
Ji Congyan took a photo through the crack of the door.
Her mother’s little baby was sleeping sweetly.
Mommy: [Our family’s big baby has worked hard.]
Every time Ji Congyan saw the address “big baby,” the space between her brows twitched three times.
Too cheesy.
Compared with the other three members of her family, it was as if some part of her genes had mutated, making her allergic to romance and closeness.
Mom: [Why aren’t you replying to your mommy’s message? How rude.]
Ji Congyan, who had only failed to reply for half a minute: […]
Just as she was about to reply to Mommy, another message from Mom popped up.
[She’s asleep. Don’t send messages and disturb our beautiful dreams. Take good care of your sister.]
Ji Congyan: “.”
She stood by the door and watched Ji Xunwu for a while before leaving the main building.
Ji Xunwu had been an unexpected child her two mothers had somehow managed to have when they were already forty.
At that time, Ji Congyan had been nineteen and studying abroad. After receiving a call that her Omega mother was pregnant, she had hurriedly returned to the country.
Everyone knew very well how dangerous it was for an older pregnant woman.
But there was no resisting Mommy’s desire to have this child.
She and Mom could only follow the pregnant woman’s wishes and take even more careful care of her.
When Ji Congyan was twenty, Ji Xunwu was born. Their mom felt sorry that Mommy had suffered through childbirth, so she threw Ji Xunwu to Ji Congyan to take care of.
Because of that, Ji Congyan, a single person in her early twenties, gained a whole set of experience in caring for pregnant and postpartum women, as well as infants and young children.
While busy with her family, she did not neglect her studies. Relying on her experience taking care of her mother and younger sister, she also founded a confinement center, which was now the leader among high-end postpartum care centers in the country.
Few people outside the circle of the rich and powerful knew that the young heir of the Ji Group was the true founder of that confinement center.
Ji Congyan had a lot of work to face every day. After her two mothers left the company behind and went traveling, she became even busier.
This kind of busy life was normal for her.
There was a short distance from the main building to the small building where she lived. It required about a five-minute ride in a sightseeing cart.
The wheels rubbed against the ground, the white noise soothing, while the evening breeze brushed her face.
There were no servants along this stretch of road. Ji Congyan closed her eyes, enjoying this brief leisure after a busy day.
After passing through a field of flowers, she arrived at the courtyard deep within the manor.
It was an old Chinese-style courtyard, with white walls and black tiles. Branches of a ginkgo tree stretched out beyond the wall, glowing with a classical sheen beneath the moonlight.
It had not been renovated for many years, and there were slight cracks in the walls.
Pushing open the heavy wooden door, the water-side night lights lit up in response. The courtyard was quiet and peaceful.
She stepped over the stones on the water, crossed the front courtyard, and the first place she reached was not the living room, but the bathroom.
Ji Congyan took a comfortable bath, washing away the bacteria, dust, and dirt she had picked up outside. Only after passing through the bathroom did she reach the living room.
Her bathrobe was tied loosely, and she stepped onto the stairs barefoot.
Two months later, in the early morning.
Ji Congyan came downstairs barefoot, still drowsy from sleep. Cen Sang’s voice came from her phone.
“The design draft is ready. According to your requirements, the two master bedrooms on the second floor have been changed into one single master bedroom. Correspondingly, the staircase has also been changed from a double-sided design to a single-sided one.”
This courtyard had been passed down from Ji Congyan’s great-grandmother’s generation.
It was old and should have been renovated many years ago.
But at that time, the great clean freak could not stand living in the main building and had moved into this courtyard. Since then, aside from Ji Congyan and a few fully armed cleaning staff, no one else had been able to step into this area.
A few days ago, during a thunderstorm, lightning struck down a small section of the wall, and Ji Congyan had nearly been hit.
Only then did she have no choice but to officially put the renovation on the agenda.
“You’re pretty unlucky too. This courtyard has been standing for nearly a hundred years, yet something just had to happen this year. Why don’t you check whether you’ve done anything immoral recently? For example, letting down some Omega, or getting someone pregnant or something.”
Cen Sang looked at the almanac and offered the suggestion seriously.
“I’m a good citizen. I don’t do those things.”
Ji Congyan sat at the dining table and ate breakfast unhurriedly while carefully looking over the design draft.
“Add a terrace to the second floor. Also, Xunwu is going to attend the opening ceremony too. Have her change clothes.”
“Okay. Do I need to ask for leave from the kindergarten?”
“Yes. This child really is something. She insists on seeing some pretty sister.” Ji Congyan complained faintly, “Is her own biological sister not good-looking enough?”
