After Being Clung to by a Gentle, Seductive Omega - Chapter 9
“Mom!”
Ji Xunwu’s crisp, clear voice rang out from outside the door. Ji Congyan raised her head from the script and saw Ji Xunwu leading an outsider in.
“Mom, my head accidentally bumped into Sister Bo. Sister Bo brought me here to treat the injury on my forehead.”
Ji Congyan had originally been leaning against the sofa. Hearing this, she leaned forward, her gaze carefully sweeping over the small bump on Ji Xunwu’s forehead.
In a gentle voice, she asked, “Does it hurt?”
Ji Xunwu said, “It hurts, but I believe that after Sister Bo treats the injury on my forehead, it won’t hurt anymore.”
Her tone was especially serious, as if Bo Shuang were some miracle medicine that could cure her the moment she treated it.
The little one was still holding Bo Shuang’s hand and refused to let go.
After Ji Congyan confirmed that the bump on her head was nothing serious, she relaxed and leaned back against the sofa, not sparing the sudden stranger a single glance.
Her fingertips flipped through the script, and her tone was casual.
“Miss Bo is of the same generation as me, and she is even three years older than me. What should you call her, Xunwu?”
Ji Xunwu was a polite child.
Someone of the same generation as Mom should be called Auntie. She understood such a simple principle.
But the “Mom” in front of her was not her real mom. She was her sister.
She pressed her lips together. “Mom… Sister Bo is a pretty sister. I can’t call her Auntie.”
Ji Congyan’s eyes remained on the script, and her lips curved.
“Fine. Then I’ll have to trouble Miss Bo to apply medicine for our Xunwu.”
Bo Shuang held Ji Xunwu’s hand and looked at the big and small faces before her, which seemed almost carved from the same mold. Suddenly, her stomach churned violently.
Her lips turned an unnatural white.
Enduring the discomfort in her body, she treated the bruise on Ji Xunwu’s forehead. Ji Xunwu behaved obediently the entire time, looking at Bo Shuang with those black grape-like eyes.
Ji Congyan kept watching from the corner of her eye the whole time, guarding against the uninvited guest doing anything unfavorable to her younger sister.
As for that little thing, she was completely carefree and only cared about looking at the beauty.
The lead actress only had five minutes left of her break. Bo Shuang needed to touch up her makeup. After saying goodbye to Ji Congyan and her “daughter,” she entered the makeup room next door.
Powder brushes quickly swept across her face.
Her assistant complained quietly behind her, “Sister, they clearly promised an independent dressing room. How could they still partition off more than half of it and give it to the investor? It’s not like the investor comes here every day.”
The other assistants chimed in too.
“Why doesn’t the director partition off her own lounge? She only has one assistant.”
“The investor suddenly came over, and they’re just taking advantage of our sister because she’s famous and has a good temper.”
“Forget it. Say a little less.”
The dressing room before them was less than ten square meters.
The original dressing room had been thirty square meters, but most of it had been partitioned off and given to Ji Congyan, who had suddenly graced the project’s filming site with her presence.
Bo Shuang, her makeup and styling team, and her assistants made six people in total. Squeezing into this tiny lounge could only be described as extremely cramped.
“Fanfan.”
Bo Shuang opened her eyes and looked at her assistant in the makeup mirror. Her tone was gentle.
“It’s fine. President Ji and the others will only stay on set for one day. Afterward, the partition will be removed. If you feel hot, go out and find your friends to play with. Don’t stay here and feel stuffy.”
Liu Fan shook her head. “Sister, I’ll stay with you.”
“Sister, then we’ll go out first.”
The other assistants felt as if they had been granted amnesty and hurriedly fled. Only Bo Shuang, Liu Fan, and the makeup artist remained in the dressing room.
After the door closed, even the stuffy air improved a lot.
Liu Fan secretly rolled her eyes. “Those people don’t do their work properly and were just waiting for Sister to give them permission to leave.”
The makeup artist chuckled. “Fanfan, Sister already has enough people watching her every day. Let’s not mention those annoying people anymore. Let’s talk about some interesting gossip instead. Did you see Little President Ji next door?”
Liu Fan nodded. “President Ji’s younger sister.”
The makeup artist said, “Oh, she’s not really her younger sister.”
Liu Fan’s face instantly turned gossipy. “Not her younger sister!?”
The makeup artist said, “I’m not sure, okay? A lot of people suspect she’s President Ji’s illegitimate daughter. You saw how much President Ji and Little President Ji look alike just now, right? Tell me, which sounds more believable: Madam Ji giving birth at the advanced age of forty, or President Ji accidentally getting someone pregnant when she was nineteen?”
The two of them chatted in low voices, completely unaware that Bo Shuang, who had just closed her eyes, had opened them.
When the break ended, Bo Shuang returned from the dressing room to the set.
The air was sweltering. Her stomach was still faintly uncomfortable, churning with nausea, and her face grew even paler.
This feeling of nausea was different from every previous time. Even after taking twice her usual amount of medicine, she could not suppress it.
The more medicine she took, the worse her physical condition became.
Lines ran through her mind. Bo Shuang forced down the nausea and slowly immersed herself in the first scene.
The first scene after the opening ceremony attracted great attention. The investors and all members of the production team were present, surrounding the vast set so tightly that not even water could pass through.
It was a funeral scene. The protagonist played by Bo Shuang had lost her wife. Ji Congyan sat beside the monitor and glanced at the project’s leading actress.
Film Queen Bo wore a low-key black outfit and a black veiled hat. Her solemn and dignified attire could not conceal the gentleness that radiated from her bones.
She seemed to have completely immersed herself in the sorrowful atmosphere of losing her wife. Her face carried an unmistakable widowed pallor that could not be hidden.
The makeup and styling were very well done. She truly carried a bit of the feeling of someone who had lost her wife.
In her heart, Ji Congyan gave approval to the lead actress she had chosen.
