After Desperately Pretending To Be An Omega In Front Of My Girlfriend - Chapter 2
Qi Yu and Gu Qian kept up a facade of cordiality the entire ride home before finally arriving at the Qi residence.
“Xiaoyu and Qianqian are back? Xiaoyu, hurry up and wash some fruit for Qianqian!” Mother Qi called from the kitchen the moment they had changed into their slippers.
“No need, Auntie. I can do it myself,” Gu Qian said.
Having long mastered the art of avoiding her mother’s nagging, Qi Yu hurried into the kitchen before Gu Qian could move and took the grapes to wash them.
Dutifully, she placed a plate of grapes in front of Gu Qian. Just as she turned to leave, Gu Qian, seated on the sofa, suddenly reached out, caught her by the wrist, and gave it a tug.
Qi Yu jumped in surprise.
Then it hit her in an instant.
She was an “Omega”!
Wasn’t this the perfect opportunity to show off her “Omega charm”? Maybe then Gu Qian would stop thinking of her as a backup option.
“Oh my~”
Qi Yu let out a soft yelp and allowed herself to lose her balance gracefully, following the pull of Gu Qian’s arm until she landed on the sofa with a plop.
She waved her tiny pink fists and lightly pounded Gu Qian’s shoulder a few times before stamping her foot in mock embarrassment.
“So mean! Why’d you suddenly pull me like that~?”
Unfortunately, while stomping her foot, she accidentally kicked the coffee table.
The glass sitting on top of it shook, tipped over, and crashed onto the floor with a loud smash.
Gu Qian: “…”
Qi Yu coughed awkwardly.
“My legs are just… a little too long…”
At that moment, Gu Qian’s soft, warm upper body happened to be pressed tightly against hers. Her graceful figure leaned against Qi Yu’s arm, carrying with it waves of alluring warmth and fragrance that were almost intoxicating.
Without drawing attention to herself, Qi Yu discreetly scooted her hips a little farther away.
“What did you pull me over for?” she asked with a hint of dissatisfaction.
“We haven’t seen each other in so long, and your first instinct is to avoid me?”
Gu Qian gave a soft, amused snort, sounding almost reproachful.
As she spoke, she leaned even closer. Her eyes shimmered with moisture as they gazed directly into Qi Yu’s, as though there were no one else in the world.
The familiar scent of hibiscus pheromones lingered at the tip of Qi Yu’s nose.
Looking at Gu Qian’s exquisite face, she inexplicably recalled the bizarre dream she’d had that morning.
Her heart immediately began pounding uncontrollably again.
“I wasn’t avoiding you. You just got back from overseas—you must be exhausted. I didn’t want to bother you.”
The moment Qi Yu tried to move, Gu Qian gently—but firmly—pressed a hand onto her shoulder, leaving no room for escape.
“I’m thirsty.”
Gu Qian’s tone was elegant and matter-of-fact.
“Feed me some grapes.”
Qi Yu: “…”
Humiliated, she picked up a grape and held it in front of Gu Qian.
“You expect me to eat it with the skin on?”
Gu Qian arched an eyebrow, amusement dancing in her eyes.
Qi Yu secretly glanced toward the kitchen before resigning herself to peeling the grape.
Soon, a plump, translucent grape sat neatly in her fingers.
Gu Qian parted her rosy lips slightly and obediently let out a soft,
“Ah—”
Qi Yu’s entire body trembled.
Gu Qian wrapped her lips around the grape Qi Yu was holding. Her warm, damp tongue brushed lightly across Qi Yu’s fingertip, and her lips gave it the gentlest suck before her crimson tongue curled around the grape and drew it into her mouth.
She chewed it slowly and contentedly, looking every bit like a well-fed fox.
Qi Yu jerked her hand back as though she’d been stung by a bee, her expression becoming indescribably complicated.
This Omega is way too casual.
Just to tease me, has she completely stopped caring whether someone’s an Alpha or an Omega?
Gu Qian lazily straightened up.
With her long, elegant fingers, she picked up another grape and carefully peeled it before thoughtfully bringing it to Qi Yu’s lips.
“Here.”
Her gaze was impossibly gentle.
“Open your mouth.”
Meeting those captivating eyes, Qi Yu’s limbs went weak.
She stubbornly kept her lips sealed as tightly as a clam.
Gu Qian wasn’t in any hurry.
She simply held the peeled grape between her pale fingertips and gently rubbed it against Qi Yu’s lips.
“If you don’t eat it, it’ll go to waste.”
She smiled sweetly.
Left with no other choice, Qi Yu cautiously parted her lips and bit into the thoroughly tormented grape.
No matter how hard she tried to avoid it, the tip of her tongue still accidentally brushed against Gu Qian’s cool fingers.
Her heart instantly began pounding like a drum.
At the dinner table, Mother Qi kept piling food into Gu Qian’s bowl, smiling with obvious affection.
“Qianqian, Auntie even saw the video on Douyin! You won that… Best Actress award, didn’t you?”
She looked even prouder than if it had been her own daughter who had won.
“It was just good luck. The credit belongs to the director.”
Gu Qian lowered her head with a modest smile.
As the older and younger women chatted happily, Qi Yu did her best to minimize her presence.
Unfortunately, before long, the topic shifted to her.
“Xiaoyu.”
Mother Qi looked at her with an expression of utter disappointment.
“You and Qianqian grew up together. You’re so close. Why won’t you at least give it a try?”
Qi Yu nearly choked on her rice and hurriedly gulped down some water.
“Mom, we’re both Omegas! I only like Alphas!”
What she didn’t say was…
Gu Qian already has someone she can’t forget. What would I even be?
She secretly glanced at Gu Qian.
Gu Qian calmly picked up a piece of bok choy. Her expression remained placid, impossible to read.
“You silly girl!”
Mother Qi raised her voice.
“Qianqian doesn’t even mind you! What’s so great about Alphas? They’re rude, arrogant, and people complain about them online every single day!”
She sighed before continuing.
“I only realized it afterward. Thank goodness you’re not an Alpha. If you were, I’d rather kick you out of the house!”
Qi Yu: “…”
At Mother Qi’s insistence, Gu Qian stayed the night.
Since she hadn’t brought any luggage, Qi Yu had no choice but to lend her some clothes.
She dug out a freshly washed, sweet-smelling bathrobe from her wardrobe and carefully sniffed it to make sure none of her own Alpha pheromone scent lingered on it before handing it over with relief.
That night, after Qi Yu had finished showering and was just about to go to bed, someone knocked on her door.
She opened it.
Gu Qian was standing outside.
The bathrobe was slightly oversized on her. The loose fabric draped casually over her body, its collar hanging half open to reveal her enticing collarbones.
Her freshly washed hair was still dripping wet, beads of water continuously rolling down and soaking a small patch over her shoulder.
The hibiscus fragrance that greeted Qi Yu head-on made her head spin.
Her mind went blank for a moment.
Outside the door, Gu Qian’s expression changed slightly, surprise flashing across her face.
She had just opened her mouth to speak when Qi Yu suddenly remembered something.
Bang!
She slammed the door shut again.
Gu Qian: “…”
Gu Qian frowned deeply.
Confusion immediately arose in her heart.
She knew Qi Yu’s pheromones smelled like mint.
But just now…
She seemed to have smelled Alpha pheromones.
The smile disappeared from Gu Qian’s lips, and her expression instantly turned icy.
Inside the room, Qi Yu hurriedly dug out a bottle of Omega disguise medicine and drank it before hiding the bottle away.
Only then did she finally relax enough to open the door again.
“Ahem…”
She rubbed her nose awkwardly.
“I just remembered I’d left some underwear on the bed. I was kind of embarrassed for you to see it.”
Then she asked hesitantly,
“Did… you need something?”
The scent of Alpha pheromones had already vanished.
Only the familiar mint fragrance remained—
the mint scent belonging to an Omega.
Was it just my imagination?
Or… is Qi Yu secretly dating an Alpha?
Suppressing the countless thoughts swirling in her mind, Gu Qian bit her lip before speaking with an embarrassed expression.
“Could I borrow your hair dryer?”
“The one in the guest room is broken, and I can’t dry my hair.”
Qi Yu looked at her suspiciously.
Seeing that Gu Qian genuinely seemed troubled, she nodded.
“Wait a second. I’ll go get it.”
The words had barely left her mouth when Gu Qian took a step forward without waiting for permission.
She closed the door behind herself and casually walked into the room.
Qi Yu: “…”
“No need to go through the trouble.”
Gu Qian flashed her a sweet smile.
“I’ll just dry it here and leave afterward.”
She headed straight toward the bathroom.
Qi Yu’s eyes widened.
She hadn’t had time to clean the bathroom yet—it was still filled with traces of her Alpha pheromones!
She practically sprinted over and blocked Gu Qian’s path.
“Um… I haven’t cleaned the bathroom yet.”
She smiled a little too enthusiastically.
“I’ll just bring the hair dryer out for you!”
“Is there something in the bathroom?”
Gu Qian instantly sensed that something was off.
The smile disappeared from her face.
Her jade-like features betrayed no emotion whatsoever, yet an inexplicable pressure settled over the room like an approaching storm.
“N-No…”
“No what?”
Gu Qian was slightly shorter than Qi Yu.
Now she tilted her chin upward, their noses nearly brushing against Qi Yu’s rosy lips.
Without waiting for an answer, Gu Qian’s voice turned cold.
“Are you secretly seeing an Alpha?”
She paused.
A dangerous glint appeared in her eyes.
“Or have the two of you… already marked each other?”
Qi Yu had still been desperately trying to think of an excuse.
Hearing that question, she froze.
“Huh?”
She shuddered.
Somehow, cool fingers had already climbed to the back of her neck and were slowly caressing it.
The touch slithered across her vulnerable gland like a snake, lingering there greedily as though savoring it.
Qi Yu let out a shaky breath.
“I didn’t…”
Before she could finish speaking, Gu Qian pressed her against the wall.
A damp kiss landed beneath her chin.
The sensation was soft, lingering, and feather-light—
like a butterfly gently fluttering its wings against her skin before leaving behind the faint trace of morning dew.
Qi Yu felt as though she’d been injected with some numbing poison.
She stood frozen for what felt like an eternity, staring blankly at the long eyelashes only inches away.
Then those delicate kisses slowly found their way to her lips.
“Mmph…”
Qi Yu wanted to push Gu Qian away.
But she was afraid that, with an Alpha’s strength, she might accidentally hurt her.
She struggled several times, yet each attempt only made it look as though she was shyly resisting while secretly welcoming the affection.
Only after a long while did Gu Qian finally let her go.
Her eyes were rimmed red, looking even more aggrieved than Qi Yu herself.
After catching her breath, Qi Yu shouted,
“Have you lost your mind?”
Gu Qian’s gentle voice carried a trace of darkness as she spoke close to Qi Yu’s ear.
“I told you before… if you can’t accept an Omega, I can wait.”
“But I will never allow your body to carry someone else’s scent.”
Qi Yu knew Gu Qian had always been like this.
Whenever her possessiveness flared up, there was no brushing her off with a flimsy excuse.
She closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
When she opened them again, her eyes had already turned red.
“I clearly didn’t want to tell anyone.”
She looked utterly wronged.
“So why do you have to keep forcing me?”
Gu Qian froze.
She clearly hadn’t expected that response.
“The Alpha scent…”
Qi Yu lowered her head awkwardly and stared at her toes.
“…it’s an artificially synthesized fragrance I bought in a store.”
Seeing Gu Qian standing there in stunned silence, she added shyly,
“We’re all grown-up Omegas.”
“…Who doesn’t have… certain needs?”
